Numbers Chapter 22 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] departing , the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel camped upon [G1909] descent [G1424] of Moab by [G3844] the [G3588] Jordan near [G2596] Jericho.
2: And [G2532] [was] seeing [G1492] Balak son [G5207] of Zippor] all [G3956] as many [things] as [G3745] Israel did [G4160] to the [G3588] Amorites.
3: And [G2532] Moab feared [G5399] the [G3588] people [G2992] exceedingly [G4970], for [G3754] they were many [G4183]. And [G2532] Moab loathed [G4360] off face [G4383] of the sons [G5207] of Israel.
4: And [G2532] Moab said [G2036] to the [G3588] council of elders [G1087] of Midian, Now [G3568] will lick up the [G3588] this congregation [G4864][G3778] all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] round about [G2945] us [G1473], as [G5616] licks up the [G3588] calf [G3448] the [G3588] green [grass [G5515] from [G1537] the [G3588] plain . And [G2532] Balak son [G5207] of Zippor king of Moab was at [G2596] the [G3588] that time [G2540][G1565].
5: And [G2532] he sent ambassadors to [G4314] Balaam son [G5207] of Beor, to Pethor, which [G3739] is upon [G1909] the [G3588] river [G4215] of land '[G1093] of sons [G5207] of his people [G2992][G1473], to call [G2564] him [G1473], saying [G3004], look [G2400], a people [G2992] have come forth [G1831] from out of [G1537] Egypt. And [G2532] look [G2400], it covers up [G2619] the [G3588] appearance [G3799] of the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] this [people [G3778] lie in wait next to [G2192] me [G1473].
6: And [G2532] now [G3568] come [G1204], curse for me [G1473] the [G3588] this people [G2992][G3778]! for [G3754] stronger than me [G2478][G1473] [it] is . If [G1437] we should be able [G1410] to strike [G3960] at [G1537] them [G1473], then [G2532] I will cast [G1544] them [G1473] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] land '[G1093]. For [G3754] I know [G1492] that [G3754] whom [G3739] ever you should bless [G2127][G1473], they are blessed [G2127]; and [G2532] whom [G3739] ever you should curse [G2672][G1473], they are cursed [G2672].
7: And [G2532] went [G4198] the [G3588] council of elders [G1087] of Moab], and [G2532] the [G3588] council of elders [G1087] of Midian, with [G2532] the [G3588] oracles in [G1722] the [G3588]ir hands [G5495][G1473]. And [G2532] they came [G2064] to [G4314] Balaam, and [G2532] they spoke [G2036] to him [G1473] the [G3588] words [G4487] of Balak.
8: And [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] them [G1473], You rest up [G2647] here the [G3588] night [G3571], and [G2532] I will answer you [G1473] things [G4229] which [G3739] ever BOSS should speak [G2980][G2962] to [G4314] me [G1473]! And [G2532] stayed [G2650] the [G3588] rulers of Moab] with [G3844] Balaam.
9: And [G2532] God came [G2064] the [G3588][G2316] to [G4314] Balaam, and [G2532] he said [G2036] to him [G1473], What do [G5100] the [G3588] men these [G3778] [want] with [G3844] you [G1473]?
10: And [G2532] Balaam said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] God '[G2316], Balak son [G5207] of Zippor king of Moab sent them [G1473] to [G4314] me [G1473], saying [G3004],
11: look [G2400], a people [G2992] come forth [G1831] from out of [G1537] Egypt, and [G2532] covered [G2572] the [G3588] appearance [G3799] of the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] now [G3568] come [G1204] curse it for me [G1473][G1473]! if [G1487] it is so I will be able [G1410] to strike [G3960] it [G1473], and [G2532] I will cast it out [G1544][G1473].
12: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] God '[G2316] to [G4314] Balaam, You will not [G3756] go [G4198] with [G3326] them [G1473], nor [G3761] will you curse [G2672] the [G3588] people [G2992]; for [they are [G1063] blessed [G2127].
13: And [G2532] Balaam rising in the morning [G4404], said [G2036] to the [G3588] rulers of Balak, You run to [G4314] the [G3588] your land '[G1093][G1473], does not [G3756] allow me [G1473] Boss '[G2962] to go [G4198] with [G3326] you [G1473].
14: And [G2532] rising , the [G3588] rulers of Moab came [G2064] to [G4314] Balak. And [G2532] they said [G2036], does not [G3756] want [G2309] Balaam] to go [G4198] with [G3326] us [G1473].
15: And [G2532] added [G4369] again [G2089] Balak] to send rulers many [G4183], and [G2532] ones more important [G1784] than these [G3778].
