And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in entering [G1525] of David and [G2532] of the [G3588] his men [G1473] the [G3588] to Ziklag, on the [G3588] day [G2250] the [G3588] third [G5154], that [G2532] Amalek made an attack [G2007] upon [G1909] the [G3588] south [G3558], and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] Ziklag. And [G2532] it struck [G3960] the [G3588] Ziklag, and [G2532] burnt it [G1473] with [G1722] fire [G4442].

And [G2532] the [G3588] women [G1135], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] it [G1473], from small [G3397] unto [G2193] great [G3173] they did not [G3756] put to death [G2289], man nor [G3761] woman [G1135], but they took them captive , and [G2532] went forth in [G1519] the [G3588]ir way [G3598][G1473].

And [G2532] came [G2064] David and [G2532] the [G3588] his men [G1473] unto [G1519] the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532], look [G2400], it was burnt with [G1722] fire [G4442]; the [G3588] and [G1161] their wives [G1135][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588]ir sons [G5207][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588]ir daughters [G2364][G1473], were taken captive .

And [G2532] lifted David and [G2532] the [G3588] his men the [G3588]ir voice [G5456][G1473], and [G2532] they wept [G2799] until [G2193] whenever [G3748] no [G3756] there was strength [G2479] in [G1722] them [G1473] the [G3588] to weep [G2799] any longer [G2089].

And [G2532] both the [G3588] wives [G1135] of David were captured -- Ahinoam the [G3588] Jezreelitess, and [G2532] Abigail the [G3588] wife [G1135] of Nabal the [G3588] Carmelite.

And [G2532] David was afflicted [G2346] very much [G4970], for [G3754] said [G2036] the [G3588] people [G2992] to stone [G3036] him [G1473], for [G3754] were in severe pain of soul [G5590] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992], each [G1538] over [G1909] the [G3588] his sons [G5207][G1473], and [G2532] over [G1909] the [G3588] his daughters [G2364][G1473]. And [G2532] David was fortified [G2901] by [G1722] Boss '[G2962] his God '[G2316][G1473].

And [G2532] David said [G2036] to [G4314] Abiathar the [G3588] priest [G2409], son [G5207] of Ahimelech, Lead forward [G4317] the [G3588] ephod . And [G2532] Abiathar led forward [G4317] the [G3588] ephod to [G4314] David.

And [G2532] David asked [G1905] through [G1223] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962], saying [G3004], will [G1487] I pursue [G2614] after [G3694] the [G3588] this troop [G3778]? will [G1487] I overtake [G2638] them [G1473]? And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] Boss '[G2962], Pursue [G2614]! for [G3754] in overtaking [G2638] you will overtake [G2638] them [G1473], and [G2532] in rescuing [G1807] you will rescue [G1807].

And [G2532] David went [G4198], he [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] six hundred [G1812] men with [G3326] him [G1473]. And [G2532] they come [G2064] unto [G2193] the [G3588] rushing stream [G5493] of Besor, and [G2532] the [G3588] extra [ones [G4053] stopped [G2476].

And [G2532] pursued [G2614] about [G1722] four hundred [G5071] men , stood and [G1161] two hundred [G1250] men , who [G3748] sat down [G2523] on the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] rushing stream [G5493] the [G3588] Besor.

And [G2532] they find [G2147] an Egyptian man in [G1722] field , and [G2532] they take [G2983] him [G1473], and [G2532] convey ' him [G1473] to [G4314] David, and [G2532] give [G1325] to him [G1473] bread and [G2532] he ate [G2068], and [G2532] they gave to drink [G4222] him [G1473] water [G5204].

And [G2532] they give [G1325] to him [G1473] a piece [G2801] of dried cluster of figs , and [G2532] two [G1417] dried grape [clusters ; and [G2532] he ate [G2068], and [G2532] stood [up [G2525] the [G3588] his wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151][G1473] in [G1722] him [G1473]. For [G3754] he had not [G3756] eaten bread , and [G2532] had not [G3756] drank [G4095] water [G5204], three [G5140] days [G2250] and [G2532] three [G5140] nights [G3571].

And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] David], Who [G5100] are you [G1473], and [G2532] from what place [G4159] are you ? And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] servant-lad [G3808] the [G3588] Egyptian], I [G1473] am a servant [G1401] of a man , an Amalekite; and [G2532] left [G2641] me [G1473] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] for [G3754] I was unwell [G1776][G1473], today [G4594] being three days .

And [G2532] we [G1473] made an attack [G2007] upon [G1909] the [G3588] south [G3558] of the [G3588] Cherethites, and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] [ones] of the [G3588] part of Judea [G3313], and [G2532] to the [G1909] south [G3558] of Caleb; and [G2532] the [G3588] Ziklag we burnt in [G1722] fire [G4442].

And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] David], Will [G1487] you lead [G2609] me [G1473] to [G1909] the [G3588] this troop [G3778]? And [G2532] he said [G2036], [If] you swear by an oath [G3660] indeed [G1211] to me [G1473] according to [G2596] the [G3588] God '[G2316] to not [G3361] put me to death [G2289][G1473], and [G2532] not [G3361] to deliver [G3860] me [G1473] into [G1519] hands [G5495] of the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473], then [G2532] I will lead [G2609] you [G1473] to [G1909] the [G3588] this troop [G3778].

