1 Samuel Chapter 22 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] David went forth from there [G1564], and [G2532] came through safe [G1295]. And [G2532] he comes [G2064] to [G1519] the [G3588] cave [G4693] of the [G3588] Odollam, and [G2532] hear the [G3588] brothers of him [G1473], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473], and [G2532] they went down [G2597] to [G4314] him [G1473] there [G1563].
2: And [G2532] gathered together [G4863] with [G4314] him [G1473] every one [G3956] in [G1722] necessity , and [G2532] every [G3956] debtor , and [G2532] all [G3956] in severe pain of the soul [G5590]; and [G2532] he was over [G1909] them [G1473], taking the lead [G2233]. And [G2532] there were with [G3326] him [G1473] about [G5613] four hundred [G5071] men .
3: And [G2532] David went forth from there [G1564] unto [G1519] Mizpeh the [G3588] of Moab. And [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] king of Moab, Let [G1096] indeed [G1211] the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] my mother [G3384][G1473] [be] by [G3844] you [G1473], until [G2193] whenever [G3748] I know [G1097] what [G5100] will do [G4160] to me [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316].
4: And [G2532] he appealed to [G3870] the [G3588] person [G4383] of the [G3588] king of Moab. And [G2532] they dwelt [G2730] with [G3326] him [G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250] of David being the [G3588] in [G1722] the [G3588] citadel [G4042].
5: And [G2532] said [G2036] Gad the [G3588] prophet [G4396] to [G4314] David, Do not [G3361] settle [G2521] in [G1722] the [G3588] citadel [G4042]. Go [G4198]! and [G2532] you will come [G2240] into [G1519] land '[G1093] of Judah. And [G2532] David went [G4198], and [G2532] came [G2064] and [G2532] sat down [G2523] in [G1722] city [G4172] Hareth.
6: And [G2532] Saul heard that [G3754] David was known [G1097], and [G2532] the [G3588] men the [G3588] with [G3326] him [G1473]. And [G2532] Saul stayed [G2521] on [G1722] the [G3588] hill [G1015] by [G5259] the [G3588] plowed field , the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] Ramah, and [G2532] the [G3588] spear was in [G1722] the [G3588] his hand [G5495][G1473], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] his servants [G3816][G1473] stood beside [G3936] him [G1473].
7: And [G2532] Saul said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] his servants [G3816][G1473], of the [G3588] [ones] standing beside [G3936] him [G1473], Hear indeed [G1211], O sons [G5207] of Benjamin! will [G1487] truly all [G3956] to you [G1473] give [G1325] the [G3588] son [G5207] of Jesse] fields and [G2532] vineyards ? And [G2532] all [G3956] you [G1473] will he arrange [G5021] [as] commanders of hundreds [G1543], and [G2532] commanders of thousands [G5506]?
8: For [G3754] situated together you [are] all [G3956][G1473] against [G1909] me [G1473], and [G2532] there not [G3756] is the [G3588] [one] uncovering the [G3588] my ear [G5621][G1473], in [G1722] that the [G3588] ordains [G1303] the [G3588] my son [G5207][G1473] a covenant [G1242] with [G3326] the [G3588] son [G5207] of Jesse. And [G2532] there is [G3756] the [G3588] [one] toiling for [G4012] me [G1473] from [G1537] you [G1473], and [G2532] uncovering the [G3588] my ear [G5621][G1473]. For [G3754] raised up [G1892] the [G3588] my son [G5207][G1473] the [G3588] my servant [G1401][G1473] against [G1909] me [G1473] for [G1519] an enemy [G2190], as [G5613] the [G3588] [it is] this day [G2250][G3778]?
9: And [G2532] answered Doeg the [G3588] Edomite], the [G3588] [one] placed [G2525] over [G1909] the [G3588] mules of Saul. And [G2532] he said [G2036], I saw [G3708] the [G3588] son [G5207] of Jesse coming [G3854] into [G1519] Nob, to [G4314] Ahimelech son [G5207] of Ahitub the [G3588] priest [G2409].
10: And [G2532] he asked [G2065] him [G1473] concerning [G1223] the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] provisions [G1979] he gave [G1325] to him [G1473]; and [G2532] the [G3588] broadsword [G4501] of Goliath the [G3588] Philistine he gave [G1325] to him [G1473].
11: And [G2532] sent the [G3588] king to call [G2564] the [G3588] Ahimelech son [G5207] of Ahitub the [G3588] priest [G2409], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473] of the [G3588] priests [G2409], of the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Nob. And [G2532] they all came [G3854][G3956] to [G4314] the [G3588] king .
