Nehemiah Chapter 9 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] on [G1722] day [G2250] twentieth and [G2532] fourth [G5067] the [G3588] of this month [G3376][G3778], gathered together [G4863] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] for [G1722] fasting [G3521], and [G2532] with [G1722] sackcloths [G4526] and [G2532] ashes [G4700] upon [G1909] their head [G2776][G1473].
2: And [G2532] separated [G5563] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] from every [G3956] son [G5207] alien ; and [G2532] they stood [G2476] and [G2532] declared openly the [G3588]ir sins [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] lawless deeds of the [G3588]ir fathers [G3962][G1473].
3: And [G2532] they stood [G2476] in [G1909] the [G3588]ir position [G4714][G1473], and [G2532] they read in [G1722] scroll of law [G3551] of Boss '[G2962] their God '[G2316][G1473] the [G3588] fourth [G5067] of the [G3588] day [G2250]. And [G2532] they were declaring openly to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] fourth [G5067] of the [G3588] day [G2250], and [G2532] doing obeisance to [G4352] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] their God '[G2316][G1473].
4: And [G2532] stood [G2476] upon [G1909] ascent of the [G3588] Levites Jeshua], and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Kadmiel, Secheniah son [G5207] of Sherebiah, son [G5207] of Chenani. And [G2532] they yelled voice [G5456] [with] a great [G3173] to [G4314] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of them [G1473].
5: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] Levites], Jeshua and [G2532] Kadmiel, Bani, Sherebiah, Hodijah Shebaniah, Pethahiah, Rise up , bless [G2127] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] our God '[G2316][G1473] from the [G3588] age (term) ` and [G2532] unto [G2193] the [G3588] age (term) `! And [G2532] they will bless [G2127] name [G3686] glorious [G1391] your [G1473], and [G2532] will raise [it] up high [G5312] with [G1909] all [G3956] blessing [G2129] and [G2532] praise .
6: And [G2532] Ezra said [G2036], You [G1473] are he [G1473], Boss '[G2962] alone [G3441]. You [G1473] made [G4160] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] and [G2532] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588]ir positions [G1411][G1473]; the [G3588] land '[G1093] and [G2532] all [G3956] as much as [G3745] is in [G1722] it [G1473]; the [G3588] seas [G2281] and [G2532] all [G3956] the [things] [G3588] in [G1722] them [G1473]. And [G2532] you [G1473] restore to life [G2227] the [G3588] all [things] [G3956]; and [G2532] to you [G1473] do obeisance [G4352] the [G3588] militaries [G4756] of the [G3588] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772].
7: You [G1473] are , O Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] God '[G2316]. You [G1473] chose [G1586] Abram, and [G2532] you led [G1806] him [G1473] from [G1537] the [G3588] place [G5561] of the [G3588] Chaldeans, and [G2532] placed unto [G2007] him [G1473] name [G3686] Abraham.
8: And [G2532] you found [G2147] the [G3588] his heart [G2588][G1473] trustworthy [G4103] before [G1799] you [G1473], and [G2532] you ordained [G1303] with [G4314] him [G1473] a covenant [G1242], [so as] to give [G1325] to him [G1473] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of the [G3588] Canaanites, and [G2532] Hittites, and [G2532] Amorites, and [G2532] Perizzites, and [G2532] Jebusites, and [G2532] Girgashites, and [G2532] to give [G1325] it [G1473] [to the [G3588] his seed [G4690][G1473]. And [G2532] you established [G2476] the [G3588] your words [G3056][G1473], for [G3754] you [are] just [G1342][G1473].
9: And [G2532] you looked [at] [G1492] the [G3588] humiliation [G5014] of the [G3588] fathers [G3962] of us [G1473] in [G1722] Egypt, and [G2532] the [G3588]ir cry [G2906][G1473] you heard at [G1909] sea [G2281] red [G2063].
10: And [G2532] you gave [G1325] signs [G4592] and [G2532] miracles [G5059] in [G1722] Egypt to [G1722] Pharaoh, and [G2532] among [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] his servants [G3816][G1473], and [G2532] among [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] of the [G3588] his land '[G1093][G1473], for [G3754] you knew [G1097] that [G3754] they extolled themselves above [G1909] them [G1473]; and [G2532] you made [G4160] for yourself [G4572] a name [G3686] as [G5613] [it is the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778].
