1: Then [G5119] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) spoke [G2980] to the [G3588] crowds [G3793] and [G2532] [to the [G3588] his trainees '[G3101][G1473],
2: saying [G3004], Upon [G1909] the [G3588] chair of Moses [G2515] sat down [G2523] the [G3588] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]) and [G2532] the [G3588] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]).
3: All [G3956] then [G3767], as much as [G3745] they should say [G2036] to you [G1473] to give heed [G5083], you give heed [G5083] and [G2532] do [G4160]! But according to [G2596][G1161] the [G3588]ir works [G2041][G1473] do not [G3361] do [G4160]! for they speak [G3004][G1063] and [G2532] do not [G3756] do [G4160].
4: For they bind [G1195][G1063] load [G5413] a heavy and [G2532] ones hard to bear [G1419], and [G2532] place [them [G2007] upon [G1909] the [G3588] shoulders [G5606] of the [G3588] men ; the [G3588] but [G1161] with their finger [G1147][G1473] they do not [G3756] want [G2309] to move [G2795] them [G1473].
5: And all [G3956][G1161] the [G3588]ir works [G2041][G1473] they do [G4160] to [G4314] the [G3588] be a spectacle [G2300] to the [G3588] men . And they widen [G4115][G1161] the [G3588]ir phylacteries [G5440][G1473], and [G2532] magnify [G3170] the [G3588] decorative hems [G2899] of the [G3588]ir cloaks [G2440][G1473];
6: and are fond of [G5368][G5037] the [G3588] first place [G4411] in [G1722] the [G3588] suppers [G1173], and [G2532] the [G3588] first seats [G4410] in [G1722] the [G3588] synagogues [G4864],
7: and [G2532] the [G3588] greetings in [G1722] the [G3588] markets , and [G2532] to be called [G2564] by [G5259] the [G3588] men , Rabbi [G4461] ["Teacher [G1320]" John 1:38], Rabbi [G4461] ["Teacher [G1320]" John 1:38].
8: But you [G1473][G1161] should not [G3361] be called [G2564], Rabbi [G4461] ["Teacher [G1320]" John 1:38]; for one [G1520][G1063] is your [G1473] the [G3588] mentor [G2519], the [G3588] [one] Anointed '[G5547], and all [G3956][G1161] you [G1473] are brothers .

10: Nor [G3366] be called [G2564] mentors [G2519]; for one [G1520][G1063] is your [G1473] the [G3588] mentor [G2519] -- the [G3588] [one] Anointed '[G5547].
11: And the [G3588][G1161] greater [G3173] of you [G1473] will be your [G1473] servant [G1249].
12: And whoever [G3748][G1161] will exalt himself [G5312][G1438], will be humbled [G5013]; and [G2532] whoever [G3748] will humble [G5013] himself [G1438], will be exalted [G5312].
13: Woe [G3759] to you [G1473] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]) and [G2532] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]), stage-actors [G5273], for [G3754] you devour [G2719] the [G3588] houses [G3614] of the [G3588] widows [G5503], and [G2532] as an excuse [G4392] long [G3117] praying [G4336]; on account of [G1223] this [G3778] you will receive [G2983] more extra [G4053] judgment [G2917].
14: Woe [G3759] to you [G1473] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]) and [G2532] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]), stage-actors [G5273], for [G3754] you lock [G2808] the [G3588] government ' of the [G3588] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772] before [G1715] the [G3588] men ; for you [G1473][G1063] do not [G3756] enter in [G1525], nor [G3761] the [G3588] [ones] entering [G1525] do you allow to enter [G1525].
15: Woe [G3759] to you [G1473] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]) and [G2532] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]), stage-actors [G5273], for [G3754] you lead about [G4013] the [G3588] sea [G2281] and [G2532] the [G3588] dry land [G3584], to make [G4160] one [G1520] foreignor (convert) '[G4339], and [G2532] whenever [G3752] he becomes [so [G1096], you make [G4160] him [G1473] a son [G5207] of Gehenna [G1067] -- more double [G1362] than yourselves [G1473].
16: Woe [G3759] to you [G1473] guides [G3595] blind [G5185], the [G3588] [ones] saying [G3004], Who [G3739] ever should swear by an oath [G3660] on [G1722] the [G3588] temple [G3485], it is nothing [G3762]; but who [G3739][G1161] ever should swear by an oath [G3660] on [G1722] the [G3588] gold [G5557] of the [G3588] temple [G3485], he owes [G3784].
17: Morons [G3474] and [G2532] blind [G5185]; for what [G5100][G1063] is greater [G3173], the [G3588] gold [G5557], or [G2228] the [G3588] temple [G3485] the [G3588] sanctifying the [G3588] gold [G5557]?
18: And [saying [G2532], Who [G3739] ever [G1437] should swear by an oath [G3660] on [G1722] the [G3588] altar [G2379], it is nothing [G3762]; but who [G3739][G1161] ever should swear by an oath [G3660] by [G1722] the [G3588] gift [offering [G1435] the [G3588] upon [G1883] it [G1473], he owes [G3784].
19: Morons [G3474] and [G2532] blind [G5185]; for which [is [G5100][G1063] greater [G3173], the [G3588] gift [offering [G1435], or [G2228] the [G3588] altar [G2379] the [G3588] sanctifying the [G3588] gift [offering [G1435]?
20: the [one] [G3588] then [G3767] swearing an oath [G3660] by [G1722] the [G3588] altar [G2379], swears an oath [G3660] by [G1722] it [G1473], and [G2532] by [G1722] all [G3956] the [things] [G3588] upon [G1883] it [G1473].
