Luke Chapter 12 - | Early Church Bible

1: In [G1722] a time when [G3739] there assembled [G1996] the [G3588] ten-thousands [G3461] of the [G3588] crowd [G3793] so as [G5620] to trample [G2662] one another , he began to say [G3004] to [G4314] the [G3588] trainees '[G3101] of him [G1473], First [G4412], take heed [G4337] to yourselves [G1438] off the [G3588] yeast [G2219] of the [G3588] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]), which [G3748] is stage-acting [G5272].
2: For nothing [G3762][G1161] is being covered [G4780] which [G3739] will not [G3756] be uncovered ; and [G2532] hidden [G2927] which [G3739] will not [G3756] be made known [G1097].
3: Because as much as [G3745] in [G1722] the [G3588] darkness [G4653] you should say [G2036], in [G1722] the [G3588] light [G5457] it will be heard ; and [G2532] what [G3739] in [G4314] the [G3588] ear [G3775] you spoke [G2980] in [G1722] the [G3588] inner chambers [G5009], it will be proclaimed [G2784] upon [G1909] the [G3588] roofs [G1430].
4: And I say [G3004][G1161] to you [G1473], [to the [G3588] my friends [G5384][G1473], [Do] not [G3361] fear [G5399] from the [G3588] [ones] killing the [G3588] body [G4983]! and [G2532] after [G3326] these [things] [G3778] having nothing [G3361][G2192] more extra [G4053][G5100] to do [G4160].
5: But I will plainly show [G5263][G1161] to you [G1473] who [G5100] you should fear [G5399]. Fear [G5399] the [G3588] [one] , after [G3326] the [G3588] killing , authority [G1849] having [G2192] to put [G1685] into [G1519] the [G3588] Gehenna [G1067]. Yes [G3483], I say [G3004] to you [G1473], this one [G3778] fear [G5399]!
6: Are not [G3780] five [G4002] sparrows [G4765] sold [G4453] assarion [for] two [G1417], and [G2532] one [G1520] of [G1537] them [G1473] not [G3756] is forgotten [G1950] before [G1799] the [G3588] God '[G2316]?
7: But even [G2532] the [G3588] hairs [G2359] of the [G3588] your head [G2776][G1473] have all [G3956] been counted . Do not [G3361] then [G3767] fear [G5399]! from many [G4183] sparrows [G4765] you differ [G1308][G1473].
8: But I say [G3004][G1161] to you [G1473], Every one [G3956] who [G3739] ever should make acknowledgement [G3670] in [G1722] me [G1473] before [G1715] the [G3588] men , also [G2532] the [G3588] son [G5207] of the [G3588] man will make acknowledgement [G3670] in [G1722] him [G1473] before [G1715] the [G3588] word-conveyers (messengers) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316].
9: But the [G3588] [one] [G1161] denying me [G1473] before [G1799] the [G3588] men , will be totally rejected before [G1799] the [G3588] word-conveyers (messengers) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316].
10: And [G2532] every one [G3956] who [G3739] will say [G2046] a word [G3056] against [G1519] the [G3588] son [G5207] of the [G3588] man , it will be forgiven him [G1473]; but to the [G3588] [one] [G1161] against [G1519] the [G3588] pure ' wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] blaspheming , it will not [G3756] be forgiven .
11: And whenever [G3752][G1161] they should bring [G4374] you [G1473] unto [G1909] the [G3588] synagogues [G4864], and [G2532] the [G3588] rulers , and [G2532] the [G3588] authorities [G1849], be not [G3361] anxious [G3309]! how [G4459] or [G2228] what [G5100] you should plead or [G2228] what [G5100] you should say [G2036].
12: For the [G3588][G1063] pure ' wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] will teach [G1321] you [G1473] in [G1722] that same [G1473] the [G3588] hour [G5610] what [G3739] is necessary [G1163] to say [G2036].
13: And said [G2036][G1161] a certain one [G5100] to him [G1473] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] crowd [G3793], Teacher [G1320] ["Rabbi [G4461]" John 1:38], tell [G2036] [to the [G3588] my brother [G1473] to portion [G3307] with [G3326] me [G1473] the [G3588] inheritance [G2817].
14: And he the [G3588][G1161] said [G2036] to him [G1473], Man , who [G5100] ordained me [G1473][G2525] magistrate [G1348] or [G2228] apportioner [G3312] for [G1909] you [G1473]?
