Judges Chapter 6 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] acted [G4160] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel the [G3588] wickedly [G4190] before [G1725] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] delivered them over [G3860][G1473] Boss '[G2962] into [G1722] hand [G5495] of Midian for seven [G2033] years [G2094].
2: And [G2532] prevailed [G2729] hand [G5495] of Midian] against [G1909] Israel. Because off presence [G4383] of Midian made [G4160] for themselves [G1438] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel the [G3588] havens in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-places (mountains) '[G3735], and [G2532] in the [G3588] caves [G4693], and [G2532] in for the [G3588]tresses [G3794].
3: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] when [G3753] sowed [G4687] a man of Israel], that [G2532] there ascended up Midian and [G2532] Amalek; even [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of east were going up against them [G1473].
4: And [G2532] they camped by [G1909] them [G1473], and [G2532] they ruined [G1311] the [G3588] resources of the [G3588] land '[G1093] unto [G2193] the [G3588] coming [G2064] unto [G1519] Gaza. And [G2532] there was not left behind [G3756][G5275] support [G5287] for life [G2222] in [G1722] Israel, even [G2532] [for the] flock [G4168], and [G2532] calf [G3448], and [G2532] donkey [G3688].
5: For [G3754] they [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588]ir livestock [G2934][G1473] went up and [G2532] the [G3588]ir tents [G4633][G1473] they carried about with [G3911]; and [G2532] they came [G3854] as [G5613] locusts by [G1519] multitude [G4128]. And [G2532] for them [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588]ir camels [G2574][G1473] no [G3756] there was number . And [G2532] they came [G3854] in [G1722] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of Israel the [G3588] to ruin [G1311] it [G1473].
6: And [G2532] Israel became poor [G4433], exceedingly [G4970], from presence [G4383] of Midian.
7: And [G2532] cried out [G2896] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] to [G4314] Boss '[G2962]. And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] when [G1893] cried out [G2896] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] to [G4314] Boss '[G2962] on account of [G1223] Midian,
8: BOSS sent [G1821][G2962] a man , a prophet [G4396], to [G4314] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel. And [G2532] he said [G2036] to them [G1473], Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel, I [G1473] am the [G3588] [one] bringing you up [G1473] from [G1537] Egypt, and [G2532] I led [G1806] you [G1473] from [G1537] house [G3624] of slavery [G1397];
9: and [G2532] I rescued [G1807] you [G1473] from [G1537] hand [G5495] of Egypt, and [G2532] from [G1537] hand [G5495] of all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] afflicting [G2346] you [G1473]; and [G2532] I cast [G1544] them [G1473] from [G1537] face [G4383] of you [G1473], and [G2532] I gave [G1325] to you [G1473] the [G3588]ir land '[G1093][G1473].
10: And [G2532] I said [G2036] to you [G1473], I [G1473] am Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473]; you will not [G3756] fear [G5399] the [G3588] gods '[G2316] of the [G3588] Amorites in [G1722] which [G3739] you [G1473] dwell [G2730] in [G1722] the [G3588]ir land '[G1093][G1473]. But [G2532] you hearkened not to [G3756][G1522] the [G3588] my voice [G5456][G1473].
11: And [G2532] came [G2064] a word-conveyer (messenger) ' [of the] Boss '[G2962] and [G2532] sat down [G2523] under [G5259] the [G3588] oak , the [G3588] [one] being in [G1722] Ophrah, the [G3588] [one] of of the [G3588] Joash father [G3962] [of the [G3588] Ezri. And [G2532] Gideon the [G3588] son [G5207] of him [G1473] beat with a rod [G4463] wheat in [G1722] a wine-vat [G3025], the [G3588] to flee [G1628] from [G1537] face [G4383] of Midian.
12: And [G2532] appeared [G3708] to him [G1473] the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' [of the] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473], Boss '[G2962] [is] with [G3326] you [G1473] mighty [G1415] the [G3588] in strength [G2479].
13: And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473] Gideon], [Be it [G1722] to me [G1473], O my Boss '[G2962][G1473], and [G2532] if [G1487] BOSS is [G2962] with [G3326] us [G1473], then why [do[G2962][G2444] find [G2147] us [G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588]se bad [things] [G2556][G3778]? And [G2532] where [G4226] are all [G3956] the [G3588] his wonders [G2297][G1473], as many as [G3745] described [G1334] to us [G1473] the [G3588] our fathers [G3962][G1473], saying [G3004], Is it not [G3780] from out of [G1537] Egypt led us [G1473] Boss '[G2962]? And [G2532] now [G3568] he thrust us away [G1473], and [G2532] delivered us over [G3860][G1473] into [G1722] the hand [G5495] of Midian.
14: And [G2532] looked [G1914] towards [G4314] him [G1473] the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' [of the] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473], Go [G4198] in [G1722] the [G3588] your strength [G2479][G1473] this [G3778]! and [G2532] you will deliver [G4982] the [G3588] Israel. Look [G2400], I send [G1821] you [G1473].