16: And [G2532] they came [G2064] to [G4314] Balaam, and [G2532] they say [G3004] to him [G1473], Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Balak the [son the [G3588] of the [G3588] Zippor, I deem you worthy [G1473], you should not [G3361] be reluctant [G3635] to come [G2064] to [G4314] me [G1473],
17: for highly valued [G1063] I will esteem [G5091] you [G1473], and [G2532] as many [things] [G3745] as you should say [G2036] to me [G1473] I will do [G4160] for you [G1473]. Now [G2532] come [G1204], accurse for me [G1473] the [G3588] this people [G2992][G3778]!
18: And [G2532] Balaam answered and [G2532] said [G2036] to the [G3588] rulers of Balak, If [G1437] will give [G1325] to me [G1473] Balak full [G4134] the [G3588] house [G3624] of him '[G1473] of silver and [G2532] gold [G5553], I will not [G3756] be able [G1410] to violate [G3845] the [G3588] word [G4487] of Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316], to do [G4160] it [G1473] small [G3397] or [G2228] great [G3173].
19: And [G2532] now [G3568] remain behind [G5278] here , even [G2532] you [G1473] the [G3588] this night [G3571][G3778]! and [G2532] I will know [G1097] what [G5100] BOSS will add [G4369][G2962] to speak [G2980] to [G4314] me [G1473].
20: And [G2532] God came [G2064] the [G3588][G2316] to [G4314] Balaam at night [G3571], and [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473], If [G1487] calling [G2564] you [G1473] are at hand [G3918] the [G3588] men these [G3778], rising up you follow them [G1473], but the [G3588] saying [G4487] which [G3739] ever I speak [G2980] to [G4314] you [G1473], this [G3778] you observe [G4160]!
21: And [G2532] Balaam rising in the morning [G4404], saddled the [G3588] his donkey [G3688][G1473], and [G2532] went [G4198] with [G3326] the [G3588] rulers of Moab.
22: And [G2532] was provoked to anger [G3710] in rage [G2372] the [G3588] God '[G2316] that [G3754] he himself went [G4198][G1473]. And [G2532] rose up the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316] in [G1909] the [G3588] way [G3598] to stand in the way as an adversary against him [G1473]. And [G2532] he [G1473] mounted [G1910] upon [G1909] the [G3588] his donkey [G3688][G1473], and [G2532] two [G1417] servants [G3816] of him '[G1473] with [G3326] him [G1473].
23: And [G2532] seeing [G1492] the [G3588] donkey [G3688] the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316] opposing it in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598], and [G2532] the [G3588] broadsword [G4501] being unsheathed [G4685] in [G1722] the [G3588] his hand [G5495][G1473], that [G2532] turned aside [G1578] the [G3588] donkey [G3688] from [G1537] the [G3588] way [G3598], and [G2532] went [G4198] into [G1519] the [G3588] plain . And [G2532] he struck [G3960] the [G3588] donkey [G3688] the [G3588] to straighten [G2116] it [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598].
24: And [G2532] stood [G2476] the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316] in [G1722] the [G3588] furrows of the [G3588] grapevines , a barrier [G5418] here [on this side [G1782] and [G2532] a barrier [G5418] here [on that side [G1782].
25: And [G2532] seeing [G1492] the [G3588] donkey [G3688] the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316], pressed herself [G1438] against [G4314] the [G3588] wall [G5109], and [G2532] it squeezed the [G3588] foot [G4228] of Balaam to [G4314] the [G3588] wall [G5109], and [G2532] he added [G4369] again [G2089] to crack the whip [G3147] on her [G1473].
26: And [G2532] proceeded [G4369] the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316] going forth . And [G2532] he stood in [G1722] place [G5117] a narrow [G4728] for [G1519] which [G3739] no [G3756] there was turning aside [G1578] right [G1188] or [G2228] left .
27: And [G2532] seeing [G1492] the [G3588] donkey [G3688] the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316], sat down [G4776] underneath [G5270] Balaam. And [G2532] Balaam became enraged [G2373], and [G2532] beat [G5180] the [G3588] donkey [G3688] with [G1722] the [G3588] rod [G4464].
28: And [G2532] God opened the [G3588][G2316] the [G3588] mouth [G4750] of the [G3588] donkey [G3688], and [G2532] she says [G3004] the [G3588] to Balaam, What [G5100] did I do [G4160] to you [G1473] that [G3754] you have hit [G3817] me [G1473] this [G3778] third time [G5154]?
