2 Samuel Chapter 14 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] knew [G1097] Joab son [G5207] of Zeruiah] that [G3754] the [G3588] heart [G2588] of the [G3588] king [was] towards [G1909] Absalom.
2: And [G2532] Joab sent to [G1519] Tekoah, and [G2532] he took [G2983] from there [G1564] woman [G1135] a wise [G4680]. And [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] her [G1473], You mourn [G3996] indeed [G1211], and [G2532] put on [G1746] garments [G2440] mournful , and [G2532] do not [G3361] anoint [yourself with oil [G1637], and [G2532] be as [G5613] a woman [G1135] days [G2250] for many [G4183] mourning [G3996] for [G1909] one having died [G2348]!
3: And [G2532] you will come [G2240] to [G4314] the [G3588] king , and [G2532] you will speak [G2980] to [G4314] him [G1473] according to [G2596] the [G3588] this thing [G4487][G3778]. And [G2532] Joab put [G5087] the [G3588] words [G3056] into [G1909] the [G3588] her mouth [G4750][G1473].
4: And [G2532] entered [G1525] the [G3588] Tekoahite woman [G1135] the [G3588] to [G4314] the [G3588] king , and [G2532] she fell [G4098] upon [G1909] her face [G4383][G1473] to [G1519] the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] she did obeisance [G4352] to him [G1473]. And [G2532] she said [G2036], Deliver [G4982], O king , deliver [G4982]!
5: And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] her [G1473] the [G3588] king , What [G5100] to you [G1473] is it ? the [G3588] And [G1161] she said [G2036], By all means [G2532] woman [G1135] a widow [G5503] I [G1473] am , and [G2532] died the [G3588] my husband [G1473].
6: And [G2532] indeed [G1065] [to the [G3588] your maidservant [G1399][G1473] [are] two [G1417] sons [G5207], and [G2532] they quarreled [G3164] both in [G1722] the [G3588] field , and [G2532] there was no one [G3756] for the [G3588] rescuing [G1807] between them [G1473], and [G2532] hit [G3817] the [G3588] [one] [G1520] the [G3588] [one] [G1520] brother of him '[G1473], and [G2532] killed him [G2289][G1473].
7: And [G2532] look [G2400], rose up [G1881] entire [G3650] the [G3588] family [G3965] against [G4314] the [G3588] your maidservant [G1399][G1473], and [G2532] they said [G2036], Give [over] [G1325] the [G3588] [one] hitting [G3817] the [G3588] brother of him [G1473], and [G2532] we will kill him [G2289][G1473], on account of the [G3588] life [G5590] of the [G3588] brother of him [G1473] whom [G3739] he killed ; and [G2532] we will take away [G1808] the [G3588] heir [G2818]. And [G2532] [so] they will extinguish [G4570] the [G3588] my [spark] of coal [G1473], the [G3588] [one] being left behind [to me [G2641], so as [G5620] to not [G3361] establish [G5087] [to the [G3588] my husband [G1473] a vestige [G2640] and [G2532] name [G3686] upon [G1909] face [G4383] of the [G3588] land '[G1093].
8: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king to [G4314] the [G3588] woman [G1135], Go [G4198] to [G1519] the [G3588] your house [G3624][G1473] being in health [G5198]! and I [G2504] will take charge [G1781] concerning [G4012] you [G1473].
9: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] woman [G1135] the [G3588] Tekoahite] to [G4314] the [G3588] king , O my boss [G2962][G1473], O king , upon [G1909] me [G1473] [be] the [G3588] iniquity , and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473]! and [G2532] the [G3588] king and [G2532] the [G3588] throne [G2362] of him [G1473] [be] innocent !
10: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king , the [G3588] [one] speaking [G2980] to [G4314] you [G1473] a word [G4487], convey ' him [G1473] to [G4314] me [G1473]! and [G2532] in no way will anyone proceed [G4369] yet [G2089] to touch you [G1473].
11: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] woman [G1135], Let now remember [G3421] indeed [G1211] the [G3588] king the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] your God '[G2316][G1473]! to multiply [G4129] a relative for the [G3588] blood the [G3588] to utterly destroy [G1311], and [G2532] in no way take away [G1808] the [G3588] my son [G5207][G1473]. And [G2532] he said [G2036], As BOSS lives [G2198][G2962], there will not fall [G3756][G4098] off the [G3588] hair [G2359] of the [G3588] your son [G5207][G1473] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093].