11: And [G2532] the [G3588] sea [G2281] you tore up [G1284] before [G1799] them [G1473], and [G2532] they went [G3928] in [G1722] midst [G3319] of the [G3588] sea [G2281] in [G1722] dryness ; and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] pursuing [G2614] them [G1473] you tossed [G4495] into [G1519] bottom of the sea [G1037], as [G5616] a stone [G3037] in [G1722] water [G5204] vehement .
12: And [G2532] in [G1722] a column [G4769] of cloud [G3507] you guided [G3594] them [G1473] by day [G2250]; and [G2532] by [G1722] a column [G4769] of fire [G4442] the [G3588] at night [G3571], the [G3588] to give light [G5461] to them [G1473] for the [G3588] way [G3598] in [G1722] which [G3739] they went [G4198] by [G1722] it [G1473].
13: And [G2532] upon [G1909] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] Sinai you went down [G2597] and [G2532] spoke [G2980] to [G4314] them [G1473] from out of [G1537] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], and [G2532] you gave [G1325] to them [G1473] judgments [G2917] right [G2117], and [G2532] laws [G3551] of truth , orders , and [G2532] commandments [G1785] good .
14: And [G2532] the [G3588] Sabbath [G4521] your [G1473] the [G3588] pure ' you made known [G1107] to them [G1473]; commandments [G1785], and [G2532] orders , and [G2532] law [G3551], you gave charge [G1781] to them [G1473] by [G1722] hand [G5495] of Moses the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473].
15: And [G2532] bread from [G1537] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] you gave [G1325] to them [G1473] for [G1519] their provision [G1473], and [G2532] water [G5204] from out of [G1537] rock [G4073] you brought forth [G1627] for them [G1473] for [G1519] their thirst [G1473]. And [G2532] you spoke [G2036] to them [G1473] to enter [G1525] to inherit [G2816] the [G3588] land '[G1093] into [G1519] which [G3739] you stretched out [G1614] the [G3588] your hand [G5495][G1473] to give [G1325] to them [G1473].
16: But [G2532] they [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] our fathers [G3962][G1473] were prideful , and [G2532] they hardened [G4645] the [G3588]ir neck [G5137][G1473], and [G2532] they did not [G3756] hearken the [G3588] unto your commandments [G1785][G1473].
17: And [G2532] they shook their heads in dissent the [G3588] to listen [G1522], and [G2532] did not [G3756] remember [G3403] the [G3588] wonders [G2297] of you [G1473] which [G3739] you performed [G4160] among [G1722] them [G1473]. And [G2532] they hardened [G4645] the [G3588]ir neck [G5137][G1473], and [G2532] they granted [G1325] a sovereign to return [G1994] to [G1519] slavery [G1397] them [G1473] in [G1722] Egypt. But [G2532] you [G1473], O the [G3588] God '[G2316], in forgiving sins [are] compassionate [G1655] and [G2532] pitying [G3629], lenient and [G2532] full of compassion , and [G2532] did not [G3756] abandon [G1459] them [G1473].
18: And still [G2089][G1161] also [G2532] they made [G4160] for themselves [G1438] calf [G3448] a molten . And [G2532] they said [G2036], These [are [G3778] the [G3588] gods '[G2316], the [G3588] [ones] leading [G1806] us [G1473] from [G1537] Egypt. And [G2532] they committed [G4160] provocations to anger [G3950] great [G3173].
19: And [G2532] you [G1473] in [G1722] compassions [G3628] your [G1473] the [G3588] great [G3173] did not [G3756] abandon [G1459] them [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] wilderness [G2048]. the [G3588] column [G4769] of the [G3588] cloud [G3507] did not [G3756] turn aside [G1578] from them [G1473] by day [G2250] to guide [G3594] them [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598]; and [G2532] the [G3588] column [G4769] of the [G3588] fire [G4442] the [G3588] by night [G3571] to give light [G5461] to them [G1473] in the [G3588] way [G3598] in [G1722] which [G3739] they went [G4198] by [G1722] it [G1473].
20: And [G2532] the [G3588] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] your [G1473] the [G3588] good gave [G1325] a bringing of understanding to them [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] your manna [G3131] you did not [G3756] withhold from their mouth [G4750][G1473], and [G2532] water [G5204] you gave [G1325] to them [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588]ir thirst [G1373][G1473].
