And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] after [G3326] the [G3588] decease [G5054] of Joshua, that [G2532] asked [G1905] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] in [G1722] Boss '[G2962], saying [G3004], Who [G5100] will go up with us [G1473] against [G4314] the [G3588] Canaanite guiding the [G3588] to wage war [G4170] against [G4314] them [G1473].

And [G2532] BOSS said [G2036][G2962], Judah will go up ; look [G2400], I have put [G1325] the [G3588] land '[G1093] in [G1722] his hand [G5495][G1473].

And [G2532] Judah said [G2036] to [G4314] Simeon the [G3588] brother of him [G1473], go up with [G3326] me [G1473] unto [G1722] the [G3588] my lot [G2819][G1473], for [G2532] we should wage war [G4170] with [G1722] the [G3588] Canaanite, and [G2532] I will go [G4198] also [G2504] with [G3326] you [G1473] unto [G1722] the [G3588] your lot [G2819][G1473]. And [G2532] went [G4198] with [G3326] him [G1473] Simeon].

And [G2532] Judah went up . And [G2532] BOSS gave [G1325][G2962] the [G3588] Canaanite and [G2532] the [G3588] Perizzite into [G1722] his hand [G5495][G1473]; and [G2532] they struck [G3960] them [G1473] in [G1722] Bezek -- ten [G1176] thousand [G5505] men .

And [G2532] they found [G2147] the [G3588] Adoni-bezek in [G1722] Bezek. And [G2532] they waged war [G4170] with [G1722] him [G1473], and [G2532] they struck [G3960] the [G3588] Canaanite and [G2532] the [G3588] Perizzite.

And [G2532] Adoni-bezek fled [G5343]; and [G2532] they pursued [G2614] after [G3694] him [G1473], and [G2532] took [G2983] him [G1473], and [G2532] cut off the [G3588] thumbs of the [G3588] his hands [G5495][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] big toes of the [G3588] his feet [G4228][G1473].

And [G2532] Adoni-bezek said [G2036], Seventy [G1440] kings the [G3588] thumbs of the [G3588]ir hands [G5495][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] big toes of the [G3588]ir feet [G4228][G1473] being cut off were collected together [G4816] the [G3588] underneath [G5270] the [G3588] my table [G5132][G1473]. As [G2531] then [G3767] I did [G4160], so [G3779] recompensed to me [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316]. And [G2532] they conveyed ' him [G1473] unto [G1519] Jerusalem, and [G2532] he died there [G1563].

And [G2532] waged war [G4170] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Judah] with [G1722] Jerusalem, and [G2532] overtook [G2638] it [G1473], and [G2532] struck [G3960] it [G1473] by [G1722] mouth [G4750] of broadsword [G4501], and [G2532] the [G3588] city [G4172] they burnt [G1714] with [G1722] fire [G4442].

And [G2532] after [G3326] these [things] [G3778] went down [G2597] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Judah] to wage war [G4170] with [G1722] the [G3588] Canaanite the [G3588] dwelling [G2730] the [G3588] mountainous area [G3714], and [G2532] the [G3588] south [G3558], and [G2532] the [G3588] plain [country [G3977].

And [G2532] Judah went [G4198] to [G4314] the [G3588] Canaanite the [G3588] dwelling [G2730] in [G1722] Hebron; and the [G3588][G1161] name [G3686] Hebron was for the [G3588]merly [G4387] Kirjath-arba. And [G2532] they struck [G3960] the [G3588] Sheshai, and [G2532] Ahiman, and [G2532] the [G3588] Talmai, offspring [G1081] of the [G3588] Anak.

And [G2532] they went [G4198] from there [G1564] to [G4314] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in Debir; and the [G3588][G1161] name [G3686] the [G3588] Debir was formerly [G1715] Kirjath-sepher -- City [G4172] of Letters [G1121].

And [G2532] Caleb said [G2036], Who [G3739] ever should strike [G3960] the [G3588] City [G4172] of the [G3588] Letters [G1121], and [G2532] be first to take it [G1473], I will give [G1325] to him [G1473] the [G3588] Achsah my daughter [G2364][G1473] for [G1519] a wife [G1135].