12: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] woman [G1135], Let speak [G2980] indeed [G1211] the [G3588] your maidservant [G1399][G1473] to [G4314] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king a thing [G4487]! And [G2532] he said [G2036], Speak [G2980]!
13: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] woman [G1135], Why [G2444] have you imputed [G3049] thus [G3779] upon [G1909] people [G2992] of God '[G2316]? Yes [G2532], by [G1537] the [G3588] speaking [G2980] the [G3588] king the [G3588] this word [G3056][G3778] [it is] as [G5613] a trespass , the [G3588] to not [G3361] return [G1994] for the [G3588] king the [G3588] [one] being thrust away by him [G1473].
14: For [G3754] to death [G2288] we will die , and [G2532] as [G5618] the [G3588] water [G5204] the [G3588] being discharged [G1632] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093], not [G3756] being gathered together [G4863]; that [G2532] not [G3756] God will] take [G2983] the [G3588][G2316] life [G5590]; yet [G2532] he himself devises [G3049] a device [G3053] [to the [G3588] not [G3361] thrust away from him [G1473] one being thrusted away .
15: And [G2532] now [G3568] for [G5228] which [G3739] I came [G2240] to speak [G2980] to [G4314] the [G3588] king the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] this word [G3056][G3778], for [G3754] see [G3708] me [G1473] the [G3588] people [G2992]; and [G2532] will say [G2046] the [G3588] maidservant [G1399] your [G1473], Let speak [G2980] indeed [G1211] the [G3588] your maidservant [G1399][G1473] to [G4314] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king , if by any means [G1513] will do [G4160] the [G3588] king the [G3588] matter [G4487] of the [G3588] his maidservant [G3814][G1473];
16: for [G3754] will hear the [G3588] king to rescue [G4506] the [G3588] his maidservant [G1399][G1473] from out of [G1537] hand [G5495] of the [G3588] man the [G3588] seeking [G2212] to take me away [G1808][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] my son [G5207][G1473], from inheritance [G2817] of God '[G2316].
17: And [G2532] said [G2046] the [G3588] your maidservant [G1399][G1473], Let [G1096] indeed [G1211] the [G3588] word [G3056] of the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king be as an [G1519] [accepted] sacrifice [G2378]. For [G3754] as [G2531] a word-conveyer (messenger) ' of God '[G2316], thus [is [G3779] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king , the [G3588] to hear the [G3588] good [G2570] and [G2532] the [G3588] bad [G4190]; and [G2532] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473] will be with [G3326] you [G1473].
18: And [G2532] answered the [G3588] king and [G2532] said [G2036] to the [G3588] woman [G1135], You should not [G3361] indeed [G1211] hide [G2928] from me [G1473] the [G3588] matter [G4487] which [G3739] ever I [G1473] will ask [G1905] you [G1473]. And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] woman [G1135], Let speak [G2980] indeed [G1211] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king !
19: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king , [Is] not [G3361] the [G3588] hand [G5495] of Joab in [G1722] all [G3956] this [G3778] with [G3326] you [G1473]? And [G2532] answered and [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] woman [G1135] to the [G3588] king , [As] lives [G2198] the [G3588] your soul [G5590][G1473], O my boss [G2962][G1473], O king , since there is [no turning [G1487] to [G1519] the [G3588] right [G1188] or [G2228] to [G1519] the [G3588] left of [G1537] all [G3956] which [G3739] spoke [G2980] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king , for [G3754] the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473] Joab himself [G1473] gave charge [G1781] to me [G1473], and [G2532] he [G1473] put [G5087] in [G1722] the [G3588] mouth [G4750] of the [G3588] your maidservant [G1399][G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] these [G3778].
20: So as for [G1752] the [G3588] to come about [G4022] the [G3588] face [G4383] of the [G3588] this matter [G4487][G3778], prepared [G4160] the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473] Joab the [G3588] this thing [G3056][G3778]. And [G2532] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king [is] wise [G4680] as [G2531] wisdom [G4678] of a word-conveyer (messenger) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316], the [G3588] to know [G1097] all [G3956] the [things] [G3588] in [G1722] the [G3588] land '[G1093].
21: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king to [G4314] Joab, look [G2400], indeed [G1211] I do [G4160] to you [G1473] according to [G2596] the [G3588] your word [G3056][G1473] this [G3778]. Go [G4198] return [G1994] the [G3588] young man [G3808] the [G3588] Absalom!
