2 Kings Chapter 19 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] as [G5613] heard the [G3588] king Hezekiah], that [G2532] he tore [G1284] the [G3588] his garments [G2440][G1473], and [G2532] put on [G4016] sackcloth [G4526], and [G2532] entered [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962].
2: And [G2532] he sent Eliakim the [G3588] manager [G3623], and [G2532] Shebna the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]), and [G2532] the [G3588] elders [G4245] of the [G3588] priests [G2409], having put on [G4016] sackcloths [G4526], to [G4314] Isaiah son [G5207] of Amoz the [G3588] prophet [G4396].
3: And [G2532] they said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473], Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Hezekiah, A day [G2250] of affliction [G2347], and [G2532] of rebuke , and [G2532] provocation to anger [G3950] the [G3588] [is] this day [G2250][G3778]; for [G3754] came [G2064] the [G3588] sons [G5207] unto [G2193] [birth] pangs [G5604], and [G2532] there is no [G3756] strength [G2479] [to the [G3588] give birth [G5088].
4: If by any means [G1513] will hearken to [G1522] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] your God '[G2316][G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] of Rabshakeh, whom [G3739] sent him [G1473] king of the Assyrians the [G3588] his boss [G2962][G1473] to berate [G3679] living God '[G2316][G2198], and [G2532] to reprove [G1651] by [G1722] words [G3056] which [G3739] heard Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] your God '[G2316][G1473], that [G2532] you will take [up [G2983] a prayer [G4335] for [G5228] the [G3588] remnant [G3005] the [G3588] being found [G2147].
5: And [G2532] came [G2064] the [G3588] servants [G3816] of the [G3588] king Hezekiah] to [G4314] Isaiah.
6: And [G2532] said [G2036] to them [G1473] Isaiah], Thus [G3778] you will say [G2046] to [G4314] the [G3588] your boss [G2962][G1473], Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], You should not fear [G3361][G5399] from the [G3588] words [G3056] which [G3739] you heard , which [G3739] blasphemed against [G1519] me [G1473] the [G3588] servants [G3808] of the [G3588] king of Assyrians].
7: look [G2400], I [G1473] give [G1325] a wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] to [G1722] him [G1473], and [G2532] he will hear a word-conveyed (message) ', and [G2532] will return unto [G1519] the [G3588] his land '[G1093][G1473], and [G2532] I will cast him down [G2598][G1473] by [G1722] broadsword [G4501] in [G1722] the [G3588] his land '[G1093][G1473].
8: And [G2532] Rabshakeh returned [G1994], and [G2532] found [G2147] the [G3588] king of Assyrians waging war [G4170] against [G1909] Libnah; for [G3754] he heard that [G3754] he departed from Lachish.
9: And [G2532] he heard concerning [G4012] Tirhakah king of Ethiopians, saying [G3004], look [G2400], he comes forth [G1831] the [G3588] to wage war against [G4170] you [G1473]. And [G2532] he returned [G1994], and [G2532] sent word-conveyers (messengers) ' to [G4314] Hezekiah, saying [G3004],
10: Thus [G3592] will you say [G2046] to [G4314] Hezekiah king of Judah, Let not [G3361] you [G1473] deceive the [G3588] your God '[G2316][G1473] in whom [G3739] you [G1473] rely [G3982] upon [G1909] him [G1473], saying [G3004], In no way should Jerusalem be delivered up [G3860] into [G1519] hands [G5495] of king of Assyrians.
11: look [G2400], you [G1473] heard all [G3956] as much as [G3745] did [G4160] king of Assyrians] in all [G3956] the [G3588] lands '[G1093], as [G5613] they utterly destroyed them [G1842][G1473]; and [G2532] how [G4459] will you be rescued [G1473][G4506]?
12: [Have [G3361] rescued [G1807] the [G3588] gods '[G2316] of the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] which [G3739] utterly destroyed [G1311] the [G3588] my fathers [G3962][G1473] the [G3588] both [G5037] Gozan, and [G2532] the [G3588] Haran, and [G2532] Rezeph, and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Eden, the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Thelasar?
13: Where [G4226] is the [G3588] king of Hamath, and [G2532] the [G3588] king of Arpad, and [G2532] the [G3588] king of the [G3588] city [G4172] of Sepharvaim -- Hena and [G2532] Ivah?
