Jeremiah Chapter 36 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] year [G1763] the [G3588] fourth [G5067] of Jehoiakim son [G5207] of Josiah king of Judah, came to pass [G1096] word [G3056] of Boss '[G2962] to [G4314] me [G1473], saying [G3004],
2: Take [G2983] to yourself [G4572] a papyrus leaf [G5489] scroll ! and [G2532] write [G1125] upon [G1909] it [G1473]! all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] which [G3739] I spoke [G2980] to [G4314] you [G1473] against [G1909] Israel, and [G2532] against [G1909] Judah, and [G2532] against [G1909] all [G3956] the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] from which [G3739] day [G2250] I spoke [G2980] to [G4314] you [G1473], from days [G2250] of Josiah king of Judah, and [G2532] unto [G2193] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778].
3: Perhaps [G2481] will hear the [G3588] house [G3624] of Judah] all [G3956] the [G3588] bad [things] [G2556] which [G3739] I [G1473] devise [G3049] to do [G4160] to them [G1473]; that [G2443] they should turn from way [G3598] their [G1473] the [G3588] wicked [G4190]; and [G2532] I will be propitious [G2436] [to the [G3588]ir iniquities [G1473], and [G2532] [to the [G3588]ir sins [G1473].
4: And [G2532] Jeremiah called [G2564] the [G3588] Baruch son [G5207] of Neriah. And [G2532] Baruch wrote [G1125] from mouth [G4750] of Jeremiah all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] of Boss '[G2962] of which [G3739] he gave a divine message [G5537] to [G4314] him [G1473] on [G1519] a papyrus paper scroll .
5: And [G2532] Jeremiah gave charge [G1781] [to the [G3588] Baruch, saying [G3004], I [G1473] am guarded [G5442], and [G2532] I am not able [G3756][G1410] to enter [G1525] into [G1519] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962].
6: And [G2532] you [G1473] will enter [G1525], and [G2532] will read with [G1722] the [G3588] this papyrus paper [scroll [G3778] into [G1519] the [G3588] ears [G3775] of the [G3588] people [G2992] in [G1722] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962] in [G1722] day [G2250] of fast [G3521]. And [G2532] in [G1519] the [G3588] ears [G3775] of all [G3956] Judah, of the [G3588] [ones] coming [G2064] from out of [G1537] their cities [G4172][G1473], you will read to them [G1473].
7: Perhaps [G2481] will fall [G4098] their [need for] compassion [G1656][G1473] in front of [G2596][G4383] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] they will turn from the [G3588] way [G3598] their [G1473] the [G3588] evil [G4190]. For [G3754] great [G3173] [is] the [G3588] rage [G2372] and [G2532] the [G3588] anger [G3709] of Boss '[G2962] which [G3739] he spoke [G2980] against [G1909] the [G3588] this people [G2992][G3778].
8: And [G2532] did [G4160] Baruch son [G5207] of Neriah] according to [G2596] all [G3956] which [G3739] gave charge to him [G1781][G1473] Jeremiah], the [G3588] to read in [G1722] the [G3588] scroll the [G3588] words [G3056] of Boss '[G2962] in [G1722] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962].
9: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] year [G2094] fifth [G3991] of Jehoiakim son [G5207] of Josiah king of Judah, in [G1722] the [G3588] month [G3376] the [G3588] ninth [G1766], they held an assembly fast [G3521] in front of [G2596][G4383] Boss '[G2962], all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] of Jerusalem, and [G2532] house [G3624] of Judah.
10: And [G2532] Baruch read in [G1722] the [G3588] scroll the [G3588] words [G3056] of Jeremiah in [G1722] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962], in [G1722] house [G3624] of Gemariah son [G5207] of Shaphan the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]), in [G1722] the [G3588] courtyard the [G3588] upper [G1883], in [G1722] thresholds gate [G4439] of the [G3588] house [G3624] [of the] Boss '[G2962] of the [G3588] new [G2537], in [G1722] ears [G3775] of all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992].
