1: look [at] [G1492]! what kind of [G4217] love has given [G1325] to us [G1473] the [G3588] father [G3962], that [G2443] children [G5043] of God '[G2316] we should be called [G2564]. On account of [G1223] this [G3778] the [G3588] arrangement '[G2889] does not [G3756] know [G1097] us [G1473], because [G3754] it did not [G3756] know [G1097] him [G1473].
2: Beloved , now [G3568] children [G5043] of God '[G2316] we are , and [G2532] not yet [G3768] was it manifested [G5319] what [G5100] we will be ; but we know [G1492][G1161] that [G3754] if [G1437] he should be manifested [G5319], likened [G3664] to him [G1473] we will be ; for [G3754] we will see [G3708] him [G1473] as [G2531] he is .
3: And [G2532] every [one [G3956] the [G3588] having [G2192] the [G3588] this hope [G1680][G3778] upon [G1909] him [G1473], purifies himself [G1438], as [G2531] that one [G1565] is pure .
4: Every [one [G3956] the [G3588] committing [G4160] the [G3588] sin , also [G2532] the [G3588] lawlessness commits [G4160]; and [G2532] the [G3588] sin is the [G3588] lawlessness .
5: And [G2532] you know [G1492] that [G3754] that one [G1565] was made manifest [G5319], that [G2443] the [G3588] our sins [G1473] he should lift away ; and [G2532] sin in [G1722] him [G1473] not [G3756] is .
6: Anyone [G3956] the [G3588] in [G1722] him [G1473] abiding [G3306], does not [G3756] sin ; anyone [G3956] the [G3588] sinning has not [G3756] seen [G3708] him [G1473] nor [G3761] has known [G1097] him [G1473].
7: Sons [G5040], let no one [G3367] mislead [G4105] you [G1473]! the [G3588] [one] executing [G4160] the [G3588] righteousness [G1343] is righteous [G1342], as [G2531] that one [G1565] is righteous [G1342].
8: the [one] [G3588] committing [G4160] the [G3588] sin of [G1537] the [G3588] devil [G1228] is , for [G3754] from beginning the [G3588] devil [G1228] sins . For [G1519] this [G3778] was made manifest [G5319] the [G3588] son [G5207] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], that [G2443] he should loosen [G3089] the [G3588] works [G2041] of the [G3588] devil [G1228].
9: Anyone [G3956] the [G3588] engendered [G1080] of [G1537] the [G3588] God '[G2316], sin does not [G3756] commit [G4160], for [G3754] his seed [G4690][G1473] in [G1722] him [G1473] abides [G3306]; and [G2532] he is not [G3756] able [G1410] to sin , because [G3754] by [G1537] the [G3588] God '[G2316] he has been engendered [G1080].
10: In [G1722] this [G3778] are apparent [G5318] the [G3588] children [G5043] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] the [G3588] children [G5043] of the [G3588] devil [G1228]. Every [one [G3956] the [G3588] not [G3361] executing [G4160] righteousness [G1343] not [G3756] is of [G1537] the [G3588] God '[G2316], even [G2532] the [G3588] [one] not [G3361] loving the [G3588] brother of him [G1473].
11: For [G3754] this [G3778] is the [G3588] word-conveyed (message) ' which [G3739] you heard from beginning , that [G2443] we should love one another .
12: Not [G3756] as [G2531] Cain of [G1537] the [G3588] wicked one [G4190] [who] was , and [G2532] slew [G4969] the [G3588] brother of him [G1473]. And [G2532] for what favor [G5484][G5100] did he slay [G4969] him [G1473]? because [G3754] the [G3588] his works [G2041][G1473] [were] wicked [G4190], but the [G3588] [ones] [G1161] of the [G3588] brother of him [G1473] righteous [G1342].
13: Do not [G3361] marvel [G2296], my brothers [G1473], if [G1487] detests [G3404] you [G1473] the [G3588] arrangement '[G2889]!
14: We [G1473] know [G1492] that [G3754] we have crossed over [G3327] from [G1537] the [G3588] death [G2288] into [G1519] the [G3588] life [G2222], for [G3754] we love the [G3588] brothers . the [G3588] [one] not [G3361] loving the [G3588] brothers , abides [G3306] in [G1722] the [G3588] death [G2288].
15: Every [one [G3956] the [G3588] detesting [G3404] the [G3588] brother of him [G1473] is a man-killer ; and [G2532] you know [G1492] that [G3754] every [G3956] man-killer does not [G3756] have [G2192] life [G2222] of the term (age) ' in [G1722] him [G1438] abiding [G3306].
16: By [G1722] this [G3778] we have known [G1097] the [G3588] love of the [G3588] God '[G2316], because [G3754] that one [G1565] for [G5228] us [G1473] the [G3588] his life [G5590][G1473] placed [G5087]; and [G2532] we [G1473] ought [G3784] for [G5228] the [G3588] brothers the [G3588] [our] lives [G5590] to place [G5087].
17: But who [G3739][G1161] ever should have [G2192] the [G3588] livelihood of the [G3588] arrangement '[G2889], and [G2532] should view [G2334] the [G3588] brother of him [G1473] need [G5532] having [G2192], and [G2532] should lock up [G2808] the [G3588] his feelings of compassion [G4698][G1473] from him [G1473], how [does [G4459] the [G3588] love of the [G3588] God '[G2316] abide [G3306] in [G1722] him [G1473]?
18: My sons [G5040][G1473], we should not [G3361] love [in] word [G3056] nor [G3366] tongue [G1100], but in work [G2041] and [G2532] truth .
19: And [G2532] in [G1722] this [G3778] we know [G1097] that [G3754] of [G1537] the [G3588] truth we are , and [G2532] before [G1715] him [G1473] we will yield [G3982] the [G3588] our hearts [G2588][G1473].
20: For [G3754] if [G1437] should condemn [G2607] our [G1473] the [G3588] heart [G2588], [know] that [G3754] greater than [G3173] is the [G3588] God '[G2316] the [G3588] our heart [G2588][G1473], and [G2532] he knows [G1097] all [things] [G3956].
21: Beloved , if [G1437] the [G3588] our heart [G2588][G1473] should not [G3361] condemn [G2607] us [G1473], confidence [G3954] we have [G2192] before [G4314] the [G3588] God '[G2316].
22: And [G2532] what [G3739] ever [G1437] we should ask , we receive [G2983] from [G3844] him [G1473], for [G3754] the [G3588] commandments [G1785] of him [G1473] we keep [G5083], and [G2532] the [things] [G3588] pleasing before [G1799] him [G1473] we do [G4160].
23: And [G2532] this [G3778] is the [G3588] his commandment [G1785][G1473] -- that [G2443] we should trust '[G4100] in the [G3588] name [G3686] of the [G3588] son [G5207] of him [G1473] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) Anointed [G5547], and [G2532] we should love one another , as [G2531] he gave [G1325] commandment [G1785].
24: And [G2532] the [G3588] [one] keeping [G5083] the [G3588] commandments [G1785] of him [G1473] in [G1722] him [G1473] abides [G3306], and [G2532] he [G1473] in [G1722] him [G1473]. And [G2532] by [G1722] this [G3778] we know [G1097] that [G3754] he abides [G3306] in [G1722] us [G1473], by [G1537] the [G3588] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] which [G3739] he gave to us [G1473][G1325].