14: And [G2532] Hezekiah took [G2983] the [G3588] scrolls from out of [G1537] hand [G5495] of the [G3588] word-conveyers (messengers) ' and [G2532] read them [G1473]. And [G2532] he went up into [G1519] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] unrolled them [G1473] Hezekiah] before [G1726] Boss '[G2962].
15: And [G2532] Hezekiah prayed [G4336] the [G3588] to [G4314] Boss '[G2962], saying [G3004], O Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel, the [G3588] [one] sitting [G2521] upon [G1909] the [G3588] cherubim [G5502], you [G1473] are the [G3588] God '[G2316] alone [G3441] among [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] kingdoms of the [G3588] land '[G1093]. You [G1473] made [G4160] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] and [G2532] the [G3588] land '[G1093].
16: Lean [G2827], O Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] your ear [G3775][G1473], and [G2532] hear ! Open , O Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473], and [G2532] look [at] [G1492]! And [G2532] hear the [G3588] words [G3056] of Sennacherib! which [G3739] he sent to berate [G3679] living God '[G2316][G2198].
17: For [G3754] truth , O Boss '[G2962], made desolate [G2049] kings of Assyrians] the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588]ir land '[G1093][G1473],
18: and [G2532] put [G1325] the [G3588]ir gods '[G2316][G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] fire [G4442], for [G3754] not [G3756] gods '[G2316] they are , but only works [G2041] of hands [G5495] of men -- wood [G3586] and [G2532] stone [G3037]. And [G2532] they destroyed them [G1473].
19: And [G2532] now [G3568], O Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473], deliver [G4982] us [G1473] from out of [G1537] his hand [G5495][G1473]! And [G2532] they will know [G1097] in all [G3956] the [G3588] kingdoms of the [G3588] land '[G1093] that [G3754] you [G1473] are Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] alone [G3441].
20: And [G2532] sent Isaiah son [G5207] of Amoz] to [G4314] Hezekiah, saying [G3004], Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel, I heard what [G3739] you pray for [G4336] to [G4314] me [G1473] concerning [G4012] Sennacherib king of Assyrians.
21: This [is [G3778] the [G3588] word [G3056] which [G3739] spoke [G2980] Boss '[G2962] against [G4314] him [G1473], treats you with contempt [G1847][G1473] and [G2532] sneers at [G3456] you [G1473] virgin [G3933] daughter [G2364] of Zion]. Over [G1909] you [G1473] her head [G2776][G1473] shakes [G2795] daughter [G2364] of Jerusalem].
22: Whom have [G5100] you berated [G3679] and [G2532] blasphemed ? And [G2532] against [G1909] whom have [G5100] you raised up [G5312] the [G3588] your voice [G5456][G1473], and [G2532] lifted into [G1519] height [G5311] the [G3588] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473]? [even] against [G1519] the [G3588] holy [one of the [G3588] Israel.
23: By [G1722] hand [G5495] of your word-conveyers (messengers) '[G1473] you have berated [G3679] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] said [G2036], By [G1722] the [G3588] multitude [G4128] of the [G3588] my chariots [G1473] I [G1473] went up into [G1519] height [G5311] of raised-places (mountains) '[G3735], sides [G3382] of the [G3588] Lebanon, and [G2532] I felled [G2875] the [G3588] greatness [G3174] of the [G3588] his cedar [G2748][G1473], the [G3588] chosen [G1588] cypresses of him '[G1473], and [G2532] I came [G2064] in [G1519] midst [G3319] of grove of Carmel.
24: I [G1473] cooled [myself [G5594] and [G2532] drank [G4095] waters [G5204] alien ; and [G2532] I made quite desolate with the [G3588] sole [G2487] of the [G3588] my feet [G4228][G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] rivers [G4215] of citadel [G4042].
25: Heard you not [G3756] that [G3754] far off [G3113] I [G1473] made [G4160] her [G1473]? From [G1537] days [G2250] ancient I formed [G4111] her [G1473], and [G2532] now [G3568] I conveyed ' her [G1473]. And [G2532] she became [G1096] for [G1519] haughtiness resettlements of combative cities [G4172] of fortified .