11: And [G2532] heard Micaiah son [G5207] of Gemariah son [G5207] of Shaphan] all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] of Boss '[G2962] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] scroll .
12: And [G2532] he went down [G2597] unto [G1519] house [G3624] of the [G3588] king , unto [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]). And [G2532] look [G2400], there [G1563] all [G3956] the [G3588] rulers sat [G2521] -- Elishama the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]), and [G2532] Delaiah son [G5207] of Shemaiah, and [G2532] Elnathan son [G5207] of Achbor, and [G2532] Gemariah son [G5207] of Shaphan, and [G2532] Zedekiah son [G5207] of Hananiah, and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] rulers .
13: And [G2532] announced to them [G1473] Michaiah] all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] which [G3739] he heard reading the [G3588] Baruch] in [G1722] scroll , in [G1519] the [G3588] ears [G3775] of the [G3588] people [G2992].
14: And [G2532] sent all [G3956] the [G3588] rulers to [G4314] Baruch, son [G5207] of Neriah, the [son of the [G3588] Jehudi, son [G5207] of Nethaniah, son [G5207] of Shelemiah, son [G5207] of Cushi, saying [G3004], the [G3588] scroll in [G1722] which [G3739] you [G1473] read by [G1722] it [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] ears [G3775] of the [G3588] people [G2992], take [G2983] it [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] your hand [G5495][G1473] and [G2532] come [G2240]! And [G2532] took [G2983] Baruch son [G5207] of Neriah] the [G3588] scroll in [G1722] the [G3588] his hand [G5495][G1473], and [G2532] went down [G2597] to [G4314] them [G1473].
15: And [G2532] they said [G2036] to him [G1473], Again [G3825] read for [G1519] the [G3588] our ears [G3775][G1473]! And [G2532] Baruch read in [G1519] the [G3588]ir ears [G3775][G1473].
16: And [G2532] it happened [G1096] as [G5613] they heard all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056], gave advice [G4823] each [G1538] to [G4314] the [G3588] neighbor [G4139] of him [G1473], and [G2532] they said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] Baruch, By announcing , we should announce to the [G3588] king all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] these [G3778].
17: And [G2532] the [G3588]y asked Baruch [G2065], saying [G3004], From what place [G4159] did you write [G1125] all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] these [G3778]?
18: And [G2532] Baruch said [G2036], From mouth [G4750] of Jeremiah. He announced to me [G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] these [G3778], and [G2532] I wrote [G1125] upon [G1909] a scroll .
19: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] rulers [to the [G3588] Baruch, Proceed and [G2532] be hid , you [G1473] and [G2532] Jeremiah! Let not a man [G3361] know [G1097] where [G4226] you [are [G1473]!
20: And [G2532] they entered [G1525] to [G4314] the [G3588] king , into [G1519] the [G3588] courtyard , and [G2532] the [G3588] scroll they put [G1325] to guard [G5442] in [G1722] house [G3624] of Elishama the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]). And [G2532] they announced to the [G3588] king all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] these [G3778].
21: And [G2532] sent the [G3588] king the [G3588] Jehudi to take [G2983] the [G3588] scroll . And [G2532] he took [G2983] it [G1473] from out of [G1537] house [G3624] of Elishama the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]), and [G2532] Jehudi read in [G1519] the [G3588] ears [G3775] of the [G3588] king , and [G2532] in [G1519] the [G3588] ears [G3775] of all [G3956] the [G3588] rulers the [G3588] sitting [G2476] around [G4012] the [G3588] king .
22: And [G2532] the [G3588] king was sitting [G2521] in [G1722] house [G3624] winter in [G1722] month [G3376] ninth [G1766], with [G2532] a grate of fire [G4442] in front [G2596][G4383] of him [G1473].
23: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] Jehudi having read three [G5140] columns or [G2532] four [G5064], he shred them [G1473] with the [G3588] razor of the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]), and [G2532] tossed [G4495] into [G1519] the [G3588] fire [G4442], the [G3588] [one] upon [G1909] the [G3588] grate , until [G2193] vanished [G1587] all [G3956] the [G3588] papyrus leaf [G5489] in [G1519] the [G3588] fire [G4442], the [G3588] [one] upon [G1909] the [G3588] grate .