21: And [G2532] the [G3588] [one] swearing an oath [G3660] by [G1722] the [G3588] temple [G3485], swears an oath [G3660] by [G1722] it [G1473], and [G2532] by [G1722] the [G3588] [one] dwelling in [G2730] it [G1473].
22: And [G2532] the [G3588] [one] swearing an oath [G3660] by [G1722] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], swears an oath [G3660] by [G1722] the [G3588] throne [G2362] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] by [G1722] the [G3588] [one] sitting down [G2521] upon [G1883] it [G1473].
23: Woe [G3759] to you [G1473] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]) and [G2532] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]), stage-actors [G5273]; for [G3754] you tithe the [G3588] mint [G2238], and [G2532] the [G3588] dill , and [G2532] the [G3588] cummin [G2951], and [G2532] leave the [G3588] heavier matters of the [G3588] law [G3551] -- the [G3588] judgment [G2920], and [G2532] the [G3588] compassion [G1656], and [G2532] the [G3588] trust '[G4102] -- these [G3778] necessary [G1163] to do [G4160], and these [G2548] are not [G3361] allowed .
24: guides [G3595] Blind [G5185], the [G3588] [ones] straining [G1368] the [G3588] gnat [G2971], the [G3588] but [G1161] a camel [G2574] swallowing down [G2666].
25: Woe [G3759] to you [G1473] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]) and [G2532] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]), stage-actors [G5273]; for [G3754] you cleanse [G2511] the [G3588] outside [G1855] of the [G3588] cup [G4221] and [G2532] the [G3588] dish [G3953], but inside [G2081][G1161] is full [G1073] of [G1537] seizure and [G2532] intemperance .
26: Blind Pharisee [G5330] ("Separate One" [H6504]) [G5185], cleanse [G2511] first [G4412] the [thing] [G3588] within [G1787] the [G3588] cup [G4221] and [G2532] the [G3588] dish [G3953], that [G2443] should also become [G1096][G2532] the [G3588]ir outside [G1623][G1473] clean [G2513].
27: Woe [G3759] to you [G1473] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]) and [G2532] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]), stage-actors [G5273]; for [G3754] you are like [G3945] tombs [G5028] being whitewashed [G2867], ones which [G3748] outside [G1855] indeed [G3303] appear [G5316] beautiful [G5611], but inside [G2081][G1161] are full [G1073] of bones [G3747] of dead [G3498] and [G2532] of all [G3956] uncleanness .
28: So [G3779] also [G2532] you [G1473] from outside [G1855] indeed [G3303] appear [G5316] the [G3588] to men as righteous [G1342], but inside [G2081][G1161] you are full [G3324] of stage-acting [G5272] and [G2532] of lawlessness .
29: Woe [G3759] to you [G1473] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]) and [G2532] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]), stage-actors [G5273]; for [G3754] you build [G3618] the [G3588] tombs [G5028] of the [G3588] prophets [G4396], and [G2532] adorn [G2885] the [G3588] memorials [G3419] of the [G3588] righteous ones [G1342],
30: and [G2532] you say [G3004], If [G1487] we were in [G1722] the [G3588] days [G2250] of the [G3588] fathers [G3962] of us [G1473], would not [be [G3756] we their partners [G2844][G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] blood of the [G3588] prophets [G4396].
31: So that [G5620] you witness [G3140] against yourselves [G1438], that [G3754] you are sons [G5207] of the [G3588] [ones] murdering [G5407] the [G3588] prophets [G4396].
32: And [G2532] you [G1473], you fill up [G4137] the [G3588] measure [G3358] of the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473].
33: Serpents [G3789], offspring [G1081] of vipers [G2191], how [G4459] should you flee [G5343] from the [G3588] judgment [G2920] of the [G3588] Gehenna [G1067]?
34: On account of [G1223] this [G3778], look [G2400], I [G1473] send to [G4314] you [G1473] prophets [G4396] and [G2532] wise men [G4680] and [G2532] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]); and [G2532] of [G1537] them [G1473] you will kill and [G2532] crucify [G4717], and [G2532] of [G1537] them [G1473] you will whip [G3146] in [G1722] the [G3588] your synagogues [G4864][G1473], and [G2532] pursue them [G1377] from city [G4172] to [G1519] city [G4172];
35: so that [G3704] should come [G2064] upon [G1909] you [G1473] all [G3956] blood righteous [G1342] having been poured out [G1632] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093], from the [G3588] blood of Abel the [G3588] righteous [G1342], unto [G2193] the [G3588] blood of Zachariah son [G5207] of Barachiah, whom [G3739] you murdered [G5407] between [G3342] the [G3588] temple [G3485] and [G2532] the [G3588] altar [G2379].
36: Amen I say [G3004] to you [G1473] that [G3754] will come [G2240] all [G3956] these [things] [G3778] upon [G1909] the [G3588] this generation [G1074][G3778].
37: Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the [G3588] [one] killing the [G3588] prophets [G4396], and [G2532] stoning [G3036] the [G3588] [ones] sent to [G4314] her [G1473]. How often [G4212] I wanted [G2309] to assemble [G1996] the [G3588] children [G5043] of you [G1473] in which [G3739] manner [G5158] assembles [G1996] a hen [G3733] the [G3588] her nestlings [G3556][G1438] under [G5259] the [G3588] wings [G4420], and [G2532] you wanted not [G3756][G2309].
38: look [G2400], is left to you [G1473] the [G3588] your house [G3624][G1473] desolate [G2048].
39: For I say [G3004][G1063] to you [G1473], In no way should you look [at] me [G1473][G1492] from now , until [G2193] whenever you should say [G2036], Being blessed [G2127] [is] the [G3588] [one] coming [G2064] in [G1722] name [G3686] [of the] Boss '[G2962].
