Jeremiah Chapter 23 - | Early Church Bible

1: O [G5599] the [G3588] shepherds [G4166], the [G3588] [ones] scattering [G1287] and [G2532] destroying the [G3588] sheep [G4263] of the [G3588] my pasture [G3542][G1473].
2: On account of [G1223] this [G3778], thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel, against [G1909] the [G3588] shepherds [G4166], the [G3588] [ones] tending [G4165] the [G3588] people [G2992] of me [G1473]; You [G1473] scattered [G1287] the [G3588] sheep [G4263] of me [G1473], and [G2532] pushed them out [G1856][G1473], and [G2532] did not [G3756] visit [G1980] them [G1473]. Look [G2400], I [G1473] will take vengeance [G1556] upon [G1909] you [G1473], against [G2596] the [G3588] wicked [G4190] practices your [G1473].
3: And [G2532] I [G1473] will take in [G1523] the [G3588] [ones] remaining [G2645] of the [G3588] my people [G2992][G1473] upon all [G3956] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of which [place] [G3739] I pushed them [G1856][G1473] there [G1563]; and [G2532] I will place [G2525] them [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588]ir pasture [G3542][G1473], and [G2532] they will grow and [G2532] be multiplied [G4129].
4: And [G2532] I will raise up to them [G1473] shepherds [G4166][G3739] tending [G4165] them [G1473], and [G2532] they will not [G3756] be fearful [G5399] any more [G2089], nor [G3761] will they be terrified [G4422], nor [G3761] will they be seeking after [G1567], says [G3004] Boss '[G2962].
5: look [G2400], days [G2250] come [G2064], says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] I will raise up [to the [G3588] David dawn a just [G1342]; and [G2532] will reign a king , and [G2532] will perceive [G4920], and [G2532] will execute [G4160] equity [G2917] and [G2532] righteousness [G1343] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093].
6: In [G1722] the [G3588] his days [G2250][G1473] Judah will be delivered [G4982], and [G2532] Israel will encamp [G2681] complying [G3982]. And [G2532] this [G3778] the [G3588] [is] name [G3686] of him [G1473], which [G3739] will call [G2564] him [G1473] Boss '[G2962] -- Josedek.
7: On account of [G1223] this [G3778], look [G2400], days [G2250] come [G2064], says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] they will not [G3756] say [G2046] any longer [G2089], As BOSS lives [G2198][G2962], who [G3739] led the [G3588] house [G3624] of Israel from out of [G1537] land '[G1093] of Egypt.
8: But as BOSS lives [G2198][G2962], who [G3739] led up and [G2532] gathered [G4863] all together the [G3588] seed [G4690] of Israel from land '[G1093] of north [G1005], and [G2532] from all [G3956] the [G3588] places [G5561] of which [G3739] they were pushed [G1856] there [G1563]; and [G2532] he restored them [G1473] unto [G1519] the [G3588]ir land '[G1093][G1473].
9: In [G1722] the [G3588] prophets [G4396] was broken [G4937] the [G3588] my heart [G2588][G1473]; in [G1722] me [G1473] were shaken [G4531] all [G3956] the [G3588] my bones [G3747][G1473]; I became [G1096] as [G5613] a man being broken [G4937], and [G2532] as [G5613] a man constrained [G4912] by wine [G3631], from countenance [G4383] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] from countenance [G4383] of beauty [G2143] of his glory [G1391][G1473].
10: For [G3754] of adulterers [G3432] is full [G4130] the [G3588] land '[G1093]. For [G3754] from countenance [G4383] of these [things] [G3778] mourned [G3996] the [G3588] land '[G1093]; were dried up [G3583] the [G3588] pastures [G3542] of the [G3588] wilderness [G2048]; and [G2532] became [G1096] the [G3588]ir race [G1408][G1473] wicked [G4190], and [G2532] the [G3588]ir strength [G2479][G1473] not [G3756] thus [G3779].
11: For [G3754] priest [G2409] and [G2532] prophet [G4396] were tainted [G3435]; and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] my house [G3624][G1473] I saw [G1492] their wickedness [G4189][G1473], says [G3004] Boss '[G2962].
12: On account of [G1223] this [G3778] let become [G1096] the [G3588]ir way [G3598][G1473] to them [G1473] for [G1519] a slip in [G1722] dimness [G1105]! And [G2532] they will be tripped up and [G2532] will fall [G4098] in [G1722] it [G1473]. Because [G1360] I will bring [G1863] upon [G1909] them [G1473] bad [things] [G2556] in [G1722] year [G1763] of their visitation [G1473], says [G3004] Boss '[G2962].