22: And [G2532] Joab fell [G4098] upon [G1909] his face [G4383][G1473] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] did obeisance [G4352], and [G2532] blessed [G2127] the [G3588] king . And [G2532] Joab said [G2036], Today [G4594] knows [G1097] the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473] that [G3754] he found [G2147] favor [G5484] in [G1722] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473], O my boss [G2962][G1473], O king , for [G3754] did [G4160] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king the [G3588] word '[G3056] for the [G3588] his servant [G1401][G1473].
23: And [G2532] Joab rose up and [G2532] went [G4198] into [G1519] Geshur, and [G2532] he conveyed ' the [G3588] Absalom into [G1519] Jerusalem.
24: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king , Let him return to [G1519] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473], but [G2532] the [G3588] my face [G4383][G1473] let him not [G3361] see ! And [G2532] Absalom returned to [G1519] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473], but [G2532] the [G3588] face [G4383] of the [G3588] king he did not [G3756] see [G1492].
25: And [G2532] as [G5613] Absalom no [G3756] there was man in [G1722] all [G3956] Israel as praiseworthy exceedingly [G4970]. From sole [G2487] of his foot [G4228][G1473] and [G2532] unto [G2193] top of his [head [G1473] -- there was not [G3756] on [G1722] him [G1473] a blemish [G3470].
26: And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] his shearing [G2751][G1473] the [G3588] his head [G2776][G1473], and [G2532] it took place [G1096] at end [G5056] of days [G2250] unto [G1519] days [G2250] that [G3754] he sheared it [G2751], for [G3754] it became burdensome [G2599] upon [G1909] him [G1473]; and [G2532] shearing [G2751], he set [aside [G2476] the [G3588] hair [G2359] of the [G3588] his head [G2776][G1473] two hundred [G1250] shekels of [G1722] the [G3588] scale-weight the [G3588] royal .
27: And [G2532] there was born to [G5088] the [G3588] Absalom three [G5140] sons [G5207] and [G2532] daughter [G2364] one [G1520], and [G2532] name [G3686] of her [G1473] [was] Tamar, she [G3778] was woman [G1135] goodly [G2570] an exceedingly [G4970].
28: And [G2532] Absalom sat down [G2523] in [G1722] Jerusalem two [G1417] years [G2094] of days [G2250], and [G2532] the [G3588] face [G4383] of the [G3588] king he did not [G3756] see [G1492].
29: And [G2532] Absalom sent for [G4314] Joab the [G3588] to send him [G1473] to [G4314] the [G3588] king , and [G2532] he did not [G3756] want [G2309] to come [G2064] to [G4314] him [G1473]. And [G2532] he sent again [G2089] second [time] [G1537][G1208] to [G4314] him [G1473], and [G2532] he did not [G3756] want [G2309] to come [G3854].
30: And [G2532] Absalom said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] his servants [G1401][G1473], You know [G1492] the [G3588] portion [G3310] in [G1722] field of the [G3588] Joab being next to [G2192] mine [G1473], and [G2532] to him [G1473] [is] barley there [G1563][G2915]. You go [G4198] and [G2532] burn [G1714] it [G1473] by [G1722] fire [G4442]! And [G2532] burned [G1714] the [G3588] servants [G1401] of Absalom] by [G1722] fire [G4442] the [G3588] portion [of the field [G3310] of Joab.
31: And [G2532] Joab rose up , and [G2532] came [G2064] to [G4314] Absalom, to [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3624], and [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473], Why did [G2444] set on fire the [G3588] your servants [G1401][G1473] the [G3588] my field [G1473] with [G1722] fire [G4442]?
32: And [G2532] Absalom said [G2036] to [G4314] Joab, look [G2400], I sent to [G4314] you [G1473], saying [G3004], Come [G2240] here [G5602]! And [G2532] I will send you [G1473] to [G4314] the [G3588] king , saying [G3004], Why did [G2444] I come [G2064] from out of [G1537] Geshur? good for me [G1473] It was the [G3588] to be there [G1563]. And [G2532] now [G3568], I will see [G3708] indeed [G1211] face [G4383] of the [G3588] king , and [G2532] if [G1487] there is in [G1722] me [G1473] iniquity then [G2532] I will be killed [G2289].
33: And [G2532] Joab went [G4198] to [G4314] the [G3588] king , and [G2532] reported to him [G1473]. And [G2532] he called [G2564] the [G3588] Absalom, and [G2532] he entered [G1525] to [G4314] the [G3588] king , and [G2532] he did obeisance [G4352] to him [G1473] and [G2532] fell [G4098] upon [G1909] his face [G4383][G1473] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093] before [G1799] the [G3588] king . And [G2532] kissed [G2705] the [G3588] king the [G3588] Absalom.
