Genesis Chapter 30 - | Early Church Bible

1: saw [G1492] And [G1161] Rachel] that [G3754] she has not borne [G3756][G5088] the [G3588] to Jacob. And [G2532] Rachel envied [G2206] the [G3588] her sister [G1473]. And [G2532] she said [G2036] the [G3588] to Jacob, Give [G1325] to me [G1473] a child [G5043]! and if not [G1490], I will come to an end [G5053][G1473].
2: being enraged [G2373] And [G1161] Jacob the [G3588] with Rachel, said [G2036] to her [G1473], not [G3361] in place of God '[G2316] I [G1473] am who [G3739] deprived you [G1473] [of the] fruit [G2590] of belly [G2836]?
3: said [G2036] And [G1161] Rachel the [G3588] to Jacob, look [G2400], the [G3588] my maidservant [G3814][G1473] Bilhah. Enter [G1525] to [G4314] her [G1473]! and [G2532] she will bear [G5088] upon [G1909] the [G3588] my knees [G1119][G1473], and [G2532] will produce children even I [G2504] from [G1537] her [G1473].
4: And [G2532] she gave [G1325] Bilhah to him [G1473] the [G3588] her maidservant [G3814][G1473] to him [G1473] as wife [G1135]. And [G2532] entered [G1525] to [G4314] her [G1473] Jacob].
5: And [G2532] conceived [G4815] Bilhah the [G3588] maidservant [G3814] of Rachel]. And [G2532] she bore [G5088] the [G3588] to Jacob a son [G5207].
6: And [G2532] Rachel said [G2036], judged [G2919] me [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] he heeded [G1873] the [G3588] my voice [G5456][G1473], and [G2532] he gave [G1325] to me [G1473] a son [G5207] through [G1223] this [one [G3778]. On account of [G1223] this [G3778] she called [G2564] the [G3588] name [G3686] of him [G1473], Dan.
7: And [G2532] conceived [G4815] again [G2089] Bilhah the [G3588] maidservant [G3814] of Rachel]. And [G2532] she bore [G5088] son [G5207] a second [G1208] the [G3588] to Jacob.
8: And [G2532] Rachel said [G2036], aided [G4815] me [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] I was twisted [G4962] [by the [G3588] my sister [G1473], and [G2532] I was able [G1410]. And [G2532] she called [G2564] the [G3588] name [G3686] of him [G1473], Naphtali.
9: saw [G1492] And [G1161] Leah] that [G3754] she stopped [G2476] the [G3588] bearing [G5088]. And [G2532] she took [G2983] Zilpah the [G3588] her maidservant [G3814][G1473], and [G2532] gave [G1325] her [G1473] the [G3588] to Jacob [as] wife [G1135].
10: And [G2532] conceived [G4815] Zilpah the [G3588] maidservant [G3814] of Leah]. And [G2532] she bore [G5088] the [G3588] to Jacob a son [G5207].
11: And [G2532] Leah said [G2036], [I am] in [G1722] good luck . And [G2532] she named [G2028] the [G3588] name [G3686] of him [G1473], Gad.
12: And [G2532] conceived [G4815] again [G2089] Zilpah the [G3588] maidservant [G3814] of Leah]. And [G2532] she bore [G5088] the [G3588] to Jacob son [G5207] a second [G1208].
13: And [G2532] Leah said [G2036], Blessed [G3107] [am] I [G1473], for [G3754] declare me happy [G3106][G1473] the [G3588] women [G1135]. And [G2532] she called [G2564] the [G3588] name [G3686] of him [G1473], Asher.
14: went [G4198] And [G1161] Reuben] in [G1722] day [G2250] harvest [G2326] [of the] wheat , and [G2532] he found [G2147] apples of mandrakes in [G1722] the [G3588] field . And [G2532] he brought [G5342] them [G1473] to [G4314] Leah the [G3588] his mother [G3384][G1473]. said [G2036] And [G1161] Rachel the [G3588] to Leah the [G3588] her sister [G1473], Give [G1325] to me [G1473] of the [G3588] mandrakes of the [G3588] your son [G5207][G1473]!
15: said [G2036] And [G1161] Leah], [Is it] not [G3756] fit [G2425] to you [G1473] that [G3754] you took [G2983] the [G3588] my man [G1473], will [G3361] also [G2532] of the [G3588] mandrakes of the [G3588] my son [G5207][G1473] you take [G2983]? said [G2036] And [G1161] Rachel], Not [G3756] so [G3779], let him go to bed [G2837] with [G3326] you [G1473] the [G3588] this night [G3571][G3778] in return for the [G3588] mandrakes of the [G3588] your son [G5207][G1473].
