1 Corinthians Chapter 12 - | Early Church Bible

1: But concerning [G4012][G1161] the [G3588] [things] of wind/spirit/breathing '[G4152], brothers , I do not [G3756] want [G2309] you [G1473] to be ignorant .
2: You know [G1492] that [G3754] when [G3753] you were tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484], to [G4314] the [G3588] idols [G1497] the [G3588] voiceless even as [G5613] you were conveyed ' being led away .
3: Therefore [G1352] I make known [G1107] to you [G1473], that [G3754] no one [G3762] in [G1722] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] of God '[G2316] speaking [G2980] says [G3004], Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) [is] anathema ; and [G2532] no one [G3762] is able [G1410] to say [G2036], Boss '[G2962] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), except [G1508] by [G1722] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] pure '.
4: But divisions [G1243][G1161] of favors [G5486] there are , but the [G3588][G1161] same [G1473] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151];
5: and [G2532] divisions [G1243] of services [G1248] there are , and [G2532] the [G3588] same [G1473] Boss '[G2962].
6: And [G2532] divisions [G1243] of operations [G1755] there are , the [G3588] but [G1161] same [G1473] it is God '[G2316], the [G3588] [one] operating [G1754] the [G3588] all [things] [G3956] in [G1722] all [G3956].
7: And to each [G1538][G1161] is given [G1325] the [G3588] open display [G5321] of the [G3588] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] for [G4314] the [G3588] advantage [G4851].
8: For indeed one [G3739][G3303][G1063] through [G1223] the [G3588] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] is given [G1325] word [G3056] of wisdom [G4678]; and to another [G1161] word [G3056] of knowledge [G1108], according to [G2596] the [G3588] same [G1473] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151].
9: And to another [G2087][G1161] trust '[G4102], in [G1722] the [G3588] same [G1473] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151]; and to another [G1161] favors [G5486] of cures [G2386], in [G1722] the [G3588] same [G1473] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151];
10: and to another [G1161] operations [G1755] of powers [G1411]; and to another [G1161] prophecy [G4394]; and to another [G1161] distinction [G1253] of blowing airs (ghosts) '[G4151]; and to another [G2087][G1161] types [G1085] of languages [G1100]; and to another [G1161] translation [G2058] of languages [G1100].
11: But all [G3956][G1161] these [G3778] operate [G1754] by the [G3588] [one] [G1520] and [G2532] the [G3588] same [G1473] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151], dividing [G1244] privately [G2398] to each [G1538] as [G2531] he wills [G1014].
12: For just as [G2509][G1063] the [G3588] body [G4983] is one [G1520], and [G2532] members [G3196] has [G2192] many [G4183], but all [G3956][G1161] the [G3588] members [G3196] of the [G3588] body [G4983] the [G3588] [one] [G1520], being many [G4183], are one [G1520] body [G4983]; so [G3779] also [G2532] the [G3588] [one] Anointed '[G5547].
13: For also [G2532][G1063] in [G1722] one [G1520] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] we [G1473] all [G3956] in [G1519] one [G1520] body [G4983] were submerged , whether [G1535] Jews, whether [G1535] Greeks, whether [G1535] slaves [G1401], whether [G1535] free [G1658]; and [G2532] all [G3956] into [G1519] one [G1520] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] given to drink [G4222].
14: For also [G2532][G1063] the [G3588] body [G4983] not [G3756] is one [G1520] member [G3196], but many [G4183].
15: If [G1437] should say [G2036] the [G3588] foot [G4228] that [G3754], I am not [G3756] a hand [G5495], I am not [G3756] of [G1537] the [G3588] body [G4983]; [it is] not [G3756] because of [G3844] this [G3778] it not [G3756] is of [G1537] the [G3588] body [G4983].