26: And [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G1774] in [G1722] them [G1473] weakened in the [G3588] hand [G5495]. They were alarmed and [G2532] were disgraced [G2617]. They became [G1096] as [G5613] grass [G5528] of field , and [G2532] [as the] green [G5515] pasturage [G1008]; as [G5613] tender shoots [G5514] [growing on] roofs [G1430], and [G2532] trampled before standing [G2476].
27: And [G2532] of the [G3588] your sitting-down [G2515][G1473], and [G2532] of the [G3588] your exiting [G1841][G1473], and [G2532] of the [G3588] your entering [G1529][G1473], and [G2532] of the [G3588] your rage [G2372][G1473] against [G1909] me [G1473] I knew [G1097].
28: On account of [G1223] the [G3588] your being provoked to anger [G3710][G1473] against [G1909] me [G1473], that [G2532] the [G3588] your indulgence [G4764][G1473] went up to [G1722] the [G3588] my ears [G3775][G1473], and [G2532] I will put [G5087] the [G3588] my hook [G1473] in [G1519] the [G3588] your nostrils [G1473], and [G2532] bits [G5469] in [G1722] the [G3588] your lips [G5491][G1473], and [G2532] I will return you [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598] which [G3739] you came [G2064] by [G1722] it [G1473].
29: And [G2532] this [is [G3778] to you [G1473] the [G3588] sign [G4592]. You will eat [G2068] this [G3778] the [G3588] year [G1763] [the things grown] by themselves , and [G2532] in [G1722] in the [G3588] year [G2094] the [G3588] second [G1208] the [things] [G3588] rising up , and [G2532] the [G3588] year [G2094] the [G3588] third [G5154] you will sow [G4687], and [G2532] you will reap , and [G2532] you will plant [G5452] vineyards , and [G2532] you will eat [G2068] the [G3588]ir fruit [G2590][G1473].
30: And [G2532] he will add to [G4369] the [G3588] [one] being preserved [G1295] of house [G3624] of Judah, the [G3588] [one] being left behind [G5275] as a root [G4491] below [G2736]. And [G2532] he will produce [G4160] fruit [G2590] upward .
31: For [G3754] from out of [G1537] Jerusalem will come forth [G1831] a vestige [G2640], and [G2532] one rescuing from out of [G1537] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] Zion. the [G3588] zeal [G2205] of Boss '[G2962] of for the [G3588]ces [G1411] will do [G4160] this [G3778].
32: Therefore [G1223][G3778] thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962] to [G4314] king of Assyrians, He will not [G3756] enter [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] this city [G4172][G3778], and [G2532] he will not [G3756] shoot an arrow there [G1563], and [G2532] he will not [G3756] anticipate [G4399] it [G1473] with a shield [G2375], nor [G3761] will he pour out [dirt [G1632] against [G1909] it [G1473] [for a seige] mound .
33: By the [G3588] way [G3598] in which [G3739] he came [G2064] by [G1722] it [G1473], he will return ; and [G2532] into [G1519] the [G3588] this city [G4172][G3778] he will not [G3756] enter [G1525], says [G5346] Boss '[G2962].
34: And [G2532] I will shield over [G5228] the [G3588] this city [G4172][G3778] the [G3588] to deliver [G4982] her [G1473] because of [G1223] myself [G1473], and [G2532] because of [G1223] David the [G3588] my servant [G1401][G1473].
35: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] at [G2193] night [G3571], that [G2532] there came forth [G1831] a word-conveyer (messenger) ' of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] he struck [G3960] among [G1722] the [G3588] camp [G3925] of the [G3588] Assyrians a hundred [G1540] eighty-five thousand [G5505]. And [G2532] they rose early [G3719] in the morning [G4404], and [G2532] look [G2400], all [G3956] bodies [G4983] dead [G3498].
36: And [G2532] departed and [G2532] returned and [G2532] went [G4198] Sennacherib king of Assyrians], and [G2532] he lived [G3611] in [G1722] Nineveh.
37: And [G2532] it came to pass [when [G1096] he [G1473] did obeisance [G4352] in [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Nisroch the [G3588] his god [G2316][G1473], Adrammelech and [G2532] Sharezer the [G3588] his sons [G5207][G1473] struck [G3960] him [G1473] with [G1722] a sword [G3162]; and [G2532] they [G1473] escaped [G4982] into [G1519] land '[G1093] of Ararat. And [G2532] reigned Esar-haddon the [G3588] son [G5207] of him [G1473] instead of him [G1473].
