Genesis Chapter 28 - | Early Church Bible

1: having called [G4341] And [G1161] Isaac the [G3588] Jacob, blessed [G2127] him [G1473], and [G2532] gave charge [G1781] to him [G1473], saying [G3004], Not [G3756] will you take [G2983] a wife [G1135] from [G1537] the [G3588] daughters [G2364] of the [G3588] Canaanites.
2: Having risen up , you run away unto [G1519] the [G3588] Mesopotamia to [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Bethuel the [G3588] father [G3962] of the [G3588] your mother [G3384][G1473]! and [G2532] take [G2983] to yourself [G4572] from there [G1564] a wife [G1135] from [G1537] the [G3588] daughters [G2364] of Laban the [G3588] brother of the [G3588] your mother [G3384][G1473]!
3: the [G3588] And [G1161] God '[G2316] of me [G1473] may bless [G2127] you [G1473], and [G2532] increase you [G1473], and [G2532] multiply [G4129] you [G1473]; and [G2532] you will be for [G1519] gatherings [G4864] of tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484].
4: And [G2532] may he give [G1325] to you [G1473] the [G3588] blessing [G2129] of Abraham, the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473], to you [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] your seed [G4690][G1473] after [G3326] you [G1473]; to inherit [G2816] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of the [G3588] your sojourning [G1473], which [G3739] God gave [G1325] the [G3588][G2316] the [G3588] to Abraham.
5: And [G2532] Isaac sent the [G3588] Jacob. And [G2532] he went [G4198] into [G1519] the [G3588] Mesopotamia to [G4314] Laban the [G3588] son [G5207] of Bethuel the [G3588] Syrian, brother of Rebekah, the [G3588] mother [G3384] of Jacob and [G2532] Esau.
6: having seen [G1492] And [G1161] Esau] that [G3754] Isaac blessed [G2127] the [G3588] Jacob, and [G2532] sent [him into [G1519] the [G3588] Mesopotamia of Syria to take [G2983] to himself [G1438] a wife [G1135] from there [G1564] -- in [G1722] the [G3588] blessing [G2127] him [G1473], and [G2532] gave charge [G1781] to him [G1473], saying [G3004], You will not [G3756] take [G2983] a wife [G1135] of the [G3588] daughters [G2364] of the [G3588] Canaanites,
7: that [G2532] Jacob hearkened to the [G3588] father [G3962] and [G2532] the [G3588] mother [G3384] of him '[G1473], and [G2532] went [G4198] into [G1519] the [G3588] Mesopotamia of Syria,
8: and seeing [G1492][G1161], even [G2532] Esau, that [G3754] are wicked [G4190] the [G3588] daughters [G2364] of Canaan] before [G1726] Isaac the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473],
9: that [G2532] Esau went [G4198] to [G4314] Ishmael, and [G2532] he took [G2983] the [G3588] Mahalath daughter [G2364] of Ishmael, the [G3588] son [G5207] of Abraham, sister of Nebajoth, to [G4314] the [G3588] his wives [G1135][G1473], [as a] wife [G1135].
10: And [G2532] Jacob went forth [G1831] from the [G3588] Well [G5421] of the [G3588] Oath [G3727], and [G2532] went [G4198] into [G1519] Haran.
11: And [G2532] he encountered a place [G5117], and [G2532] slept [G2837] there [G1563], went down [G1416] for [G1063] the [G3588] sun [G2246]. And [G2532] he took [G2983] from [one of the [G3588] stones [G3037] of the [G3588] place [G5117], and [G2532] put [it [G5087] at [G4314] his head [G2776][G1473], and [G2532] went to sleep [G2837] in [G1722] the [G3588] that place [G5117][G1565].
12: And [G2532] he dreamed [G1797]. And [G2532] look [G2400], [there was a] stairway being supported [G4741] by [G1722] the [G3588] land '[G1093], of which [G3739] the [G3588] top [G2776] arrived in [G1519] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772]. And [G2532] the [G3588] word-conveyers (messengers) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316] went up and [G2532] descended [G2597] upon [G1909] it [G1473].
13: And the [G3588][G1161] Boss '[G2962] stayed [G1991] upon [G1909] it [G1473]. And [G2532] he said [G2036], I [am [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Abraham the [G3588] father [G3962] of you [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Isaac. Do not [G3361] fear [G5399]! the [G3588] land '[G1093] of [G1909] which [G3739] you [G1473] sleep [G2518] upon [G1909] it [G1473], to you [G1473] I will give [G1325] it [G1473], and [G2532] [to the [G3588] your seed [G4690][G1473].
14: And [G2532] will be the [G3588] your seed [G4690][G1473] as [G5613] sand of the [G3588] land '[G1093]. And [G2532] it will be widened [G4115] unto [G1909] west [G2281], and [G2532] south [G3047], and [G2532] north [G1005], and [G2532] unto [G1909] east . And [G2532] will be blessed [G1757] by [G1722] you [G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] tribes [G5443] of the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] by [G1722] the [G3588] your seed [G4690][G1473].
15: And [G2532] look [G2400], I [G1473] am with [G3326] you [G1473], guarding [G1314] you [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598] every [G3956] of which [G3739] ever you may go [G4198]. And [G2532] I will return you [G1473] to [G1519] the [G3588] this land '[G1093][G3778], for [G3754] no way would I abandon you [G1473][G1459] until [G2193] the [G3588] my doing [G4160][G1473] all [G3956] as much as [G3745] I spoke [G2980] to you [G1473].
16: And [G2532] Jacob awoke [G1825] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] his sleep [G5258][G1473]. And [G2532] he said [G2036] that [G3754], BOSS is [G2962] in [G1722] the [G3588] this place [G5117][G3778], but I [G1473][G1161] had not [G3756] known [it [G1492].
17: And [G2532] he feared [G5399], and [G2532] said [G2036], How [G5613] fearful [G5398] the [G3588] this place [G5117][G3778]. Not [G3756] is this [G3778] none other than house [G3624] of God '[G2316], and [G2532] this [G3778] the [G3588] gate [G4439] of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772].
18: And [G2532] Jacob rose up in the morning [G4404], and [G2532] took [G2983] the [G3588] stone [G3037] which [G3739] he placed [G5294] there [G1563] at [G4314] his head [G2776][G1473]. And [G2532] he set [G2476] it [G1473] [as a] monument , and [G2532] poured [G2022] oil [G1637] upon [G1909] the [G3588] top of it [G1473].
19: And [G2532] he called [G2564] the [G3588] name [G3686] of the [G3588] that place [G5117][G1565], House [G3624] of God '[G2316], and [G2532] Lam-luz was name [G3686] to the [G3588] city [G4172] for the [G3588]merly [G4387].
20: And [G2532] Jacob vowed [G2172] a vow [G2171], saying [G3004], If [G1437] should be Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] with [G3326] me [G1473], and [G2532] should guard [G1314] me [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] this journey [G3598][G3778] which [G3739] I [G1473] go [G4198], and [G2532] should give [G1325] to me [G1473] bread to eat [G2068], and [G2532] a cloak [G2440] to put on [G4016],
21: and [G2532] will return me [G1473] with [G3326] safety [G4991] unto [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473], and [G2532] BOSS will be [G2962] to me [G1473] for [G1519] God '[G2316],
22: and [G2532] the [G3588] this stone [G3037][G3778] which [G3739] I set [G2476] [as a] monument , will be to me [G1473] a house [G3624] of God '[G2316]. And [G2532] all [G3956], what [G3739] ever [G1437], you should give to me [G1473][G1325], a tenth [G1181] I will tithe of it [G1473] to you [G1473].
