1: Take heed [G4337] of the [G3588] your charity [G1654][G1473]! to not [G3361] act [G4160] in front of [G1715] the [G3588] men [so as [G4314] the [G3588] to be a spectacle [G2300] to them [G1473], otherwise [G1490] a wage [G3408] you have not [G3756][G2192] from [G3844] the [G3588] father [G3962] of us [G1473], the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772].
2: Whenever [G3752] then [G3767] you should do [G4160] charity [G1654], you should not [G3361] trump [G4537] before [G1715] you [G1473], as [G5618] the [G3588] stage-actors [G5273] do [G4160] in [G1722] the [G3588] synagogues [G4864] and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] streets [G4505], so that [G3704] they should be glorified [G1392] by [G5259] the [G3588] men . Amen I say [G3004] to you [G1473], they receive the [G3588]ir wage [G3408][G1473].
3: But you [G1473][G1161] doing [G4160] charity [G1654], let not [G3361] know [G1097] the [G3588] your left [hand] [G1473] what [G5100] does [G4160] the [G3588] your right [G1188][G1473]!
4: so that [G3704] might be your [G1473] the [G3588] charity [G1654] in [G1722] the [G3588] secret [G2927]; and [G2532] the [G3588] father [G3962] of us [G1473], the [G3588] [one] seeing in [G1722] the [G3588] secret [G2927], he [G1473] will recompense to you [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] open [G5318].
5: And [G2532] whenever [G3752] you pray [G4336], you should not be [G3756] as [G5618] the [G3588] stage-actors [G5273]; for [G3754] they are fond of [being [G5368] in [G1722] the [G3588] synagogues [G4864], and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] corners [G1137] of the [G3588] squares [G4113] standing [G2476] to pray [G4336], so that [G3704] they should appear [G5316] to the [G3588] men . Amen , I say [G3004] to you [G1473] that [G3754] they receive the [G3588]ir wage [G3408][G1473].
6: But you [G1473][G1161], whenever [G3752] you should pray [G4336], enter [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] your inner chamber [G5009][G1473], and [G2532] having locked [G2808] the [G3588] your door [G2374][G1473], pray [G4336] [to the [G3588] father [G3962] of you [G1473], to the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] the [G3588] secret [place] [G2927]; and [G2532] the [G3588] father [G3962] of us [G1473], the [G3588] [one] seeing in [G1722] the [G3588] secret [place] [G2927] will recompense to you [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] open [G5318]!
7: And praying [G4336][G1161], do not [G3361] repeat over and over as [G5618] the [G3588] heathen [G1482]; for they think [G1380][G1063] that [G3754] by [G1722] the [G3588] many words [G4180] of theirs [G1473] they will be listened to [G1522].
8: You should not [G3361] then [G3767] be like [G3666] them [G1473]; knows [G1492] for [G1063] the [G3588] father [G3962] of you [G1473] of what [G3739] need [G5532] you have [G2192] before [G4253] the [G3588] you [G1473] ask him [G1473].
9: So [G3779] then [G3767] you pray [G4336][G1473]! Father [G3962] of us [G1473], the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772], sanctify the [G3588] name [G3686] of you [G1473]!
10: Let come [G2064] the [G3588] your government '[G1473]! Let come to pass [G1096] the [G3588] your will [G2307][G1473] as [G5613] in [G1722] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] also [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093]!
11: the [G3588] Our bread [G1473], the [G3588] sufficient [G1967], give [G1325] to us [G1473] today [G4594]!
12: And [G2532] forgive us [G1473] the [G3588] our debts [G3783][G1473]! as [G5613] also [G2532] we [G1473] forgive the [G3588] our debtors [G3781][G1473].
13: And [G2532] do not [G3361] insert [G1533] us [G1473] for [G1519] a test [G3986], but rescue [G4506] us [G1473] from the [G3588] wicked one [G4190]! For [G3754] of you [G1473] is the [G3588] government ', and [G2532] the [G3588] power [G1411], and [G2532] the [G3588] glory [G1391], into [G1519] the [G3588] ages (terms) `, amen .
14: For if [G1437][G1063] you should forgive the [G3588] men the [G3588]ir transgressions [G3900][G1473], will also forgive [G2532] you [G1473] the [G3588] father [G3962] of you [G1473] from the high place above (sky) the [G3588][G3770].
15: But if [G1437][G1161] you should not [G3361] forgive the [G3588] men the [G3588]ir transgressions [G3900][G1473], not even [G3761] the [G3588] father [G3962] of us [G1473] from the high place above (sky) the [G3588][G3770] will forgive the [G3588] your transgressions [G3900][G1473].
16: And whenever [G3752][G1161] you should fast [G3522], be not [G3361][G1096] as [G5618] the [G3588] stage-actors [G5273], looking downcast [G4659]! for they obliterate [G1063] the [G3588]ir faces [G4383][G1473], so as [G3704] to appear [G5316] the [G3588] to men as fasting [G3522]. Amen I say [G3004] to you [G1473], that [G3754] they receive the [G3588]ir wage [G3408][G1473].
17: But you [G1473][G1161], fasting [G3522], anoint your [G1473] the [G3588] head [G2776], and [G2532] the [G3588] face [G4383] of you [G1473] wash [G3538]!