And [G2532] he led [G2609] him [G1473]. And [G2532] look [G2400], these [G3778] were dispersed upon [G1909] face [G4383] of all [G3956] the [G3588] land '[G1093], eating [G2068] and [G2532] drinking [G4095], and [G2532] celebrating [G1858] over [G1909] all [G3956] the [G3588] spoils [G4661] the [G3588] great [G3173] which [G3739] they took [G2983] from out of [G1537] land '[G1093] of Philistines , and [G2532] from out of [G1537] land '[G1093] of Judah.

And [G2532] came [G2064] upon [G1909] them [G1473] David], and [G2532] he struck [G3960] them [G1473] from morning star and [G2532] until [G2193] evening even [G2532] of the [G3588] next day [G1887]. And [G2532] was not preserved [G3756][G1295] of [G1537] them [G1473] a man , but [G3754] only four hundred [G5071] boys [G3808] who [G3739] mounted [G1910] upon [G1909] camels [G2574] and [G2532] fled [G5343].

And [G2532] David removed all [G3956] which [G3739] took [G2983] the [G3588] Amalekites]; and [G2532] both the [G3588] his wives [G1135][G1473] he rescued [G1807].

And [G2532] nothing [G3756] was perished to them [G1473] from small [G3397] and [G2532] unto [G2193] great [G3173], and [G2532] unto [G2193] sons [G5207] and [G2532] daughters [G2364], [G2532] from the [G3588] spoils [G4661] and [G2532] unto [G2193] all [G3956] what [G3739] they took [G2983] of theirs [G1473] -- all the [things] [G3588][G3956] David returned [G1994].

And [G2532] David took [G2983] all [G3956] the [G3588] flocks [G4168] and [G2532] the [G3588] herds , and [G2532] led them away before [G1715] the [G3588] spoils [G4661]. And [G2532] [concerning the [G3588] those spoils [G4661][G1565] it was said [G3004], These [are [G3778] the [G3588] spoils [G4661] of David.

And [G2532] David came [G3854] to [G4314] the [G3588] two hundred [G1250] men (the [ones] [G3588] being left behind [G5275] of the [troop the [G3588] going [G4198] after [G3694] David) that [G3739] sat down [G2523] at [G1722] the [G3588] rushing stream [G5493] of Besor. And [G2532] they came forth [G1831] to [G1519] meet David, and [G2532] to [G1519] meet the [G3588] people [G2992] of the [G3588] [one] with [G3326] him [G1473]. And [G2532] David came forward [G4334] unto [G2193] of the [G3588] people [G2992], and [G2532] he asked [G2065] them [G1473] the [greetings for the [G3588] [G1519] peace [G1515].

And [G2532] responded every [G3956] man pestilent [G3061] and [G2532] wicked [G4190] of the [G3588] men the [G3588] warriors the [G3588] going [G4198] with [G3326] David. And [G2532] they said [G2036] that [G3754], They did not [G3756] pursue [G2614] with [G3326] us [G1473], we will not [G3756] give [G1325] to them [G1473] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] spoils [G4661] which [G3739] we rescued [G1807], but each [G1538] the [G3588] his wife [G1135][G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] his children [G5043][G1473] let take away , and [G2532] let them return !

And [G2532] David said [G2036], You will not [G3756] do [G4160] my brothers [G1473] thus [G3779] after [G3326] the [G3588] delivering up [of the enemy [G3860] by the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] to us [G1473], and [G2532] guarded [G5442] us [G1473], and [G2532] BOSS delivered up [G3860][G2962] the [G3588] troop , the [G3588] [one] coming [G1904] upon [G1909] us [G1473], into [G1519] our hands [G5495][G1473].

And [G2532] who [G5100] will heed [G1873] your [G1473] words [G3056] these [G3778], for [G3754] not [G3756] inferior [G2276] to us [G1473] they are ; for [G1360] according to [G2596] the [G3588] portion [G3310] of the [G3588] [one] going down [G2597] to [G1519] the [G3588] war [G4171], so [G3779] will be the [G3588] portion [G3310] of the [G3588] [one] staying [G2521] by [G1909] the [G3588] equipment [G4632]; according to [G2596] the [G3588] same [G1473] they will be portioned [G3307].

And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] from the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565] and [G2532] forward [G1883], that [G2532] it became [G1096] for [G1519] an order and [G2532] for [G1519] an ordinance [G1345] the [G3588] in Israel until [G2193] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778].

And [G2532] David came [G2064] to [G1519] Ziklag, and [G2532] he sent to the [G3588] elders [G4245] of Judah, and [G2532] to the [G3588] his neighbors [G4139][G1473] of the [G3588] spoils [G4661], saying [G3004], look [G2400], a blessing [G2129] to you [G1473] from the [G3588] spoils [G4661] of the [G3588] enemies [G2190] of Boss '[G2962];

to the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Beth-el, and [G2532] to the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Ramoth of south [G3558], and [G2532] to the [G3588] [ones] [in] Jattir,

and [G2532] to the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Aroer, and [G2532] to the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Siphmoth, and [G2532] to the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Eshtemoa,

and [G2532] to the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Rachal, and [G2532] to the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] the [G3588] cities [G4172] of the [G3588] Jerahmeelite, and [G2532] to the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] the [G3588] cities [G4172] of the [G3588] Kenite;

and [G2532] to the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Hormah, and [G2532] to the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Beer-ashan, and [G2532] to the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Athach;

and [G2532] to the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Hebron, and [G2532] into [G1519] all [G3956] the [G3588] places [G5117] which [G3739] David went [G1330] there [G1563], he [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] his men [G1473].
