Nehemiah Chapter 2 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] month [G3376] of Nisan , year [G2094] twentieth of Artaxerxes king , that [G2532] was the [G3588] wine [G3631] before [G1799] him [G1473]. And [G2532] I took [G2983] the [G3588] wine [G3631] and [G2532] gave it [G1325] to the [G3588] king , and [G2532] no [G3756] there was other [G2087] before [G1799] him [G1473].
2: And [G2532] said [G2036] to me [G1473] the [G3588] king , Why [G1302] is the [G3588] face [G4383] of you [G1473] in a sorry state [G4190], and [G2532] you are not [G3756] content ? For [G2532] not [G3756] is this [G3778] unless [G1508] [there is] a sorrowful [G4189] heart [G2588]. And [G2532] I was afraid [G5399] much [G4183] exceedingly [G4970].
3: And [G2532] I said [G2036] to the [G3588] king , O the [G3588] king , into [G1519] the [G3588] age (term) ` Live [G2198]! Why [G1302] should not be [G1096] sorry [G4190] the [G3588] face [G4383] my [G1473], for [G1360] the [G3588] city [G4172], house [G3624] of sepulchres [G3419] of my fathers [G3962][G1473], was made desolate [G2049], and [G2532] the [G3588] its gates [G4439][G1473] were devoured by [G1722] fire [G4442]?
4: And [G2532] said [G2036] to me [G1473] the [G3588] king , For [G4012] what [G5100] [is] this [G3778] you [G1473] seek [G2212]? And [G2532] I prayed [G4336] to [G4314] Boss '[G2962] God '[G2316] of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772].
5: And [G2532] I said [G2036] to the [G3588] king , If [G1487] [it be] upon [G1909] the [G3588] king [for] good , and [G2532] if [G1487] will seem good the [G3588] servant [G3816] of you [G1473] before [G1799] you [G1473], so as [G5620] to send [G3992] him [G1473] to [G1722] Judah, to [G1519] city [G4172] of sepulchres [G3419] of my fathers [G3962][G1473], then [G2532] I will rebuild it [G1473].
6: And [G2532] said [G2036] to me [G1473] the [G3588] king , and [G2532] the [G3588] [his] concubine the [G3588] sitting [G2521] next to [G2192] him [G1473], For how long [G2193][G4219] will be the [G3588] going [G4197] you [G1473], and [G2532] when [G4219] will you return [G1994]? And [G2532] it was good before [G1799] the [G3588] king . And [G2532] he sent me [G1473], and [G2532] I gave [G1325] to him [G1473] a confirmation .
7: And [G2532] I said [G2036] to the [G3588] king , If [G1487] [it be] upon [G1909] the [G3588] king [for] good , let him give [G1325] to me [G1473] letters [G1992] to [G4314] the [G3588] chief rulers on the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river [G4215]! so as [G5620] to allow me to pass [G3855][G1473] until [G2193] I come [G2064] unto [G1909] Judah;
8: and [G2532] a letter [G1992] to [G1909] Asaph keeper [G5441] of the [G3588] garden [G3857], which [G3739] is to the [G3588] king , so as [G5620] to give [G1325] to me [G1473] wood [G3586] to roof the [G3588] gates [G4439] of the [G3588] palace of the [G3588] house [G3624], and [G2532] for [G1519] the [G3588] wall [G5038] of the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] for [G1519] house [G3624], for [G1519] which [G3739] I will enter [G1525] unto [G4314] it [G1473]. And [G2532] gave [G1325] to me [G1473] the [G3588] king by [G5613] hand [G5495] of God '[G2316] the [G3588] good upon [G1909] me [G1473].
9: And [G2532] I came [G2064] to [G4314] the [G3588] chief rulers on the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river [G4215], and [G2532] I gave [G1325] to them [G1473] the [G3588] letters [G1992] of the [G3588] king . And [G2532] sent with [G3326] me [G1473] the [G3588] king chiefs of force [G1411], and [G2532] horsemen [G2460].
10: And [G2532] heard [of it Sanballat the [G3588] Horonite], and [G2532] Tobiah the [G3588] servant [G1401], the [G3588] Ammonite, and [G2532] it was a bad [thing] [G4190] to them [G1473] [that it] happened [G1096]. And [G2532] they were grieved [G3076] that [G3754] comes [G2240] a man to seek [G2212] good to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel.
11: And [G2532] I came [G2064] unto [G1519] Jerusalem, and [G2532] I was there [G1563] days [G2250] three [G5140].