18: so that [G3704] you should not [G3361] appear [G5316] [to the [G3588] men as fasting [G3522], but [to the [G3588] father [G3962] of you [G1473], to the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] the [G3588] secret [G2927]. And [G2532] the [G3588] father [G3962] of us [G1473], the [G3588] [one] seeing in [G1722] the [G3588] secret [G2927], will recompense to you [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] open [G5318].
19: Treasure not [G3361][G2343] to yourself [G1473] treasures [G2344] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093]! where [G3699] moth [G4597] and [G2532] rust [G1035] obliterate , and [G2532] where [G3699] thieves [G2812] dig through [G1358] and [G2532] steal [G2813].
20: But treasure up [G2343][G1161] to yourself [G1473] treasures [G2344] in [G1722] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772]! where [G3699] neither [G3777] moth [G4597] nor [G3777] rust [G1035] obliterate , and [G2532] where [G3699] thieves [G2812] do not [G3756] dig through [G1358] nor [G3761] steal [G2813].
21: For where [G3699][G1063] is the [G3588] your treasure [G2344][G1473], there [G1563] will be also [G2532] the [G3588] your heart [G2588][G1473].
22: The [G3588] lamp [G3088] of the [G3588] body [G4983] is the [G3588] eye [G3788]. If [G1437] then [G3767] the [G3588] your eye [G3788][G1473] should be sincere , entire [G3650] the [G3588] body [G4983] your [G1473] giving light [G5460] will be .
23: But if [G1437][G1161] the [G3588] your eye [G3788][G1473] should be evil [G4190], entire [G3650] the [G3588] body [G4983] your [G1473] will be dark [G4652]. If [G1487] then [G3767] the [G3588] light [G5457], the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] you [G1473], is darkness [G4655], the [G3588] darkness [G4655] how great [G4214]?
24: No one [G3762] is able [G1410] two [G1417] bosses [G2962] to serve [G1398]; for [G2228][G1063] the [G3588] [one] [G1520] he will detest [G3404], and [G2532] the [G3588] other [G2087] love ; or [G2228] one [G1520] he will hold to , and [G2532] the [G3588] other [G2087] he will disdain [G2706]; you are not able [G3756][G1410] to serve God '[G2316][G1398] and [G2532] mammon [G3126].
25: On account of [G1223] this [G3778] I say [G3004] to you [G1473], Be not [G3361] anxious [G3309] for the [G3588] your life [G5590][G1473]! what [G5100] you should eat [G2068], and [G2532] what [G5100] you should drink [G4095]; nor [G3366] to the [G3588] your body [G4983][G1473], what [G5100] you should put on [G1746]. not [G3780] the [G3588] life [G5590] more [G4183] Is than the [G3588] nourishment [G5160], and [G2532] the [G3588] body [G4983] [more than the [G3588] a garment [G1742]?
26: Look [G1689] at [G1519] the [G3588] birds [G4071] of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772]! for [G3754] they do not [G3756] sow [G4687], nor [G3761] do they harvest [G2325], nor [G3761] do they gather together [G4863] into [G1519] storehouses ; and [G2532] the [G3588] father [G3962] of us [G1473] from the high place above (sky) the [G3588][G3770] maintains [G5142] them [G1473]. Are you therefore [G3756][G1473] rather [G3123] different [G1308] [than] them [G1473]?
27: And who [G5100][G1161] of [G1537] you [G1473] being anxious [G3309] is able [G1410] to add [G4369] unto [G1909] the [G3588] his stature [G2244][G1473] cubit [G4083] one [G1520]?
28: And [G2532] concerning [G4012] a garment [G1742], why [G5100] are you anxious [G3309]? Study [G2648] the [G3588] lilies [G2918] of the [G3588] field ! how [G4459] they grow ; they do not [G3756] tire [G2872] nor [G3761] spin [G3514].
29: And I say [G3004][G1161] to you [G1473] that [G3754] not even [G3761] Solomon in [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] glory [G1391] of him [G1473] was clothed [G4016] as [G5613] one [G1520] of these [G3778].
30: But if [G1487][G1161] the [G3588] grass [G5528] of the [G3588] field today [G4594] is being , and [G2532] tomorrow into [G1519] an oven [G2823] [is] being thrown , [and the [G3588] God '[G2316] so [G3779] clothes [them , [will he] not [G3756] much [G4183] rather [G3123] you [G1473], O ones of little belief [G3640]?
31: Do not [G3361] then [G3767] be anxious [G3309]! saying [G3004], What [G5100] will we eat [G2068], or [G2228] what [G5100] will we drink [G4095], or [G2228] what [G5100] should be worn [G4016]?
32: For all [G3956][G1063] these [things] [G3778] the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] seek anxiously [G1934]. knows [G1492] For [G1063] the [G3588] father [G3962] of you [G1473] from the high place above (sky) the [G3588][G3770] that [G3754] you need [G5535] these [things] [G3778] all together .
33: But seek [G2212][G1161] first [G4412] the [G3588] government ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316] and [G2532] the [G3588] his righteousness [G1343][G1473]! and [G2532] all these [things] [G3778][G3956] will be added [G4369] to you [G1473].
34: You should not [G3361] then [G3767] be anxious [G3309] for [G1519] the [G3588] tomorrow ; for the [G3588] [G1063] tomorrow will be anxious for [G3309] the [things] [G3588] of itself [G1438]. Sufficient to the [G3588] day [G2250] [is] the [G3588] evil [G2549] of it [G1473].
