Matthew Chapter 2 - | Early Church Bible

1: the [G3588] And [G1161] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) having been born [G1080] in [G1722] Bethlehem the [G3588] of Judea, in [G1722] days [G2250] of Herod the [G3588] king , look [G2400], magi [G3097] from east came [G3854] unto [G1519] Jerusalem,
2: saying [G3004], Where [G4226] is the [G3588] [one] having been born [G5088] king of the [G3588] Jews? For we looked [at] [G1492][G1063] of him '[G1473] the [G3588] star in [G1722] the [G3588] east , and [G2532] we came [G2064] to do obeisance [G4352] to him [G1473].
3: And hearing [G1161], Herod the [G3588] king was disturbed [G5015], and [G2532] all [G3956] Jerusalem with [G3326] him [G1473].
4: And [G2532] gathering together [G4863] all [G3956] the [G3588] chief priests and [G2532] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]) of the [G3588] people [G2992], he inquired [G4441] of [G3844] them [G1473] where [G4226] the [G3588] [one] Anointed '[G5547] is born [G1080].
5: And they the [G3588][G1161] said [G2036] to him [G1473], In [G1722] Bethlehem the [G3588] of Judea; for thus [G3779][G1063] it has been written [G1125] by [G1223] the [G3588] prophet [G4396],
6: And [G2532] you [G1473], Bethlehem, land '[G1093] of Judea, not at all [G3760] least [G1646] are in [G1722] the [G3588] governs [G2232] of Judea. from out of [G1537] you [G1473] For [G1063] will come forth [G1831] one leading [G2233], who [G3748] will tend [G4165] the [G3588] people [G2992] of me [G1473] the [G3588] Israel.
7: Then [G5119] Herod, in private [G2977] having called [G2564] the [G3588] magi [G3097], exacted from [G3844] them [G1473] the [G3588] time [G5550] of the [G3588] appearing [G5316] star .
8: And [G2532] having sent [G3992] them [G1473] unto [G1519] Bethlehem, he said [G2036], Having gone [G4198], exactly inquire [G1833] concerning [G4012] the [G3588] child [G3813]! And when [G1875][G1161] you should have found [G2147], report to me [G1473], so that [G3704] I also [G2504] having come [G2064] should do obeisance [G4352] to him [G1473].
9: And they the [G3588][G1161], having heard the [G3588] king , went [G4198]. And [G2532] look [G2400], the [G3588] star which [G3739] they looked [at] [G1492] in [G1722] the [G3588] east led before [G4254] them [G1473], until [G2193] having come [G2064] it stood [G2476] above [G1883] of which [place] [G3739] was the [G3588] child [G3813].
10: And looking [at] [G1492][G1161] the [G3588] star , they rejoiced [G5463] joy [G5479] a great [G3173], exceedingly [G4970].
11: And [G2532] having come [G2064] unto [G1519] the [G3588] residence [G3614], they saw [G1492] the [G3588] child [G3813] with [G3326] Mary the [G3588] his mother [G3384][G1473]. And [G2532] having fallen [G4098], they did obeisance [G4352] to him [G1473]. And [G2532] having opened the [G3588]ir treasuries [G2344][G1473], they offered [G4374] to him [G1473] gifts [G1435] -- gold [G5557] and [G2532] frankincense [G3030] and [G2532] myrrh [G4666].
12: And [G2532] having received a divine message [G5537] by [G2596] dream [G3677], to not return [G3361] to [G4314] Herod, by [G1223] another way [G3598] they withdrew unto [G1519] the [G3588]ir place [G5561][G1473].
13: withdrawing And [G1161] of their [G1473], look [G2400], a word-conveyer (messenger) ' [of the] Boss '[G2962] appeared [G5316] by [G2596] dream [G3677] [to the [G3588] Joseph, saying [G3004], Having arisen [G1453], take to yourself [G3880] the [G3588] child [G3813] and [G2532] the [G3588] his mother [G3384][G1473], and [G2532] flee [G5343] into [G1519] Egypt! and [G2532] be there [G1563] until [G2193] whenever I should speak [G2036] to you [G1473]! [is] about [G3195] For [G1063] Herod] to seek [G2212] the [G3588] child [G3813] the [G3588] to destroy it [G1473].
14: the [G3588] And [G1161] having arisen [G1453], he took to himself [G3880] the [G3588] child [G3813] and [G2532] the [G3588] his mother [G3384][G1473] [by] night [G3571], and [G2532] he withdrew into [G1519] Egypt.
15: And [G2532] he was there [G1563] until [G2193] the [G3588] decease [G5054] of Herod, that [G2443] should be fulfilled [G4137] the [thing] [G3588] having been spoken [G4483] by [G5259] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] through [G1223] the [G3588] prophet [G4396], saying [G3004], From out of [G1537] Egypt I called [G2564] the [G3588] my son [G5207][G1473].
16: Then [G5119] Herod, knowing [G1492] that [G3754] he was mocked [G1702] by [G5259] the [G3588] magi [G3097], was enraged [G2373] exceedingly [G3029]. And [G2532] having sent , he did away with all [G3956] the [G3588] boys [G3816], the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Bethlehem, and [G2532] in [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] borders [G3725] of it [G1473], from two years [old [G1332] and [G2532] below [G2736], according to [G2596] the [G3588] time [G5550] which [G3739] was exacted from [G3844] the [G3588] magi [G3097].
17: Then [G5119] was fulfilled [G4137] the [thing] [G3588] having been spoken [G4483] by [G5259] Jeremiah the [G3588] prophet [G4396], saying [G3004],
18: A voice [G5456] in [G1722] Rama was heard , wailing [G2355] and [G2532] weeping [G2805], and [G2532] grieving [G3602] much [G4183], Rachel weeping over [G2799] the [G3588] her children [G5043][G1473], and [G2532] she wanted not [G3756][G2309] to be comforted [G3870], for [G3754] they not [G3756] are .
19: having come to an end [G5053] And [G1161] the [G3588] Herod], look [G2400], a word-conveyer (messenger) ' [of the] Boss '[G2962] by [G2596] dream [G3677] appears [G5316] [to the [G3588] Joseph in [G1722] Egypt,
20: saying [G3004], Having arisen [G1453], take to yourself [G3880] the [G3588] child [G3813] and [G2532] the [G3588] his mother [G3384][G1473], and [G2532] go [G4198] into [G1519] land '[G1093] of Israel! have died [G2348][G1063] for [G1063] the [G3588] [ones] seeking [G2212] the [G3588] life [G5590] of the [G3588] child [G3813]!
21: the [G3588] And [G1161] having arisen [G1453], he took to himself [G3880] the [G3588] child [G3813] and [G2532] the [G3588] his mother [G3384][G1473], and [G2532] came [G2064] into [G1519] land '[G1093] of Israel.
22: And having heard [G1161] that [G3754] Archelaus reigned over [G1909] the [G3588] Judea instead of Herod the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473], he feared [G5399] to go forth there [G1563]. And having received a divine message [G5537][G1161] by [G2596] dream [G3677], he withdrew into [G1519] the [G3588] parts [G3313] of the [G3588] Galilee.
23: And [G2532] having come [G2064], he dwelt [G2730] in [G1519] a city [G4172] being called [G3004] Nazareth; so that [G3704] should be fulfilled [G4137] the [thing] [G3588] having been spoken [G4483] through [G1223] the [G3588] prophets, [saying [G4396], For [G3754] he will be called a Nazarene [G2564].