12: And [G2532] I rose up at night [G3571], I [G1473] and [G2532] men a few [G3641] with [G3326] me [G1473]. And [G2532] I did not [G3756] report to a man , for [G3754] the [G3588] God '[G2316] put it [G1325] into [G1519] my heart [G2588][G1473] the [G3588] to do [this [G4160] with [G3326] the [G3588] Jerusalem. And [G2532] beast [G2934] no [G3756] there is with [G3326] me [G1473], except [G1508] the [G3588] beast [G2934] which [G3739] I [G1473] mounted [G1910] upon [G1909] it [G1473].
13: And [G2532] I went forth [G1831] through [G1223] the [G3588] gate [G4439] of the [G3588] Gai at night [G3571] to [G4314] mouth [G4750] of spring [G4077] of the [G3588] serpent [G1404], and [G2532] to [G1519] gate [G4439] the [G3588] dung [G2874]. And [G2532] I was studying [G2657] the [G3588] walls [G5038] of Jerusalem, the [G3588] [ones] being torn down , and [G2532] the [G3588] her gates [G4439][G1473], the [G3588] [ones] having been consumed by fire [G4442].
14: And [G2532] I went [G3928] by [G1909] gate [G4439] of the [G3588] fountain [G4077], and [G2532] into [G1519] pool [G2861] of the [G3588] king . And [G2532] no [G3756] there was place [G5117] for the [G3588] beast [G2934] to pass [G3928] underneath [G5270] me [G1473].
15: And [G2532] I was going up by [G1223] the [G3588] rushing stream [G5493] at night [G3571]. And [G2532] I was studying [G2657] the [G3588] wall [G5038], and [G2532] I was at [G1722] the [G3588] gate [G4439] of the [G3588] ravine [G5327], and [G2532] I returned [G1994].
16: And [G2532] the [G3588] [ones] guarding [G5442] did not [G3756] know [G1097] why [G5100] I went [G4198], and [G2532] what [G5100] I [G1473] was doing [G4160]. And [G2532] to the [G3588] Jews, and [G2532] to the [G3588] priests [G2409], and [G2532] to the [G3588] important [ones [G1784], and [G2532] to the [G3588] commandants [G4755], and [G2532] to the [G3588] rest [G2645] of the [G3588] [ones] doing [G4160] the [G3588] works [G2041] until [G2193] then [G5119], I did not [G3756] report .
17: Then [G2532] I said [G2036] to [G4314] them [G1473], You [G1473] see the [G3588] this wickedness [G4189][G3778] in [G1722] which [G3739] we are in it [G1722][G1473], how [G4459] Jerusalem [is] desolate [G2048], and [G2532] the [G3588] its gates [G4439][G1473] were given [G1325] to fire [G4442]. Come [G1205], and [G2532] let us build throughout the [G3588] wall [G5038] of Jerusalem! and [G2532] we will not [G3756] be any longer [G2089] for scorn [G3681].
18: And [G2532] I reported to them [G1473] the [G3588] hand [G5495] of the [G3588] God '[G2316] which [G3739] is good upon [G1909] me [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] words [G3056] of the [G3588] king which [G3739] he spoke [G2036] to me [G1473]. And [G2532] they said [G2036], Let us arise and [G2532] build [G3618]! And [G2532] were fortified [G2901] the [G3588]ir hands [G5495][G1473] for [G1519] the [G3588] good .
19: And [G2532] heard Sanaballat the [G3588] Horonite], and [G2532] Tobiah the [G3588] servant [G1401], the [G3588] Ammonite, and [G2532] Geshem the [G3588] Arab. And [G2532] they laughed out loud at us [G1473], and [G2532] they disdained [G2706] us [G1473], and [G2532] they said [G2036], What [is [G5100] the [G3588] this thing [G4487][G3778] which [G3739] you [G1473] are doing [G4160]? or [is it [G2228] against [G1909] the [G3588] king [that] you [are [G1473] defecting ?
20: And [G2532] I returned [G1994] to them [G1473] a word [G3056], and [G2532] I said [G2036] to them [G1473], the [G3588] God '[G2316] of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], he [G1473] will prosper the way [G2137] for us [G1473]. And [G2532] we [G1473] his servants [G1401][G1473] are pure [G2513], and [G2532] we will arise and [G2532] build [G3618], and [G2532] to you [G1473] there is no [G3756] portion [G3310], [nor [G2532] judicial right [G1343], [nor [G2532] a memorial [G3422] in [G1722] Jerusalem.
