Luke Chapter 15 - | Early Church Bible

1: And were [G1161] approaching [G1448] to him [G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] tax collectors [G5057] and [G2532] the [G3588] sinners to hear him [G1473].
2: And [G2532] complained [G1234] the [G3588] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]) and [G2532] the [G3588] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613])], saying [G3004] that [G3754], This one [G3778] sinners favorably receives [G4327], and [G2532] eats with [G4906] them [G1473].
3: And he spoke [G2036][G1161] to [G4314] them [G1473] the [G3588] this paralell '[G3850][G3778], saying [G3004],
4: What [G5100] man of [G1537] you [G1473], having [G2192] a hundred [G1540] sheep [G4263], and [G2532] having lost one [G1520] of [G1537] them [G1473], leaves not [G3756][G2641] the [G3588] ninety nine [G1767] in [G1722] the [G3588] wilderness [G2048], and [G2532] goes [G4198] after [G1909] the [G3588] [one] being lost , until [G2193] he should find [G2147] it [G1473]?
5: And [G2532] having found [G2147], he places [it [G2007] upon [G1909] the [G3588] shoulders [G5606] of himself [G1438], rejoicing [G5463].
6: And [G2532] having come [G2064] unto [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3624], he calls together [G4779] the [G3588] friends [G5384] and [G2532] the [G3588] neighbors [G1069], saying [G3004] to them [G1473], Rejoice along with [G4796] me [G1473]! for [G3754] I found [G2147] the [G3588] sheep [G4263] of me [G1473], the [G3588] [one] being lost .
7: I say [G3004] to you [G1473] that [G3754] thus [G3779] joy [G5479] there will be in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] over [G1909] one [G1520] sinner repenting [G3340], than [G2228] over [G1909] ninety nine [G1767] just [G1342] ones who [G3748] no [G3756] need [G5532] have [G2192] for repentance [G3341].
8: Or [G2228] what [G5100] woman [G1135] drachmas [G1406] having [G2192] ten [G1176], if [G1437] she should lose drachma [G1406] one [G1520], does not [G3780] light a lamp [G3088], and [G2532] sweeps [G4563] the [G3588] house [G3614], and [G2532] seeks [G2212] carefully [G1960] until [G2193] whenever [G3748] she should find [it [G2147]?
9: And [G2532] having found [G2147], she calls together [G4779] the [G3588] friends [G5384] and [G2532] the [G3588] neighbors [G1069], saying [G3004], Rejoice along with [G4796] me [G1473]! for [G3754] I found [G2147] the [G3588] drachma [G1406] which [G3739] I lost .
10: Thus [G3779] I say [G3004] to you [G1473], joy [G5479] takes place [G1096] before [G1799] the [G3588] word-conveyers (messengers) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316] over [G1909] one [G1520] sinner repenting [G3340].
11: And he said [G2036][G1161], A man certain [G5100] had [G2192] two [G1417] sons [G5207].
12: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] younger [G3501] of them [G1473] to the [G3588] father [G3962], O father [G3962], give [G1325] to me [G1473] the [G3588] assigned [G1911] part [G3313] of the [G3588] wealth [G3776]. And [G2532] he divided [G1244] to them [G1473] the [G3588] livelihood .
13: And [G2532] after [G3326] not [G3756] many [G4183] days [G2250] having gathered [G4863] all the [G3588] younger [G3501] son [G5207], traveled abroad unto [G1519] a place [G5561] afar [G3117], and [G2532] there [G1563] dispersed [G1287] the [G3588] wealth [G3776] of him [G1473] living [G2198] unsafely (carelessly) '.
14: spending [G1159] And [G1161] he [G1473] all [G3956], there became [G1096] a famine [G3042] strong [G2478] in [G2596] the [G3588] place [G5561] that [G1565]; and [G2532] he [G1473] began to fail [G5302].
15: And [G2532] having gone [G4198], he cleaved [G2853] to one [G1520] of the [G3588] citizens [G4177] of the [G3588] place [G5561] that [G1565]; and [G2532] he sent forth [G3992] him [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] field of him [G1473] to graze [G1006] swine [G5519].
16: And [G2532] he was desiring [G1937] to fill [G1072] the [G3588] belly [G2836] of him [G1473] from the [G3588] husks [G2769] which [G3739] were eating [G2068] the [G3588] swine [G5519], and [G2532] no one [G3762] gave [G1325] to him [G1473].
17: To [G1519] himself [G1438], and [G1161], having come [G2064], he said [G2036], How many [G4214] hirelings [G3407] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473] abound [G4052] of bread loaves , but I [G1473][G1161] with hunger [G3042] perish ?
