Deuteronomy Chapter 9 - | Early Church Bible

1: Hear , O Israel! You [G1473] pass over [G1224] today [G4594] the [G3588] Jordan to enter [G1525] to inherit [G2816] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] great [G3173] and [G2532] stronger [G2478] than [G3123][G2228] you [G1473]; cities [G4172] great [G3173] and [G2532] walled unto [G2193] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772];
2: a people [G2992] great [G3173] and [G2532] populous [G4183] and [G2532] tall -- sons [G5207] of Anak whom [G3739] you [G1473] know [G1492], and [G2532] you [G1473] have heard [said , Who [G5100] can withstand against [G2596] face [G4383] of sons [G5207] of Anak?
3: And [G2532] you will know [G1097] today [G4594] that [G3754] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473], he [G3778] will go forth [G4313] before [G4253] face [G4383] of you [G1473]. fire [G4442] a consuming [G2654] He is . He [G3778] will utterly destroy [G1842] them [G1473], and [G2532] he [G3778] will turn them away [G1473] before [G4253] your presence [G4383][G1473]. And [G2532] he will utterly destroy [G1842] them [G1473], and [G2532] he will destroy them [G1473] quickly [G1722][G5034], just as [G2509] said [G2036] to you [G1473] Boss '[G2962].
4: You should not [G3361] say [G2036] in [G1722] the [G3588] your heart [G2588][G1473] by [G1722] the [G3588] complete consuming [by the] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473] of the [G3588]se tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484][G3778] before [G4253] face [G4383] of you [G1473], saying [G3004], Because of [G1223] the [G3588] my righteousness [G1343][G1473] brought [G1521] me [G1473] Boss '[G2962] to inherit [G2816] the [G3588] land '[G1093] the [G3588] this good [G3778]. But on account of [G1223] the [G3588] impiety of the [G3588]se tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484][G3778] will utterly destroy [G1842] them [G1473] Boss '[G2962] before [G4253] face [G4383] of you [G1473].
5: Not [G3780] because of [G1223] the [G3588] your righteousness [G1343][G1473], nor [G3761] because of [G1223] the [G3588] sacredness [G3742] of the [G3588] your heart [G2588][G1473] do you [G1473] enter [G1531] to inherit [G2816] the [G3588]ir land '[G1093][G1473]. But because of [G1223] the [G3588] impiety of the [G3588]se tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484][G3778] Boss '[G2962] will utterly destroy [G1842] them [G1473] from your presence [G4383][G1473], and [G2532] that [G2443] he should establish [G2476] the [G3588] covenant [G1242] which [G3739] BOSS swore by an oath [G3660][G2962] [to the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473] -- [to the [G3588] Abraham, and [G2532] [to the [G3588] Isaac, and [G2532] [to the [G3588] Jacob.
6: And [G2532] you will know [G1097] today [G4594] that [G3754] not [G3756] through [G1223] the [G3588] your works of righteousness [G1343][G1473] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473] gives [G1325] to you [G1473] the [G3588] land '[G1093] the [G3588] this good [G3778] to inherit [G2816]; for [G3754] people [G2992] a hard-necked [G4644] you are .
7: Remember [G3403]! you should not [G3361] forget [G1950] as much as [G3745] you provoked [G3947] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] wilderness [G2048], from which [G3739] day [G2250] you came forth [G1831] from [G1537] land '[G1093] of Egypt, until [G2193] you came [G2064] into [G1519] the [G3588] this place [G5117][G3778], [for by] resisting persuasion you completed [G1300] the [things] [G3588] against [G4314] Boss '[G2962].
8: And [G2532] in [G1722] Horeb you provoked [G3947] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] BOSS was enraged [G2373][G2962] with [G1909] you [G1473] to utterly destroy [G1842] you [G1473].
9: Of my going up [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] to take [G2983] the [G3588] tablets [G4109] of the [G3588] stone [G3035], tablets [G4109] of covenant [G1242] of which [G3739] BOSS ordained [G1303][G2962] for [G4314] you [G1473]. And [G2532] I was occupied in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] forty [G5062] days [G2250] and [G2532] forty [G5062] nights [G3571]. bread I did not eat [G3756][G2068], and [G2532] water [G5204] I did not drink [G3756][G4095].
