1
Then Festus [G3767], having set foot [G1910] in the [G3588] jurisdiction [G1885], after [G3326] three [G5140] days [G2250] went up unto [G1519] Jerusalem from Caesarea.
2
revealed [G1718] And [G1161] to him [G1473] the [G3588] chief priest and [G2532] for the [G3588]emost [men [G4413] of the [G3588] Jews [the things] against [G2596] the [G3588] Paul, and [G2532] they appealed to [G3870] him [G1473],
3
asking a favor [G5484] against [G2596] him [G1473], that [G3704] he should fetch [G3343] him [G1473] unto [G1519] Jerusalem, an ambush [G1747] [while] making [G4160] to do away with him [G1473] along [G2596] the [G3588] way [G3598].
4
Then the [G3588][G3303][G3767] Festus responded for Paul to be kept [G5083] the [G3588] in [G1722] Caesarea, but he himself [G1438][G1161] was about [G3195][G1722] to quickly [G5034] go forth [G1607].
5
the [ones] [G3588] then [G3767] mighty [G1415] among [G1722] you [G1473], says he [G5346], having gone down too [G4782], if anything [G1536] is out of place in [G1722] the [G3588] this man [G3778], let them accuse [G2723] him [G1473].
6
And having spent time [G1304][G1161] among [G1722] them [G1473] days [G2250] more [G4183] than [G2228] ten [G1176], having gone down [G2597] unto [G1519] Caesarea, the [G3588] next day [G1887] having sat down [G2523] upon [G1909] the [G3588] rostrum , he bid [G2753] the [G3588] Paul to be conveyed ' [in].
7
being come [G3854] And [G1161] he [G1473], there stood around [G4026] the [G3588] from Jerusalem having come down [G2597] Jews], with many [G4183] and [G2532] grievous accusations bringing [G5342] against [G2596] the [G3588] Paul, which [G3739] they were not [G3756] able [G2480] to exhibit ,
8
[while] of his pleading, [saying [G1473] that [G3754], Neither [G3777] against [G1519] the [G3588] law [G3551] of the [G3588] Jews, nor [G3777] against [G1519] the [G3588] temple [G2413], nor [G3777] against [G1519] Caesar [in] anything [G5100] I sinned .
9
the [G3588] And Festus [G1161], with the [G3588] Jews wanting [G2309] favor [G5484] to lay down [G2698], responding [to the [G3588] Paul, said [G2036], Are you willing [G2309] unto [G1519] Jerusalem to go up there [G1563] concerning [G4012] these [things] [G3778] to be judged [G2919] by [G1909] me [G1473]?
10
said [G2036] And [G1161] the [G3588] Paul], Unto [G1909] the [G3588] rostrum of Caesar I am standing [G2476], of which [G3739] it is necessary for me [G1473][G1163] to be judged [G2919]. To Jews I did no [G3762] wrong , as [G5613] also [G2532] you [G1473] well [G2573] realize [G1921].
11
if [G1487] indeed [G3303] For [G1063] I do wrong , and [G2532] worthy of death [G2288] have acted [G4238] in anything [G5100], I do not [G3756] ask pardon [G3868] the [G3588] to die ; but if [G1487][G1161] there is nothing [G3762] of which [G3739] they [G3778] charge [G2723] me [G1473], no one [G3762] me [G1473] can [G1410] to them [G1473] grant [G5483]. To Caesar I call upon [G1941].
12
Then [G5119] the [G3588] Festus conversing together [G4814] with [G3326] the [G3588] council [G4824] responded , To Caesar you have called upon [G1941], unto [G1909] Caesar you will go [G4198].
13
days [G2250] And [G1161] having elapsed [G1230] some [G5100], Agrippa the [G3588] king and [G2532] Bernice arrived [G2658] at [G1519] Caesarea, saluting the [G3588] Festus.
14
And when [G5613][G1161] many [G4183] days [G2250] they spent [G1304] there [G1563], the [G3588] Festus the [G3588] king presented the [things] [G3588] relating to [G2596] the [G3588] Paul, saying [G3004], man a certain [G5100] There is being left [G2641] by [G5259] Felix, a prisoner [G1198];
15
concerning [G4012] whom [G3739] on my being [G1096][G1473] in [G1519] Jerusalem, revealed [G1718] the [G3588] chief priests and [G2532] the [G3588] elders [G4245] of the [G3588] Jews], asking for against [G2596] him [G1473] punishment [G1349].
