2 Chronicles Chapter 34 - | Early Church Bible

1: [was] a son [G5207] being eight [G3638] years [old [G2094] Josiah] in [G1722] the [G3588] his taking reign [G1473], and [G2532] thirty [G5144] and [G2532] one [G1520] year [G2094] he reigned in [G1722] Jerusalem.
2: And [G2532] he did [G4160] the [G3588] upright [thing] before [G1799] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] he went [G4198] in [G1722] ways [G3598] of David the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473], and [G2532] he did not [G3756] turn aside [G1578] right [G1188] [nor [G2532] left .
3: And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] eighth [G3590] year [G2094] of the [G3588] his government '[G1473] (and [G2532] he [G1473] was still [G2089] a boy [G3808]) he began the [G3588] to seek [G2212] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of David the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473]. And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] twelfth [G1428] year [G2094] of the [G3588] his government '[G1473] he began the [G3588] to cleanse [G2511] Judah and [G2532] the [G3588] Jerusalem off the [G3588] high [places [G5308], and [G2532] of the [G3588] sacred groves , and [G2532] of the [G3588] shrines [G1041], and [G2532] of the [G3588] carved [images , and [G2532] of the [G3588] molten [images .
4: And [G2532] he razed [G2679] the [things] [G3588] before [G2596] his face [G4383][G1473] -- altars [G2379], the [G3588] [ones] to the [G3588] Baals; and [G2532] the [G3588] high [places [G5308], the [G3588] [ones] above [G1909] them [G1473]. And [G2532] he cut down [G1581] the [G3588] sacred groves , and [G2532] the [G3588] carved [images . And [G2532] the [G3588] molten [images he broke [G4937] and [G2532] [ground] fine , and [G2532] tossed [their dust [G4495] upon [G1909] face [G4383] of the [G3588] tombs [G3418] of the [G3588] [ones] sacrificing to them [G1473].
5: And [G2532] bones [G3747] of priests [G2409] he incinerated [G2618] upon [G1909] the [G3588]ir altars [G2379][G1473], and [G2532] he cleansed [G2511] the [G3588] Judah and [G2532] the [G3588] Jerusalem,
6: and [G2532] among [G1722] cities [G4172] of Manasseh, and [G2532] Ephraim, and [G2532] Simeon, and [G2532] Naphtali, and [G2532] the [G3588] places [G5117] round about them [G1473][G2945].
7: And [G2532] he tore down the [G3588] altars [G2379], and [G2532] the [G3588] sacred groves ; and [G2532] the [G3588] idols [G1497] he cut in [G2629] fine pieces [G3016], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] high [places [G5308] he cut in pieces [G2629] from all [G3956] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of Israel, and [G2532] he returned to [G1519] Jerusalem.
8: And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] eighteenth year [G2094] of the [G3588] his government '[G1473], when [G3753] he urged [G2753] the [G3588] to be cleansed [G2511] the [G3588] land '[G1093] and [G2532] the [G3588] house [G3624], he sent the [G3588] Shaphan son [G5207] of Azaliah, and [G2532] the [G3588] Maaseiah ruler of the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] the [G3588] Joah son [G5207] of Joahaz the [G3588] recorder , the [G3588] to fortify [G2901] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of him [G1473].
9: And [G2532] they came [G2064] to [G4314] Helkiah the [G3588] priest [G2409] the [G3588] great [G3173], and [G2532] they gave [G1325] the [G3588] money [that was the [G3588] carried [G1533] into [G1519] house [G3624] of God '[G2316], which [G3739] gathered [G4863] the [G3588] Levites the [G3588] guarding [G5442] the [G3588] gate [G4439] by [G1537] hand [G5495] of Manasseh and [G2532] Ephraim, and [G2532] of the [G3588] rulers , and [G2532] off all [G3956] rest [G2645] in [G1722] Israel, and [G2532] of [G1537] all [G3956] Judah and [G2532] Benjamin, and [G2532] of the [G3588] [ones] living [G3611] in [G1722] Jerusalem.
10: And [G2532] they put [G1325] it [G1473] into [G1909] hand [G5495] of the [G3588] [ones] doing [G4160] the [G3588] works [G2041], of the [G3588] [ones] placed [G2525] in [G1722] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962]. And [G2532] they gave [G1325] it [G1473] to the [G3588] [ones] doing [G4160] the [G3588] works [G2041] in [G1722] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] to repair and [G2532] to strengthen [G2729] the [G3588] house [G3624].
