Genesis Chapter 32 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] Jacob went forth into [G1519] the [G3588] his own [G1438] way [G3598]. And [G2532] having looked up , he saw [G1492] camp [G3925] of God '[G2316] encamped . And [G2532] met with [G4876] him [G1473] the [G3588] word-conveyers (messengers) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316].
2: said [G2036] And [G1161] Jacob], when [G2259] he saw [G1492] them [G1473], camp [G3925] of God '[G2316] This [is [G3778]. And [G2532] he called [G2564] the [G3588] name [G3686] of the [G3588] that place [G5117][G1565], Camps [G3925].
3: sent And [G1161] Jacob] word-conveyers (messengers) ' in front of [G1715] him [G1473] to [G4314] Esau the [G3588] brother of him [G1473], into [G1519] land '[G1093] of Seir into [G1519] region [G5561] of Edom.
4: And [G2532] he gave charge [G1781] to them [G1473], saying [G3004], Thus [G3779] you will say [G2046] [to the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] Esau; Thus [G3779] says [G3004] the [G3588] servant [G3816] of you [G1473] Jacob, with [G3326] Laban I sojourned [G3939], and [G2532] passed time [G5549] until [G2193] the [G3588] present [G3568].
5: And [G2532] came [G1096] to me [G1473] oxen [G1016], and [G2532] donkeys [G3688], and [G2532] sheep [G4263], and [G2532] manservants [G3816], and [G2532] maidservants [G3814]. And [G2532] I sent to announce to the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] Esau, that [G2443] might find [G2147] the [G3588] servant [G3816] of you [G1473] favor [G5484] before [G1726] you [G1473].
6: And [G2532] returned the [G3588] word-conveyers (messengers) ' to [G4314] Jacob, saying [G3004], We came [G2064] to [G4314] the [G3588] your brother [G1473] Esau. And [G2532] look [G2400], he [G1473] is coming [G2064] to [G1519] meet [G4877] you [G1473], and [G2532] four hundred [G5071] men with [G3326] him [G1473].
7: feared [G5399] And [G1161] Jacob] exceedingly [G4970], and [G2532] he was perplexed . And [G2532] he divided [G1244] the [G3588] people [G2992], the [G3588] [one] with [G3326] himself [G1438], and [G2532] the [G3588] oxen [G1016], and [G2532] the [G3588] sheep [G4263] into [G1519] two [G1417] camps [G3925].
8: And [G2532] Jacob said [G2036], If [G1437] Esau should come [G2064] into [G1519] camp [G3925] one [G1520] and [G2532] should smite [G2875] it [G1473], will be the [G3588] camp [G3925] the [G3588] second [G1208] for [G1519] the [G3588] delivering [G4982].
9: said [G2036] And [G1161] Jacob], the [G3588] God '[G2316] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473] Abraham, and [G2532] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473] Isaac, O Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] [one] saying [G2036] to me [G1473], Run to [G1519] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of the [G3588] your birth [G1078][G1473]! and [G2532] good [G2095] to you [G1473] I will do [G4160].
10: It is fit [G2427] to me [G1473] for all [G3956] righteousness [G1343], and [G2532] off all [G3956] truth , of which [G3739] you did [G4160] to the [G3588] servant [G3816] of you [G1473]; for with [G1722][G1063] the [G3588] my rod [G4464][G1473] this [G3778] I passed over [G1224] the [G3588] this Jordan [G3778], and now [G3568][G1161] I exist [G1096] in [G1519] two [G1417] camps [G3925].
11: Rescue [G1807] me [G1473] from [G1537] hand [G5495] of the [G3588] my brother [G1473], from [G1537] hand [G5495] of Esau! For [G3754] I fear [G5399][G1473] him [G1473], lest [G3379] coming [G2064] he should strike [G3960] me [G1473], and [G2532] mother [G3384] with [G1909] children [G5043].
12: But you [G1473][G1161], you said [G2036], good [G2095] you [G1473] I will do [G4160], and [G2532] I will establish [G5087] the [G3588] your seed [G4690][G1473] as [G5613] the [G3588] sand of the [G3588] sea [G2281], which [G3739] will not be counted [G3756] by [G5259] the [G3588] multitude [G4128].
13: And [G2532] he went to sleep [G2837] there [G1563] the [G3588] that night [G3571][G1565]. And [G2532] he took [G2983] of which [G3739] he brought [G5342] gifts [G1435], and [G2532] he sent [G1821] to Esau the [G3588] brother of him [G1473];
14: goats -- two hundred [G1250]; he-goats [G5131] -- twenty [G1501]; sheep [G4263] -- two hundred [G1250]; rams -- twenty [G1501];
15: camels [G2574] nursing [G2337] and [G2532] the [G3588]ir offspring [G3813][G1473] -- thirty [G5144]; oxen [G1016] -- forty [G5062]; bulls [G5022] -- ten [G1176]; donkeys [G3688] -- twenty [G1501]; and [G2532] foals [G4454] -- ten [G1176].
16: And [G2532] he gave [G1325] them [G1473] by [G1223] hand [G5495] [to the [G3588] his servants [G3816][G1473] a flock [G4168] alone [G2596][G3441]. And he said [G2036][G1161] [to the [G3588] his servants [G3816][G1473], You go forth [G4313] in front of [G1715] me [G1473], and [G2532] a space [G1292] make [G4160] between flock [G4167] and [G2532] flock [G4167].
