1: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] after [G3326] these [things] [G3778], that [G2532] prepared [G4160] for himself [G1438] Absalom] chariots , and [G2532] horsemen [G2460], and [G2532] fifty [G4004] men to run along in front of [G1715] him [G1473].
2: And [G2532] rose early [G3719] Absalom], and [G2532] stood [G2186] at [G1909] the [G3588] way [G3598] of the [G3588] gate [G4439]. And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] every [G3956] man in which [G3739] had [G1096] a case [G2920], and [G2532] came [G2064] to [G4314] the [G3588] king for [G1519] a judgment [G2920], that [G2532] called [G2564] him [G1473] Absalom], and [G2532] said [G3004] to him [G1473], From out of [G1537] of what [G4169] city [G4172] are you [G1473]? And [G2532] he said [G3004], [is] from [G1537] one [G1520] of the [G3588] tribes [G5443] of Israel the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473].
3: And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473] the [G3588] Absalom], look [G2400], the [G3588] your words [G3056][G1473] [are] good and [G2532] well-tempered ; but [G2532] the [G3588] hearing no one [G3756] there is you [G1473] from [G3844] the [G3588] king .
4: And [G2532] Absalom said [G2036], Why [G5100] will he [not] place me [G1473][G2525] for judge [G2923] in [G1722] the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] to [G1909] me [G1473] will come [G2064] every [G3956] man to whom [G3739] ever there might be a dispute , and [G2532] a case [G2920], and [G2532] I will do justice [G1344] for him [G1473].
5: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] when [G1722] the [G3588] approached [G1448] man the [G3588] to do obeisance [G4352] to him [G1473], that [G2532] he stretched out [G1614] the [G3588] his hand [G5495][G1473], and [G2532] took hold of [G1949] him [G1473], and [G2532] kissed [G2705] him [G1473].
6: And [G2532] Absalom did [G4160] according to [G2596] the [G3588] this thing [G4487][G3778] to all [G3956] Israel, to the [G3588] [ones] coming [G3854] for [G1519] a judgment [G2920] to [G4314] the [G3588] king . And [G2532] Absalom adopted the [G3588] heart [G2588] of men of Israel.
7: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] at end [G5056] of forty [G5062] years [G2094], that [G2532] Absalom said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473], I will go [G4198] indeed [G1211] and [G2532] pay the [G3588] my vows [G2171][G1473] which [G3739] I vowed [G2172] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] in [G1722] Hebron.
8: For [G3754] a vow [G2171] vowed [G2172] the [G3588] servant [G1401] your [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] my living [G3611][G1473] in [G1722] Geshur in [G1722] Syria, saying [G3004], If [G1437] in returning [G1994] will return [G1994] me [G1473] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] to [G1519] Jerusalem, then [G2532] I will serve [G3000] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962].
9: And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] the [G3588] king , Proceed in [G1519] peace [G1515]! And [G2532] rising up he went [G4198] unto [G1519] Hebron.
10: And [G2532] Absalom sent spies [G2685] into [G1519] all [G3956] the [G3588] tribes [G5443] of the [G3588] Israel, saying [G3004], In [G1722] the [G3588] your hearing [G1473] the [G3588] sound [G5456] of the [G3588] trumpet [G4536], that [G2532] you will say [G2046], reigns Absalom] in [G1722] Hebron.
11: And [G2532] went [G4198] with [G3326] Absalom two hundred [G1250] men from out of [G1537] Jerusalem chosen ; and [G2532] they went [G4198] in simplicity , and [G2532] they did not know [G3756][G1492] not one [G3762] thing [G4487].
12: And [G2532] Absalom sent and [G2532] called [G2564] the [G3588] Ahithophel the [G3588] Gilonite, counselor [G4825] to David, from out of [G1537] the [G3588] his city [G4172][G1473] the [G3588] Giloh, during [G1722] the [G3588] his sacrificing [G2380][G1473] the [G3588] sacrifices [G2378]. And [G2532] there was [G1096] confederation a strong [G2478]. And [G2532] the [G3588] people [G2992] went [G4198], and [G2532] it multiplied [G4129] with [G3326] Absalom.
13: And [G2532] one came [G3854] the [G3588] reporting to [G4314] David, saying [G3004], [is] committed [G1096] the [G3588] heart [G2588] of men of Israel] after [G3694] Absalom.