12: And [G2532] Saul said [G2036], Hear indeed [G1211], O son [G5207] of Ahitub! And [G2532] he said [G2036], look [G2400], [it is] I [G1473]. Speak [G2980], O boss [G2962]!
13: And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] Saul], Why did [G2444] you agree [G4934] against [G2596] me [G1473], you [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] son [G5207] of Jesse, for the [G3588] you to give [G1325][G1473] him [G1473] bread , and [G2532] a broadsword [G4501], and [G2532] should ask [G2065] on his account [G1473][G1223] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], the [G3588] to put [G5087] him [G1473] against [G1909] me [G1473] for [G1519] an enemy [G2190], as [he is [G5613] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778]?
14: And [G2532] Ahimelech answered to the [G3588] king , and [G2532] said [G2036], And [G2532] who [G5100] among [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] your servants [G1401][G1473] [is] trustworthy [G4103] as [G5613] David, and [G2532] son-in-law of the [G3588] king , and [G2532] one in charge of all [G3956] your mobilization order [G1473], and [G2532] honorable [G1741] in [G1722] the [G3588] your house [G3624][G1473]?
15: Or [G2228] today [G4594] have I begun to ask [G2065] for him [G1473] through [G1223] the [G3588] God '[G2316]? By no means [G3365]. Let not [G3361] impute [G1325] the [G3588] king concerning [G2596] of the [G3588] his servant [G1401][G1473] word [G3056], and [G2532] against [G1909] entire [G3650] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473], for [G3754] knew not [G3756][G1492] the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473] in [G1722] any [G3956] of these [things] [G3778], a matter [G4487] small [G3397] or [G2228] great [G3173].
16: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king Saul], To death [G2288] Ahimelech should die , you [G1473] and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of you [G1473].
17: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king to the [G3588] bodyguards , to the [G3588] [ones] standing [G2186] by [G1909] him [G1473], Lead forward [G4317], and [G2532] put to death [G2289] the [G3588] priests [G2409] of the [G3588] Boss '[G2962]! for [G3754] the [G3588]ir hand [G5495][G1473] [is] with [G3326] David, for [G1360] they knew [G1097] that [G3754] he fled [G5343][G1473], and [G2532] they did not [G3756] uncover the [G3588] my ear [G5621][G1473]. And [G2532] would not [G3756][G1014] the [G3588] servants [G3816] of the [G3588] king bear [G2018] the [G3588]ir hands [G5495][G1473] to encounter against [G1519] the [G3588] priests [G2409] of Boss '[G2962].
18: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king the [G3588] to Doeg, You turn [G1994][G1473], and [G2532] encounter [G1519] the [G3588] priests [G2409]! And [G2532] turned [G1994] Doeg the [G3588] Edomite], and [G2532] put to death [G2289] the [G3588] priests [G2409] of the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] in [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565] -- eighty-five men , all [G3956] bearing an ephod .
19: And [G2532] the [G3588] Nob, the [G3588] city [G4172] of the [G3588] priests [G2409], he struck [G3960] with [G1722] mouth [G4750] of broadsword [G4501], from man unto [G2193] woman [G1135], from infant [G3516] and [G2532] unto [G2193] one nursing [G2337], and [G2532] from calf [G3448] and [G2532] donkey [G3688] and [G2532] sheep [G4263], he struck [G3960] by [G1722] mouth [G4750] of broadsword [G4501].
20: And [G2532] came through safe [G1295] son [G5207] one [G1520] of the [G3588] Ahimelech son [G5207] of Ahitub], and [G2532] name [G3686] to him [G1473] [was] Abiathar, and [G2532] he fled [G5343] after [G3694] David.
21: And [G2532] Abiathar reported [to the [G3588] David that [G3754] Saul put to death [G2289] all [G3956] the [G3588] priests [G2409] of the [G3588] Boss '[G2962].
22: And [G2532] David said [G2036] [to the [G3588] Abiathar, For I knew [G1492][G3754] in [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565], that [G3754] Doeg the [G3588] Edomite, that [G3754] in reporting he would report the [G3588] to Saul. I [G1473] am the [G3588] [one] at fault for the [G3588] lives [G5590] of all [G3650] house [G3624] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of you [G1473].
23: You sit down [G2521] with [G3326] me [G1473]! Do not [G3361] fear [G5399]! for [G3754] where [G3739] ever [G1437] I seek [G2212] for the [G3588] my life [G5590][G1473], I will seek [G2212] also [G2532] for the [G3588] your life [G5590][G1473] a place [G5117]; for [G3754] you are guarded [G5442][G1473] by [G3844] me [G1473].
