8: but hospitable [G5382], a friend of good men [G5358], discreet [G4998], just [G1342], sacred [G3741], self-controlled [G1468],
9: holding to the [G3588] according to [G2596] the [G3588] teaching [G1322] trustworthy [G4103] word [G3056], that [G2443] he might be able [G1415] both [G2532] to encourage [G3870] in [G1722] the [G3588] teaching [G1319] the [G3588] sound [G5198], and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] disputing to reprove [G1651].

13: the [G3588] testimony [G3141] this [G3778] is true ; for [G1223] which [G3739] reason reprove [G1651] them [G1473] severely ! that [G2443] they should be sound [G5198] in [G1722] the [G3588] trust '[G4102],
14: not [G3361] giving heed [G4337] to Jewish legends (stories, myths) [G3454], and [G2532] commandments [G1785] of men , turning away from the [G3588] truth .
15: All [things] [G3956] indeed [G3303] [are] pure [G2513] to the [G3588] pure [G2513]; but to the [G3588] [ones] [G1161] being defiled [G3392] and [G2532] unbelieving nothing [G3762] [is] pure [G2513]; but are defiled [G3392] even their [G1473][G2532] the [G3588] mind [G3563] and [G2532] the [G3588] conscience [G4893].
16: God '[G2316] they acknowledge [G3670] to know [G1492], but in the [G3588][G1161] works [G2041] they deny , being abominable and [G2532] resisting persuasion , and [G2532] to [G4314] every [G3956] work [G2041] good rejected .