15: And he said [G2036][G1161] to [G4314] them [G1473], See [G3708] and [G2532] guard [G5442] from the [G3588] desire for wealth [G4124]! for [G3754] not [G3756] in [G1722] the [G3588] abundance [G4052] to anyone [G5100] the [G3588] his life [G2222][G1473] is of [G1537] the [G3588] possessions [G5224] of him [G1473].
16: And he spoke [G2036][G1161] a paralell '[G3850] to [G4314] them [G1473], saying [G3004], man a certain [G5100] rich [G4145] bore well [G2164] the [G3588] place of [G5561].
17: And [G2532] he reasoned [G1260] in [G1722] himself [G1438], saying [G3004], What [G5100] will I do [G4160], for [G3754] I do not have [G3756][G2192] [a place] where [G4226] to gather up [G4863] the [G3588] my fruits [G2590][G1473]?
18: And [G2532] he said [G2036], This [G3778] I will do [G4160]; I will demolish [G2507] my [G1473] the [G3588] storehouses , and [G2532] greater [G3173] I will build [G3618]; and [G2532] I will gather [G4863] there [G1563] all [G3956] the [G3588] my produce [G1081][G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] my good [things] [G1473].
19: And [G2532] I will say [G2046] [to the [G3588] soul [G5590] of me [G1473], Soul [G5590], you have [G2192] many [G4183] good [things] laid up [G2749] for [G1519] years [G2094] many [G4183]. Rest , eat [G2068], drink [G4095], be glad [G2165]!
20: said [G2036] But [G1161] to him [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316], Fool , this [G3778] the [G3588] night [G3571] the [G3588] your soul [G5590][G1473] will be exacted from you [G1473]; and what [G3739][G1161] you prepare [G2090], to whom [G5100] will it be ?
21: Thus [G3779] the [G3588] [one] treasuring up [G2343] for himself [G1438], and [G2532] not [G3361] unto [G1519] God '[G2316] being rich [G4147].
22: And he said [G2036][G1161] to [G4314] the [G3588] trainees '[G3101] of him [G1473], Because of [G1223] this [G3778] I say to you [G1473][G3004], not [G3361] Let be anxious [G3309] the [G3588] life [G5590] your [G1473] in what [G5100] you should eat [G2068], nor [G3366] the [G3588] body [G4983] in what [G5100] you should put on [G1746]!
23: The [G3588] life [G5590] is more than [G4183] the [G3588] nourishment [G5160], and [G2532] the [G3588] body [G4983] [more than the [G3588] a garment [G1742].
24: Contemplate [G2657] the [G3588] crows [G2876]! for [G3754] they sow not [G3756][G4687], nor [G3761] reap [G2325], to the ones which [G3739] there is no [G3756] storeroom [G5009] nor [G3761] storehouse ; and [G2532] the [G3588] God '[G2316] maintains [G5142] them [G1473]. How much [G4214] more [G3123] you [G1473] differ [G1308] from the [G3588] birds [G4071]?
25: But who [G5100][G1161] of [G1537] you [G1473] being anxious [G3309] is able [G1410] to add [G4369] unto [G1909] the [G3588] his stature [G2244][G1473] cubit [G4083] one [G1520]?
26: If [G1487] then [G3767] neither [G3777] least [thing] [G1646] you are able [G1410], why [G5100] concerning [G4012] the [G3588] rest [G3062] are you anxious [G3309]?
27: Contemplate [G2657] the [G3588] lilies [G2918], how [G4459] they grow ! it labors not [G3756][G2872], nor [G3761] spins [G3514]; but I say [G3004][G1161] to you [G1473], not even [G3761] Solomon in [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] glory [G1391] of him [G1473] was clothed [G4016] as [G5613] one [G1520] of these [G3778].
28: But if [G1487][G1161] the [G3588] grass [G5528] in [G1722] the [G3588] field today [G4594] being , and [G2532] tomorrow into [G1519] oven [G2823] is being thrown , the [G3588] [one] God so [G2316][G3779] clothes ; how much [G4214] more [G3123] you [G1473], O ones of little belief [G3640]?
29: And [G2532] you [G1473], do not [G3361] seek [G2212] what [G5100] you should eat [G2068], or [G2228] what [G5100] you should drink [G4095], and [G2532] do not [G3361] be raised up high [G3349]!
