1: In [G1722] the [G3588] eighteenth year [G2094] of the [G3588] government ' of Jeroboam, Abijah took reign over [G1909] Judah.
2: Three [G5140] years [G2094] he reigned in [G1722] Jerusalem. And [G2532] name [G3686] of the [G3588] his mother [G3384][G1473] [was] Michaiah daughter [G2364] of Uriel off Gibeah. And [G2532] there was war [G4171] between Abijah and [G2532] between Jeroboam.
3: And [G2532] Abijah deployed for the [G3588] war [G4171] with [G1722] a force [G1411] of warriors of power [G1411] -- four hundred [G5071] thousand [G5505] men chosen [G1588]. And [G2532] Jeroboam deployed against [G4314] him [G1473] for war [G4171] with [G1722] eight hundred thousand [G5505] men chosen [G1588], mighty [G1415] warriors of power [G1411].
4: And [G2532] Abijah rose up from the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] Zemaraim, which [G3739] is in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] Ephraim, and [G2532] said [G2036], Hear me [G1473], Jeroboam and [G2532] all [G3956] Israel!
5: [Is it] not [G3756] to you [G1473] to know [G1097] that [G3754] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel appointed [G1325] government ' [to the [G3588] David over [G1909] Israel into [G1519] the [G3588] age (term) `, and [G2532] [to the [G3588] his sons [G5207][G1473] for [G1519] a covenant [G1242] of salt ?
6: And [G2532] rose up Jeroboam the [G3588] [son of the [G3588] Nebat], the [G3588] servant [G3816] of Solomon son [G5207] of David, and [G2532] revolted from the [G3588] his boss [G2962][G1473].
7: And [G2532] there gathered together [G4863] with [G4314] him [G1473] men mischievous [G3061], sons [G5207] of lawbreakers , and [G2532] they grew in strength [G1765] against [G1909] Rehoboam son [G5207] of Solomon, and [G2532] Rehoboam was younger [G3501] and [G2532] timid [G1169] the [G3588] in heart [G2588], and [G2532] he did not [G3756] fortify [G2901] against [G2596] their face [G4383][G1473].
8: And [G2532] now [G3568] you [G1473] speak [G3004] to oppose against [G2596] face [G4383] of government ' of Boss '[G2962] in [G1223] hand [G5495] of sons [G5207] of David, and [G2532] you [are [G1473] multitude [G4128] a vast [G4183], and [G2532] with [G3326] you [G1473] calves [G3448] of gold [G5552] which [G3739] made [G4160] for you [G1473] Jeroboam] as [G1519] gods '[G2316].
9: Or [G2228] did you not [G3756] cast out [G1544] the [G3588] priests [G2409] of Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Aaron, and [G2532] the [G3588] Levites; and [G2532] you made [G4160] to yourselves [G1438] priests [G2409] from [G1537] the [G3588] people [G2992] of the [G3588] land '[G1093]? Even every one [G3956] the [G3588] approaching [G4365] the [G3588] filling [G4137] the [G3588] his hand [G5495][G1473] with [G1722] a calf [G3448], [an offspring [G5207] of herd , and [G2532] rams seven [G2033], and [G2532] he becomes [G1096] as [G1519] a priest [G2409] to the [one] the [G3588] not [G3361] being God '[G2316].
10: And [G2532] we [G1473] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473] did not [G3756] abandon [G1459]. And [G2532] the [G3588] his priests [G2409][G1473] officiate [G3008] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Aaron and [G2532] the [G3588] Levites in [G1722] the [G3588]ir daily rotations [G2183][G1473].
