Isaiah Chapter 37 -

1
And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] hearing the [G3588] king Hezekiah], [that] he split [G4977] the [G3588] his garments [G2440][G1473], and [G2532] put on [G4016] sackcloth [G4526], and [G2532] went up unto [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962].
2
And [G2532] he sent the [G3588] Eliakim the [G3588] manager [G3623], and [G2532] Shebna the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]) (with [G2532] the [G3588] elders [G4245] of the [G3588] priests [G2409] putting on [G4016] sackcloths [G4526]) to [G4314] Isaiah son [G5207] of Amoz the [G3588] prophet [G4396].
3
And [G2532] they said [G2036] to him [G1473], Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Hezekiah, A day [G2250] of affliction [G2347], and [G2532] scorning [G3680], and [G2532] rebuke , and [G2532] anger [G3709] the [G3588] [is] today's [G4594] day [G2250]. For [G3754] come [G2240] the [G3588] pangs [G5604] of the [G3588] giving birth [G5088], strength [G2479] but [G1161] she does not [G3756] have [G2192] the [G3588] to give birth [G5088].
4
If by any means [G1513] may listen to [G1522] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] your God '[G2316][G1473] the [G3588] words [G3056] of Rabshakeh, whom [G3739] sent king of Assyrians the [G3588] his boss [G2962][G1473] to berate [G3679] God '[G2316] living [G2198], and [G2532] to berate [G3679] [by the] words [G3056] which [G3739] heard Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] your God '[G2316][G1473], therefore [G2532] you will make beseechment [G1189] to [G4314] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473] concerning [G4012] the [G3588]se being left [G2641][G3778].
5
And [G2532] came [G2064] the [G3588] servants [G3816] of the [G3588] king Hezekiah] to [G4314] Isaiah.
6
And [G2532] said [G2036] to them [G1473] Isaiah], Thus [G3779] you will say [G2046] to [G4314] the [G3588] your boss [G2962][G1473], Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], You should not [G3361] be fearful [G5399] off the [G3588] words [G3056] which [G3739] you heard , which [G3739] berated [G3679] me [G1473] the [G3588] ambassadors of king of Assyrians].
7
look [G2400], I [G1473] will put [G1685] upon [G1909] him [G1473] a wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151], and [G2532] hearing a word-conveyed (message) ' he will return unto [G1519] the [G3588] his place [G5561][G1473], and [G2532] he will fall [G4098] [by the] sword [G3162] in [G1722] the [G3588] his land '[G1093][G1473].
8
And [G2532] Rabshakeh returned , and [G2532] overtook [G2638] the [G3588] king of Assyrians while assaulting Libna, for [G2532] he heard that [G3754] he departed from Lachish.
9
And [G2532] there came forth [G1831] Tirhakah king of the Ethiopians the [G3588] to assault him [G1473]; and [G2532] hearing he returned and [G2532] sent word-conveyers (messengers) ' to [G4314] Hezekiah, saying [G3004],
10
Thus [G3779] you will say [G2046] to Hezekiah king of the [G3588] Judea, Let not [G3361] deceive you [G1473] the [G3588] your God '[G2316][G1473]! upon [G1909] whom [G3739] you [G1473] rely [G3982] upon [G1909] him [G1473], saying [G3004], In no way will Jerusalem be delivered up [G3860] into [G1722] hand [G5495] of king of Assyrians.
11
look [G2400], [have] you [G1473] not [G3756] heard what [G3739] did [G4160] kings of Assyrians], whole [G3956] the [G3588] land '[G1093] how [G5613] they destroyed ? and [G2532] will you [G1473] be rescued [G4506]?
12
[Have [G3361] rescued [G4506] them [G1473] the [G3588] gods '[G2316] of the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] whom [G3739] destroyed the [G3588] my fathers [G3962][G1473], the [G3588] both [G5037] Gozan, and [G2532] Haran, and [G2532] Rezeph, which [G3739] are in [G1722] place [G5561] of Telassar?
13
Where [G4226] are the [G3588] kings of Hamath? and [G2532] where [G4226] [is] Arphad? and [G2532] where [G4226] [is the] city [G4172] Sepharvaim, Henah and [G2532] Ivah?
