1 Kings Chapter 13 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] look [G2400], a man of the [G3588] God '[G2316] came [G3854] from out of [G1537] Judah with [G1722] a word [G3056] of Boss '[G2962] unto [G1519] Beth-el. And [G2532] Jeroboam stood [G2476] upon [G1909] the [G3588] altar [G2379] to sacrifice .
2: And [G2532] he called [G1941] upon [G1909] the [G3588] altar [G2379] with [G1722] word [G3056] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] said [G2036], O altar [G2379], O altar [G2379], thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], look [G2400], a son [G5207] is born [G5088] to the [G3588] house [G3624] of David, Josiah [is] name [G3686] of him [G1473], and [G2532] he will sacrifice [G2380] upon [G1909] you [G1473] the [G3588] priests [G2409] of the [G3588] high [places [G5308], the [G3588] [ones] sacrificing upon [G1909] you [G1473], and [G2532] bones [G3747] of men he will burn [G2545] upon [G1909] you [G1473].
3: And [G2532] he executed [G1325] in [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565] a miracle [G5059], saying [G3004], This [G3778] [is] the [G3588] saying [G4487] which [G3739] spoke [G2980] Boss '[G2962], saying [G3004], look [G2400], the [G3588] altar [G2379] is torn [G4486], and [G2532] will be poured out [G1632] the [G3588] fatness [G4096] the [G3588] being upon [G1909] it [G1473].
4: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] as [G5613] heard the [G3588] king Jeroboam] the [G3588] words [G3056] of the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316]. of the [G3588] [one] calling [G1941] upon [G1909] the [G3588] altar [G2379] the [G3588] in [G1722] Beth-el, that [G2532] he stretched out [G1614] the [G3588] his hand [G5495][G1473] from the [G3588] altar [G2379], saying [G3004], Seize [G4815] him [G1473]! And [G2532] withered [G3583] the [G3588] his hand [G5495][G1473] which [G3739] he stretched out [G1614] against [G1909] him [G1473], and [G2532] he was not [G3756] able [G1410] to return [G1994] it [G1473] to [G4314] himself [G1473].
5: And [G2532] the [G3588] altar [G2379] tore [G4486], and [G2532] poured out [G1632] the [G3588] fatness [G4096] from the [G3588] altar [G2379], according to [G2596] the [G3588] portent [G5059] which [G3739] gave [G1325] the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316] by [G1722] word [G3056] of Boss '[G2962].
6: And [G2532] answered the [G3588] king , and [G2532] said [G2036] to the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316], Beseech [G1189] the [G3588] face [G4383] of Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473], and [G2532] return [G1994] the [G3588] my hand [G5495][G1473] to [G4314] me [G1473]! And [G2532] beseeched [G1189] the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316] the [G3588] face [G4383] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] returned [G1994] the [G3588] hand [G5495] of the [G3588] king to [G4314] him [G1473], and [G2532] it became [G1096] as [G2531] for the [G3588]merly [G4387].
7: And [G2532] spoke [G2980] the [G3588] king to [G4314] the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316], Enter [G1525] with [G3326] me [G1473] to [G1519] the [G3588] my house [G3624][G1473] and [G2532] dine , and [G2532] I will give [G1325] to you [G1473] a gift [G1390]!
8: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316] to [G4314] the [G3588] king , If [G1437] you should give [G1325] to me [G1473] the [G3588] half [G2255] of the [G3588] your house [G3624][G1473], I will not enter [G3756][G1525] with [G3326] you [G1473], neither will I eat [G2068] bread , nor drink [G4095] water [G5204] in [G1722] the [G3588] this place [G5117][G3778].
9: For [G3754] thus [G3779] gave charge [G1781] to me [G1473] Boss '[G2962] by [G1722] a word [G3056], saying [G3004], In no way should you eat [G2068] bread , nor in any way should you drink [G4095] water [G5204], nor in any way should you return [G1994] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598] in [G1722] which [G3739] you came [G4198] by [G1722] it [G1473].
10: And [G2532] he went forth by [G1722] way [G3598] another , and [G2532] did not [G3756] return in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598] which [G3739] he came [G2064] by [G1722] it [G1473] unto [G1519] Beth-el.
11: And [G2532] a prophet [G4396], one [G1520] old man [G4246], dwelt [G2730] in [G1722] Beth-el. And [G2532] came [G2064] the [G3588] his sons [G5207][G1473] and [G2532] described [G1334] to him [G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] works [G2041] which [G3739] did [G4160] the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316] in [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565] in [G1722] Beth-el, and [G2532] the [G3588] words [G3056] which [G3739] he spoke [G2980] to the [G3588] king . And [G2532] they turned [G1994] the [G3588] face [G4383] of the [G3588]ir father [G3962][G1473].