11: And [G2532] they burn [G2370] [to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] whole burnt-offerings morning [G4404] [by] morning [G4404], and [G2532] the [G3588] evening [G2073] to evening [G2073], and [G2532] [they have the] incense [G2368] composition , and [G2532] place settings [G4286] of bread [loaves upon [G1909] the [G3588] table [G5132] the [G3588] pure [G2513], and [G2532] the [G3588] lamp-stand [G3087] the [G3588] gold [G5552], and [G2532] the [G3588] its lamps [G3088][G1473] the [G3588] to light the [G3588] evening [G2073] [by] evening [G2073]. For [G3754] we guard [G5442] the [G3588] watch [G5438] of Boss '[G2962], the [G3588] God '[G2316] of the [G3588] fathers [G3962] of us [G1473]; but you [G1473][G1161] abandoned [G1459] him [G1473].
12: And [G2532] look [G2400], with [G3326] us [G1473] as [G1722] head [is the] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] the [G3588] his priests [G2409][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] trumpets [G4536] the [G3588] signal the [G3588] to signify [G4591] against [G1909] you [G1473]. Sons [G5207] of Israel, you should not wage war [G3361][G4170] against [G4314] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473]; for [G3754] your ways will not be prospered [G3756][G2137].
13: And [G2532] Jeroboam circled [G4033] the [G3588] an ambush [G1749] to come [G2064] from behind them [G1473]. And [G2532] they were in front of [G1715] Judah, and [G2532] the [G3588] ambush [G1749] [was] from [G1537] the [places [G3588] behind [G3694].
14: And [G2532] Judah turned , and [G2532] look [G2400], the [G3588] battle [G4171] [was] against them [G1473] from [G1537] the [places [G3588] in front [G1715] and [G2532] from [G1537] the [places [G3588] posterior [G3693]. And [G2532] they yelled to [G4314] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] the [G3588] priests [G2409] trumped [G4537] the [G3588] trumpets [G4536].
15: And [G2532] shouted men of Judah]. And [G2532] it happened [G1096] when [G3753] shouted men of Judah], that [G2532] Boss '[G2962] struck [G3960] the [G3588] Jeroboam and [G2532] the [G3588] Israel before [G1726] Abijah and [G2532] Judah.
16: And [G2532] fled [G5343] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] from face [G4383] of Judah, and [G2532] delivered [G3860] them [G1473] Boss '[G2962] into [G1519] the [G3588]ir hands [G5495][G1473].
17: And [G2532] struck [G3960][G1722] them [G1473] Abijah and [G2532] the [G3588] his people [G2992][G1473] calamity [G4127] [with] a great [G3173]. And [G2532] there fell [G4098] slain off Israel -- five hundred [G4001] thousand [G5505] men mighty [G1415].
18: And [G2532] were abased [G5013] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] in [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565], and [G2532] grew strong [G2729] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Judah], for [G3754] they hoped [G1679] upon [G1909] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of the [G3588]ir fathers [G3962][G1473].
19: And [G2532] Abijah pursued [G2614] after [G3694] Jeroboam, and [G2532] first took from [G3844] him [G1473] cities [G4172] of the [G3588] Beth-el and [G2532] the [G3588] her towns [G2968][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] Jeshanah and [G2532] the [G3588] her towns [G2968][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] Ephrain and [G2532] the [G3588] her towns [G2968][G1473].
20: And [G2532] did not [G3756] have [G2192] strength [G2479] Jeroboam] any more [G2089] [during] all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250] of Abijah. And [G2532] struck [G3960] him [G1473] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] he died .
21: And [G2532] Abijah grew strong [G2729], and [G2532] took [G2983] for himself [G1438] wives [G1135] fourteen [G1180], and [G2532] engendered [G1080] twenty [G1501] and [G2532] two [G1417] sons [G5207], and [G2532] sixteen daughters [G2364].
22: And [G2532] the [G3588] rest [G3062] of the [G3588] words [G3056] of Abijah, and [G2532] the [G3588] his actions [G4234][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his words [G3056][G1473], are written [G1125] upon [G1909] scroll in [G1722] the [G3588] inquiry [G1567] of Iddo the [G3588] prophet [G4396].