29: And [G2532] Balaam said [G2036] to the [G3588] donkey [G3688] that [G3754], You have mocked [G1702] me [G1473], and [G2532] if [G1487] I had [G2192] a sword [G3162] in [G1722] the [G3588] my hand [G5495][G1473], already [G2235] I would have stabbed [G1574] you [G1473].
30: And [G2532] says [G3004] the [G3588] donkey [G3688] the [G3588] to Balaam, [Am] I not [G3756][G1473] the [G3588] your donkey [G3688], upon [G1909] which [G3739] you mounted [G1910] from your youth [G3503][G1473], until [G2193] the [G3588] today's [G4594] day [G2250]? [Have [G3361] to neglect by overlooking [G5237] I acted [G4160] you [G1473] thus [G3779]? And the [G3588][G1161] he said [G2036], No [G3780]!
31: uncovered And [G1161] the [G3588] God '[G2316] the [G3588] eyes [G3788] of Balaam, and [G2532] he sees [G3708] the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' of Boss '[G2962] opposing [him in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598], and [G2532] the [G3588] sword [G3162] being unsheathed [G4685] in [G1722] the [G3588] his hand [G5495][G1473]. And [G2532] bowing [G2955] he did obeisance [G4352] the [G3588] on his face [G4383][G1473].
32: And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316], Why [G1302] do you strike [G3960] the [G3588] your donkey [G3688][G1473] this [G3778] third time [G5154]? Now [G2532] look [G2400], I [G1473] came forth [G1831] to [G1519] distract you [G1473], for [G3754] [was] not [G3756] fair the [G3588] your way [G3598][G1473] before [G1726] me [G1473].
33: And [G2532] seeing [G1492] me [G1473], the [G3588] donkey [G3688] turned aside [G1578] from me [G1473] this third [time] [G5154][G3778]; and [G2532] unless [G1508] she turned aside [G1578] from me [G1473], now [G3568] then [G3767] you [G1473] indeed [G3303] I would have killed , her [G1565] and [G1161] then I would have preserved [G4046].
34: And [G2532] Balaam said [G2036] to the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' of Boss '[G2962], I have sinned , for I did not [G3756][G1063] have knowledge [G1987] that [G3754] you [G1473] opposed me [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598] to [G1519] meet with [G4877] me [G1473]. And [G2532] now [G3568], unless it not [G1508] be sufficient to you [G1473], I will return .
35: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] word-conveyer (messenger) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316] to [G4314] Balaam, You go [G4848] with [G3326] the [G3588] men ! Except [G4133] the [G3588] word [G4487] which [G3739] ever I should say [G2036] to [G4314] you [G1473], this [G3778] you will guard [G5442] to speak [G2980]. And [G2532] Balaam went [G4198] with [G3326] the [G3588] rulers of Balak.
36: And [G2532] Balak hearing that [G3754] Balaam had came [G2240], came forth [G1831] to [G1519] meet [G4877] him [G1473] in [G1519] a city [G4172] of Moab, which [G3739] is upon [G1909] the [G3588] borders [G3725] of Arnon, which [G3739] is of [G1537] parts [G3313] of the [G3588] borders [G3725].
37: And [G2532] Balak said [G2036] to [G4314] Balaam, Did I not [G3780] send to [G4314] you [G1473] to call [G2564] you [G1473]? Why [G1302] have you not [G3756] come [G2064] to [G4314] me [G1473]? Really [G3689], will I not [G3756] be able [G1410] to esteem [G5091] you [G1473]?
38: And [G2532] Balaam said [G2036] to [G4314] Balak, look [G2400], I come [G2240] to [G4314] you [G1473] now [G3568]. Am I able [G1415] to speak [G2980] anything [G5100]? the [G3588] word [G4487] which [G3739] ever God should put [G1685] the [G3588][G2316] into [G1519] the [G3588] mouth [G4750] of me [G1473], this [G3778] I will speak [G2980].
39: And [G2532] Balaam went [G4198] with [G3326] Balak. And [G2532] they came [G2064] to [G1519] Cities [G4172] of Properties [G1886].
40: And [G2532] Balak sacrificed [G2380] sheep [G4263] and [G2532] calves [G3448], and [G2532] sent [to the [G3588] Balaam and [G2532] to the [G3588] rulers , to the [G3588] [ones] with [G3326] him [G1473].
41: And [G2532] it became [G1096] morning [G4404], and [G2532] Balak taking [G3880] the [G3588] Balaam transported him [G1473] unto [G1909] the [G3588] stele of the [G3588] Baal, and [G2532] showed [G1166] to him [G1473] from there [G1564] a certain part [G3313][G5100] of the [G3588] people [G2992].