15: And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473] Gideon], [Be it [G1722] to me [G1473], O my Boss '[G2962][G1473], by [G1722] what [means [G5100] will I deliver [G4982] the [G3588] Israel? look [G2400], the [G3588] my thousand [G5505][G1473] [is] humbler [G5011] in [G1722] Manasseh, and [G2532] I [G1473] am lesser [G3397] in [G1722] house [G3624] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473].
16: And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473] Boss '[G2962] that [G3754], I will be with [G3326] you [G1473], and [G2532] you will strike [G3960] the [G3588] Midian as [G5616] man one [G1520].
17: And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473] Gideon], And [G2532] if [G1487] I found [G2147] favor [G5484] in [G1722] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473], then [G2532] you will give [G4160] to me [G1473] a sign [G4592] that [G3754] you [G1473] spoke [G2980] with [G3326] me [G1473].
18: In no way should [G3361][G1211] you separate [G5563] from here [G1782] until [G2193] the [G3588] coming [G2064] my [G1473] to [G4314] you [G1473], and [G2532] I will bring [G5342] the [G3588] my sacrifice [G2378][G1473], and [G2532] I will sacrifice [G2380] before [G1799] you [G1473]. And [G2532] he said [G2036], I [G1473] am settled [G2521] until [G2193] the [G3588] you return [G1994][G1473].
19: And [G2532] Gideon entered [G1525] and [G2532] prepared [G4160] a kid [G2056] of goats , and [G2532] an ephah flour of unleavened , and [G2532] the [G3588] meats [G2907] he put [G5087] upon [G1909] the [G3588] bin , and [G2532] the [G3588] broth he poured into [G1519] an earthen pot , and [G2532] he brought [it [G1627] to [G4314] him [G1473] under [G5259] the [G3588] oak , and [G2532] did obeisance [G4352].
20: And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473] the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' [of the] Boss '[G2962], Take [G2983] the [G3588] meats [G2907] and [G2532] the [G3588] unleavened [breads , and [G2532] put [them [G5087] on [G4314] the [G3588] that rock [G4073][G1565], and [G2532] the [G3588] broth pour out [G1632]! And [G2532] he did [G4160] so [G3779].
21: And [G2532] stretched out [G1614] the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' [of the] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] tip of the [G3588] rod [G4464] the [G3588] in [G1722] the [G3588] his hand [G5495][G1473], and [G2532] touched of the [G3588] meats [G2907], and [G2532] of the [G3588] unleavened [breads ; and [G2532] was lit fire [G4442] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] rock [G4073], and [G2532] it devoured [G2719] the [G3588] meats [G2907] and [G2532] the [G3588] unleavened [breads . And [G2532] the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' of Boss '[G2962] departed from his eyes [G3788][G1473].
22: And [G2532] Gideon knew [G1492] that [G3754] word-conveyer (messenger) ' [of the] Boss '[G2962] it is . And [G2532] Gideon said [G2036], Alas , O my Boss '[G2962][G1473], O Boss '[G2962], for [G3754] I looked [at] [G1492] the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' of Boss '[G2962] face [G4383] to [G4314] face [G4383].
23: And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] Boss '[G2962], Peace [G1515] to you [G1473], do not [G3361] fear [G5399], in no way will you die .
24: And [G2532] built [G3618] there [G1563] Gideon] an altar [G2379] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962]. And [G2532] he called [G2564] it [G1473], Peace of Boss '[G2962][G1515], until [G2193] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778]. It [is] still [G2089][G1473] being with [G1722] Ephratah father [G3962] of the [G3588] Ezri.
25: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] that night [G3571][G1565], that [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] Boss '[G2962], Take [G2983] the [G3588] calf [G3448] the [G3588] well fed [G4618] the [G3588] of father [G3962] of you [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] calf [G3448] second [G1208] of seven years [old ! And [G2532] you will demolish [G2507] the [G3588] altar [G2379] of the [G3588] Baal which [G3739] is of the [G3588] father [G3962] of you [G1473]; and [G2532] the [G3588] sacred grove the [G3588] by [G1909] it [G1473] you will cut down [G1581].
26: And [G2532] you will build [G3618] an altar [G2379] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473], to the [G3588] [one] appearing [G3708] to you [G1473] upon [G1909] the [G3588] top the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] of Maoz of this [G3778] in [G1722] the [G3588] battle array . And [G2532] you will take [G2983] with [G4862] the [G3588] calf [G3448] the [G3588] second [G1208], and [G2532] you will offer whole burnt-offerings [G3646] in [G1722] the [G3588] trees [G3586] of the [G3588] sacred grove which [G3739] you cut down [G1581].
27: And [G2532] Gideon took [G2983] ten [G1176] men from the [G3588] his manservants [G1401][G1473], and [G2532] he did [G4160] as [G2505] spoke [G2980] to [G4314] him [G1473] Boss '[G2962]. And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] that [G5613] he feared [G5399] the [G3588] household [G3624] of the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] men of the [G3588] city [G4172], the [G3588] [so as] to not act [G3361][G4160] by day [G2250], and [G2532] he acted [it [G4160] [by] night [G3571].