11: And [G2532] they gave [it [G1325] to the [G3588] fabricators [G5045] and [G2532] to the [G3588] builders to buy stones [G3037] quadrangular , and [G2532] wood [G3586] for [G1519] beams [G1385] to roof the [G3588] houses [G3624] which [G3739] utterly destroyed [G1842] kings of Judah].
12: And [G2532] the [G3588] men were doing [G4160] in [G1722] trust '[G4102] the [things] [G3588] over [G1909] the [G3588] works [G2041]. And [G2532] over [G1909] them [G1473] overseers [G1985] were established [G2525] -- Jahath and [G2532] Obadiah the [G3588] Levites, of [G1537] sons [G5207] of Merari; and [G2532] Zechariah and [G2532] Meshullam, of [G1537] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Kohath -- to oversee [G1983]; and [G2532] all [G3956] [other] Levites, and [G2532] all [G3956] perceiving [to play [G4920] with [G1722] instruments of odes [G5603],
13: and [G2532] over [G1909] the [G3588] load carriers , and [G2532] knowers [G1987] concerning [G1909] all [G3956] of the [G3588] [ones] doing [G4160] the [G3588] works [G2041] in [G1519] effort [G2039]; and [G2532] [others] off the [G3588] Levites -- scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]) and [G2532] judges [G2923] and [G2532] gatekeepers .
14: And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588]ir bringing forth [G1627][G1473] the [G3588] money the [G3588] coming in as income into [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962], found [G2147] Helkiah the [G3588] priest [G2409] the [G3588] scroll of the [G3588] law [G3551] of Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] [one] by [G1223] hand [G5495] of Moses.
15: And [G2532] Helkiah responded and [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] Shaphan the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]), scroll of law [G3551] I found [G2147] in [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962]. And [G2532] Helkiah gave [G1325] the [G3588] scroll the [G3588] to Shaphan.
16: And [G2532] Shaphan carried [G1533] the [G3588] scroll to [G4314] the [G3588] king , and [G2532] he gave yet [G2089] to the [G3588] king a word [G3056], saying [G3004], All [G3956] the [G3588] money was rendered into [G1722] hand [G5495] of the [G3588] your servants [G3816][G1473] of the [G3588] [ones] doing [G4160] the [G3588] work [G2041].
17: And [G2532] they cast in a furnace the [G3588] silver the [G3588] found [G2147] in [G1722] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] they put [it [G1325] into [G1909] hand [G5495] of the [G3588] overseers [G1985], and [G2532] into [G1909] hand [G5495] of the [G3588] [ones] doing [G4160] the [G3588] work [G2039].
18: And [G2532] reported Shaphan the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613])] to the [G3588] king , saying [G3004], a scroll gave [G1325] to me [G1473] Helkiah the [G3588] priest [G2409]. And [G2532] read it [G1473] Shaphan] before [G1799] the [G3588] king .
19: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] as [G5613] heard the [G3588] king the [G3588] words [G3056] of the [G3588] law [G3551], that [G2532] he tore [G1284] the [G3588] his garments [G2440][G1473].
20: And [G2532] gave charge [G1781] the [G3588] king [to the [G3588] Helkiah, and [G2532] the [G3588] to Ahikam son [G5207] of Shaphan, and [G2532] the [G3588] to Abdon son [G5207] of Micah, and [G2532] [to the [G3588] Shaphan the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]), and [G2532] [to the [G3588] Asaiah servant [G3816] of the [G3588] king , saying [G3004],
21: Go [G4198], seek [G2212] Boss '[G2962] for [G4012] me [G1473], and [G2532] for [G4012] all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] left [G2641] in [G1722] Israel and [G2532] Judah, concerning [G4012] the [G3588] words [G3056] of the [G3588] scroll of the [G3588] [one] being found [G2147]! for [G3754] great [G3173] [is] the [G3588] rage [G2372] of Boss '[G2962] which [G3739] burns away [G1572] against [G1722] us [G1473], because [G1360] did not [G3756] listen [G1522] the [G3588] our fathers [G3962][G1473] [concerning] the [G3588] word [G3056] of Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] to do [G4160] according to [G2596] all [G3956] the [things] [G3588] being written [G1125] in [G1722] the [G3588] this scroll [G3778].
22: And [G2532] Helkiah went [G4198], and [G2532] [the ones] who [G3739] told [G2036] the [G3588] king , to [G4314] Huldah the [G3588] prophetess [G4398], wife [G1135] of willum, son [G5207] of Tikvath, son [G5207] of Hazrah the [G3588] keeper of the cloaks ; and [G2532] she [G3778] dwelt [G2730] in [G1722] Jerusalem in [G1722] second section . And [G2532] they spoke [G2980] to her [G1473] according to [G2596] these [things] [G3778].