16: entered [G1525] And [G1161] Jacob] from out of [G1537] field [at] evening [G2073]. And [G2532] came forth [G1831] Leah to [G1519] meet [G4877] him [G1473]. And [G2532] she said [G2036], to [G4314] me [G1473] You will enter [G1525] today [G4594], for I have hired [G3409][G1063] you [G1473] in return for the [G3588] mandrakes of the [G3588] my son [G5207][G1473]. And [G2532] he went to bed [G2837] with [G3326] her [G1473] the [G3588] that night [G3571][G1565].
17: And [G2532] God heeded [G1873] the [G3588][G2316] Leah. And [G2532] conceiving [G4815], she bore [G5088] son [G5207] a fifth [G3991] [to the [G3588] Jacob.
18: And [G2532] Leah said [G2036], gave [G1325] to me [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316] the [G3588] my wage [G3408][G1473] because I gave [G1325] the [G3588] my maidservant [G3814][G1473] the [G3588] to my husband [G1473]. And [G2532] she called [G2564] the [G3588] name [G3686] of him [G1473], Issachar, which [G3739] is , Wage [G3408].
19: And [G2532] conceived [G4815] again [G2089] Leah]. And [G2532] she bore [G5088] son [G5207] a sixth [G1622] the [G3588] to Jacob.
20: And [G2532] Leah said [G2036], God has presented [G1433] the [G3588][G2316] to me [G1473] gift [G1435] a good [G2570] in [G1722] the [G3588] present [G3568] time [G2540], will select me [G1473] the [G3588] my man [G1473] for having borne [G5088][G1063] to him [G1473] six [G1803] sons [G5207]. And [G2532] she called [G2564] the [G3588] name [G3686] of him [G1473], Zebulun.
21: And [G2532] after [G3326] this [G3778] she bore [G5088] a daughter [G2364], and [G2532] she called [G2564] the [G3588] name [G3686] of her [G1473], Dinah.
22: remembered [G3403] And [G1161] the [G3588] God '[G2316] the [G3588] Rachel. And [G2532] heeded [G1873] her [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] he opened her [G1473] the [G3588] womb [G3388].
23: And [G2532] conceiving [G4815], she bore [G5088] the [G3588] to Jacob a son [G5207]. said [G2036] And [G1161] Rachel], God removed the [G3588][G2316] [from] me [G1473] the [G3588] scorn [G3681].
24: And [G2532] she called [G2564] the [G3588] name [G3686] of him [G1473] Joseph, saying [G3004], God added [G4369] the [G3588][G2316] to me [G1473] son [G5207] another [G2087]!
25: And it came to pass when [G1096][G1161][G5613] Rachel bore [G5088] the [G3588] Joseph, Jacob said [G2036] the [G3588] to Laban, Send me [G1473] that [G2443] I may go forth into [G1519] the [G3588] my place [G5117][G1473], and [G2532] unto [G1519] the [G3588] my land '[G1093][G1473]!
26: Give to me [G1473] the [G3588] my wives [G1135][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] my children [G3813][G1473]! for [G4012] whom [G3739] I have served [G1398] to you [G1473], that [G2443] I might go forth . For you [G1473][G1063] know [G1097] the [G3588] servitude [G1397] which [G3739] I have served [G1398] you [G1473].
27: said [G2036] And [G1161] to him [G1473] Laban], If [G1487] I found [G2147] favor [G5484] before [G1726] you [G1473], could I foretell even -- blessed [G2127] me [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316] [in the [G3588] your [G4674] entrance [G1529].
28: You draw [G1291] the [G3588] your wage [G3408][G1473] from [G4314] me [G1473]! and [G2532] I will give [it [G1325].
29: said [G2036] And [G1161] Jacob] to him [G1473], You [G1473] know [G1097] in what [G3739] I served [G1398] you [G1473], and [G2532] how much [G3745] was cattle [G2934] of your [G1473] with [G3326] me [G1473].
30: little [G3397] For [G1063] there was as much as [G3745] was to you [G1473] before [G1726] me [G1473], and [G2532] it was grown into [G1519] a multitude [G4128]; and [G2532] blessed [G2127] you [G1473] Boss '[G2962] by [G1909] the [G3588] my foot [G4228][G1473]. Now [G3568] then [G3767], when [G4219] will produce [G4160] I also [G2504] for myself [G1683] a house [G3624]?
31: And [G2532] Laban said [G2036] to him [G1473], What [G5100] will I give to you [G1473][G1325]? said [G2036] And [G1161] to him [G1473] Jacob], You will not give [G3756][G1325] to me [G1473] anything [G3762]. If [G1437] you should do [G4160] for me [G1473] the [G3588] this word [G4487][G3778], again [G3825] I will tend [G4165] the [G3588] your flocks [G4263][G1473], and [G2532] guard [them [G5442].