17: And [G2532] he gave charge [G1781] to the [G3588] first [G4413], saying [G3004], If [G1437] should meet you [G1473][G4876] Esau the [G3588] my brother [G1473], and [G2532] he should ask [G2065] you [G1473], saying [G3004], Who [G5100] are you ? and [G2532] where [G4226] might you go [G4198]? and [G2532] who [are [G5100] these [G3778] the [G3588] going before [G4313] you [G1473]?
18: You will say [G2046], the [G3588] Servant [G3816] of you [G1473] Jacob gifts [G1435] has sent to the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] Esau. And [G2532] look [G2400], he [G1473] [is] behind [G3694] us [G1473].
19: And [G2532] he gave charge [G1781] to the [G3588] first [G4413], and [G2532] to the [G3588] second [G1208], and [G2532] to the [G3588] third [G5154], and [G2532] to all [G3956] the [ones] the [G3588] going before [G4313] behind [G3694] the [G3588]se flocks [G4168][G3778], saying [G3004], According to [G2596] the [G3588] this saying [G4487][G3778] you speak [G2980] [to] Esau when [G1722] the [G3588] you find [G2147][G1473] him [G1473]!
20: And [G2532] you will say [G2046], look [G2400], the [G3588] servant [G3816] of you [G1473] Jacob comes [G3854] after [G3694] us [G1473]. For he said [G2036][G1063], I will appease the [G3588] his face [G4383][G1473] by [G1722] the [G3588] gifts [G1435] the [G3588] going before [G4313] him [G1473]; and [G2532] after [G3326] this [G3778] I will see [G3708] the [G3588] his countenance [G4383][G1473], for perhaps [G2481][G1063] he will favorably receive [G4327] the [G3588] my person [G4383][G1473].
21: And [G2532] went before [G4313] the [G3588] gifts [G1435] [G2596] his face [G4383][G1473]. And he [G1473][G1161] went to sleep [G2837] the [G3588] that night [G3571][G1565] in [G1722] the [G3588] camp [G3925].
22: And rising [G1161] the [G3588] that night [G3571][G1565], he took [G2983] the [G3588] two [G1417] wives [G1135], and [G2532] the [G3588] two [G1417] maidservants [G3814], and [G2532] the [G3588] eleven [G1733] children [G3813] of of him '[G1473], and [G2532] he passed over [G1224] for the [G3588]d of the [G3588] Jabbok.
23: And [G2532] he took [G2983] them [G1473], and [G2532] passed over [G1224] the [G3588] rushing stream [G5493], and [G2532] he caused to pass over all [G3956] the [ones] the [G3588] of of him '[G1473].
24: was left behind [G5275] And [G1161] Jacob] alone [G3441], and [G2532] wrestled a man with [G3326] him [G1473] until [G2193] morning [G4404].
25: And he saw [G1492][G1161] that [G3754] he was not able [G3756][G1410] to [prevail against [G4314] him [G1473]; and [G2532] he touched the [G3588] wide [part [G4114] of the [G3588] his thigh [G3382][G1473], and [G2532] he paralyzed the [G3588] wide part [G4114] of the [G3588] thigh [G3382] of Jacob in [G1722] the [G3588] his wrestling [G1473] with [G3326] him [G1473].
26: And [G2532] he said [G2036] to him [G1473], You send me [away [G1473]! went up for [G1063] the [G3588] dawn [G3722]. the [G3588] And [G1161] he said [G2036], No way will I send you away [G1473] if [G1437] not [G3361] me [G1473] you should bless [G2127].
27: And he said [G2036][G1161] to him [G1473], What [G5100] the [G3588] name [G3686] your [G1473] is ? the [G3588] And [G1161] he said [G2036], Jacob.
28: And [G2532] he said [G2036] to him [G1473], not [G3756] will be called [G2564] any longer [G2089] the [G3588] your name [G3686][G1473] Jacob, but Israel will be the [G3588] name [G3686] of you [G1473]; for [G2089] you grew in strength [G1765] against [G3326] God '[G2316], and [G2532] against [G3326] men mighty [G1415].
29: asked [G2065] And [G1161] Jacob] and [G2532] said [G2036], Announce to me [G1473] the [G3588] name [G3686] of you [G1473]! And [G2532] he said [G2036], Why [G2444] [is] this [G3778] you ask [G2065][G1473] the [G3588] name [G3686] of me [G1473], which [G3739] is wonderful [G2298]? And [G2532] he blessed [G2127] him [G1473] there [G1563].
30: And [G2532] Jacob called [G2564] the [G3588] name [G3686] of the [G3588] that place [G5117][G1565], look [G1491] of God '[G2316]. For I saw [G1492][G1063] the [G3588] God '[G2316] face [G4383] to [G4314] face [G4383], and [G2532] was delivered [G4982] my [G1473] the [G3588] life [G5590].
31: arose And [G1161] to him [G1473] the [G3588] sun [G2246] when [G2259] he went by [G3928] for the [G3588]m [G1491] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], but he [G1473][G1161] was limping in the [G3588] his thigh [G3382][G1473].
32: Because of [G1752] this [G3778], no way eat [G2068] [do] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] the [G3588] nerve [by] which [G3739] he was paralyzed , which [G3739] is upon [G1909] the [G3588] wide [part [G4114] of the [G3588] thigh [G3382], until [G2193] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778]. For [G3754] he touched the [G3588] wide [part [G4114] of the [G3588] thigh [G3382] of Jacob, of the [G3588] nerve , in which [G3739] he was paralyzed .