21: And [G2532] forty [G5062] years [G2094] you nourished them [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] wilderness, [and [G2048] lacked not [G3756][G5302] they [G1473] one [thing] [G3762]; their garments [G2440][G1473] did not [G3756] become old [G3822], and [G2532] their sandals [G5266][G1473] were not [G3756] torn up [G1284].
22: And [G2532] you gave [G1325] them [G1473] kingdoms , and [G2532] peoples [G2992] you divided [G1266] to them [G1473]. And [G2532] they inherited [G2816] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of Sihon king of Heshbon, and [G2532] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of Og king of the [G3588] Bashan.
23: And [G2532] the [G3588]ir sons [G5207][G1473] you multiplied [G4129] as [G5613] the [G3588] stars of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], and [G2532] brought [G1521] them [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] land '[G1093] which [G3739] you spoke [G2036] [to the [G3588]ir fathers [G3962][G1473], the [G3588] to enter [G1525] and [G2532] to inherit [G2816].
24: And [G2532] entered [G1525] their sons [G5207][G1473] and [G2532] inherited [G2816] the [G3588] land '[G1093]. And [G2532] you obliterated before [G1799] them [G1473] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of the [G3588] Canaanites, and [G2532] you gave [G1325] them [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588]ir hands [G5495][G1473], even [G2532] the [G3588]ir kings [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] peoples [G2992] of the [G3588] land '[G1093], to do [G4160] to them [G1473] as [G5613] was pleasing before [G1799] them [G1473].
25: And [G2532] they overtook [G2638] cities [G4172] high [G5308], and [G2532] land '[G1093] a fertile . And [G2532] they inherited [G2816] houses [G3614] full [G4134] of all [G3956] good [things] , [and] pits for quarrying [G2998], vineyards and [G2532] olive groves [G1638], and [G2532] every [G3956] tree [G3586] of eatable [things] [G1034] in [G1519] multitude [G4128]. And [G2532] they ate [G2068], and [G2532] were filled up [G1705], and [G2532] were fattened , and [G2532] indulged [G5171] in [G1722] goodness your [G1473] the [G3588] great [G3173].
26: And [G2532] they changed and [G2532] revolted from you [G1473]. And [G2532] they tossed [G4495] the [G3588] your law [G3551][G1473] behind [G3694] their body [G4983][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] your prophets [G4396][G1473] they killed , the ones [G3739] testifying [G1263] to [G1722] them [G1473] to turn [G1994] them [G1473] towards [G4314] you [G1473]. And [G2532] they made [G4160] provocations to anger [G3950] great [G3173].
27: And [G2532] you gave [G1325] them [G1473] into [G1722] hand [G5495] of ones afflicting [G2346] them [G1473], and [G2532] they afflicted [G2346] them [G1473]. And [G2532] they yelled out to [G4314] you [G1473] in [G1722] time [G2540] of their affliction [G2347][G1473], and [G2532] you [G1473] from out of [G1537] your raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772][G1473] heard , and [G2532] in [G1722] compassions [G3628] your [G1473] the [G3588] great [G3173] you gave [G1325] deliverers to them [G1473][G4990], and [G2532] they delivered [G4982] them [G1473] from [G1537] hand [G5495] of ones afflicting [G2346] them [G1473].
28: And [G2532] as [G5613] they were caused to rest , they turned [G1994] to act [G4160] the [G3588] wickedly [G4190] before [G1799] you [G1473]. And [G2532] you abandoned [G1459] them [G1473] into [G1519] hands [G5495] of their enemies [G2190][G1473], and [G2532] they ruled among [G1722] them [G1473]. And [G2532] again [G3825] they yelled out to [G4314] you [G1473]. And [G2532] you [G1473] from out of [G1537] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] listened [G1522] and [G2532] rescued [G4506] them [G1473] by [G1722] compassions [G3628] your [G1473] abundant [G4183].
29: And [G2532] you attested [G1957] to them [G1473], to turn [G1994] them [G1473] to [G1519] the [G3588] your law [G3551][G1473]. But they [G1473][G1161] acted superior [G5242], and [G2532] hearkened not [G3756] of the [G3588] your commandments [G1785][G1473]. And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] your judgments [G2917][G1473] they sinned , (which [G3739] doing [G4160] them [G1473] a man will live [G2198] by [G1722] them; [G1473]) and [G2532] they gave [G1325] [their] back [G3577] [unto] resisting persuasion , and [G2532] their neck [G5137][G1473] they hardened [G4645], and [G2532] they did not [G3756] hearken .