10: And [G2532] gave [G1325] to me [G1473] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] two [G1417] tablets [G4109] of the [G3588] stone [G3035], being written [G1125] by [G1722] the [G3588] finger [G1147] of the [G3588] God '[G2316]. And [G2532] upon [G1909] them [G1473] he had written [G1125] all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056], the ones which [G3739] spoke [G2980] Boss '[G2962] to [G4314] you [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735], from [G1537] amidst [G3319] the [G3588] fire [G4442], in [G1722] day [G2250] of assembly [G1577].
11: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] through [G1223] forty [G5062] days [G2250] and [G2532] through [G1223] forty [G5062] nights [G3571], BOSS gave [G1325][G2962] to me [G1473] the [G3588] two [G1417] tablets [G4109] of the [G3588] stone [G3035] -- tablets [G4109] of covenant [G1242].
12: And [G2532] BOSS said [G2036][G2962] to [G4314] me [G1473], Arise , go down [G2597] quickly the [G3588][G5034] from here [G1782]! for [G3754] acted lawlessly the [G3588] your people [G2992][G1473], of whom [G3739] you led out [G1806] of [G1537] land '[G1093] of Egypt. They violated [G3845] quickly [G5036] from [G1537] the [G3588] way [G3598] of which [G3739] you gave charge [G1781] to them [G1473]; they made [G4160] to themselves [G1438] a molten casting .
13: And [G2532] BOSS said [G2036][G2962] to [G4314] me [G1473], saying [G3004], I have spoken [G2980] to [G4314] you [G1473] once and [G2532] twice [G1364], saying [G3004], I have seen [G3708] the [G3588] this people [G2992][G3778]; and [G2532], look [G2400], people [G2992] it is a hard-necked [G4644].
14: Allow [G1439] me [G1473]! to utterly destroy [G1842] them [G1473], and [G2532] I will wipe away [G1813] the [G3588]ir name [G3686][G1473] from beneath the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772]. And [G2532] I will make [G4160] you [G1473] into [G1519] tradition-people (ethnic) '[G1484] a great [G3173] and [G2532] strong [G2478], and [G2532] [more] numerous [G4183] rather [G3123] than [G2228] this one [G3778].
15: And [G2532] turning [G1994], I went down [G2597] from [G1537] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735], and [G2532] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] burned [G2545] fire [G4442]. And [G2532] the [G3588] two [G1417] tablets [G4109] of the [G3588] covenant [G1242] were in [G1909] the [G3588] two [G1417] hands [G5495] my [G1473].
16: And [G2532] seeing [G1492] that [G3754] you sinned before [G1726] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473], and [G2532] made [G4160] to [G1473] yourselves [G1473] a calf [G3448] molten [image , and [G2532] transgressed [G3845] quickly [G5036] from [G1537] the [G3588] way [G3598] which [G3739] BOSS gave charge [G1781][G2962] to you [G1473];
17: that [G2532] taking hold of [G1949] the [G3588] two [G1417] tablets [G4109], I tossed [G4495] them [G1473] from the [G3588] two [G1417] hands [G5495] my [G1473], and [G2532] I broke [G4937] them [G1473] before [G1726] you [G1473].
18: And [G2532] I beseeched [G1189] before [G1725] Boss '[G2962] a second [time] [G1208], as also [G2509] even [G2532] for the [G3588]merly [G4387], forty [G5062] days [G2250] and [G2532] forty [G5062] nights [G3571]. Bread I did not [G3756] eat [G2068], and [G2532] water [G5204] I did not [G3756] drink [G4095], on account of [G4012] all [G3956] the [G3588] sins of you [G1473] which [G3739] you sinned , to do [G4160] the [G3588] wicked [thing] [G4190] before [G1725] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316], to provoke [G3947] him [G1473].
19: And [G2532] I am frightened [G1630] on account of [G1223] the [G3588] rage [G2372] and [G2532] the [G3588] anger [G3709] that [G3754] BOSS was provoked [G3947][G2962] by [G1909] you [G1473] the [G3588] to utterly destroy [G1842] you [G1473]. And [G2532] BOSS hearkened to [G1522][G2962] me [G1473] even [G2532] at [G1722] the [G3588] that time [G2540][G1565].