24: And [G2532] they were not amazed [G3756][G1839], and [G2532] they tore not [G3756][G1284] the [G3588]ir garments [G2440][G1473] -- the [G3588] king and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] his servants [G3816][G1473], the [G3588] [ones] hearing all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] these [G3778].
25: And [G2532] Elnathan and [G2532] Delaiah and [G2532] Gemariah suggested [G5294] to the [G3588] king to [G4314] the [G3588] not [G3361] incinerate [G2618] the [G3588] papyrus paper .
26: And [G2532] he did not hearken to [G3756] them [G1473]. And [G2532] gave charge [G1781] the [G3588] king [to the [G3588] Jerahmeel son [G5207] of the [G3588] king , and [G2532] [to the [G3588] Saraiah son [G5207] of Azriel, and [G2532] Shelemiah son [G5207] of Abdeel, to seize [G4815] the [G3588] Baruch the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]), and [G2532] the [G3588] Jeremiah the [G3588] prophet [G4396] -- and [G2532] they were hidden .
27: And [G2532] came to pass [G1096] word [G3056] of Boss '[G2962] to [G4314] Jeremiah, after [G3326] the [G3588] incinerating [G2618] the [G3588] king the [G3588] papyrus paper [with] all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] which [G3739] Baruch wrote [G1125] from mouth [G4750] of Jeremiah, saying [G3004],
28: Again [G3825] take [G2983] to yourself [G1473] papyrus paper [scroll another [G2087], and [G2532] write [G1125] all the [G3588] words [G3056] the [G3588] being on [G1909] the [G3588] papyrus paper [scroll which [G3739] incinerated [G2618] the [G3588] king Jehoaikim]!
29: And [G2532] to [G4314] Jehoaikim, the [G3588] king of Judah, you will say [G2046], Thus [G3779] said [G2036] Boss '[G2962], You [G1473] incinerated [G2618] the [G3588] this scroll [G3778], saying [G3004], Why [G1302] did you write [G1125] upon [G1909] it [G1473], saying [G3004], In entering [G1531] will enter [G1525] king of Babylon], and [G2532] will utterly destroy [G1842] the [G3588] this land '[G1093][G3778], and [G2532] he will obliterate from it [G1473] man and [G2532] beast [G2934].
30: On account of [G1223] this [G3778] thus [G3779] said [G2036] Boss '[G2962] against [G1909] Jehoiakim king of Judah, There will not [G3756] be to him [G1473] one sitting down [G2521] upon [G1909] throne [G2362] of David; and [G2532] the [G3588] his decaying flesh [G1473] will be for tossing [G4495] in [G1722] the [G3588] sweltering heat [G2738] of the [G3588] day [G2250], and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] icy coldness of the [G3588] night [G3571].
31: And [G2532] I will visit [G1980] against [G1909] him [G1473], and [G2532] against [G1909] the [G3588] his family [G1085][G1473], and [G2532] against [G1909] the [G3588] his children [G3816][G1473] the [G3588]ir lawlessnesses [G1473]. And [G2532] I will bring [G1863] upon [G1909] them [G1473], and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in Jerusalem, and [G2532] upon [G1909] land '[G1093] of Judah, all [G3956] the [G3588] evils [G2556] which [G3739] I spoke [G2980] to [G4314] them [G1473]; and [G2532] they heard not [G3756].
32: And [G2532] Jeremiah took [G2983] papyrus paper [scroll another [G2087], and [G2532] he gave [G1325] it [G1473] [to the [G3588] Baruch son [G5207] of Neriah the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]). And [G2532] he wrote [G1125] upon [G1909] it [G1473] from mouth [G4750] of Jeremiah all the [G3588] words [G3056] of the [G3588] scroll which [G3739] incinerated [G2618] Jehoiakim king of Judah] in fire [G4442], and [G2532] still [G2089] were added [G4369] to it [G1473] words [G3056] many [G4183] as [G5613] these [G3778].