30: For these [things] [G3778][G1063] all [G3956] the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] of the [G3588] arrangement '[G2889] seek anxiously [G1934]; but your [G1473][G1161] the [G3588] father [G3962] knows [G1492] that [G3754] you need [G5535] these [G3778].
31: Furthermore [G4133], seek [G2212] the [G3588] government ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316]! and [G2532] all these [things] [G3778][G3956] will be added [G4369] to you [G1473].
32: [Do] not [G3361] fear [G5399] the [G3588] small [G3397] flock [G4168]! for [G3754] thinks well [G2106] the [G3588] father [G3962] of you [G1473] to give [G1325] to you [G1473] the [G3588] government '.
33: Sell [G4453] the [G3588] your possessions [G5224][G1473], and [G2532] give [G1325] charity [G1654]! Make [G4160] to yourselves [G1438] bags not [G3361] growing old [G3822]! a treasure [G2344] unceasing in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772], where [G3699] thief [G2812] will not [G3756] approach [G1448] nor [G3761] moth [G4597] ruin [G1311].
34: For where [G3699][G1063] is the [G3588] your treasure [G2344][G1473], there [G1563] also [G2532] the [G3588] your heart [G2588][G1473] will be .
35: Let be your [G1473] the [G3588] loins [G3751] being girded [G4024], and [G2532] the [G3588] lamps [G3088] burning [G2545]!
36: And [G2532] you [G1473] likened [G3664] to men waiting for [G4327] the [G3588]ir Boss '[G2962][G1438], [as to] when [G4219] he disengages from [G1537] the [G3588] wedding [feasts [G1062], that [G2443] having come [G2064] and [G2532] having knocked [G2925], immediately [G2112] they should open to him [G1473].
37: Blessed [G3107] the [G3588] those servants [G1401][G1565], whom [G3739] coming [G2064] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] will find [G2147] being vigilant [G1127]. Amen I say [G3004] to you [G1473], that [G3754] he will gird himself [G4024], and [G2532] lay them down [G1473], and [G2532] going by [G3928] will serve [G1247] to them [G1473].
38: And [G2532] if [G1437] he should come [G2064] in [G1722] the [G3588] second [G1208] watch [G5438], and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] third [G5154] watch [G5438] he should come [G2064], and [G2532] should find [them [G2147] thus [G3779], blessed [G3107] are the [G3588] those servants [G1401][G1565].
39: this [G3778] But [G1161] know [G1097]! that [G3754] if [G1487] knew [G1492] the [G3588] boss of the house [G3617] what [G4169] hour [G5610] the [G3588] thief [G2812] comes [G2064], he would have been vigilant [G1127], and [G2532] would not [G3756] have let be dug through [G1358] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473].
40: And [G2532] you [G1473] then [G3767] be [G1096] prepared [G2092]! for [G3754] the [G3588] hour [G5610] you think not [G3756][G1380] -- the [G3588] son [G5207] of the [G3588] man comes [G2064].
41: said [G2036] And [G1161] to him [G1473] the [G3588] Peter], O Boss '[G2962], to [G4314] us [G1473] the [G3588] this paralell '[G3850][G3778] do you speak [G3004], or [G2228] also [G2532] to [G4314] all [G3956]?
42: said [G2036] And [G1161] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962], Who [G5100] then is the [G3588] trustworthy [G4103] manager [G3623] and [G2532] practical [G5429], whom [G3739] places [G2525] the [G3588] boss [G2962] over [G1909] the [G3588] his attendants [G2322][G1473], the [G3588] to give [G1325] in [G1722] time [G2540] the [G3588] measure of grain [G4620]?
43: Blessed [is [G3107] the [G3588] that servant [G1401][G1565], whom [G3739] having come [G2064] the [G3588] his boss [G2962][G1473] finds [G2147] doing [G4160] thus [G3779].
44: Truly I say [G3004] to you [G1473], that [G3754] over [G1909] all [G3956] the [G3588] possessions [G5224] of him [G1473] he will place [G2525] him [G1473].