12: And [G2532] said [G2980] to [G4314] them [G1473] the [G3588]ir father [G3962][G1473], saying [G3004], Which [G4169] way [G3598] has he went [G4198]? And [G2532] showed [G1166] to him [G1473] the [G3588] his sons [G5207][G1473] the [G3588] way [G3598] which [G3739] went the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316], the [G3588] [one] coming [G2064] from out of [G1537] Judah.
13: And [G2532] he said [G2036] [to the [G3588] his sons [G5207][G1473], Saddle for me [G1473] the [G3588] donkey [G3688]! And [G2532] they saddled for him [G1473] the [G3588] donkey [G3688]. And [G2532] he mounted [G1910] upon [G1909] him [G1473],
14: and [G2532] he went [G4198] after the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316]. And [G2532] he found [G2147] him [G1473] sitting down [G2521] under [G5259] the [G3588] oak . And [G2532] he said [G2036] to him [G1473], Are you [G1473] the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316], the [G3588] [one] coming [G1831] from out of [G1537] Judah? And [G2532] he said [G2036], I am [G1473].
15: And [G2532] he said [G2036] to him [G1473], Come [G1204] with [G3326] me [G1473], and [G2532] eat [G2068] bread !
16: And [G2532] he said [G2036], In no way am I able [G1410] the [G3588] to return [G1994] with [G3326] you [G1473], nor [G3777] should I eat [G2068] bread , nor in any way [G3777][G3361] should I drink [G4095] water [G5204] in [G1722] the [G3588] this place [G5117][G3778].
17: For [G3754] so [G3779] it has been given charge [G1781] to me [G1473] by [G1722] word [G3056] [of the] Boss '[G2962], saying [G3004], You will not [G3361] eat [G2068] bread there [G1563], and [G2532] you will not drink [G3361][G4095] water [G5204], and [G2532] you will not return [G3361][G1994] there [G1563] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598] in [G1722] which [G3739] you went [G4198] by [G1722] it [G1473].
18: And [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473], And I [G2504] am a prophet [G4396] as [G5613] you [G1473], and [G2532] a word-conveyer (messenger) ' spoke [G2980] to [G4314] me [G1473] by [G1722] word [G3056] of Boss '[G2962], saying [G3004], Return [G1994] him [G1473] with [G3326] yourself [G4572] to [G1519] the [G3588] your house [G3624][G1473], and [G2532] let him eat [G2068] bread , and [G2532] drink [G4095] water [G5204]! But [G2532] he lied [G5574] to him [G1473].
19: And [G2532] he returned [G1994] him [G1473], and [G2532] he ate [G2068] bread , and [G2532] he drank [G4095] water [G5204] in [G1722] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473].
20: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] of them [G1473] sitting down [G2521] at [G1909] the [G3588] table [G5132], that [G2532] came [G1096] word [G3056] [of the] Boss '[G2962] to [G4314] the [G3588] prophet [G4396], the [G3588] [one] having returned [G1994] him [G1473].
21: And [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316], the [G3588] [one] having come [G2240] from out of [G1537] Judah, saying [G3004], Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962], Because you rebelled against [G3893] the [G3588] saying [G4487] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] did not [G3756] guard [G5442] the [G3588] commandment [G1785] which [G3739] gave charge [G1781] to you [G1473] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] your God '[G2316][G1473],
22: but [G2532] you returned [G1994] and [G2532] ate [G2068] bread , and [G2532] drank [G4095] water [G5204] in [G1722] the [G3588] this place [G5117][G3778], in [G1722] which [G3739] he spoke [G2980] to [G4314] you [G1473], saying [G3004], You will not eat [G3361][G2068] bread nor [G3366] drink [G4095] water [G5204] -- in no way will enter [G1525] the [G3588] body [G4983] your [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] burying-place [G5028] of the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473].
23: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] after [G3326] the [G3588] he ate [G2068][G1473] bread and [G2532] drank [G4095] water [G5204], that [G2532] he saddled for him [G1473] the [G3588] donkey [G3688], for the [G3588] prophet [G4396], and [G2532] he returned [G1994].
24: And [G2532] he went forth . And [G2532] found [G2147] him [G1473] a lion [G3023] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598], and [G2532] it killed [G2289] him [G1473]. And [G2532] was the [G3588] his body [G4983][G1473] tossed [G4495] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598], and [G2532] the [G3588] donkey [G3688] stood [G2476] by [G3844] it [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] lion [G3023] stood [G2476] by [G3844] the [G3588] body [G4983].
