Luke Chapter 20 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] one [G1520] of the [G3588] those days [G2250][G1565], of his teaching [G1321][G1473] the [G3588] people [G2992] in [G1722] the [G3588] temple [G2413], and [G2532] good-word-conveying (evangelizing) '[G2097], stood by [G2186] the [G3588] chief priests and [G2532] the [G3588] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613])] with [G4862] the [G3588] elders [G4245],
2: and [G2532] they spoke [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473], saying [G3004], Tell [G2036] us [G1473]! by [G1722] what kind [G4169] of authority [G1849] do you do these [things] [G3778][G4160]? or [G2228] who [G5100] is the [G3588] [one] having given [G1325] to you [G1473] the [G3588] this authority [G1849][G3778]?
3: And answering [G1161] he said [G2036] to [G4314] them [G1473], will ask [G2065] you [G1473] And I [G2504] one [G1520] word [G3056], and [G2532] you tell [G2036] to me [G1473]!
4: The [G3588] submergence of John, from [G1537] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] was it , or [G2228] from [G1537] men ?
5: And the [G3588][G1161] they reckoned [G4817] to [G4314] themselves [G1438], saying [G3004] that [G3754], If [G1437] we should say [G2036] from [G1537] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772]; he will say [G2046], Therefore [G1223] why [G5100] then [G3767] did you not [G3756] trust '[G4100] in him [G1473]?
6: And if [G1437][G1161] we should say [G2036], From [G1537] men ; all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] will completely stone [G2642] us [G1473]; persuaded [G3982] for [G1063] they are John to be a prophet [G4396].
7: And [G2532] they answered , We do not know [G3361][G1492] from where [G4159].
8: And [G2532] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]) said [G2036] to them [G1473], Nor [G3761] do I [G1473] say [G3004] to you [G1473] by [G1722] what [G4169] authority [G1849] I do these [things] [G3778][G4160].
9: And he began [G1161] to [G4314] the [G3588] people [G2992] to speak [G3004] the [G3588] this paralell '[G3850][G3778], A man certain [G5100] planted [G5452] a vineyard , and [G2532] handed it over to [G1554][G1473] growers [G1092], and [G2532] traveled abroad of time [G5550] a fit [amount [G2425].
10: And [G2532] in [G1722] season [G2540] he sent to [G4314] the [G3588] growers [G1092] a servant [G1401] that [G2443] from the [G3588] fruit [G2590] of the [G3588] vineyard they might give [G1325] to him [G1473]; but the [G3588][G1161] growers [G1092] having flayed [G1194] him [G1473], sent [him] away [G1821] empty [G2756].
11: And [G2532] he proceeded [G4369] to send forth [G3992] another [G2087] servant [G1401]; but they the [G3588][G1161] that one also [G2548] having flayed [G1194] and [G2532] dishonoring [him , sent [him] away [G1821] empty [G2756].
12: And [G2532] he proceeded [G4369] to send forth [G3992] a third [G5154]; but they the [G3588][G1161] also [G2532] this one [G3778] having wounded [G5135], cast [him] out [G1544].
13: said [G2036] And [G1161] the [G3588] boss [G2962] of the [G3588] vineyard , What [G5100] will I do [G4160]? I will send forth [G3992] the [G3588] my son [G5207][G1473], the [G3588] beloved ; perhaps [G2481] looking [at] this one [G3778][G1492] they will show respect [G1788].
14: But looking [at] [G1492][G1161] him [G1473], the [G3588] growers [G1092] reasoned [G1260] to [G4314] themselves [G1438], saying [G3004], This [G3778] is the [G3588] heir [G2818]. Come [G1205], we should kill him [G1473], that [G2443] becomes ours [G1473][G1096] the [G3588] inheritance [G2817].
15: And [G2532] having cast [G1544] him [G1473] outside [G1854] the [G3588] vineyard they killed [him . What [G5100] then [G3767] will do [G4160] to them [G1473] the [G3588] boss [G2962] of the [G3588] vineyard ?