14: And [G2532] David said [G2036] to all [G3956] the [G3588] his servants [G1401][G1473] with [G3326] him [G1473] in [G1519] Jerusalem, Rise up ! for [G2532] we should flee [G5343], for [G3754] there is no [G3756] deliverance for us [G1473][G4991] from face [G4383] of Absalom. Hasten the [G3588] to go [G4198]! that [G2443] he should not [G3361] hasten and [G2532] overtake [G2638] us [G1473], and [G2532] thrust [G1856] upon [G1909] us [G1473] the [G3588] evil [G2549], and [G2532] should strike [G3960] the [G3588] city [G4172] by [G1722] mouth [G4750] of broadsword [G4501].
15: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] servants [G3816] of the [G3588] king to [G4314] the [G3588] king , According to [G2596] all [G3956] as much as [G3745] seems good the [G3588] to our boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king , look [G2400], the [G3588] [we are] your servants [G3816][G1473].
16: And [G2532] went forth [G1831] the [G3588] king , and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473] the [G3588] [on] their feet [G4228][G1473]. And [G2532] left the [G3588] king ten [G1176] women [G1135] of the [G3588] his concubines [G1473] the [G3588] to guard [G5442] the [G3588] house [G3624].
17: And [G2532] went forth [G1831] the [G3588] king , and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] his people [G2992][G1473] by foot . And [G2532] they set up [G2476] in [G1722] a house [G3624] the [G3588] far [away [G3112].
18: And [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] his servants [G3816][G1473] by his hand [G5495][G1473] passed [G3855]. And [G2532] every [G3956] the [G3588] Cherethite, and [G2532] every [G3956] the [G3588] Pelethite, and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] Gittites -- six hundred [G1812] men the [G3588] having come [G2240] from out of [G1537] Gath by foot , were passing [G3899] in [G2596] front [G4383] of the [G3588] king .
19: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king to [G4314] Ittai the [G3588] Gittite, Why [G2444] should you go [G4198] even [G2532] yourself [G1473] with [G3326] us [G1473]? Return [G1994] and [G2532] live [G3611] with [G3326] the [G3588] king ! For [G3754] you are an alien yourself [G1473], and [G2532] because [G3754] you are displaced from out of [G1537] the [G3588] your place [G5117][G1473].
20: Since [G1487] yesterday [G5504] you came [G3854][G1473], then [G2532] today [G4594] will I move [G2795] you [G1473] the [G3588] to go [G4198] with [G3326] us [G1473]? And I [G1473][G1161] will go [G4198] where [G3739] ever I will go [G4198]. Go [G4198], and [G2532] return the [G3588] your brothers [G1473] with [G3326] you [G1473]! and [G2532] Boss '[G2962] will execute [G4160] with [G3326] you [G1473] an act of kindness [G1656] and [G2532] truth .
21: And [G2532] Ittai answered the [G3588] king , and [G2532] said [G2036], As BOSS lives [G2198][G2962], and [G2532] as lives [G2198] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king , that [G3754] unto [G1519] the [G3588] place [G5117] where [G3739] ever [G1437] might be the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king , and [G2532] if [G1437] unto [G1519] death [G2288], or [G2532] if [G1437] unto [G1519] life [G2222], that [G3754] there [G1563] will be the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473].
22: And [G2532] David said [G2036] to [G4314] Ittai, Go [G4198], and [G2532] pass over [G1224] with [G3326] me [G1473]! And [G2532] went [G3928] Ittai the [G3588] Gittite], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] men , the [G3588] [ones] with [G3326] him [G1473], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] his servants [G3816][G1473].
23: And [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] land '[G1093] wept [G2799] voice [G5456] [with a] great [G3173]. And [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] passed [G3899] through [G1722] the [G3588] rushing stream [G5493] of the [G3588] Kidron. And [G2532] the [G3588] king passed over [G1224] the [G3588] rushing stream [G5493] Kidron. And [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] came [G3899] unto [G1909] face [G4383] of way [G3598] [of] the [G3588] wilderness [G2048].
24: And [G2532] look [G2400], also [G2532] indeed [G1065] Zadok and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] Levites [were] with [G3326] him [G1473] lifting the [G3588] ark [G2787] of the [G3588] covenant [G1242] of the [G3588] God '[G2316]. And [G2532] they stationed [G2476] the [G3588] ark [G2787] of the [G3588] God '[G2316]. And [G2532] Abiathar went up until [G2193] ceased [G3973] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] going [G3928] out of [G1537] the [G3588] city [G4172].
