Genesis Chapter 39 - | Early Church Bible

1: And Joseph [G1161] was carried down [G2702] into [G1519] Egypt. And [G2532] acquired [G2932] him [G1473] Potiphar], the [G3588] eunuch [G2135] of Pharaoh, the [G3588] chief guard , an Egyptian man , from out of [G1537] hands [G5495] of the Ishmaelites, the [G3588] [ones] that led [G2609] him [G1473] there [G1563].
2: And [G2532] BOSS was [G2962] with [G3326] Joseph. And [G2532] he was a man succeeding in [things] [G2013]. And [G2532] he was [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3624] by [G3844] the [G3588] his boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] Egyptian.
3: saw [G1492] And [G1161] the [G3588] his boss [G2962][G1473] that [G3754] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] was with [G3326] him [G1473], and [G2532] whatever as much as [G3745][G1437] he should do [G4160], Boss '[G2962] prospered the way [G2137] by [G1722] the [G3588] his hands [G5495][G1473].
4: And [G2532] Joseph found [G2147] favor [G5484] before [G1726] the [G3588] his boss [G2962][G1473]. And [G2532] he was well-pleasing [G2100] to him [G1473], and [G2532] he placed [G2525] him [G1473] over [G1909] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473]; and [G2532] all [G3956] as much as [G3745] was of him '[G1473] he gave [G1325] through [G1223] hand [G5495] of Joseph.
5: And it came to pass [G1096][G1161] after [G3326] the [G3588] placing [G2525] him [G1473] over [G1909] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473], and [G2532] over [G1909] all [G3956] as much as [G3745] was of him '[G1473], that [G2532] blessed [G2127] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] Egyptian on account of [G1223] Joseph; and [G2532] he became [G1096] a blessing [G2129] for his boss [G2962] in [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] possessions [G5224] of him [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3624], and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] his fields [G1473].
6: And [G2532] he committed to care [G2010] all [G3956] as much as [G3745] was of him '[G1473] into [G1519] hand [G5495] of Joseph. And [G2532] he did not [G3756] know [G1492] the [things] [G3588] about [G2596] his own [G1438] -- not one [thing] [G3762], except [G4133] the [G3588] bread which [G3739] he ate [G2068][G1473]. And [G2532] Joseph was good [G2570] to the [G3588] look [G1491], and [G2532] handsome [G5611] the [G3588] in appearance [G3799] -- exceedingly [G4970].
7: And [G2532] it happened [G1096] after [G3326] the [G3588]se things [G4487][G3778], and [G2532] put [G1911] the [G3588] wife [G1135] of the [G3588] his boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] her eyes [G3788][G1473] upon [G1909] Joseph. And [G2532] she said [G2036], Come to bed [G2837] with [G3326] me [G1473]!
8: But he the [G3588][G1161] [was] not [G3756] willing [G2309]. And he said [G2036][G1161] to the [G3588] wife [G1135] of the [G3588] his boss [G2962][G1473], If [G1487] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] [does] not [G3756] know [G1097] on account of [G1223] me [G1473] one thing [G3762] in [G1722] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473], and [G2532] all [G3956] as much as [G3745] is of him '[G1473] he gave [G1325] into [G1519] the [G3588] my hands [G5495][G1473],
9: and [G2532] not [G3756] exists [G5224] in [G1722] the [G3588] this house [G3614][G3778] one thing [G3762] outside [G1623] of me [G1473], nor [G3761] [is] secretly removed from me [G1473] one [thing] [G3762], besides [G4133] you [G1473], on account of [G1223] the [G3588] you [G1473] his wife [G1135][G1473] being , then [G2532] how [G4459] should I do [G4160] the [G3588] thing [G4487] the [G3588] this wicked [G4190][G3778], and [G2532] sin before [G1726] the [G3588] God '[G2316]?
10: And when [G2259][G1161] she spoke [G2980] [to the [G3588] Joseph day [G2250] by [G1537] day [G2250], and [G2532] he did not [G3756] obey [G5219] her [G1473] to sleep [G2518] with [G3326] her [G1473], the [G3588] to be intimate with her [G1473].
11: And it came to pass [G1096][G1161] on such [G5108] a [G5100] day [G2250], Joseph entered [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3614] to do [G4160] the [G3588] his works [G2041][G1473], and [G2532] no one [G3762] was the [G3588] in [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3614] inside [G2080].