16: And [G2532] if [G1437] should say [G2036] the [G3588] ear [G3775] that [G3754], I am not [G3756] an eye [G3788], I am not [G3756] of [G1537] the [G3588] body [G4983]; [it is] not [G3756] because of [G3844] this [G3778] it not [G3756] is of [G1537] the [G3588] body [G4983].
17: If [G1487] all [G3650] the [G3588] body [G4983] [was] an eye [G3788], where [would be [G4226] the [G3588] hearing ? If [G1487] all [G3650] [was] hearing , where [would be [G4226] the [G3588] smelling [G3750]?
18: But now [G3568][G1161] the [G3588] God '[G2316] made [G5087] the [G3588] members [G3196], one [G1520] each [G1538] of them [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] body [G4983], as [G2531] he wanted [G2309].
19: But if [G1487][G1161] it was the [G3588] all [G3956] [were] one [G1520] member [G3196], where [G4226] the [G3588] body [G4983]?
20: But now [there are [G3568][G1161] many [G4183] members indeed [G3303][G3196], but one [G1520][G1161] body [G4983].
21: is not [G3756] able [G1410] And [G1161] eye [G3788] to say [G2036] to the [G3588] hand [G5495], need [G5532] of you [G1473] I have no [G3756][G2192]; or [G2228] again [G3825] the [G3588] head [G2776] to the [G3588] feet [G4228], need [G5532] of you [G1473] I have no [G3756][G2192].
22: But more [G4183] rather [G3123], the [G3588] which seem [G1380] members [G3196] of the [G3588] body [G4983] weaker to be [G5224] are important ;
23: and [G2532] the ones which [G3739] seem [G1380] to be exceedingly without honor of the [G3588] body [G4983], these [G3778] honor [G5092] more extra [G4053] we invest [G4060]; and [G2532] the [G3588] indecent [parts our [G1473] decency [G2157] more extra [G4053] have [G2192];
24: the [G3588] but [G1161] decent [parts [G2158] our [G1473] no [G3756] need [G5532] have [G2192]. But the [G3588] God '[G2316] mixed together [G4786] the [G3588] body [G4983] to the [part the [G3588] lacking [G5302], more extra [G4053] having given [G1325] honor [G5092],
25: that [G2443] there might not be [G3361] a split [G4978] in [G1722] the [G3588] body [G4983], but the [G3588] same [G1473] for [G5228] one another should have concern [G3309] [that] the [G3588] members [G3196].
26: And [G2532] whether [G1535] suffers [G3958] one [G1520] member [G3196], suffer along [G4841] all [G3956] the [G3588] members [G3196]; whether [G1535] be glorified [G1392] one [G1520] member [G3196], rejoice along [G4796] all [G3956] the [G3588] members [G3196].
27: But you [G1473][G1161] are body [G4983] of Anointed "'[G5547], and [G2532] members [G3196] in turn [G1537][G3313].
28: And [G2532] whom [G3739] indeed [G3303] appointed [G5087] the [G3588] God '[G2316] in [G1722] the [G3588] assembly [G1577], first [G4412] sent ones (apostles) ', second [G1208] prophets [G4396], third [G5154] teachers [G1320], thereupon [G1899] [works] of power [G1411], then [G1534] favors [G5486] of cures [G2386], assistance , guidance [G2941], types [G1085] of languages [G1100].
29: Not [G3361] all [G3956] [are] sent ones (apostles) '. Not [G3361] all [G3956] [are] prophets [G4396]. Not [G3361] all [G3956] [are] teachers [G1320]. Not [G3361] all [G3956] [are works] of power [G1411].
30: Not [G3361] all [G3956] favors [G5486] have [G2192] of cures [G2386]. Not [G3361] all [G3956] languages [G1100] speak [G2980]. Not [G3361] all [G3956] interpret [G1329].
31: But be zealous for [G2206][G1161] the [G3588] favors [G5486] the [G3588] better [G2908]. And [G2532] yet [G2089] that exceeds [G2596][G5236] a way [G3598] I will show to you [G1473][G1166].
