Joshua Chapter 17 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] were [G1096] the [G3588] borders [G3725] of tribe [G5443] of Manasseh] (for [G3754] this one [is [G3778] first-born [G4416] of the [G3588] Joseph) [to the [G3588] Machir first-born [G4416] of Manasseh, father [G3962] of Gilead. For he [G1473][G1063] [was] a man of war in [G1722] the [G3588] Gilead and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] Bashan [area].
2: And [G2532] there became [G1096] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Manasseh, to the [G3588] [ones] remaining [G3062] according to [G2596] their peoples [G1218][G1473] -- to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Abiezer, and [G2532] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Helek, and [G2532] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Asriel, and [G2532] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Shechem, and [G2532] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Hepher, and [G2532] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Shemida; these [G3778] [are] sons [G5207] of Manasseh son [G5207] of Joseph, the [G3588] males according to [G2596] their peoples [G1218][G1473].
3: And [G2532] [to the [G3588] Zelophehad, son [G5207] of Hepher, son [G5207] of Gilead, son [G5207] of Machir, son [G5207] of Manasseh, there were no [G3756] sons to him [G1473][G5207], but daughters [G2364]. And [G2532] these [are [G3778] the [G3588] names [G3686] of the [G3588] daughters [G2364] of Zelophehad -- Mahlah, and [G2532] Noah, and [G2532] Hoglah, and [G2532] Milcha, and [G2532] Tirzah.
4: And [G2532] they stood [G2476] before [G1726] Eleazar the [G3588] priest [G2409], and [G2532] before [G1726] Joshua son [G5207] of Nun, and [G2532] before [G1726] the [G3588] rulers , saying [G3004], the [G3588] God '[G2316] gave charge [G1781] through [G1223] hand [G5495] of Moses to give [G1325] to us [G1473] an inheritance [G2817] in [G1722] midst [G3319] of the [G3588] our brothers [G1473]. And [G2532] there was given [G1325] to them [G1473] an inheritance [G2817] by [G1223] order of Boss '[G2962], a lot [G2819] in [G1722] midst [G3319] of the [G3588]ir brothers [G1473] of the [G3588]ir father [G3962][G1473].
5: And [G2532] fell [G4098] the [G3588] a piece of measured out land to Manasseh -- plain of Labed of [G1537] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of Gilead and [G2532] the [G3588] Bashan, which [G3739] is on the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] Jordan;
6: for [G3754] daughters [G2364] of sons [G5207] of Manasseh inherited [G2816] a lot [G2819] in [G1722] midst [G3319] of the [G3588]ir brothers [G1473]. And the [G3588][G1161] land '[G1093] of Gilead became [G1096] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Manasseh, to the [G3588] [ones] left behind [G2641].
7: And [G2532] were [G1096] borders [G3725] of Manasseh] from Asher to Michmethah, which [G3739] is by [G2596] face [G4383] of Shechem; and [G2532] it goes [G4198] to [G1909] the [G3588] borders [G3725] unto [G1909] Jamin and [G2532] to [G1519] Jassib, and [G2532] to [G1909] spring [G4077] Naphthoth,
8: upon [G1909] the [G3588] borders [G3725] of Manasseh [belonging] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Ephraim.
9: And [G2532] will go down [G2597] the [G3588] borders [G3725] to [G1909] ravine [G5327] to the [G1909] south [G3047] by [G2596] ravine [G5327] of Jariel -- terebinth of the [G3588] Ephraim, in the midst [of the] city [G4172] of Manasseh. And [G2532] borders [G3725] of Manasseh towards [G1909] north [G1005] [were] to [G1519] the [G3588] rushing stream [G5493], and [G2532] will be the [G3588] its outer reaches [G1327][G1473] sea [G2281].
10: From south [G3047] [it was to the [G3588] Ephraim, and [G2532] towards [G1909] north [G1005] to Manasseh; and [G2532] will be the [G3588] sea [G2281] their borders [G3725][G1473], and [G2532] at [G1909] Asher they join together towards [G1909] north [G1005], and [G2532] [with] the [G3588] Issachar from east .
11: And [G2532] Manasseh will be with [G1722] Issachar; and [G2532] in [G1722] Asher Beth-shean and [G2532] the [G3588]ir towns [G2968][G1473], and [G2532] Ibleam and [G2532] the [G3588] her daughter [towns [G2364][G1473], and [G2532] unto [G1909] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in Dor and [G2532] the [G3588] her towns [G2968][G1473]; and [G2532] unto [G1909] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in En-dor and [G2532] the [G3588] her towns [G2968][G1473], and [G2532] unto [G1909] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] Taanach and [G2532] the [G3588] her towns [G2968][G1473]; and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] Megiddo and [G2532] the [G3588] her towns [G2968][G1473]; and [G2532] the [G3588] third [part [G5154] of the [G3588] Napheta and [G2532] the [G3588] her towns [G2968][G1473].
12: And [G2532] were not [G3756] able [G1410] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Manasseh] to utterly destroy [G1842] the [G3588]se cities [G4172][G3778]. And [G2532] began the [G3588] Canaanite] to dwell [G2730] in [G1722] the [G3588] this land '[G1093][G3778].
13: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] when [G1893] grew strong [G2729] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] that [G2532] they made [G4160] the [G3588] Canaanites subjects [G5255]; and [G2532] [as] to utterly destroy [G1842], they did not utterly destroy [G3756][G1842] them [G1473].
14: contradicted And [G1161] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Joseph the [G3588] Joshua, saying [G3004], Why [G1302] do you allot [G2816] us [G1473] lot [G2819] one [G1520], and [G2532] piece of measured out land one [G1520], and I [G1473][G1161] people [G2992] [am] a populous [G4183], and [G2532] blessed [G2127] me [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316]?
15: And [G2532] said [G2036] to them [G1473] Joshua], If [G1487] people [G2992] a populous [G4183] are you [G1473], go up into [G1519] for the [G3588]est , and [G2532] clear it out [G1571] for yourself [G4572] there [G1563] in [G1722] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of the [G3588] Perizzites and [G2532] of the [G3588] Rephaim, if [G1487] restricts [G4729] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] the [G3588] Ephraim].
16: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Joseph], does not [G3756] please us [G1473] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] the [G3588] Ephraim], for [G2532] horses [G2462] choice and [G2532] an iron [weapon [G4604] [is] to all [G3956] the [G3588] Canaanite the [G3588] dwelling [G2730] in [G1722] the [G3588] land '[G1093] Emek in [G1722] Beth-shean, and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] her towns [G2968][G1473], and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] valley of Jezreel.
17: And [G2532] Joshua said [G2036] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Joseph, the [G3588] to Ephraim and [G2532] the [G3588] to Manasseh, saying [G3004], If [G1487] people [G2992] you are many [G4183], and [G2532] strength [G2479] great [G3173] have [G2192], there will not be [G3756] to you [G1473] lot [G2819] [only] one [G1520].
18: For the [G3588][G1063] forest will be to you [G1473], for [G3754] a forest it is , and [G2532] you will clear it out [G1473]. And [G2532] will be to you [G1473] the [G3588] his departure [G1473] whenever [G3752] you should utterly destroy [G1842] the [G3588] Canaanite, for [G3754] cavalry [G2462] a choice there is to him [G1473], for [G3754] he is strong [G2478]; for you [G1473][G1063] excel in strength over him [G1473].
