1 Samuel Chapter 28 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] those days [G2250][G1565] that [G2532] were gathered together [G4867] the [G3588] Philistines in [G1722] the [G3588]ir camps [G3925][G1473] the [G3588] to come forth [G1831] for [G1519] war [G4171] against [G1909] the [G3588] Israel. And [G2532] Achish said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] David, In knowing [G1097] you will know [G1097] that [G3754] with [G3326] me [G1473] you will go forth [G1831] unto [G1519] the [G3588] war [G4171], you [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] your men [G1473].
2: And [G2532] David said [G2036] to [G4314] Achish, Thus [G3778] now [G3568] you will know [G1097] what [G3739] will do [G4160] the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473]. And [G2532] Achish said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] David, Thus [G3779] as chief of the body-guard I will appoint [G5087] you [G1473] [for] all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250].
3: And [G2532] Samuel died , and [G2532] lamented [G2875] him [G1473] all [G3956] Israel], and [G2532] they entombed [G2290] him [G1473] in [G1722] Ramah, in [G1722] the [G3588] his city [G4172][G1473]. And [G2532] Saul removed [G4014] the [G3588] [ones] who deliver oracles , and [G2532] the [G3588] diviners [G1109] from the [G3588] land '[G1093].
4: And [G2532] gather together [G4867] the [G3588] Philistines , and [G2532] come [G2064], and [G2532] camp in [G1519] Shunem. And [G2532] Saul gathers together [G4867] every [G3956] man of Israel, and [G2532] they camp in [G1519] Gilboa.
5: And [G2532] Saul looked [at] [G1492] the [G3588] camp [G3925] of the [G3588] Philistines , and [G2532] he was fearful [G5399], and [G2532] it startled [G1839] the [G3588] his heart [G2588][G1473] exceedingly [G4970].
6: And [G2532] Saul asked [G1905] through [G1223] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962]. And [G2532] did not [G3756] answer to him [G1473] Boss '[G2962] in [G1722] the [G3588] dreams [G1798], nor [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] manifestations [G1212], nor [G2532] among [G1722] the [G3588] prophets [G4396].
7: And [G2532] Saul said [G2036] [to the [G3588] his servants [G3816][G1473], Seek [G2212] for me [G1473] a woman [G1135] who delivers oracles ! and [G2532] I will go [G4198] to [G4314] her [G1473], and [G2532] I will inquire [G1567] by [G1722] her [G1473]. And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] his servants [G3816][G1473] to [G4314] him [G1473], look [G2400], a woman [G1135] who delivers oracles [is] in [G1722] En-dor.
8: And [G2532] Saul changed [appearance , and [G2532] put around [G4016] garments [G2440] other [G2087], and [G2532] he himself goes [G4198][G1473] and [G2532] two [G1417] men with [G3326] him [G1473]. And [G2532] they come [G2064] to [G4314] the [G3588] woman [G1135] by night [G3571], and [G2532] he said [G2036] to her [G1473], Use oracles [G3132] indeed [G1211] for me [G1473] by [G1722] the [G3588] delivering an oracle , and [G2532] lead up to me [G1473] whom [G3739] ever I should tell [G2036] you [G1473]!
9: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] woman [G1135] to him [G1473], look [G2400], you [G1473] know [G1492] as much as [G3745] Saul did [G4160], as [G5613] he utterly destroyed [G1842] the [G3588] [ones] delivering up oracles , and [G2532] the [G3588] diviners [G1109] from the [G3588] land '[G1093]. And [G2532] why [G2444] do you [G1473] ensnare [G3802] the [G3588] life [G5590] of me [G1473] to put it to death [G2289][G1473]?
10: And [G2532] swore by an oath [G3660] to her [G1473] Saul] according to [G2596] the [G3588] God '[G2316], saying [G3004], As lives [G2198] Boss '[G2962], will [G1487] meet up with you [G1473] injustice in [G1722] the [G3588] this matter? [No! [G3056][G3778]
11: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] woman [G1135] the [G3588] to Saul, Whom [G5100] should I lead up to you [G1473]? And [G2532] he said [G2036], the [G3588] Lead up Samuel to me [G1473]!
12: And [G2532] looked [at] [G1492] the [G3588] woman [G1135] the [G3588] Samuel, and [G2532] she yelled voice [G5456] with a great [G3173]. And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] woman [G1135] to [G4314] Saul, Why did [G2444] you mislead [G3884] me [G1473], even [G2532] you [G1473] are Saul?
13: And [G2532] said [G2036] to her [G1473] the [G3588] king , Do not [G3361] fear [G5399]! Whom [G5100] do you see [G3708]? And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] woman [G1135] to [G4314] Saul, I see magistrates [G2316][G3708] going up from out of [G1537] the [G3588] land '[G1093].