And [G2532] first to take it [G1473] [was] Othniel son [G5207] of Kenaz, brother of Caleb the [G3588] younger [G3501]. And [G2532] he gave [G1325] to him [G1473] the [G3588] Achsah his daughter [G2364][G1473] for [G1519] a wife [G1135].

And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] her entering [G1531][G1473], that [G2532] he stirred her [G1473] the [G3588] to ask for from [G3844] the [G3588] her father [G3962][G1473] a field . And [G2532] she grumbled [G1111] upon [G1883] the [G3588] [her] beast of burden [G5268]. And [G2532] said [G2036] to her [G1473] Caleb], What [G5100] is it with you [G1473]?

And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] Achsah], Give [G1325] indeed [G1211] to me [G1473] a blessing [G2129], for [G3754] into [G1519] land '[G1093] of south [G3558] you have handed me over [G1554][G1473], and [G2532] you will give [G1325] to me [G1473] a ransoming [G3085] of water [G5204]. And [G2532] gave [G1325] to her [G1473] Caleb] ransom [G3085] of elevated [springs , and [G2532] ransom [G3085] of ones below [G5011].

And [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Jothor the [G3588] Kenite, father-in-law [G3995] of Moses, went up from out of [G1537] the [G3588] city [G4172] of the [G3588] palms [G5404] to [G4314] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Judah, into [G1519] the [G3588] wilderness [G2048] of Judah, the [G3588] [one] being in [G1722] the [G3588] south [G3558] upon [G1909] descent [G2600] of Arad; and [G2532] they went [G4198] and [G2532] dwelt [G2730] with [G3326] the [G3588] people [G2992].

And [G2532] Judah went [G4198] with [G3326] Simeon the [G3588] brother of him [G1473], and [G2532] they struck [G3960] the [G3588] Canaanite the [G3588] dwelling [G2730] in Zephath, and [G2532] they devoted it to consumption [G1473], and [G2532] utterly destroyed [G1842] it [G1473]. And [G2532] they called [G2564] the [G3588] name [G3686] of the [G3588] city [G4172], Devastation .

And [G2532] Judah inherited [G2816] the [G3588] Gaza and [G2532] the [G3588] her border [G3725][G1473]; and [G2532] the [G3588] Ekron and [G2532] the [G3588] her border [G3725][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] Ashkelon and [G2532] the [G3588] her border [G3725][G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] Ashdod and [G2532] the [G3588] her outskirts [G1473].

And [G2532] BOSS was [G2962] with [G3326] Judah; and [G2532] he inherited [G2816] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735], for [G3754] he was not able [G3756][G1410] to inherit [G2816] ones the [G3588] dwelling [G2730] in the [G3588] valley , for [G3754] it was separated [G1291] to them [G1473], and [G2532] [there were] chariots of iron [G4603] to them [G1473].

And [G2532] they gave [G1325] [to the [G3588] Caleb the [G3588] Hebron], as [G2505] Moses spoke [G2980]. And [G2532] he removed [G1808] there [G1563] the [G3588] three [G5140] sons [G5207] of Anak.

And [G2532] the [G3588] Jebusite the [G3588] dwelling [G2730] Jerusalem did not remove [G3756][G1808] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Benjamin]. And [G2532] dwelt [G2730] the [G3588] Jebusite] with [G3326] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Benjamin in [G1722] Jerusalem until [G2193] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778].

And [G2532] went up the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Joseph], and [G2532] indeed [G1065] they [G1473] [went] into [G1519] Beth-el, and [G2532] Boss '[G2962] was with [G3326] them [G1473].

And [G2532] they camped , and [G2532] surveyed Beth-el; and the [G3588][G1161] name [G3686] of the [G3588] city [G4172] was formerly [G1715] Luz.

And [G2532] looked [at] [G1492] the [G3588] [ones] keeping guard [G5442] a man going forth [G1607] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] they took [G2983] him [G1473], and [G2532] they said [G2036] to him [G1473], Show [G1166] to us [G1473] the [G3588] entrance [G1529] of the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] we will deal [G4160] with [G3326] you [G1473] mercifully [G1656].

