And [G2532] prophesied [G4395] Haggai the [G3588] prophet [G4396], and [G2532] Zechariah the [G3588] [son of the [G3588] Iddo, a prophecy [G4394] over [G1909] the [G3588] Jews, of the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Judah and [G2532] in [G1722] Jerusalem in [G1722] name [G3686] of God '[G2316] of Israel, over [G1909] them [G1473].

Then [G5119] rose up Zerubbabel the [G3588] [son of the [G3588] Shealtiel, and [G2532] Jeshua son [G5207] of Jozadak, and [G2532] they began to build [G3618] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] Jerusalem; and [G2532] with [G3326] them [G1473] [were] the [G3588] prophets [G4396] of the [G3588] God '[G2316] to help them [G1473].

At [G1722] that same [G1473] the [G3588] time [G2540] [there] came [G2064] upon [G1909] them [G1473] Tatnai chief ruler on the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river [G4215], and [G2532] Shethar-boznai, and [G2532] the [G3588]ir fellow-servants [G4889][G1473], and [G2532] of such [G5107] he said [G2036] to them [G1473], Who [G5100] ordained [G5087] to you [G1473] a decree [G1106] the [G3588] to build [G3618] the [G3588] this house [G3624][G3778], and [G2532] the [G3588] this expense [G3778] to ready [G2675]?

Then [G5119] they [G3778] said [G2036] to them [G1473], What [G5100] are the [G3588] names [G3686] of the [G3588] men the [G3588] building [G3618] the [G3588] this city [G4172][G3778]?

But [G2532] the [G3588] eyes [G3788] of the [G3588] God '[G2316] became [G1096] upon [G1909] the [G3588] captivity of Judah, and [G2532] they did not [G3756] cause them to cease work [G2673][G1473] until [G2193] decree [G1106] the [G3588] [was] carried to Darius . And [G2532] then [G5119] it was given [G1325] to the [G3588] tribute-gatherer concerning [G4012] this [G3778].

explanation by letter [G1992] which [G3739] was sent [by] Tatnai the [G3588] chief ruler the [G3588] on the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river [G4215], and [G2532] Shethar-boznai, and [G2532] the [G3588]ir fellow-servants [G4889][G1473] -- Apharsachites, the [G3588] [ones] on [G1722] the [G3588] other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river [G4215], to Darius the [G3588] king .

a word [G4487] They sent to [G4314] him [G1473], and [G2532] thus [G3592] was written [G1125] in [G1722] it [G1473], To Darius the [G3588] king , all peace [G1515][G3956].

Let it be known [G1110] to the [G3588] king ! that [G3754] we went [G4198] into [G1519] the [G3588] Judea, place [G5561] for [G1519] house [G3624] of the [G3588] great God '[G2316] the [G3588][G3173], and [G2532] it [G1473] is being built [G3618] with [G1722] the [G3588] stones [G3037] choice [G1588]; and [G2532] timber [G3586] is inserted in [G1722] the [G3588] walls [G5109], and [G2532] the [G3588] that work [G2041][G1565] [is] fittingly done [G1096], and [G2532] the way is prospering [G2137] in [G1722] the [G3588]ir hands [G5495][G1473].

Then [G5119] we asked [G2065] the [G3588] those elders [G4245][G1565], and [G2532] thus [G3779] we said [G2036] to them [G1473], Who [G5100] rendered [G5087] to you [G1473] a decree [G1106] the [G3588] this house [G3624][G3778] to build [G3618], and [G2532] the [G3588] bestowing of this expense [G3778] to ready it [G2675]?

And [G2532] the [G3588]ir names [G3686][G1473] we asked [G2065] of them [G1473], the [G3588] to make known [G1107] to you [G1473], so as [G5620] to write [G1125] to you [G1473] the [G3588] names [G3686] of the [G3588] men of the [G3588]ir rulers [G1473].

And [G2532] such [G5108] a word [G4487] they answered to us [G1473], saying [G3004] to us [G1473], We are menservants [G1401] of the [G3588] God '[G2316] of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] and [G2532] of the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] we are building [G3618] the [G3588] house [G3624] which [G3739] was built [G3618] before [G4253] this [G3778] years [G2094] many [G4183], and [G2532] king of the [G3588] Israel a great [G3173] built [G3618] it [G1473], and [G2532] readied [G2675] it [G1473] for them [G1473].

from when [G3753] But [G1161] provoked to anger [G3949] the [G3588] our fathers [G3962][G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], he gave [G1325] them [G1473] into [G1519] hands [G5495] of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the [G3588] Chaldean, and [G2532] the [G3588] this house [G3624][G3778] he caused to rest [G2647], and [G2532] the [G3588] people [G2992] he resettled in [G1519] Babylon.

But in [G1722] year [G2094] the [G3588] first [G4413] of Cyrus ["Boss" [G2962] the [G3588] king of the [G3588] Babylonians, Cyrus ["Boss" [G2962] the [G3588] king rendered [G5087] a decree [G1106] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] God '[G2316] this [G3778] to build [G3618].

And [G2532] the [G3588] items [G4632] of the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], the [G3588] [ones] of gold [G5552] and [G2532] silver , which [G3739] Nebuchadnezzar brought forth [G1627] from the [G3588] house [G3624], of the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] Jerusalem, and [G2532] carried them [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] temple [G3485] of the [G3588] king , the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] Babylon -- brought them forth [G1627][G1473] Cyrus ["Boss" [G2962] the [G3588] king from the [G3588] temple [G3485], of the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] Babylon, and [G2532] gave [G1325] them [G1473] [to the [G3588] Sheshbazzar, to the [G3588] treasurer , to the [G3588] [one] over [G1909] the [G3588] treasury [G2344].

And [G2532] he said [G2036] to him [G1473], These [G3778] the [G3588] items [G4632] take [G2983] and [G2532] go [G4198]! Put [G5087] them [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3624] the [G3588] in [G1722] Jerusalem! And [G2532] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] God '[G2316] -- let it be built [G3618] in [G1519] the [G3588] its [G1473] place [G5117]!

Then [G5119] that Sheshbazzar [G1565] came [G2064] and [G2532] put [down [G1325] the [G3588] foundations [G2310] of the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] Jerusalem. And [G2532] from then [G5119] until [G2193] the [G3588] now [G3568] it is being built [G3618], and [G2532] was not finished [G3756][G5055].

And [G2532] now [G3568] if [G1487] for [G1909] the [G3588] king [it seems] good , let it be overseen [G1983] in [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] treasury [G1047] of the [G3588] king there [G1563] in [G1722] Babylon! so as [G3704] to know [G1097] that [if [G3754] from the [G3588] king Cyrus ["Boss" [G2962] was rendered [G5087] a decree [G1106] to build [G3618] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], that one [G1565] the [G3588] in [G1722] Jerusalem. And [G2532] knowing [G1097] the [G3588] king concerning [G4012] this [G3778], let him send forth [a reply [G3992] to [G4314] us [G1473]!
