And [G2532] there was [G1096] a man , a Levite, sojourning [G3939] on [G1722] sides [G3382] of raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] Ephraim. And [G2532] he took [G2983] to himself [G1438] a woman [G1135] concubine from Beth-lehem Judah.

And [G2532] provoked him to anger [G3710][G1473] the [G3588] his concubine [G1473], and [G2532] she went forth from him [G1473] unto [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] her father [G3962][G1473] in [G1519] Beth-lehem Judah, and [G2532] she was [G1096] there [G1563] days [G2250] of four months [G5072].

And [G2532] rose up the [G3588] her husband [G1473] and [G2532] went [G4198] after her [G1473], the [G3588] to speak [G2980] unto [G1909] the [G3588] her heart [G2588][G1473], the [G3588] to reconcile [G1259] her [G1473]; and [G2532] the [G3588] his servant [G3808][G1473] [was] with [G3326] him [G1473], and [G2532] a pair [G2201] of beasts of burden [G5268]. And [G2532] he went [G4198] unto [G2193] house [G3624] of her father [G3962][G1473]. And [G2532] looked [at] [G1492] him [G1473] the [G3588] father [G3962] of the [G3588] young woman , and [G2532] [was] at hand [G3918] for [G1519] meeting him [G1473].

And [G2532] brought him in [G1521][G1473] the [G3588] his father-in-law [G1473], the [G3588] father [G3962] of the [G3588] young woman , and [G2532] he sat down [G2523] with [G3326] him [G1473] three [G5140] days [G2250]. And [G2532] they ate [G2068] and [G2532] drank [G4095] and [G2532] slept there [G1563].

And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] on the [G3588] day [G2250] the [G3588] fourth [G5067], that [G2532] they rose early [G3719] in the morning [G4404], and [G2532] he rose up the [G3588] to depart . And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] father [G3962] of the [G3588] young woman to [G4314] the [G3588] his son-in-law [G3566][G1473], Support [G4741] the [G3588] your heart [G2588][G1473] with a piece [G2801] of bread , and [G2532] after [G3326] this [G3778] go [G4198]!

And [G2532] he sat down [G2523], and [G2532] ate [G2068] both together [G1909] the [G3588][G1473], and [G2532] drank [G4095]. And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] father [G3962] of the [G3588] young woman to [G4314] the [G3588] man , For a beginning , lodge and [G2532] do good [to the [G3588] your heart [G2588][G1473]!

And [G2532] rose up the [G3588] man to depart . And [G2532] forced him [G1473] the [G3588] his father-in-law [G1473], and [G2532] he sat down [G2523] and [G2532] lodged there [G1563].

And [G2532] he rose early [G3719] in the morning [G4404] on the [G3588] day [G2250] the [G3588] fifth [G3991] the [G3588] to depart . And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] father [G3962] of the [G3588] young woman , Support [G4741] indeed [G1211] the [G3588] your heart [G2588][G1473] with bread , and [G2532] soldier [G4754] until [G2193] should decline [G2827] the [G3588] day [G2250]! And [G2532] ate [G2068] and [G2532] drank [G4095] both .

And [G2532] rose up the [G3588] man the [G3588] to go , he [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] his concubine [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his servant [G3808][G1473]. And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] the [G3588] his father-in-law [G1473], the [G3588] father [G3962] of the [G3588] young woman , look [G2400], indeed [G1211] is declined [G2827] the [G3588] day [G2250] into [G1519] evening [G2073], lodge here [G5602] and [G2532] do good [to the [G3588] your heart [G2588][G1473], and [G2532] rise early [G3719] tomorrow unto [G1519] the [G3588] way [G3598] of you [G1473], and [G2532] you will depart unto [G1519] the [G3588] your tent [G4638][G1473]!

And [G2532] did not want [G3756][G2309] the [G3588] man to lodge . And [G2532] he rose up and [G2532] went forth and [G2532] came [G3854] unto [G2193] before Jebus, this [G3778] is Jerusalem, and [G2532] with [G3326] him [G1473] [were] a pair [G2201] of beasts of burden [G5268] being saddled , and [G2532] the [G3588] his concubine [G1473] with [G3326] him [G1473].

