Luke Chapter 16 - | Early Church Bible

1: And he said [G3004][G1161] also [G2532] to [G4314] the [G3588] trainees '[G3101] of him [G1473], A man certain [G5100] was rich [G4145], who [G3739] had [G2192] a manager [G3623]; and [G2532] this one [G3778] was accused [G1225] by him [G1473] as [G5613] wasting [G1287] the [G3588] possessions [G5224] of him [G1473].
2: And [G2532] having called [G5455] him [G1473], he said [G2036] to him [G1473], What [G5100] of this [G3778] I hear concerning [G4012] you [G1473]? Render the [G3588] reckoning [G3056] of the [G3588] management [G3622]; not [G3756] for [G1063] you [are] able [G1410] any more [G2089] to manage [G3621].
3: said [G2036] And [G1161] to [G1722] himself [G1438] the [G3588] manager [G3623], What [G5100] will I do [G4160], for [G3754] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] removes the [G3588] management [G3622] from me [G1473]? to dig [G4626] I am not [G3756] strong enough [G2480]; to beg [G1871] I am ashamed .
4: I know [G1097] what [G5100] I will do [G4160] that [G2443] whenever [G3752] should be changed over [G3179] the [G3588] management [G3622], [that] they will receive [G1209] me [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588]ir houses [G3624][G1473].
5: And [G2532] calling on [G4341] one [G1520] each [G1538] of the [G3588] debtors [G5533] of the [G3588] his boss [G2962][G1438], he said [G3004] to the [G3588] first [G4413], How much [G4214] do you owe [G3784] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473]?
6: And the [G3588][G1161] he said [G2036], A hundred [G1540] baths of olive oil [G1637]. And [G2532] he said [G2036] to him [G1473], Take [G1209] your [G1473] the [G3588] invoice [G1121], and [G2532] sitting down [G2523], quickly [G5030] write [G1125] fifty [G4004]!
7: Thereupon [G1899] to another [G2087] he said [G2036], And you [G1473][G1161], how much [G4214] do you owe [G3784]? And the [G3588][G1161] he said [G2036], A hundred [G1540] cors [G2884] of grain [G4621]. And [G2532] he says [G3004] to him [G1473], You take [G1209][G1473] the [G3588] invoice [G1121], and [G2532] write [G1125] eighty [G3589]!
8: And [G2532] praised [G1867] the [G3588] boss [G2962] the [G3588] manager [G3623] the [G3588] unrighteous for [G3754] with practicality [G5430] he acted [G4160]. For [G3754] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of the [G3588] this age (term) `[G3778] [are] more practical [G5429] than [G5228] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of the [G3588] light [G5457] in [G1519] the [G3588] generation [G1074] the [G3588]ir own [G1438] are .
9: And I [G2504] say to you [G1473][G3004], Make [G4160] to yourselves [G1438] friends [G5384] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] mammon [G3126] of the [G3588] unrighteous , that [G2443] whenever [G3752] you fail [G1587], they should receive [G1209] you [G1473] into [G1519] of the [G3588] term (age) ' tents [G4633].
10: the [one] [G3588] trustworthy [G4103] in [G1722] least [G1646] also [G2532] in [G1722] much [G4183] is trustworthy [G4103]; and [G2532] the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] least [G1646] unjust also [G2532] in [G1722] much [G4183] is unjust .
11: If [G1487] then [G3767] in [G1722] the [G3588] unjust mammon [G3126] trustworthy [G4103] you were not [G3756][G1096], the [G3588] true who [G5100] to you [G1473] will trust '[G4100]?
12: And [G2532] if [G1487] in [G1722] [that which is the [G3588] a stranger's trustworthy [G4103] you were not [G3756][G1096], the [G3588] your own [G5212] who [G5100] to you [G1473] will give [G1325]?
13: No [G3762] servant [G3610] is able [G1410] two [G1417] bosses [G2962] to serve [G1398]; for either [G2228][G1063] the [G3588] [one] [G1520] he will detest [G3404], and [G2532] the [G3588] other [G2087] he will love ; or [G2228] one [G1520] he will hold to , and [G2532] the [G3588] other [G2087] disdain [G2706]. Not [G3756] you are able [G1410] God '[G2316] to serve [G1398] and [G2532] mammon [G3126].
14: heard And [G1161] all these [things] [G3778][G3956][G2532] the [G3588] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]) fond of money [G5366] being [G5224], and [G2532] they derided [G1592] him [G1473].
15: And [G2532] he said [G2036] to them [G1473], You [G1473] are the [G3588] [ones] justifying [G1344] yourselves [G1438] before [G1799] the [G3588] men , the [G3588] but [G1161] God '[G2316] knows [G1097] the [G3588] your hearts [G2588][G1473]. For [G3754] the [G3588] in [G1722] men lofty [thing] [G5308] an abomination before [G1799] the [G3588] God '[G2316] is .