14: And [G2532] he said [G2036] to her [G1473], What did [G5100] you perceive [G1097]? And [G2532] she said [G2036] to him [G1473], An aged man [G1088] going up being cloaked in a double-garment . And [G2532] Saul knew [G1097] that [G3754] this [G3778] [was] Samuel. And [G2532] he bowed [G2955] upon [G1909] face [G4383] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] he did obeisance to [G4352] him [G1473].
15: And [G2532] Samuel said [G2036], Why did [G2444] you give trouble [G3926] to me [G1473] [to cause] me to go up [G1473]? And [G2532] Saul said [G2036], I am afflicted [G2346] very much [G4970], and [G2532] the [G3588] Philistines wage war [G4170] with [G1722] me [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] God '[G2316] has left from me [G1473], and [G2532] he does not [G3756] heed [G1873] me [G1473] any longer [G2089], nor [G3777] by [G1722] hand [G5495] of the [G3588] prophets [G4396], nor [G3777] by [G1722] the [G3588] dreams [G1798]. And [G2532] now [G3568] I call [G2564] you [G1473] the [G3588] to make known [G1107] to me [G1473] what [G5100] I should do [G4160].
16: And [G2532] Samuel said [G2036], Why [G2444] do you ask [G1905] me [G1473], and [G2532] Boss '[G2962] has left from you [G1473], and [G2532] has taken place [G1096] with [G3326] the [G3588] your neighbor [G4139][G1473]?
17: And [G2532] BOSS has done [G4160][G2962] to you [G1473] as [G2531] he said [G2980] by [G1722] my hand [G5495][G1473]. And [G2532] BOSS will tear [G1284][G2962] the [G3588] government '[G1473] from out of [G1537] your hand [G5495][G1473], and [G2532] will give [G1325] it [G1473] to the [G3588] your neighbor [G4139][G1473], [to the [G3588] David.
18: Because [G1360] you hearkened not to [G3756] the [G3588] voice [G5456] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] you did not [G3756] fill [G4130] rage [G2372] of anger [G3709] of him '[G1473] against [G1722] the [G3588] Amalek; on account of [G1223] the [G3588] this thing [G4487][G3778] BOSS did [G4160][G2962] to you [G1473] thus [G3779] [in the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778].
19: And [G2532] BOSS will deliver up [G3860][G2962] the [G3588] Israel with [G3326] you [G1473] into [G1519] hands [G5495] of Philistines , and [G2532] tomorrow you [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] your sons [G5207][G1473] [will be] with [G3326] with [G3326] me [G1473]. And [G2532] the [G3588] camp [G3925] of Israel BOSS will put [G1325][G2962] into [G1519] hands [G5495] of Philistines .
20: And [G2532] Saul hastened [G4692], and [G2532] fell [G4098] full stop [G2476] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] feared [G5399] very much [G4970] from the [G3588] words [G3056] of Samuel. And [G2532] no [G3756] there was in [G1722] him [G1473] strength [G2479] any longer [G2089], for [G3754] he did not [G3756] eat [G2068] bread all [G3650] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565], and [G2532] all [G3650] the [G3588] night [G3571].
21: And [G2532] entered [G1525] the [G3588] woman [G1135] to [G4314] Saul, and [G2532] looked [at] [G1492] that [G3754] he hastened [G4692] very much [G4970]. And [G2532] she said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473], look [G2400], hearkened to the [G3588] your maidservant [G1399][G1473] the [G3588] your voice [G5456][G1473], and [G2532] I put [G5087] the [G3588] life [G5590] of me [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] my hand [G5495][G1473], and [G2532] I hearkened to the [G3588] your words [G3056][G1473] which [G3739] you spoke [G2980] to me [G1473].
22: And [G2532] now [G3568] hear indeed [G1211] voice [G5456] of the [G3588] your maidservant [G1399][G1473], for [G2532] I will place [G3908] before [G1799] you [G1473] a morsel of bread and [G2532] you eat [G2068]! and [G2532] it will be for [G1722] strength to you [G1473][G2479], that [G3754] you should go [G4198] in [G1722] way [G3598].
23: And [G2532] he resisted persuasion , and [G2532] he did not want [G3756][G1014] to eat [G2068]. And [G2532] they pressed [G3849] him [G1473], the [G3588] his servants [G3816][G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] woman [G1135]. And [G2532] he hearkened to the [G3588]ir voice [G5456][G1473], and [G2532] he rose up from the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] he sat down [G2523] upon [G1909] the [G3588] chair .
24: And [G2532] to the [G3588] woman [G1135] was calf a suckling by [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3614]; and [G2532] she hastened [G4692] and [G2532] sacrificed [G2380] it [G1473], and [G2532] took [G2983] flour and [G2532] mixed it , and [G2532] baked unleavened [breads .
25: And [G2532] she brought it [G4374] before [G1799] Saul, and [G2532] before [G1799] the [G3588] his servants [G3816][G1473], and [G2532] they ate [G2068]. And [G2532] rising up they went forth the [G3588] that night [G3571][G1565].