[And] they [G1473] [were] near [G2596] Jebus, and [G2532] the [G3588] day [G2250] declined [G2827] exceedingly [G4970]. And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] servant [G3808] to [G4314] the [G3588] his boss [G2962][G1473], Come [G1204] please [G1211], even [G2532] we should turn aside [G1578] into [G1519] the [G3588] city [G4172] of the [G3588] Jebusites this [G3778], and [G2532] lodge in [G1722] it [G1473].

And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473] the [G3588] his boss [G2962][G1473], In no way will we turn aside [G1578] into [G1519] city [G4172] an alien , in [G1722] which [G3739] there is no [one [G3756] from [G1537] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel; even [G2532] we will go by [G3928] unto [G2193] Gibeah.

And [G2532] he said [G2036] [to the [G3588] his servant [G3808][G1473], Come [G1204], for [G2532] we should approach [G1448] one [G1520] of the [G3588] places [G5117], and [G2532] we should lodge in [G1722] Gibeah or [G2228] in [G1722] Ramah.

And [G2532] they went by [G3928], and [G2532] went down [G1416] on them [G1473] the [G3588] sun [G2246] being next [G2192] the [G3588] to Gibeah, which [G3739] is of the [G3588] Benjamin.

And [G2532] they turned aside [G1578] there [G1563] the [G3588] to enter [G1525] to rest up [G2647] in [G1722] Gibeah. And [G2532] he entered [G1525] and [G2532] sat down [G2523] in [G1722] the [G3588] square [G4113] of the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] there is no [G3756] man the [G3588] bringing [G4863] them [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3624] the [G3588] to rest up [G2647].

And [G2532] look [G2400], man an old [G4246] entered [G1525] from the [G3588] his works [G2041][G1473] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] field at evening [G2073], and [G2532] the [G3588] man [was] from [G1537] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] Ephraim, and [G2532] he [G1473] sojourned [G3939] in [G1722] Gibeah; and [G2532] the [G3588] men of the [G3588] place [G5117] [were] sons [G5207] of Benjamin.

And [G2532] he looked up the [G3588] with his eyes [G3788][G1473], and [G2532] he saw [G1492] the [G3588] man , the [G3588] [one] journeying in [G1722] the [G3588] square [G4113] of the [G3588] city [G4172]. And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] man the [G3588] old [G4246], Where [G4226] [are] you going [G4198], and [G2532] from what place [G4159] come you [G2064]?

And [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473], We are passing over [G1224][G1473] from [G1537] Beth-lehem of Judah unto [G2193] side [G3382] of raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] Ephraim. from there [G1564] And [G1161] I [G1473] am , and [G2532] I went [G4198] unto [G2193] Beth-lehem of Judah, and [G2532] to [G1519] the [G3588] my house [G3624][G1473] I [G1473] run ; but [G2532] there is no [G3756] man bringing [G4863] me [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] a house [G3614].

And [G2532] indeed [G1065] straw and [G2532] fodder [G5527] exists [G5224] for the [G3588] our donkeys [G3688][G1473], and [G2532] indeed [G1065] bread and [G2532] wine [G3631] exists [G5224] to me [G1473], and [G2532] to the [G3588] maidservant [G3814], and [G2532] to the [G3588] servant [G3495]; [and to the [G3588] your servants [G1401][G1473] there is no [G3756] deficiency [G5303] of any [G3956] thing [G4229].

And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] man the [G3588] old [G4246], Peace [G1515] to you [G1473]; only [let [G4133] any [G3956] the [G3588] deficiency [G5303] of yours [G1473] [be] upon [G1909] me [G1473], only [G4133] in [G1722] the [G3588] square [G4113] you should not [G3361] rest up [G2647].

And [G2532] he brought him [G1521][G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] his house [G3614][G1473], and [G2532] camped the [G3588] his beasts of burden [G5268][G1473]. And [G2532] they [G1473] washed [G3538] the [G3588]ir feet [G4228][G1473], and [G2532] they ate [G2068] and [G2532] drank [G4095].