28: And [G2532] rose early [G3719] the [G3588] men of the [G3588] city [G4172] in the morning [G4404]; and [G2532] look [G2400], was razed [G2679] the [G3588] altar [G2379] of the [G3588] Baal], and [G2532] the [G3588] sacred grove the [G3588] by [G1909] it [G1473] was cut down [G1581]; and [G2532] the [G3588] calf [G3448] the [G3588] well fed [G4618] was offered for [G1519] a whole burnt-offering [G3646] upon [G1909] the [G3588] altar [G2379] the [G3588] having been built [G3618].
29: And [G2532] said [G2036] [each] man to [G4314] the [G3588] neighbor [G4139] of him [G1473], Who [G5100] did [G4160] the [G3588] this thing [G4229][G3778]? And [G2532] they investigated and [G2532] inquired [G1567]. And [G2532] they said [G2036], Gideon son [G5207] of Joash did [G4160] the [G3588] this thing [G4229][G3778].
30: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] men of the [G3588] city [G4172] to [G4314] Joash, Lead out [G1806] the [G3588] son [G5207] of you [G1473] and [G2532] let him die ! for [G3754] he razed [G2679] the [G3588] altar [G2379] of the [G3588] Baal, and [G2532] because [G3754] he cut down [G1581] the [G3588] sacred grove the [G3588] by [G1909] it [G1473].
31: And [G2532] Joash said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] men the [G3588] rising [G1881] against [G1909] him [G1473], Do you [G3361][G1473] now [G3568] adjudicate for [G4012] the [G3588] Baal? or [G2228] will you [G1473] deliver [G4982] him [G1473]? Who [G3739] ever pleaded to him [G1473] let die in [G2193] morning [G4404]. If [G1487] God '[G2316] he is [G1473], he will avenge [G1556] for himself [G1438], for [G3754] he razed [G2679] the [G3588] his altar [G2379][G1473].
32: And [G2532] he called [G2564] him [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565], Jerubbaal, saying [G3004], court of justice of the [G3588] Baal, for [G3754] he razed [G2679] the [G3588] his altar [G2379][G1473].
33: And [G2532] all [G3956] Midian and [G2532] Amalek and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of east came together [G4863] at [G1909] the [G3588] same [place] [G1473], and [G2532] they passed over [G1224] and [G2532] camped in [G1722] the [G3588] valley of Jezreel.
34: And [G2532] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] of God '[G2316] empowered [G1743] the [G3588] Gideon, and [G2532] he trumped [G4537] with [G1722] horn ; and [G2532] he called for aid to Abiezer after [G3694] him [G1473].
35: And [G2532] word-conveyers (messengers) ' he sent [G1821] to [G1722] all [G3956] Manasseh, and [G2532] he called also [G2532] himself [G1473] [others] after [G3694] him [G1473]. And [G2532] word-conveyers (messengers) ' he sent out [G1821] in [G1722] Asher, and [G2532] in [G1722] Zebulun, and [G2532] in [G1722] Naphtali. And [G2532] they went up for [G1519] meeting him [G1473].
36: And [G2532] Gideon said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] God '[G2316], If [G1487] you deliver [G4982] by [G1722] my hand [G5495][G1473] the [G3588] Israel], as [G2531] you spoke [G2980],
37: look [G2400], I [G1473] fasten the [G3588] fleece of the [G3588] wool [pieces [G2053] in [G1722] the [G3588] threshing-floor . And [G2532] if [G1437] dew comes [G1096] upon [G1909] the [G3588] fleece only [G3440], and [G2532] upon [G1909] all [G3956] the [G3588] land '[G1093] [be] dryness , then [G2532] I will know [G1097] that [G3754] you will deliver [G4982] by [G1722] my hand [G5495][G1473] the [G3588] Israel] in which [G3739] manner [G5158] you spoke [G2980].
38: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] thus [G3779]. And [G2532] Gideon rose early [G3719] on the [G3588] next day [G1887], and [G2532] he squeezed out the [G3588] fleece , and [G2532] dripped dew from [G1537] the [G3588] fleece -- a full [G4134] pan of water [G5204].
39: And [G2532] Gideon said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] God '[G2316], Let not [G3361] be provoked to anger [G3710] the [G3588] your rage [G2372][G1473] against [G1722] me [G1473]! for [G2532] I will speak [G2980] still [G2089] once [more , and [G2532] I will test [G3985] still [G2089] once [more by [G1722] the [G3588] fleece . And [G2532] let there become [G1096] yet [G2089] dryness upon [G1909] the [G3588] fleece only [G3440], and upon [G1909][G1161] all [G3956] the [G3588] land '[G1093] let there become [G1096] dew !
40: And [G2532] God did [G4160] the [G3588][G2316] so [G3779] in [G1722] the [G3588] that night [G3571][G1565]. And [G2532] there was [G1096] dryness upon [G1909] the [G3588] fleece only [G3440], and upon [G1909][G1161] all [G3956] the [G3588] land '[G1093] became [G1096] dew .