16: He will come [G2064] and [G2532] will destroy the [G3588] those growers [G1092][G3778], and [G2532] he will give [G1325] the [G3588] vineyard to others . And having heard [G1161], they said [G2036], May it not be [G3361][G1096].
17: And the [G3588] looking [G1689] to them [G1473], he said [G2036], What [G5100] then [G3767] is the [G3588] this having been written [G1125][G3778], stone [G3037] which [G3739] rejected the [G3588] [ones] building [G3618], this [G3778] is become [G1096] for [G1519] head [G2776] of corner [G1137].
18: Every [one [G3956] the [G3588] falling [G4098] upon [G1909] that [G1565] the [G3588] stone [G3037] will be fractured in pieces [G4917], upon [G1909] whom [G3739] but [G1161] ever it should fall [G4098], it will winnow [G3039] him [G1473].
19: And [G2532] sought [G2212] the [G3588] chief priests and [G2532] the [G3588] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613])] to put [G1911] upon [G1909] him [G1473] the [G3588] hands [G5495] in [G1722] that same [G1473] the [G3588] hour [G5610], and [G2532] they feared [G5399]; for they knew [G1097][G1063] that [G3754] against [G4314] them [G1473] the [G3588] this paralell '[G3850][G3778] he spoke [G2036].
20: And [G2532] closely watching [G3906], they sent ones lying in wait [G1455], stage-acting [G5271] themselves [G1438] to be righteous [G1342], that [G2443] they should take hold of [G1949] of him '[G1473] word [G3056] for [G1519] the [G3588] delivering him up [G3860][G1473] to the [G3588] sovereignty , and [G2532] to the [G3588] authority [G1849] of the [G3588] governor [G2232].
21: And [G2532] they questioned [G1905] him [G1473], saying [G3004], Teacher [G1320] ["Rabbi [G4461]" John 1:38], we know [G1492] that [G3754] rightly [G3723] you speak [G3004] and [G2532] teach [G1321], and [G2532] do not [G3756] take [G2983] face [G4383], but in [G1909] truth the [G3588] way [G3598] of the [G3588] God '[G2316] you teach [G1321].
22: Is it allowed [G1832] for us [G1473] to Caesar tribute [G5411] to give [G1325] or [G2228] not [G3756]?
23: But contemplating [G2657][G1161] their [G1473] the [G3588] cunning [G3834], he said [G2036] to [G4314] them [G1473], Why [G5100] do you test me [G1473][G3985]?
24: Display [G1925] to me [G1473] a denarius [G1220]; whose [G5100] [does] it have [G2192] image [G1504] and [G2532] inscription [G1923]? And answering [G1161] they said [G2036], Caesar.
25: And the [G3588][G1161] he said [G2036] to them [G1473], Give back therefore [G5106] the [things] [G3588] of Caesar to Caesar, and [G2532] the [things] [G3588] of the [G3588] God '[G2316] the [G3588] to God '[G2316].
26: And [G2532] they were not able [G3756][G2480] to take hold of [G1949] of him '[G1473] saying [G4487] before [G1726] the [G3588] people [G2992]; and [G2532] marveling [G2296] over [G1909] the [G3588] his answer [G1473], they were quiet [G4601].
27: But coming forward [G4334], a certain one [G5100] of the [G3588] Sadducees, the [G3588] [ones] speaking against a resurrection , [claiming] it not [G3361] to be , asked [G1905] him [G1473],
28: saying [G3004], Teacher [G1320] ["Rabbi [G4461]" John 1:38], Moses wrote [G1125] to us [G1473], If [G1437] anyone's [G5100] brother should die having [G2192] a wife [G1135], and [G2532] he [G3778] childless should die , that [G2443] should take [G2983] the [G3588] brother of him [G1473] the [G3588] wife [G1135], and [G2532] should raise up [G1817] seed [G4690] [to the [G3588] brother of him [G1473].