32: Let go by [G3928] all [G3956] the [G3588] your flocks [G4263][G1473] today [G4594], and [G2532] you part [G1316] from there [G1564] every [G3956] sheep [G4263] gray among [G1722] the [G3588] rams , and [G2532] all [G3956] white-mixed and [G2532] speckled among [G1722] the [G3588] goats ! It will be to me [G1473] a wage [G3408].
33: And [G2532] will take heed [G1873] to me [G1473] the [G3588] my righteousness [G1343][G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] day [G2250] the [G3588] next [G1887]; for [G3754] is the [G3588] my wage [G3408][G1473] before [G1799] you [G1473] -- all [G3956] which [G3739] might not [G3361] be speckled and [G2532] white-mixed among [G1722] the [G3588] goats , and [G2532] gray among [G1722] the [G3588] rams , stolen [G2813] will be [as by [G3844] me [G1473].
34: said [G2036] And [G1161] to him [G1473] Laban], Let it be according to [G2596] the [G3588] your word [G4487][G1473]!
35: And [G2532] he drew apart [G1291] in [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565] the [G3588] he-goats [G5131] the [G3588] speckled , and [G2532] the [G3588] white-mixed , and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] goats , the [G3588] speckled and [G2532] the [G3588] white-mixed , and [G2532] all [G3956] gray , the one which [G3739] was among [G1722] the [G3588] rams . And [G2532] he gave [G1325] by [G1223] hand [G5495] of the [G3588] his sons [G5207][G1473].
36: And [G2532] he left a journey [G3598] of three [G5140] days [G2250] between them [G1473] and [G2532] between Jacob. And Jacob [G1161] tended [G4165] the [G3588] flocks [G4263] of Laban -- the [ones] the [G3588] left behind [G5275].
37: took [G2983] And [G1161] to himself [G1438] Jacob] a rod [G4464] poplar of green [G5515], and [G2532] of walnut , and [G2532] of plane tree . And [G2532] peeled them [G1473] Jacob peels [into] white [G3022], tearing away the [G3588] green [G5515]. And there appeared [G5316][G1161] upon [G1909] the [G3588] rods [G4464] the [G3588] white [G3022] which [G3739] he peeled -- varying [G4164].
38: And [G2532] he placed [G3908] the [G3588] rods [G4464] which [G3739] he peeled at [G1722] the [G3588] watering troughs [G3025] of the [G3588] channels of the [G3588] water [G5204]. That [G2443] whenever [G5613] came [G2064] the [G3588] flocks [G4263] to drink [G4095] in front of [G1799] the [G3588] rods [G4464] of those having come [G2064][G1473] to [G1519] the [G3588] drink [G4095], [the rods] should stimulate the [G3588] flocks [G4263] at [G1519] the [G3588] rods [G4464].
39: And [G2532] bore [G5088] the [G3588] flocks [G4263] white-mixed , and [G2532] colored [G4164], and [G2532] ashen speckled .
40: the the [G3588] And [G1161] lambs drew apart [G1291] Jacob]. And [G2532] he set [G2476] before [G1726] the [G3588] sheep [G4263] a ram white-mixed , and [G2532] every [G3956] colored [one [G4164] among [G1722] the [G3588] lambs . And [G2532] he parted [G1316] to himself [G1438] flocks [G4168] for [G2596] himself [G1438], and [G2532] did not [G3756] mix [G3396] them [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] flocks [G4263] of Laban.
41: And it came to pass [G1096][G1161] in [G1722] the [G3588] time [G2540] which [G3739] he stimulated the [G3588] flocks [G4263] in [G1722] womb [G1064], taking [them [G2983] put [G5087] Jacob] the [G3588] rods [G4464] before [G1726] the [G3588] flocks [G4263] at [G1722] the [G3588] watering troughs [G3025] [for] the [G3588] [purpose of] stimulating them [G1473] by [G2596] the [G3588] rods [G4464].
42: But whenever [G2259][G1161] bore [G5088] the [G3588] flocks [G4263] he did not [G3756] place [them [G5087]. became [G1096] And [G1161] the [G3588] unmarked the [G3588] Laban's, and the [G3588][G1161] marked [G1978] the [G3588] Jacob's.
43: And [G2532] became rich [G4147] the [G3588] man exceedingly [G4970], exceedingly [G4970]. And [G2532] there was [G1096] to him [G1473] cattle [G2934] much [G4183], and [G2532] oxen [G1016], and [G2532] manservants [G3816], and [G2532] maidservants [G3814], and [G2532] camels [G2574], and [G2532] donkeys [G3688].
