Proverbs Chapter 6 - | Early Church Bible

1: O son [G5207], if [G1437] you should guarantee a loan for your [G4674] friend [G5384], you will deliver up [G3860] your [G4674] hand [G5495] to enemy [G2190].
2: snare [G3803] For [G1063] [are] a strong [G2478] a man's the [G3588] own [G2398] lips [G5491], and [G2532] he is captured [by the] words [G4487] of his own [G2398] mouth [G4750].
3: Do [G4160], O son [G5207], what [G3739] I [G1473] give charge to you [G1473][G1781], and [G2532] preserve yourself [G4982]! you come [G2240] For [G1063] into [G1519] hands [G5495] of evils [G2556] on account of [G1223] your [G4674] friend [G5384]. Be not [G3361] enfeebled [G1590]! but you provoke [G3947][G1161] even [G2532] the [G3588] your friend [G5384][G1473] whom [G3739] you guaranteed a loan .
4: You should not [G3361] give [G1325] sleep [G5258] to your [G4674] eyes [G3659] nor [G3366] slumber to your [G4674] eyelids ,
5: so that [G2443] you should escape [G4982] as [G5618] a doe [G1393] from [G1537] nooses [G1029], and [G2532] as [G5618] a fowl [G3732] from out of [G1537] a snare [G3803].
6: Be as [G4314] the [G3588] ant , O [G5599] lazy one [G3636], and [G2532] be jealous [G2206] looking [at] [G1492] the [G3588] his ways [G3598][G1473]; and [G2532] become [G1096] [as] that one [G1565] -- wiser [G4680]!
7: For to that one [G1565][G1063] there is no farm [G1091][G3361] possession [G5224], nor [G3366] the [G3588] [one] compelling [him [is he] having [G2192], nor [G3366] under [G5259] a boss [G1203] [is] he being .
8: He prepares [G2090] of summer [G2330] the [G3588] nourishment [G5160], much [G4183] and also [G5037] in [G1722] the [G3588] harvest he prepares [G4160] for the [G3588] fete .
9: For how long [G2193][G5100], O lazy one [G3636], do you recline [G2621]? And when [G4219][G1161] from out of [G1537] sleep [G5258] will you arise [G1453]?
10: A little [G3641] then [G3303] to sleep , and a little [G3641][G1161] you sit down [G2521], and a little [G3397][G1161] you slumber [G3573], and a little [G3641][G1161] you fold your arms [G1723] [with] hands [G5495] to breasts [G4738].
11: So then [G1534] comes upon you [G1473] as [G5618] an evil [G2556] traveler the [G3588] poverty ; and [G2532] the [G3588] lack as [G5618] a good runner .
12: A man , a fool and [G2532] a lawbreaker , will go [G4198] by ways [G3598] not [G3756] good .
13: And the [G3588][G1161] same [G1473] beckons [G1770] [with the] eyes [G3788], and makes signs [G4591][G1161] [with the] foot [G4228], and teaches [G1321][G1161] [with the] beckoning of [his] fingers [G1147].
14: being perverted [G1294] And [G1161] a heart [G2588] contrives evils [G2556]; at [G1722] all [G3956] time [G2540] the [G3588] such a one [G5108] disturbances [G5016] concocts [G4921] to a city [G4172].
15: On account of [G1223] this [G3778] suddenly comes [G2064] the [G3588] his destruction [G1473]; severance and [G2532] destruction irretrievable .
16: For [G3754] he rejoices [G5463] in all [things] [G3956] which [G3739] detests [G3404] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962]; and he is destroyed [G4937][G1161] because of [G1223] uncleanness of soul [G5590] --
17: eye [G3788] an insulting [G5197], tongue [G1100] an unjust , hands [G5495] pouring out [G1632] blood righteous [G1342],
18: and [G2532] a heart [G2588] contriving devices [G3053] evil [G2556], and [G2532] feet [G4228] hurrying to do evil [G2554].
19: kindles [G1572] lying [G5571] witness [G3144] An unjust , and [G2532] brings in addition [judicial] cases [G2920] between brothers .
20: O son [G5207], guard [G5442] laws [G3551] of father [G3962] of you [G1473]! and [G2532] you should not thrust away [G3361] rules of your mother [G3384][G1473].
21: But affix [G1161] them [G1473] upon [G1909] your [G4674] soul [G5590] always [G1275], and [G2532] bind them with a cord around [G4012] your [G4674] neck [G5137]!
22: When [G2259] ever you should walk [G4043], bring [G1863] it [G1473], and [G2532] with [G3326] you [G1473] let it be ! And when [G5613][G1161] ever you should sleep [G2518], let it guard [G5442] you [G1473]! that [G2443] in arising [G1453] it should converse together [G4814] with you [G1473].
23: For [G3754] [is] a lamp [G3088] commandment [G1785] of law [G3551], and [G2532] a light [G5457], and [G2532] a way [G3598] of life [G2222], and [G2532] reproof [G1650], and [G2532] instruction [G3809];
24: the [G3588] to guard [G1314] you [G1473] from woman [G1135] a married [G5220], and [G2532] from distraction tongue [G1100] of a strange .
25: O son [G5207], let not [G3361] overcome you [G1473][G3528] of beauty desire [G1939], nor [G3366] be caught your [G4674] eyes [G3788] nor [G3366] seized [G4884] by the [G3588] her [G1473] eyelids .
26: For value [G5092][G1063] of a harlot [G4204] [is] as much as [G3745] even [G2532] one [G1520] bread loaf ; and a woman [G1135][G1161] of men precious [G5093] souls [G5590] ensnares .
27: will anyone tie up [G5100] fire [G4442] in [G1722] [his] bosom [G2859], the [G3588] and [G1161] [his] garments [G2440] not [G3756] incinerate [G2618]?
28: Or [G2228] will anyone walk [G4043][G5100] upon [G1909] coals of fire [G4442], the [G3588] and [G1161] [his] feet [G4228] will not [G3756] incinerate [G2618].
29: So [G3779] the [G3588] [one] entering [G1525] to [G4314] woman [G1135] a married [G5220]; he will not [G3756] be acquitted , nor [G3761] any [one [G3956] the [G3588] touching her [G1473].
30: [It is] not [G3756] a wonder [G2298] if [G1437] any be captured [G5100] stealing [G2813]; for he steals [G2813][G1063] that [G2443] he should fill up [G1705] [his] soul [G5590] [when] hungering [G3983];
31: but if [G1437][G1161] he should be captured he will pay seven-fold , and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] possessions [G5224] of him [G1473] [by] giving [G1325] will rescue [G4506] himself [G1438].
32: But the [G3588][G1161] adulterer [G3432], through [G1223] lack of sense [G5424], destruction for the [G3588] his soul [G5590][G1473] procures [G4046].
33: Both griefs [G3601][G5037] and [G2532] dishonor he suffers [G5297], the [G3588] and [G1161] his scorn [G3681][G1473] will not [G3756] be wiped away [G1813] into [G1519] the [G3588] age (term) `.
34: [is] full [G3324] For [G1063] of zeal [G2205] rage [G2372] of her husband [G1473]; he will not [G3756] spare [G5339] in [G1722] day [G2250] of judgment [G2920].
35: He will not [G3756] bargain for any [G3762] ransom [G3083] the [G3588] [of his] hatred [G2189], nor part [G1262] by many [G4183] gifts [G1435].