29: then seven [G2033][G3767] brothers There were , and [G2532] the [G3588] first [G4413] having taken [G2983] a wife [G1135] died childless .
30: And [G2532] took [G2983] the [G3588] second [G1208] the [G3588] wife [G1135], and [G2532] he [G3778] died childless .
31: And [G2532] the [G3588] third [G5154] took [G2983] her [G1473], and likewise [G5615][G1161] also [G2532] the [G3588] seven [G2033]; and [G2532] they did not [G3756] leave [G2641] children [G5043], and [G2532] they died .
32: And afterwards [G5305][G1161] all [G3956] died and [G2532] the [G3588] woman [G1135].
33: In [G1722] then the [G3588][G3767] resurrection , which [G5100] of them [G1473] [does] she become [G1096] wife [G1135]? for the [G3588][G1063] seven [G2033] had [G2192] her [G1473] as wife [G1135].
34: And [G2532] answering said [G2036] to them [G1473] the [G3588] Jesus [G2424] ("I AM Salvation, successor to Moses" [H3091]), the [G3588] sons [G5207] of the [G3588] this age (term) `[G3778] marry [G1060] and [G2532] give in marriage [G1548].
35: But the [G3588] [ones] [G1161] being deemed worthy [G2661] of the [G3588] that age (term) `[G1565] to attain [G5177] and [G2532] of the [G3588] resurrection of the [G3588] [ones] from [G1537] dead [G3498], neither [G3777] marry [G1060] nor [G3777] give in marriage [G1547].
36: For neither [G3777][G1063] to die any longer [G2089] are they able [G1410], like angels [G2465] for [G1063] they are , and [G2532] they are sons [G5207] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], of the [G3588] resurrection sons [G5207] being .
37: But that [G3754][G1161] be raised [G1453] the [G3588] dead [G3498], even [G2532] Moses indicated [G3377] at [G1909] the [G3588] bush , as [G5613] he says [G3004], Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Abraham, and [G2532] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Isaac, and [G2532] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Jacob.
38: But God '[G2316][G1161] not [G3756] is of dead [G3498], but of living ones [G2198]; for all [G3956][G1063] live to him [G1473][G2198].
39: And answering [G1161] some [G5100] of the [G3588] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]) said [G2036], Teacher [G1320] ["Rabbi [G4461]" John 1:38], well [G2573] you spoke [G2036].
40: And no longer [G3765][G1161] they dared [G5111] to ask [G1905] him [G1473] anything [G3762].
41: And he said [G2036][G1161] to [G4314] them [G1473], How [G4459] do they say [G3004] the [G3588] [one] Anointed '[G5547] son [G5207] of David to be ?
42: And [G2532] he [G1473], David says [G3004] in [G1722] book of Psalms [G5568]; said [G2036] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] [to the [G3588] my Boss '[G2962][G1473], sit down [G2521] at [G1537] my right [G1188][G1473],
43: until [G2193] whenever I put [G5087] the [G3588] enemies [G2190] of you [G1473] as a footstool [G5286] for the [G3588] your feet [G4228][G1473].
44: David then [G3767] him Boss '[G2962][G1473] calls [G2564], so [G2532] how [G4459] son [G5207] of him [G1473] is he ?
45: hearing And [G1161] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992], he said [G2036] [to the [G3588] his trainees '[G3101][G1473],
46: Take heed [G4337] off the [G3588] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]), of the [G3588] [ones] wanting [G2309] to walk [G4043] in [G1722] robes [G4749], and [G2532] being fond of [G5368] greetings in [G1722] the [G3588] markets , and [G2532] first seats [G4410] in [G1722] the [G3588] synagogues [G4864], and [G2532] first place [G4411] in [G1722] the [G3588] suppers [G1173];
47: the ones who [G3739] devour [G2719] the [G3588] houses [G3614] of the [G3588] widows [G5503], and [G2532] for an excuse [G4392] long [G3117] they pray [G4336]. These [G3778] will receive [G2983] extra [G4053] judgment [G2917].