23: And [G2532] she said [G2036] to them [G1473], Thus [G3779] said [G2036] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel, Say [G2036] to the [G3588] man , to the [G3588] [one] sending you [G1473] to [G4314] me [G1473],
24: Thus [G3779] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], look [G2400], I [G1473] bring [G1863] evils [G2556] upon [G1909] the [G3588] this place [G5117][G3778], and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in [G1722] it [G1473], of all the [G3588][G3956] words [G3056] the [G3588] being written [G1125] in [G1722] the [G3588] scroll the [G3588] being read before [G1726] the [G3588] king of Judah.
25: Because they abandoned [G1459] me [G1473], and [G2532] burnt incense [G2370] gods '[G2316] to alien , that [G2443] they should provoke me to anger [G3949][G1473] by [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] works [G2041] of the [G3588]ir hands [G5495][G1473]. And [G2532] was burned [G1572] the [G3588] my rage [G2372][G1473] against [G1722] the [G3588] this place [G5117][G3778], and [G2532] it will not [G3756] be extinguished [G4570].
26: And [G2532] concerning [G1909] king of Judah, the [G3588] [one] sending you [G1473] the [G3588] to seek [G2212] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962], Thus [G3779] will you say [G2046] to [G4314] him [G1473], Thus [G3779] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel, Of the [G3588] words [G3056] which [G3739] you heard ,
27: and [because [G2532] feels shame [G1788] the [G3588] your heart [G2588][G1473], and [G2532] you humbled [yourself [G5013] in front [G4383] of me [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] your hearing [G1473] the [G3588] my words [G3056][G1473] against [G1909] the [G3588] this place [G5117][G3778], and [G2532] against [G1909] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling in [G2730] it [G1473]; and [G2532] you were humbled [G5013] before [G1726] me [G1473], and [G2532] tore [G1284] the [G3588] your garments [G2440][G1473], and [G2532] wept [G2799] before [G1726] me [G1473]; even [G2532] I [G1473] heard , says [G5346] Boss '[G2962].
28: look [G2400], I add [G4369] you [G1473] to [G4314] the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473], and [G2532] you will be added [G4369] to [G4314] the [G3588] your grave [G5028][G1473] in [G1722] peace [G1515]. And [G2532] will not see [G3756][G3708] the [G3588] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] evils [G2556] which [G3739] I [G1473] bring [G1863] upon [G1909] the [G3588] this place [G5117][G3778], and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] it [G1473]. And [G2532] they brought back to the [G3588] king word [G3056].
29: And [G2532] sent the [G3588] king and [G2532] brought together [G4863] the [G3588] elders [G4245] of Judah and [G2532] Jerusalem.
30: And [G2532] went up the [G3588] king into [G1519] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] all [G3956] Judah, and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in Jerusalem, and [G2532] the [G3588] priests [G2409], and [G2532] the [G3588] Levites, and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] from small [G3397] unto [G2193] great [G3173]. And [G2532] he read in [G1722] their ears [G3775][G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] of the [G3588] scroll of the [G3588] covenant [G1242] the [G3588] being found [G2147] in [G1722] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962].
31: And [G2532] stood [G2476] the [G3588] king upon [G1909] the [G3588] column [G4769], and [G2532] he ordained [G1303] a covenant [G1242] before [G1726] Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] to go [G4198] before [G1799] Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] to guard [G5442] the [G3588] commandments [G1785] of him [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his testimonies [G3142][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his orders [G1473], with [G1722] entire [G3650] heart [G2588], and [G2532] with [G1722] entire [G3650] soul [G5590], so as [G5620] to observe [G4160] the [G3588] words [G3056] of the [G3588] covenant [G1242] the [G3588] having been written [G1125] upon [G1909] the [G3588] this scroll [G3778].
32: And [G2532] he established [G2476] all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] being found [G2147] in [G1722] Jerusalem, and [G2532] in [G1722] Judah, and [G2532] Benjamin. And [G2532] did [G4160] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in [G1722] Jerusalem] according to [G2596] the [G3588] covenant [G1242] of Boss '[G2962] God '[G2316] of their fathers [G3962][G1473].
33: And [G2532] Josiah removed [G4014] all [G3956] the [G3588] abominations from out of [G1537] all [G3956] the [G3588] land '[G1093], which [G3739] was of the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel. And [G2532] he made [G4160] all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] being found [G2147] in [G1722] Jerusalem and [G2532] in [G1722] Israel the [G3588] serve [G1398] [to the] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of them [G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] his days [G2250][G1473]. He did not [G3756] turn aside [G1578] from [following] after [G3693] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of the [G3588] his fathers [G3962][G1473].