16: The [G3588] law [G3551] and [G2532] the [G3588] prophets [were [G4396] until [G2193] John. From then [G5119] the [G3588] government ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316] is good-word-conveyed '[G2097], and [G2532] every one [G3956] into [G1519] it [G1473] forces .
17: But easier [G2123][G1161] it is [for] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] and [G2532] the [G3588] land '[G1093] to pass away [G3928], than [G2228] of the [G3588] law [G3551] [for] one [G1520] dot [G2762] to fall [G4098].
18: Every one [G3956] the [G3588] divorcing the [G3588] his wife [G1135][G1473], and [G2532] marrying [G1060] another [G2087], commits adultery [G3431]; and [G2532] every one [G3956] the [G3588] [one] being divorced from a husband marrying [G1060], commits adultery [G3431].
19: man And [G1161] a certain [G5100] was rich [G4145], and [G2532] dressed in [G1737] purple [G4209] and [G2532] linen [G1040], being merry [G2165] daily [G2596][G2250] [and] glowing [G2988].
20: one begging [G4434] And [G1161] a certain [G5100] there was , by name [G3686] Lazarus, who [G3739] was laid at [G4314] the [G3588] his gatehouse [G4440][G1473], one having sores [G1669],
21: and [G2532] desiring [G1937] to be filled [G5526] from the [G3588] crumbs [G5589] of the [G3588] [ones] falling [G4098] from the [G3588] table [G5132] of the [G3588] rich man [G4145]. And also [G2532] the [G3588] dogs [G2965] coming [G2064] licked the [G3588] his sores [G1668][G1473].
22: And it came to pass for [G1096][G1161] to die the [G3588] [one] begging [G4434], and [G2532] for him to be carried [G1473] by [G5259] the [G3588] word-conveyers (messengers) ' into [G1519] the [G3588] bosom [G2859] of the [G3588] Abraham. And died [G1161] also [G2532] the [G3588] rich man [G4145], and [G2532] was buried [G2290].
23: And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] Hades having lifted up [G1869] the [G3588] his eyes [G3788][G1473] being [G5224] in [G1722] torment , he sees [G3708] the [G3588] Abraham from far off [G3113], and [G2532] Lazarus in [G1722] the [G3588] his enfolded arms [G2859][G1473].
24: And [G2532] he [G1473] speaking out loud [G5455], said [G2036], O father [G3962] Abraham, show compassion [G1653] on me [G1473], and [G2532] send forth [G3992] Lazarus that [G2443] he should dip the [G3588] tip of the [G3588] his finger [G1147][G1473] in water [G5204], and [G2532] should cool [G2711] the [G3588] my tongue [G1100][G1473]; for [G3754] I grieve [G3600] in [G1722] the [G3588] this flame [G5395][G3778].
25: said [G2036] And [G1161] Abraham], Son [G5043], remember [G3403] that [G3754] you accepted [G1473] the [G3588] good [things] of yours [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] your life [G2222][G1473], and [G2532] Lazarus in like manner [G3668] the [G3588] bad [G2556]. But now [G3568][G1161] thus [G3592] he is comforted [G3870], but you [G1473][G1161] grieve [G3600].
26: And [G2532] upon [G1909] all [G3956] these [things] [G3778], between [G3342] us [G1473] and [G2532] you [G1473] chasm [G5490] [is] a great [G3173] firmly fixed [G4741]; so that [G3704] the [G3588] [ones] wanting [G2309] to pass over [G1224] on this side to [G4314] you [G1473] are not [G3361] able [G1410], nor [G3366] the [G3588] [ones] from there [G1564] to [G4314] us [G1473] should pass through [G1276].
27: And he said [G2036][G1161], I ask [G2065] then [G3767] you [G1473], O father [G3962], that [G2443] you should send him forth [G3992][G1473] unto [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473].
28: For I have [G2192][G1063] five [G4002] brothers , so that [G3704] he should testify [G1263] to them [G1473], that [G2443] not [G3361] also [G2532] they [G1473] [should] come [G2064] unto [G1519] the [G3588] this place [G5117][G3778] of the [G3588] torment .
29: says [G3004] And [G1473] Abraham], They have [G2192] Moses and [G2532] the [G3588] prophets [G4396], let them hear them [G1473]!
30: But the [G3588][G1161] he said [G2036], No [G3780], O father [G3962] Abraham; but if [G1437] one [G5100] from dead [G3498] should go [G4198] to [G4314] them [G1473], they will repent [G3340].
31: And he said [G2036][G1161] to him [G1473], If [G1487] Moses and [G2532] the [G3588] prophets [G4396] they did not [G3756] hear , not even [G3761] if [G1437] one [G5100] from [G1537] dead [G3498] should rise up will they be yielded [G3982].