13: And [G2532] among [G1722] the [G3588] prophets [G4396] of Samaria I looked [at] [G1492] violations of the laws ; they prophesied [G4395] by [G1909] Baal, and [G2532] they misled [G4105] the [G3588] people [G2992] of me [G1473] the [G3588] Israel.
14: And [G2532] among [G1722] the [G3588] prophets [G4396] of Jerusalem I have seen [G3708] causes for shuddering -- committing adultery [G3429] and [G2532] going [G4198] by [G1722] lies [G5579], and [G2532] taking hold of hands [G5495] of wicked ones [G4190] the [G3588] to not [G3361] be turned [for] each [G1538] from the [G3588] way [G3598] of him '[G1473] the [G3588] wicked [G4190]. They became [G1096] to me [G1473] all [G3956] as [G5613] Sodom, and [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in it [G1473] as [G5618] Gomorrah.
15: On account of [G1223] this [G3778], thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962] of for the [G3588]ces [G1411] to [G4314] the [G3588] prophets [G4396]; look [G2400], I [G1473] will feed them [G5595][G1473] grief [G3601], and [G2532] I will give them to drink [G4222][G1473] water [G5204] bitter [G4089]; for [G3754] from the [G3588] prophets [G4396] of Jerusalem came forth [G1831] contamination [G3436] to all [G3956] the [G3588] land '[G1093].
16: Thus [G3779] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] almighty [G3841], Do not [G3361] hearken to the [G3588] words [G3056] of the [G3588] prophets [G4396]! of the [G3588] [ones] prophesying [G4395] to you [G1473]. For [G3754] they frame in folly [G3154] for themselves [G1438] a vision [G3706]. From their heart [G2588][G1473] they speak [G2980], and [G2532] not [G3756] from mouth [G4750] of Boss '[G2962].
17: They say [G3004] to the [G3588] [ones] thrusting away the [G3588] word [G3056] of Boss '[G2962], Peace [G1515] will be to you [G1473]; and [G2532] to all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] going [G4198] the [G3588] by their wants [G2307][G1473], and [G2532] to all [G3956] the [G3588] going [G4198] in [G1722] a delusion [G4106] of his heart [G2588][G1473], will not come [G3756][G2240] upon [G1909] you [G1473] Evils [G2556].
18: For [G3754] who [G5100] stood [G2476] in [G1722] garrison of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] looked [at] [G1492] and [G2532] heard the [G3588] word [G3056] of him [G1473]? Who [G5100] gave ear [G1801] and [G2532] heard ?
19: look [G2400], a quaking [G4578] by [G3844] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] anger [G3709] will go forth [G1607] in [G1519] a rumbling . contracting [G4962] upon [G1909] the [G3588] impious It will come [G2240].
20: And [G2532] will not turn away [G3756] the [G3588] rage [G2372] [of the] Boss '[G2962] until [G2193] whenever he should execute [G4160] it [G1473], and [G2532] until [G2193] whenever he should establish [G2476] it [G1473] according to enterprise of his heart [G2588][G1473]. At [G1909] latter end [G2078] of the [G3588] days [G2250] they will comprehend [G3539] them [G1473].
21: I did not [G3756] send the [G3588] [false] prophets [G4396], yet [G2532] they [G1473] ran [G5143]. I did not speak [G3756][G2980] to [G4314] them [G1473], and [G2532] they [G1473] prophesied [G4395].
22: And [G2532] if [G1487] they stood [G2476] with [G1722] my support [G5287][G1473], and [G2532] they hearkened the [G3588] to my words [G3056][G1473], then [G2532] the [G3588] people [G2992] of me [G1473] would have turned from the [G3588] wicked [G4190] practices their [G1473].
23: a God '[G2316] being near [G1448] I [G1473] am , says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] not [G3780] a God '[G2316] at a distance [G4207].
24: will [G1487] any be hid [G2928][G5100] in [G1722] secret , and [G2532] I [G1473] not [G3756] see [G3708] him [G1473], says [G3004] BOSS, [no[G2962]. Is it not that [G3378] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] and [G2532] the [G3588] land '[G1093] I [G1473] will fill [G4137], says [G3004] Boss '[G2962]?
25: I heard what [G3739] speak [G2980] the [G3588] prophets [G4396] who [G3739] prophesy [G4395] by [G1909] the [G3588] name [G3686] of me [G1473] lies [G5571], saying [G3004], I dreamed [G1797] a dream [G1798].
26: For [G2193] how long [G4219] will it be in [G1722] heart [G2588] of the [G3588] prophets [G4396] the [G3588] prophesying [G4395] lies [G5571], and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588]ir prophesying [G4395][G1473] the [G3588] wants [G2307] of the [G3588]ir heart [G2588][G1473]?