12: And [G2532] she drew [G1986] him [G1473] by [his the [G3588] clothes [G2440], saying [G3004], Come to bed [G2837] with [G3326] me [G1473]! And [G2532] leaving behind [G2641] the [G3588] his clothes [G2440][G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] her hands [G5495][G1473], he fled [G5343] and [G2532] went forth [G1831] outside [G1854].
13: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] as [G5613] she saw [G1492] that [G3754] leaving behind [G2641] the [G3588] his clothes [G2440][G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] her hands [G5495][G1473], he fled [G5343] and [G2532] went forth [G1831] outside [G1854],
14: that [G2532] she called [G2564] the [ones] the [G3588] being in [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3614], and [G2532] said [G2036] to them [G1473], saying [G3004], See [G1492]! he brought in [G1521] to us [G1473] a Hebrew servant [G3816] to mock [G1702] us [G1473]. He entered [G1525] to [G4314] me [G1473], saying [G3004], Come to bed [G2837] with [G3326] me [G1473]! And [G2532] I yelled voice [G5456] a great [G3173].
15: And in [G1722][G1161] the [G3588] his hearing [G1473] that [G3754] was raised [G5312] the [G3588] my voice [G5456][G1473], and [G2532] I yelled , leaving behind [G2641] the [G3588] his clothes [G2440][G1473] by [G3844] me [G1473], he fled [G5343], and [G2532] he went forth [G1831] outside [G1854].
16: And [G2532] she left the [G3588] clothes [G2440] by [G3844] herself [G1438], until [G2193] came [G2064] the [G3588] boss [G2962] into [G1519] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473].
17: And [G2532] she spoke [G2980] to him [G1473] concerning [G2596] the [G3588]se things [G4487][G3778], saying [G3004], There entered [G1525] to [G4314] me [G1473] the [G3588] Hebrew servant [G3816] the [G3588], whom [G3739] you brought in [G1521] to [G4314] us [G1473], to mock [G1702] me [G1473]. And [G2532] he said [G2036] to me [G1473], I will come to bed [G2837] with [G3326] you [G1473].
18: But as [G5613][G1161] he heard that [G3754] I raised [G5312] the [G3588] my voice [G5456][G1473], and [G2532] I yelled , leaving behind [G2641] the [G3588] his clothes [G2440][G1473] by [G3844] me [G1473], he fled [G5343], and [G2532] went forth [G1831] outside [G1854].
19: And it happened [G1096][G1161] as [G5613] heard the [G3588] his boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] words [G4487] of the [G3588] his wife [G1135][G1473], as much as [G3745] she spoke [G2980] to [G4314] him [G1473], saying [G3004], Thus [G3779] did [G4160] to me [G1473] the [G3588] servant [G3816] of you [G1473], that [G2532] he was enraged [G2373] [with] anger [G3709].
20: And [G2532] taking [G2983] the [G3588] boss [G2962] Joseph, put [G1685] him [G1473] into [G1519] for the [G3588]tress [G3794], in [G1519] the [G3588] place [G5117] in [G1722] which [G3739] the [G3588] prisoners [G1202] of the [G3588] king were held [G2722] there [G1563] in [G1722] for the [G3588]tress [G3794].
21: And [G2532] BOSS was [G2962] with [G3326] Joseph, and [G2532] he poured down [G2708] upon him [G1473] compassion [G1656]; and [G2532] he gave [G1325] to him [G1473] favor [G5484] before [G1726] the [G3588] chief jailer .
22: And [G2532] gave [G1325] the [G3588] chief jailer the [G3588] jail [G1201] [over] to [G1223] hand [G5495] of Joseph, and [G2532] all [G3956] the [ones] the [G3588] being taken away , as many as [G3745] [were] in [G1722] the [G3588] jail [G1201], and [G2532] all [G3956] as much as [G3745] they do [G4160] there [G1563], he [G1473] was doing [G4160].
23: For not [G3756] was the [G3588] chief jailer of the [G3588] jail [G1201] knowing [anything [G1097] concerning [G1223] him [G1473] -- not one [thing] [G3762]. For all [G3956][G1063] was through [G1223] hand [G5495] of Joseph, because of [G1223] the [reason the [G3588] [G3588] Boss '[G2962] with [G3326] him [G1473] being . And [G2532] as much as [G3745] he [G1473] did [G4160], Boss '[G2962] prospered the way [G2137] in [G1722] the [G3588] his hands [G5495][G1473].