And they [G1473][G1161] were doing good the [G3588]ir heart [G2588][G1473]; and [G2532] look [G2400], the [G3588] men of the [G3588] city [G4172], sons [G5207] of lawbreakers , encircled [G4033] the [G3588] house [G3614], and [G2532] knocked [G2925] upon [G1909] the [G3588] door [G2374]; and [G2532] they said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] man , the [G3588] boss [G2962] of the [G3588] house [G3614], the [G3588] old man [G4246], saying [G3004], Lead out [G1806] the [G3588] man the [G3588] entering [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] your house [G3614][G1473], that [G2443] we should know [G1097] him [G1473].

And [G2532] came forth [G1831] to [G4314] them [G1473] the [G3588] man , the [G3588] boss [G2962] of the [G3588] house [G3624], and [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] them [G1473], By no means [G3365], my brothers [G1473], you should not do evil [G3361] indeed [G1211] with [G3326] the [G3588] entering [G1525] the [G3588] this man [G3778] into [G1519] the [G3588] my house [G3614][G1473]; you should not [G3361] do [G4160] the [G3588] this folly [G3778].

look [G2400], my daughter [G2364][G1473] the [G3588] virgin [G3933], and [G2532] the [G3588] his concubine [G1473]; and I will bring [G1806][G1161] them [G1473], and [G2532] you humble [G5013] them [G1473], and [G2532] do [G4160] to them [G1473] the [G3588] good [thing] in [G1722] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473], but [G2532] the [G3588] to this man [G3778] you should not do [G3361][G4160] the [G3588] thing [G4487] of the [G3588] this folly [G3778].

And [G2532] did not [G3756] want [G2309] the [G3588] men to hear him [G1473]. And [G2532] took hold [G1949] the [G3588] man the [G3588] of his concubine [G1473], and [G2532] led [G1806] her [G1473] to [G4314] them [G1473] outside [G1854]. And [G2532] they knew [G1097] her [G1473], and [G2532] sported [G1702] with her [G1473] entire [G3650] the [G3588] night [G3571] until [G2193] the morning [G4404]. And [G2532] they sent [G1821] her [G1473] at the same time the [G3588] went up the [G3588] dawn [G3722].

And [G2532] came [G2064] the [G3588] woman [G1135] in the morning [G4404], and [G2532] fell [G4098] by [G3844] the [G3588] door [G2374] of the [G3588] vestibule [G4440] of the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] man of whom [G3739] was the [G3588] her boss [G2962][G1473] there [G1563], until [G2193] of which [time] [G3739] light shown through .

And [G2532] rose up the [G3588] her boss [G2962][G1473] in the morning [G4404], and [G2532] he opened the [G3588] doors [G2374] of the [G3588] house [G3624], and [G2532] he came forth [G1831] the [G3588] to depart into [G1519] the [G3588] his way [G3598][G1473]. And [G2532] look [G2400], the [G3588] woman [G1135], the [G3588] his concubine [G1473], [was] fallen [G4098] by [G3844] the [G3588] door [G2374] of the [G3588] house [G3624], and [G2532] the [G3588] her hands [G5495][G1473] [were] upon [G1909] the [G3588] threshold .

And [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] her [G1473], Rise up , for [G2532] we should go forth ! And [G2532] she did not [G3756] answer to him [G1473] for she had died [G2348]. And [G2532] he lifted her [G1473] upon [G1909] the [G3588] beast of burden [G5268], and [G2532] rose up the [G3588] man and [G2532] went forth to [G1519] the [G3588] his place [G5117][G1473].

And [G2532] he entered [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473], and [G2532] he took [G2983] the [G3588] knife [G3162], and [G2532] took hold of [G1949] the [G3588] his concubine [G1473], and [G2532] dismembered her [G1473] according to [G2596] the [G3588] her bones [G3747][G1473] into [G1519] twelve [G1427] portions [G3310], and [G2532] he sent them [G1473] unto [G1519] all [G3956] the [G3588] tribes [G5443] of Israel.

And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] seeing [G3708] said [G3004], Neither [G3777] happened [G1096], nor [G3777] was thus seen [G3708][G3779] from the [G3588] days [G2250] of ascending of sons [G5207] of Israel from out of [G1537] land '[G1093] of Egypt until [G2193] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778]. Appoint [G5087] indeed [G1211] to yourselves [G1438] concerning [G4012] her [G1473] counsel [G1012] and [G2532] speak [G2980]!