20: And [G2532] upon [G1909] Aaron BOSS was enraged [G2373][G2962] exceedingly [G4970] the [G3588] to utterly destroy [G1842] him [G1473]. And [G2532] I made a vow [G2172] also [G2532] for [G4012] Aaron in [G1722] the [G3588] that time [G2540][G1565].
21: And [G2532] the [G3588] your sin [G1473] which [G3739] you made [G4160] -- the [G3588] calf [G3448]; I took [G2983] and [G2532] I incinerated [G2618] it [G1473] in [G1722] fire [G4442], and [G2532] cut it down [G1473], and [G2532] ground it down exceeding [G4970], until [G2193] of which [G3739] it became [G1096] fine [G3016], and [G2532] became [G1096] as [G5616] a cloud of dust [G2868]. And [G2532] I tossed [G4495] the [G3588] dust [G2868] into [G1519] the [G3588] rushing stream [G5493], the [G3588] [one] coming down [G2597] from [G1537] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735].
22: And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] Combustion , and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] Test [G3986] and [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] Tombs [G3418] of the [G3588] Desire [G1939], you were provoking [G3947] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473].
23: And [G2532] when [G3753] sent [G1821] you [G1473] Boss '[G2962] from [G1537] Kadesh Barnea, saying [G3004], go up and [G2532] inherit [G2816] the [G3588] land '[G1093] which [G3739] I give [G1325] to you [G1473]! that [G2532] you resisted persuasion in the [G3588] word [G4487] of Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473], and [G2532] did not [G3756] trust '[G4100] him [G1473], and [G2532] did not [G3756] listen to [G1522] the [G3588] his voice [G5456][G1473].
24: You were resisting the [things] [G3588] towards [G4314] Boss '[G2962] from which [G3739] day [G2250] he was made known [G1097] to you [G1473].
25: And [G2532] I beseeched [G1189] before [G1725] Boss '[G2962] forty [G5062] days [G2250] and [G2532] forty [G5062] nights [G3571]. Many [things] [G3745] I beseeched [G1189]; said [G2036] for [G1063] Boss '[G2962] he would utterly destroy [G1842] you [G1473].
26: And [G2532] I made a vow [G2172] to [G4314] the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] said [G2036], O Boss '[G2962], Boss '[G2962], you should not [G3361] utterly destroy [G1842] the [G3588] your people [G2992][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] your inheritance [G2817][G1473] whom [G3739] you ransomed [G3084] in [G1722] the [G3588] strength [G2479] your [G1473] the [G3588] great [G3173], of whom [G3739] you led out [G1806] of [G1537] land '[G1093] of Egypt by [G1722] the [G3588] hand [G5495] your [G1473] for the [G3588]tified [G2900], and [G2532] by [G1722] the [G3588] arm [G1023] your [G1473] the [G3588] high [G5308].
27: Remember [G3403] Abraham, and [G2532] Isaac, and [G2532] Jacob, the [G3588] your attendants [G2324][G1473]! ones to whom [G3739] you swore by an oath [G3660] according to [G2596] yourself [G4572]. You should not [G3361] look [G1914] upon [G1909] the [G3588] hardness [G4643] of the [G3588] this people [G2992][G3778], and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588]ir acts of impiety [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588]ir sins [G1473];
28: lest [G3379] should say [G2036] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] the [G3588] land '[G1093] from where [G3606] you led [G1806] us [G1473] from there [G1564], saying [G3004], Because [G3844] the [G3588] was not [G3361] able [G1410] Boss '[G2962] to bring [G1521] them [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] land '[G1093] which [G3739] he said [G2036] to them [G1473], and [G2532] because of [G3844] the [G3588] detesting [G3404] Boss '[G2962] them [G1473], he led [G1806] them [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] wilderness [G2048] to kill them [G1473].
29: And [G2532] these [are [G3778] your people [G2992][G1473] and [G2532] your inheritance [G2817][G1473], of whom [G3739] you led out [G1806] of [G1537] land '[G1093] of Egypt by [G1722] the [G3588] strength [G2479] your [G1473] the [G3588] great [G3173] and [G2532] by [G1722] the [G3588] arm [G1023] your [G1473] the [G3588] high [G5308].