25: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king to [G4314] Zadok, Return the [G3588] ark [G2787] of the [G3588] God '[G2316] unto [G1519] the [G3588] city [G4172]! If [G1437] I should find [G2147] favor [G5484] in [G1722] eyes [G3788] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] he returns [G1994] me [G1473], then [G2532] he will show [G1166] it to me [G1473][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] its beauty [G2143][G1473].
26: And [G2532] if [G1437] he should say [G2036] thus [G3779], I have no [G3756] want [G2309] in [G1722] you [G1473]; look [G2400], I [G1473], I let him do [G4160] to me [G1473] the [G3588] pleasing [thing] before [G1799] him [G1473].
27: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king the [G3588] to Zadok the [G3588] priest [G2409], look [at] [G1492], you [G1473] return [G1994] to [G1519] the [G3588] city [G4172] in [G1722] peace [G1515], and [G2532] Ahimaaz the [G3588] your son [G5207][G1473], and [G2532] Jonathan the [G3588] son [G5207] of Abiathar, the [G3588] two [G1417] sons [G5207] of yours [G1473] with [G3326] you [G1473]!
28: look [G2400], I [G1473] wait for [G4327] you [G1473] in [G1722] wilderness of the [G3588] desert [G2048] until [G2193] the [G3588] coming [G2064] of a word [G4487] by [G3844] you [G1473] the [G3588] to report to me [G1473].
29: And [G2532] returned Zadok and [G2532] Abiathar] the [G3588] ark [G2787] of the [G3588] God '[G2316] to [G1519] Jerusalem, and [G2532] it sat down [G2523] there [G1563].
30: And [G2532] David went up upon [G1909] the [G3588] ascent of the [G3588] olive [groves [G1636], going up and [G2532] weeping [G2799], and [G2532] the [G3588] his head [G2776] being covered over [G1943], and [G2532] he [G1473] went [G4198] barefoot . And [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992], the [G3588] [one] with [G3326] him [G1473], covered [G1943] each [G1538] man the [G3588] his head [G2776][G1473]. And [G2532] they ascended -- going up and [G2532] weeping [G2799].
31: And [G2532] it was announced [to the [G3588] David, saying [G3004], And [G2532] Ahithophel is among [G1722] the [G3588] [ones] confederating [G4962] with [G3326] Absalom. And [G2532] David said [G2036], O Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of me [G1473], efface indeed [G1211] the [G3588] counsel [G1012] of Ahithophel!
32: And [G2532] David was coming [G2064] unto [G2193] the [G3588] Ros, where [G3739] he did obeisance [G4352] there [G1563] the [G3588] to God '[G2316]. And [G2532] look [G2400], was come [G2240] for [G1519] meeting him [G1473] Hushai the [G3588] chief friend of David], tearing [G1284] the [G3588] his inner garment [G5509][G1473], with [G2532] land '[G1093] upon [G1909] the [G3588] his head [G2776][G1473].
33: And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] David], If [G1437] you should go through [G1330] with [G3326] me [G1473], then [G2532] you will be unto [G1909] me [G1473] a load [G5413].
34: If [G1437] into [G1519] the [G3588] city [G4172] you should return , then [G2532] you will say [G2046] the [G3588] to Absalom, servant [G3816] of you [G1473] I am , O king , allow [G1439] me [G1473] to live [G2198]! a servant [G3816] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of you [G1473] [for] I was then [G5119] and [G2532] just now , and [G2532] now [G3568] I [am [G1473] your servant [G1401][G1473]. And [by saying this [G2532] efface to me [G1473] the [G3588] counsel [G1012] of Ahithophel!
35: And [G2532] look [G2400], there [are [G1563] with [G3326] you [G1473] Zadok and [G2532] Abiathar the [G3588] priests [G2409]. And [G2532] it will be every [G3956] word [G4487] which [G3739] ever you should hear from out of [G1537] house [G3624] of the [G3588] king , that [G2532] you will report [it the [G3588] to Zadok and [G2532] the [G3588] Abiathar the [G3588] priests [G2409].
36: look [G2400], there [G1563] [are] with [G3326] them [G1473] two [G1417] sons [G5207] their [G1473], Ahimaaz the [G3588] son [G5207] of Zadok, and [G2532] Jonathan son [G5207] of the [G3588] Abiathar. And [G2532] you will send by [G1722] their hand [G5495][G1473] to [G4314] me [G1473] every [G3956] word [G4487] which [G3739] ever you should hear .
37: And [G2532] entered [G1525] the [G3588] friend [G2083] Hushai of David] into [G1519] the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] Absalom at present entered [G1531] into [G1519] Jerusalem.