14
And [G2532] Hezekiah took [G2983] the [G3588] scroll from [G3844] the [G3588] word-conveyers (messengers) ', and [G2532] read it [G1473]. And [G2532] he went up into [G1519] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] opened it [G1473] before [G1726] Boss '[G2962].
15
And [G2532] Hezekiah prayed [G4336] to [G4314] Boss '[G2962], saying [G3004],
16
O Boss '[G2962] of Hosts [G4519], the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel, the [G3588] [one] sitting [G2521] upon [G1909] the [G3588] cherubim [G5502]. You [G1473] are the [G3588] God '[G2316] alone [G3441] of every [G3956] government ' of the [G3588] world [G3611]. You [G1473] made [G4160] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] and [G2532] the [G3588] land '[G1093].
17
Lean [G2827], O Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] your ear [G3775][G1473]! Hearken [G1522], O Boss '[G2962]! Open , O Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473]! Look in , O Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] know [G1492] and [G2532] hear all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] of Sennacherib! which [G3739] he sent to berate [G3679] God '[G2316] living [G2198].
18
in [G1909] truth For [G1063], O Boss '[G2962], made desolate [G2049] kings of Assyrians] the [G3588] inhabitable world [G3611] entire [G3650], and [G2532] the [G3588]ir region [G5561][G1473].
19
And [G2532] they raised the [G3588]ir idols [G1497][G1473] unto [G1519] the [G3588] fire [G4442], not [G3756] for [G1063] gods '[G2316] they were , but works [G2041] of hands [G5495] of men , wood [G3586] and [G2532] stones [G3037] -- and [G2532] they destroyed them [G1473].
20
But now [G3568][G1161], O Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473], deliver [G4982] us [G1473] from out of [G1537] his hand [G5495][G1473]! that [G2443] should know [G1097] every [G3956] government ' of the [G3588] land '[G1093] that [G3754] you [G1473] are the [G3588] God '[G2316] alone [G3441].
21
And [G2532] was sent Isaiah son [G5207] of Amoz] to [G4314] Hezekiah. And [G2532] he said [G2036] to him [G1473], Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel, I heard what [G3739] you prayed [G4336] to [G4314] me [G1473] concerning [G4012] Sennacherib king of Assyrians.
22
This [is [G3778] the [G3588] word [G3056] which [G3739] spoke [G2980] concerning [G4012] him [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316]; treated you as worthless [G1473] and [G2532] sneered at [G3456] you [G1473] virgin [G3933] daughter [G2364] of Zion]; against [G1909] you [G1473] [her] head [G2776] shook [G2795] daughter [G2364] of Jerusalem].
23
Whom [G5100] did you berate [G3679] and [G2532] provoke [G3947]? or [G2228], to [G4314] whom [G5100] did you raise up high [G5312] the [G3588] your voice [G5456][G1473] and [G2532] lift unto [G1519] height [G5311] the [G3588] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473] against [G4314] the [G3588] holy one of the [G3588] Israel?
24
For [G3754] through [G1223] word-conveyers (messengers) ' you berated [G3679] Boss '[G2962]. For you [G1473][G1063] said [G2036], With the [G3588] multitude [G4128] of the [G3588] chariots I [G1473] will go up unto [G1519] height [G5311] of raised-places (mountains) '[G3735], and [G2532] into [G1519] the [G3588] ends [G2078] of the [G3588] Lebanon; and [G2532] I felled [G2875] the [G3588] height [G5311] of its cedar [G2748][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] beauty of the [G3588] cypress ; and [G2532] I entered [G1525] unto [G1519] height [G5311] of portion [G3313] of for the [G3588]est ;
25
and [G2532] I made [G5087] a dam , and [G2532] made desolate [G2049] waters [G5204] and [G2532] every [G3956] gathering [G4864] of water [G5204].
26
[Have] you not [G3756] heard these [things] [G3778] earlier [G3819] which [G3739] I [G1473] did [G4160]? From [G1537] days [G2250] ancient I ordered it [G4929]. But now [G3568][G1161] I displayed [G1925] to make desolate tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] in [G1722] fortified [places , and [G2532] ones living [G3611] in [G1722] cities [G4172] fortified .