And [G2532] he showed [G1166] to them [G1473] the [G3588] entrance [G1529] of the [G3588] city [G4172]; and [G2532] they struck [G3960] the [G3588] city [G4172] by [G1722] mouth [G4750] of broadsword [G4501]; but the [G3588][G1161] man and [G2532] the [G3588] his kin [G4772][G1473] they sent out [G1821].

And [G2532] went forth the [G3588] man into [G1519] land '[G1093] of Hittite, and [G2532] he built [G3618] there [G1563] a city [G4172], and [G2532] he called [G2564] the [G3588] name [G3686] of it [G1473], Luz; this [G3778] [is] its name [G3686][G1473] until [G2193] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778].

And [G2532] did not [G3756] remove [G1808] Manasseh the [G3588] Beth-shean nor [G3761] the [G3588] its daughter [towns [G2364][G1473], nor [G3761] Taanach and [G2532] the [G3588] her daughter [towns [G2364][G1473], nor [G3761] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in Dor and [G2532] the [G3588] her daughter [towns [G2364][G1473], nor [G3761] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] Megiddo and [G2532] the [G3588] her daughter [towns [G2364][G1473], nor [G3761] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] Ibleam nor [G3761] the [G3588] her daughter [towns [G2364][G1473]. And [G2532] began the [G3588] Canaanite] to dwell [G2730] in [G1722] the [G3588] this land '[G1093][G3778].

And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] when [G3753] Israel grew in strength [G1765], that [G2532] he established [G5087] the [G3588] Canaanite for [G1519] tribute [G5411], but [G2532] by removing [G1808] he did not [G3756] remove [G1808] him [G1473].

And [G2532] Ephraim did not [G3756] remove [G1808] the [G3588] Canaanite the [G3588] dwelling [G2730] in [G1722] Gezer; and [G2532] dwelt [G2730] the [G3588] Canaanite] in [G1722] midst [G3319] of him [G1473] in [G1722] Gezer.

And [G2532] Zebulun did not [G3756] remove [G1808] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in Kitron, and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] Nahalol. And [G2532] dwelt [G2730] the [G3588] Canaanite] in [G1722] midst [G3319] of them [G1473], and [G2532] it became [G1096] for [G1519] tribute [G5411].

And [G2532] Asher did not [G3756] remove [G1808] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] Accho, and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] Sidon, and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] Ahlab, and [G2532] the [G3588] Achzib, and [G2532] the [G3588] Helbah, and [G2532] the [G3588] Aphik, and [G2532] the [G3588] Rehob.

And [G2532] Asher dwelt [G2730] the [G3588] in [G1722] midst [G3319] of the [G3588] Canaanite the [G3588] dwelling [G2730] in the [G3588] land '[G1093]; for [G3754] he was not [G3756] able [G1410] to remove [G1808] him [G1473].

And [G2532] Naphtali did not [G3756] remove [G1808] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in Beth-shemesh, and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in Beth-anath. And [G2532] Naphtali dwelt [G2730] in [G1722] midst [G3319] of the [G3588] Canaanite the [G3588] dwelling [G2730] in the [G3588] land '[G1093]. But the [G3588] [ones] [G1161] dwelling [G2730] in Beth-shemesh and [G2532] the [G3588] in Beth-anath became [G1096] to them [G1473] for [G1519] tribute [G5411].

And [G2532] squeezed out the [G3588] Amorite] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Dan into [G1519] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735]; for [G3754] they did not [G3756] let him [G1473] go down [G2597] into [G1519] the [G3588] valley .

And [G2532] began the [G3588] Amorite] to dwell [G2730] in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] the [G3588] Heres of which [G3739] the [G3588] bears and [G2532] the [G3588] foxes [are ; and [G2532] was oppressive the [G3588] hand [G5495] of house [G3624] of Joseph] upon [G1909] the [G3588] Amorite, and [G2532] he became [G1096] for [G1519] tribute [G5411].

And [G2532] the [G3588] border [G3725] of the [G3588] Amorite [was] from the [G3588] ascending of Akrabbim, from the [G3588] rock [G4073], and [G2532] above [G1883].