25: And [G2532] look [G2400], men coming near [G3899] also [G2532] looked [at] [G1492] the [G3588] decaying flesh tossed [G4495] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598], and [G2532] the [G3588] lion [G3023] standing [G2476] next to [G2192] the [G3588] decaying flesh . And [G2532] they entered [G1525] and [G2532] spoke [G2980] in [G1722] the [G3588] city [G4172] of which [G3739] the [G3588] prophet [G4396], the [G3588] old man [G4246], dwelt [G2730] in [G1722] it [G1473].
26: And [G2532] heard the [G3588] [one] returning [G1994] him [G1473] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] way [G3598], and [G2532] said [G2036], the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316] This [G3778] is who [G3739] rebelled against [G3893] the [G3588] word [G4487] of Boss '[G2962]; and [G2532] gave [G1325] him [G1473] Boss '[G2962] to the [G3588] lion [G3023], and [G2532] it broke [G4937] him [G1473], and [G2532] it killed [G2289] him [G1473], according to [G2596] the [G3588] word [G4487] of Boss '[G2962] which [G3739] he spoke [G2980] to him [G1473].
27: And [G2532] he spoke [G2980] to [G4314] the [G3588] his sons [G5207][G1473], saying [G3004], Saddle for me [G1473] the [G3588] donkey [G3688]! And [G2532] they saddled [it .
28: And [G2532] he went [G4198] and [G2532] found [G2147] the [G3588] his body [G4983][G1473] having been tossed [G4495] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598], and [G2532] the [G3588] donkey [G3688] and [G2532] the [G3588] lion [G3023] were standing [G2476] by [G3844] the [G3588] body [G4983], and [G2532] did not [G3756] eat [G2068] the [G3588] lion [G3023] the [G3588] body [G4983], and [G2532] it did not tear apart [G3756][G4937] the [G3588] donkey [G3688].
29: And [G2532] lifted the [G3588] prophet [G4396] the [G3588] body [G4983] of the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] he placed [G2007] it [G1473] upon [G1909] the [G3588] donkey [G3688], and [G2532] he returned [G1994] it [G1473] to [G1519] the [G3588] city [G4172] of the [G3588] prophet [G4396] the [G3588] old [G4245], the [G3588] to lament [G2875] and [G2532] to entomb [G2290] him [G1473].
30: And [G2532] he put [G5087] the [G3588] his body [G4983][G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] his tomb [G5028][G1438]; and [G2532] they lamented [G2875] him, [saying [G1473], Woe [G3759] O brother .
31: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] after [G3326] the [G3588] lamenting [G2875] him [G1473], that [G2532] he said [G2036] [to the [G3588] his sons [G5207][G1473], saying [G3004], If [G1437] I die , entomb [G2290] me [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] this tomb [G5028][G3778] in [G1722] which [G3739] the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316] was entombed [G2290] in [G1722] it [G1473]! by [G3844] the [G3588] his bones [G3747][G1473] Put [G5087] me [G1473]! that [G2443] should be preserved [G4982] the [G3588] bones [G3747] my [G1473] with [G3326] the [G3588] his bones [G3747][G1473].
32: For [G3754] coming to pass [G1096] will be the [G3588] saying [G4487] which [G3739] he spoke [G2980] by [G1722] word [G3056] [of the] Boss '[G2962] against [G1909] the [G3588] altar [G2379] in [G1722] Beth-el, and [G2532] against [G1909] the [G3588] houses [G3624] of the [G3588] high [places [G5308], of the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] Samaria.
33: And [G2532] after [G3326] the [G3588] this saying [G4487][G3778] did not [G3756] turn [G1994] Jeroboam] from the [G3588] his evil [G2549][G1473], but [G2532] he returned [G1994] and [G2532] appointed [G4160] from [G1537] part [G3313] of the [G3588] people [G2992] priests [G2409] of the [G3588] high [places [G5308]. the [G3588] [one] wanting [to be a priest [G1014] he filled [the post [G4137] the [G3588] by his hand [G5495][G1473], and [G2532] he became [G1096] priest [G2409] of the [G3588] high [places [G5308].
34: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] the [G3588] this thing [G4487][G3778] became [G1519] sin to the [G3588] house [G3624] of Jeroboam, and [G2532] for [G1519] ruin [G3639], and [G2532] for [G1519] extinction from face [G4383] of the [G3588] land '[G1093].