45: But if [G1437][G1161] should say [G2036] the [G3588] that servant [G1401][G1565] in [G1722] the [G3588] his heart [G2588][G1473], passes time [G5549] the [G3588] My boss [G2962][G1473] in coming [G2064]; and [G2532] he should begin to beat [G5180] the [G3588] manservants [G3816] and [G2532] the [G3588] maidservants [G3814], and to eat [G2068][G5037] and [G2532] drink [G4095], and [G2532] to be intoxicated [G3182];
46: will come [G2240] the [G3588] boss [G2962] of the [G3588] that servant [G1401][G1565] in [G1722] a day [G2250] in which [G3739] he does not [G3756] expect [G4328], and [G2532] in [G1722] an hour [G5610] in which [G3739] he knows not [G3756][G1097]; and [G2532] he will cut him in pieces [G1371][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his portion [G3313][G1473] with [G3326] the [G3588] unbelieving will be put [G5087].
47: And that [G1565][G1161] the [G3588] servant [G1401], which [G3739] having known [G1097] the [G3588] will [G2307] of the [G3588] his boss [G2962][G1438], and [G2532] not [G3361] having prepared [G2090], nor [G3366] doing [G4160] according to [G4314] the [G3588] will [G2307] of him [G1473], will be flayed [G1194] much [G4183].
48: But the [G3588] [one] [G1161] not [G3361] having known [G1097], but doing [things] [G4160][G1161] worthy of strokes [G4127], will be flayed [with [G1194] few [G3641]. And to every one [G3956][G1161] whom [G3739] was given [G1325] much [G4183], much [G4183] will be sought [G2212] from [G3844] him [G1473]. And [G2532] to whom [G3739] they placed near [G3908] much [G4183], more extra [G4053] will they ask him [G1473].
49: fire [G4442] I came [G2064] to throw onto [G1519] the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] what [G5100] will I [G2309], if already [G1487][G2235] it be lighted ?
50: But a submergence [G1161] I have [G2192] to be submerged , and [G2532] how [G4459] constrained I am [G4912] until [G2193] of which [time] [G3739] it should be finished [G5055]?
51: Do you think [G1380] that [G3754] peace [G1515] I came [G3854] to execute [G1325] upon [G1722] the [G3588] land '[G1093]? No [G3780], I say [G3004] to you [G1473], but only division [G1267].
52: For there will be [G1063] from the [G3588] now [on [G3568] five [G4002] in [G1722] house [G3624] one [G1520] being divided [G1266] -- three [G5140] against [G1909] two [G1417], and [G2532] two [G1417] against [G1909] three [G5140].
53: will be divided [G1266] Father [G3962] against [G1909] son [G5207], and [G2532] son [G5207] against [G1909] father [G3962]; mother [G3384] against [G1909] daughter [G2364], and [G2532] daughter [G2364] against [G1909] mother [G3384]; mother-in-law [G3994] against [G1909] the [G3588] daughter-in-law [G3565], and she [G1473][G2532], daughter-in-law [G3565], against [G1909] the [G3588] her mother-in-law [G3994][G1473].
54: And he said [G3004][G1161] also [G2532] to the [G3588] crowds [G3793], Whenever [G3752] you should look [at] [G1492] the [G3588] cloud [G3507] arising from west [G1424], immediately [G2112] you say [G3004], A heavy shower [G3655] comes [G2064]; and [G2532] it happens [G1096] thus [G3779].
55: And [G2532] whenever [G3752] a south [wind [G3558] is being blown [G4154], you say [G3004] that [G3754], It will be a burning wind [G2742]; and [G2532] it happens [G1096].
56: Stage-actors [G5273], the [G3588] surface [G4383] of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] and [G2532] of the [G3588] land '[G1093] you know [G1492] to distinguish [G1381], the [G3588] but [concerning [G1161] this time [G2540][G3778], how [G4459] do you not [G3756] distinguish [G1381]?
57: And why [G5100][G1161] even [G2532] off yourselves [G1438] do you not [G3756] judge [G2919] [what is the [G3588] just [G1342]?
58: For as [G5613][G1063] you go [G5217] with [G3326] the [G3588] your opponent [G1473] unto [G1909] ruler , in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598] make [G1325] an effort [G2039] to be dismissed from him [G1473]; lest at any time [G3379] he should drag [G2694] you [G1473] to [G4314] the [G3588] judge [G2923], and [G2532] the [G3588] judge [G2923] should deliver you up [G1473][G3860] to the [G3588] exactor [G4233], and [G2532] the [G3588] exactor [G4233] should throw you [G1473] into [G1519] prison [G5438].
59: I say [G3004] to you [G1473], In no way will you come forth [G1831] from there [G1564], until [G2193] of which [G3739] ever [time] [G2532] the [G3588] last [G2078] lepton [G3016] you should repay .