18: Having risen up , I will go [G4198] to [G4314] the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473], and [G2532] I will say [G2046] to him [G1473], O father [G3962], I sinned unto [G1519] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], and [G2532] before [G1799] you [G1473];
19: and [G2532] no longer [G3765] am I worthy to be called [G2564] your son [G5207][G1473]; make [G4160] me [G1473] as [G5613] one [G1520] of the [G3588] your hirelings [G3407][G1473]!
20: And [G2532] having risen up , he went [G2064] to [G4314] the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473]. And still [G2089][G1161] he [G1473] far at a distance [G3112] being , looked [at] [G1492] him [G1473] the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473], and [G2532] was moved with compassion [G4697], and [G2532] running [G5143] fell [G1968] upon [G1909] the [G3588] his neck [G5137][G1473], and [G2532] kissed [G2705] him [G1473].
21: said [G2036] And [G1161] to him [G1473] the [G3588] son [G5207], O father [G3962], I sinned unto [G1519] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], and [G2532] before [G1799] you [G1473], and [G2532] no longer [G3765] am I worthy to be called [G2564] your son [G5207][G1473].
22: said [G2036] But [G1161] the [G3588] father [G3962] to [G4314] the [G3588] his servants [G1401][G1473], Bring forth [G1627] the [G3588] apparel [G4749] for the [G3588]emost [G4413], and [G2532] put [it] on [G1746] him [G1473]! And [G2532] give [G1325] a ring [G1146] for [G1519] the [G3588] his hand [G5495][G1473], and [G2532] sandals [G5266] for [G1519] the [G3588] feet [G4228]!
23: And [G2532] having brought [G5342] the [G3588] calf [G3448] the [G3588] well fed [G4618], sacrifice [it [G2380]! and [G2532] eating [G2068] we should be merry [G2165];
24: for [G3754] this [G3778] the [G3588] my son [G5207][G1473] was dead [G3498], and [G2532] is revived ; and [G2532] he was lost , and [G2532] was found [G2147]. And [G2532] they began to be merry [G2165].
25: was And [G1161] the [G3588] son [G5207] of him '[G1473] the [G3588] elder [G4245] in [G1722] field . And [G2532] as [G5613] coming [G2064] he approached [G1448] to the [G3588] house [G3614], he heard harmony of sound [G4858] and [G2532] dancers [G5525].
26: And [G2532] having called on [G4341] one [G1520] of the [G3588] servants [G3816], he inquired about [G4441] what [G5100] these [things] may be [G3778].
27: And the [G3588][G1161] he said [G2036] to him [G1473] that [G3754], the [G3588] Your brother [G1473] is come [G2240], and [G2532] sacrificed [G2380] the [G3588] father [G3962] of you [G1473] the [G3588] calf [G3448] the [G3588] well fed [G4618]; for [G3754] being in health [G5198] he recovered him [G1473].
28: And he was provoked to anger [G3710][G1161], and [G2532] did not [G3756] want [G2309] to enter [G1525]. the [G3588]n [G3767] his father [G3962][G1473] having come forth [G1831] comforted [G3870] him [G1473].
29: And the [G3588][G1161] responding he said [G2036] to the [G3588] father [G3962], look [G2400], so many [G5118] years [G2094] I served [G1398] you [G1473], and [G2532] at no time [G3763] your command [G1785][G1473] passed by [G3928]; and [G2532] to me [G1473] at no time [G3763] did you give [G1325] a kid [G2056], that [G2443] with [G3326] the [G3588] my friends [G5384][G1473] I should be glad [G2165].
30: And when [G3753][G1161] the [G3588] son [G5207] of you [G1473] this [G3778], the [G3588] [one] devouring [G2719] of you [G1473] the [G3588] livelihood with [G3326] harlots [G4204], came [G2064], you sacrificed [G2380] for him [G1473] the [G3588] calf [G3448], the [G3588] [one] well fed [G4618].
31: And the [G3588][G1161] he said [G2036] to him [G1473], Child [G5043], you [G1473] at all times [G3842] with me [G3326][G1473] are ; and [G2532] all [G3956] the [things] [G3588] of mine [G1699] are yours [G4674].
32: But to be merry [G2165][G1161] and [G2532] rejoice [G5463] is necessary [G1163]; for [G3754] the [G3588] your brother [G1473] this [G3778] was dead [G3498], and [G2532] is revived ; and [G2532] he was lost , and [G2532] is found [G2147].