16
To [G4314] whom [G3739] I answered that [G3754], It not [G3756] is custom [G1485] with Romans to grant [G5483] any [G5100] man for [G1519] destruction , before [G4250] the [practice [G2228] the [G3588] [one] being accused [G2723] face to face [G2596][G4383] may have [G2192] the [G3588] accusers [G2725], [and] a place [G5117][G5037] of defense may receive [G2983] concerning [G4012] the [G3588] indictment [G1462].
17
having come [G4905] Then [G3767] they [G1473] here [G1759], delay not [G3367] making [G4160], in the [G3588] next [day [G1836] having sat down [G2523] at [G1909] the [G3588] rostrum , I bid [G2753] to be conveyed ' [in] the [G3588] man ;
18
concerning [G4012] whom [G3739], standing up [G2476] the [G3588] accusers [G2725], no [G3762] accusation brought [G2018] which [G3739] I suspected [G5282][G1473];
19
matters [G2213] but [G1161] certain [G5100] concerning [G4012] their the [G3588] own [G2398] reverence of God [G1175] they had [G2192] against [G4314] him [G1473], and [G2532] concerning [G4012] a certain [G5100] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) having died [G2348], whom [G3739] Paul maintained [G5335] the [G3588] to be alive [G2198].
20
being perplexed And [G1161] I [G1473] the [G3588] concerning [G4012] this [G3778] inquiry [G2214], said [G3004], will [G1487] he be willing [G1014] to go [G4198] unto [G1519] Jerusalem, and there [G2546] to be judged [G2919] concerning [G4012] these [things] [G3778]?
21
the [G3588] But [G1161] Paul, having called upon [G1941] himself to be kept [G5083] for [G1519] the [G3588] [G3588] inquiry of Augustus [G1233], I bid [G2753] to keep [G5083] him [G1473] until [G2193] of which [time] [G3739] I should send him forth [G3992][G1473] to [G4314] Caesar.
22
And Agrippa [G1161] to [G4314] the [G3588] Festus said [G5346], I wanted [G1014] also [G2532] myself [G1473] the [G3588] man to hear . And the [G3588][G1161] morrow , he says [G5346], you will hear him [G1473].
23
Then in the [G3588][G3767] next day [G1887] having come [G2064] the [G3588] Agrippa and [G2532] the [G3588] Bernice] with [G3326] much [G4183] visible display [G5325], and [G2532] having entered [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] auditorium , with [G4862] both [G5037] the [G3588] commanders [G5506], and [G2532] men , the [G3588] [ones] of [G2596] prominence [G1851] being of the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] Festus having bid [G2753] the [G3588], Paul was conveyed ' [in the [G3588].
24
And [G2532] Festus says [G5346] the [G3588], O king Agrippa, and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] being present with [G4840] us [G1473] men , you view [G2334] this one [G3778] concerning [G4012] whom [G3739] all [G3956] the [G3588] multitude [G4128] of the [G3588] Jews interceded [G1793] with me [G1473] in [G1722] both [G5037] Jerusalem and [G2532] here [G1759], yelling aloud [G1916] must not [G3361][G1163] live [G2198] he [G1473] any longer [G3371].
25
And I [G1473][G1161] having perceived [G2638] nothing [G3367] worthy of death [G2288] he [G1473] to have done [G4238], also [G2532] himself [G1473] and [G1161] this one [G3778] having called upon [G1941] the [G3588] Augustus, I judged [G2919] to send [G3992] him [G1473].
26
Concerning [G4012] whom [G3739] anything safe [G5100] to write [G1125] to [my the [G3588] boss [G2962] I have not [G3756][G2192]. Therefore [G1352] I led [G4254] him [G1473] unto [G1909] you [G1473], and [G2532] especially [G3122] unto [G1909] you [G1473], O king Agrippa, so that [G3704] the [G3588] examination having taken place [G1096], I should have [G2192] something [G5100] to write [G1125].
27
illogical For [G1063] to me [G1473] it seems [G1380] to send forth [G3992] a prisoner [G1198], and not [G3361][G2532] the [G3588] against [G2596] him [G1473] accusations signifying [G4591].