30: And [G2532] you were long-suffering [G3114] unto [G1909] them [G1473] years [G2094] many [G4183], and [G2532] drew out [patience [G1670] unto [G1909] them [G1473] years [G2094] many [G4183], and [G2532] attested [G1957] to them [G1473] by [G1722] your wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151][G1473], by [G1722] hand [G5495] of your prophets [G4396][G1473]. But [G2532] they did not [G3756] give ear [G1801], and [G2532] you gave [G1325] them [G1473] into [G1722] hand [G5495] of peoples [G2992] of the [G3588] land '[G1093].
31: And [G2532] you [G1473], in [G1722] compassions [G3628] your [G1473] the [G3588] abundant [G4183] did not [G3756] appoint [G4160] them [G1473] to [G1519] consummation [G4930], and [G2532] you did not [G3756] abandon [G1459] them [G1473]; for [G3754] you are strong [G2478], and [G2532] compassionate [G1655], and [G2532] pitying [G3629].
32: And [G2532] now [G3568], O the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473], the [G3588] strong [G2478], the [G3588] great [G3173], for the [G3588]tified [G2900] and [G2532] fearsome [G5398]; guarding [G5442] the [G3588] your covenant [G1242][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] your compassion [G1656][G1473]; do not let [G3361] [your attention] be lessened before [G1799] you [G1473] [concerning] all [G3956] the [G3588] trouble [G3449] which [G3739] found [G2147] us [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] our kings [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] our rulers [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] our priests [G2409][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] our prophets [G4396][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] our fathers [G3962][G1473], and [G2532] among [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] your people [G2992][G1473] from days [G2250] of kings of Assyria, and [G2532] until [G2193] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778]!
33: For [G2532] you [G1473] are just [G1342] concerning [G1909] all [G3956] the [G3588] [things] coming [G2064] upon [G1909] us [G1473], for [G3754] truth you acted [G4160], but [G2532] we [G1473] were led into sin .
34: And [G2532] the [G3588] our kings [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] our rulers [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] our priests [G2409][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] our fathers [G3962][G1473] observed not [G3756][G4160] the [G3588] your law [G3551][G1473], and [G2532] heeded not [G3756][G4337] the [G3588] your commandments [G1785][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] your testimonies [G3142][G1473] which [G3739] you testified [G1263] to them [G1473].
35: And [G2532] they [G1473] in [G1722] your government '[G1473], and [G2532] in [G1722] goodness your [G1473] the [G3588] abundant [G4183] which [G3739] you gave [G1325] to them [G1473], and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] land '[G1093] the [G3588] spacious [G4116] and [G2532] lustrous [G3045] which [G3739] you put [G1325] before [G1799] them [G1473], did not [G3756] serve [G1398] you [G1473], and [G2532] they did not [G3756] turn from practices their [G1473] the [G3588] wicked [G4190].
36: look [G2400], we are today [G4594] servants [G1401], and [G2532] the [G3588] land '[G1093] which [G3739] you gave [G1325] [to the [G3588] our fathers [G3962][G1473], to eat [G2068] the [G3588] fruit [G2590] of it [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] good [things] of it [G1473], even [G2532] look [G2400], we are servants [G1401] upon [G1909] it [G1473].
37: And [G2532] the [G3588] fruits [G2590] its [G1473] the [G3588] many [G4183] became [G1096] to the [G3588] kings which [G3739] you put [G1325] over [G1909] us [G1473] because of [G1722] our sins [G1473]; and [G2532] over [G1909] the [G3588] our bodies [G4983][G1473] they exercise authority [G1850], and [G2532] over [G1722] our cattle [G2934][G1473] as [G5613] is pleasing to them [G1473], and [G2532] in [G1722] affliction [G2347] great [G3173] we are .
38: And [G2532] in [G1722] all [G3956] these [things] [G3778] we [G1473] are ordained [G1303] a trust '[G4102], and [G2532] we write [it [G1125]; and [G2532] put a seal upon it our rulers [G1473] -- our Levites [G1473], our priests [G2409][G1473].