27: the [ones] [G3588] devising [ways [G3049] the [G3588] to forget [G1950] the [G3588] name [G3686] of me [G1473] by [G1722] the [G3588]ir dreams [G1798][G1473], which [G3739] was described [G1334] each [G1538] to [G4314] the [G3588] neighbor [G4139] of him [G1473]; as [G2509] forgot [G1950] the [G3588]ir fathers [G3962][G1473] the [G3588] name [G3686] of me [G1473] in [service to [G1722] the [G3588] Baal.
28: The [G3588] prophet [G4396] by [G1722] which [G3739] the [G3588] dream [G1798] is , let him describe [G1334] the [G3588] his dream [G1798][G1473]! and [G2532] [the one] by [G1722] which [G3739] the [G3588] my word [is truly [G3056][G1473] with [G4314] him [G1473], let him describe [G1334] the [G3588] my word [G3056][G1473] in [G1909] truth ! What [is [G5100] the [G3588] straw to [G4314] the [G3588] grain [G4621]? Thus [are [G3779] the [G3588] my words [G3056][G1473], says [G3004] Boss '[G2962].
29: [Are] not [G3756] the [G3588] my words [G3056][G1473] as [G5618] fire [G4442] blazing , says [G3004] Boss '[G2962]? and [G2532] as [G5613] a hewing axe beating [G2875] rock [G4073]?
30: look [G2400], I [am [G1473] against [G4314] the [G3588] prophets [G4396], says [G3004] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316], the [G3588] [ones] stealing [G2813] the [G3588] my words [G3056][G1473] each [G1538] from [G3844] the [G3588] neighbor [G4139] of him [G1473].
31: look [G2400], I [am [G1473] against [G4314] the [G3588] prophets [G4396], says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] [ones] casting out [G1544] prophecies [G4394] of tongue [G1100], and [G2532] slumbering [G3573] of their own slumber [G1438].
32: look [G2400], I [am [G1473] against [G4314] the [G3588] prophets [G4396] the [G3588] prophesying [G4395] dreams [G1798] false [G5571], and [G2532] of whom [G3739] described [G1334] them [G1473], and [G2532] misled [G4105] the [G3588] people [G2992] of me [G1473] by [G1722] the [G3588]ir lies [G5579][G1473], and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588]ir delusions [G4108][G1473]; and [G2532] I [G1473] not [G3756] sent them [G1473], and [G2532] I did not [G3756] give charge [G1781] to them [G1473], and [G2532] a benefit [G5622] not [G3756] they derived [G5623] for the [G3588] this people [G2992][G3778], says [G3004] Boss '[G2962].
33: And [G2532] if [G1437] should ask [G2065] you [G1473] the [G3588] this people [G2992][G3778], or [G2228] priest [G2409], or [G2228] prophet [G4396], saying [G3004], What [is [G5100] the [G3588] concern of Boss '[G2962]? then [G2532] you will say [G2046] to them [G1473], You [G1473] are the [G3588] concern , and [G2532] I will dash you down [G1473], says [G3004] Boss '[G2962],
34: and [G2532] the [G3588] prophet [G4396], and [G2532] the [G3588] priest [G2409], and [G2532] the [G3588] people [G2992], the ones who [G3739] should say [G2036], concern of Boss '[G2962]; even [G2532] I will punish [G1556] the [G3588] that man [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473].
35: Thus [G3779] you will say [G2046] each [G1538] to [G4314] the [G3588] neighbor [G4139] of him [G1473], and [G2532] each [G1538] to [G4314] the [G3588] brother of him [G1473], What did [G5100] BOSS answer [G2962]? And [G2532] what did [G5100] BOSS speak [G2980][G2962]?
36: And [G2532] concern of Boss '[G2962] name not [G3361][G3687] again [G2089]! for [G3754] the [G3588] concern to the [G3588] man will be the [G3588] word [G3056] of him [G1473]. And [G2532] you distorted [G1612] the [G3588] words [G3056] of living God '[G2316][G2198].
37: Thus [G3779] you will say [G2046] to [G4314] the [G3588] prophet [G4396], What [G5100] spoke [G2980] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473]?
38: On account of [G1223] this [G3778], thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], Because you said [G2036] the [G3588] this word [G3056][G3778], concern of Boss '[G2962], that [G2532] I sent to [G4314] you [G1473], saying [G3004], You will not [G3756] say [G2046], concern of Boss '[G2962].
39: On account of [G1223] this [G3778], look [G2400], I [G1473] will take [G2983] and [G2532] dash you down [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] city [G4172] which [G3739] I have given [G1325] to you [G1473] and [G2532] [to the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473].
40: And [G2532] I will put [G1325] upon [G1909] you [G1473] scorn [G3680] of the term (age) ' and [G2532] dishonor of the term (age) ', which [G3748] will not be forgotten [G3756][G1950].