27
I weakened the [G3588] hands [G5495], and [G2532] they were dried up [G3583]; and [G2532] they became [G1096] as [G5613] grass [G5528] dry [G3584] upon [G1909] roofs [G1430], and [G2532] as [G5613] wild grass .
28
But now [G3568][G1161] the [G3588] your rest [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] your exit [G1841][G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] your entrance [G1529][G1473] I [G1473] know [G1987],
29
the [G3588] and [G1161] your rage [G2372][G1473] which [G3739] you were enraged [G2373]. And [G2532] the [G3588] your bitterness [G4088][G1473] went up to [G4314] me [G1473]. And [G2532] I will put [G1685] a rein into [G1519] the [G3588] your nose [G1473], and [G2532] a bit [G5469] into [G1519] the [G3588] your lips [G5491][G1473], and [G2532] I will return you [G1473] in the [G3588] way [G3598] in which [G3739] you came [G2064] by [G1722] it [G1473].
30
And this [G3778][G1161] to you [G1473] [is] the [G3588] sign [G4592], Eat [G2068] this [G3778] the [G3588] year [G1763] what [G3739] you have sown [G4687]; and the [G3588][G1161] year [G1763] the [G3588] second [G1208] the [G3588] vestige left [G2640]; and the [G3588][G1161] third [year [G5154], sow [G4687], [and] reap , and [G2532] plant [G5452] vineyards , and [G2532] eat [G2068] of the [G3588]ir fruit [G2590][G1473]!
31
And [G2532] they will be the [G3588] [ones] being left behind [G2641] in [G1722] the [G3588] Judea. They will germinate [G5453] a root [G4491] below [G2736], and [G2532] they will produce [G4160] grain [G4690] upward .
32
For [G3754] from out of [G1537] Jerusalem will come forth [G1831] the [G3588] [ones] surviving [G2641], and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] being preserved [G4982] from out of [G1537] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] Zion. the [G3588] zeal [G2205] of Boss '[G2962] of Hosts [G4519] will do [G4160] these [things] [G3778].
33
Therefore [G1223][G3778] thus [G3779] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962] concerning [G1909] king of Assyrians, In no way will he enter [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] this city [G4172][G3778], nor throw against [G1909] it [G1473] an arrow , nor will he put [G1911] against [G1909] it [G1473] a shield [G2375], nor [G3761] will [G3361] he encircle [G2944] against [G1909] it [G1473] a siege mound [G5482].
34
But in the [G3588] way [G3598] in which [G3739] he came [G2064] by [G1909] it [G1473], he will return ; and [G2532] into [G1519] the [G3588] this city [G4172][G3778] in no way will he enter [G1525]. Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962].
35
I will shield over [G5228] the [G3588] this city [G4172][G3778] the [G3588] to deliver [G4982] it [G1473], because of [G1223] myself [G1473] and [G2532] because of [G1223] David the [G3588] my servant [G3816][G1473].
36
And [G2532] came forth [G1831] a word-conveyer (messenger) ' [of the] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] he did away with [G1537] the [G3588] camp [G3925] of the [G3588] Assyrians -- a hundred [G1540] eighty-five thousand [G5505]. And [G2532] rising up in the morning [G4404] he found [G2147] all [G3956] the [G3588] bodies [G4983] dead [G3498].
37
And [G2532] he went forth returning . And [G2532] returned Sennacherib king of Assyrians], and [G2532] lived [G3611] in [G1722] Nineveh.
38
And [G2532] while [G1722] the [G3588] he [G1473] did obeisance [G4352] in [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Nisroch his god [G2316][G1473], Adrammelech and [G2532] Sharezer the [G3588] his sons [G5207][G1473] struck [G3960] him [G1473] with swords [G3162]; and they [G1473][G1161] came through safe [G1295] into [G1519] Armenia. And [G2532] took reign Esar-haddon the [G3588] son [G5207] of him [G1473] instead of him [G1473].
