Nehemiah Chapter 6 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] as [G2531] Sanballat heard the [G3588], and [G2532] the [G3588] Tobiah, and [G2532] the [G3588] Geshem the [G3588] Arabian, and [G2532] the [G3588] rest [G2645] of the [G3588] our enemies [G2190][G1473], that [G3754] I built [G3618] the [G3588] wall [G5038], that [G2532] there was no [G3756] left [G2641] in [G1722] it [G1473] breach ; (and [G2532] indeed [G1065] until [G2193] the [G3588] that time [G2540][G1565] doors [G2374] I did not [G3756] set up [G2186] in [G1722] the [G3588] gates [G4439])
2: that [G2532] sent Sanballat and [G2532] Geshem] to [G4314] me [G1473], saying [G3004], Come [G1204], for [G2532] we should come [G4863] together [G1909] the [G3588][G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] towns [G2968] in [G1722] plain of Ono! But [G2532] they [G1473] were considering [G3049] against me [G1473] to do [G4160] harm [G4189].
3: And [G2532] I sent unto [G1909] them [G1473] word-conveyers (messengers) ', saying [G3004], work [G2041] [is] great [G3173] [that] I [G1473] do [G4160], and [G2532] I am not able [G3756][G1410] to go down [G2597], lest at any time [G3379] should rest [G2664] the [G3588] work [G2041]; when [G5613] ever I will perfect [G5048] it [G1473], I will go down [G2597] to [G4314] you [G1473].
4: And [G2532] they sent to [G4314] me [G1473] as [G5613] the [G3588] this saying [G4487][G3778] four [G5064] returns ; and [G2532] I sent to them [G1473] according to [G2596] the [G3588] this word [G3056][G3778].
5: And [G2532] sent to [G4314] me [G1473] Sanballat] according to [G2596] the [G3588] this word [G3056][G3778] the [G3588] fifth [time] [G3991] [by] his servant [G3816][G1438], and [G2532] a letter [G1992] being open [was] in [G1722] his hand [G5495][G1473].
6: And [G2532] was written [G1125] on [G1722] it [G1473], Among [G1722] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] it was heard , and [G2532] Geshem said [G2036] that [G3754] you [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] Jews are considering [G3049] to defect . On account of [G1223] this [G3778] you [G1473] are building [G3618] the [G3588] wall [G5038], and [G2532] you [G1473] should be [G1096] to them [G1473] for [G1519] king .
7: And [G2532] to [G4314] these [things] [G3778] prophets [G4396] you established [G2476] to yourself [G4572] to proclaim [G2784] for [G4012] you [G1473] in [G1722] Jerusalem, saying [G3004] that [G3754] you reigned in [G1722] Judea. And [G2532] now [G3568] will be reported to the [G3588] king the [G3588] words [G3056] these [G3778]. And [G2532] now [G3568] come [G1204] we should consult [G1011] together [G1909] the [G3588][G1473].
8: And [G2532] I sent to [G4314] him [G1473], saying [G3004], It happened not [G3756][G1096] as [G5613] the [G3588] words [G3056] these [G3778] which [G3779] you [G1473] say [G3004], for [G3754] from heart [G2588] you [G1473] lie [G5574] about them [G1473].
9: For [G3754] all [G3956] were throwing us into fear [G1473], saying [G3004], will be made faint [G1590] the [G3588]ir hands [G5495][G1473] from the [G3588] this work [G2041][G3778], and [G2532] it will not [G3756] be done [G4160]. And [G2532] now [G3568] I strengthened [G2901] the [G3588] my hands [G5495][G1473].
10: And I [G2504] entered [G1525] into [G1519] house [G3624] of Shemaiah son [G5207] of Dalaiah, son [G5207] of Mehetabeel, and [G2532] he [G1473] was constrained [G4912]; and [G2532] he said [G2036], We should gather together [G4863] in [G1519] house [G3624] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], in [G1722] midst [G3319] of it [G1473], and [G2532] we should lock [G2808] the [G3588] its doors [G2374][G1473], for [G3754] they are coming [G2064] by night [G3571] to murder [G5407] you [G1473].
11: And [G2532] I said [G2036], Who [G5100] is the [G3588] man such as [G3634] I [G1473] that will flee [G5343]? Or [G2228] who [G5100] such as [G3634] I [G1473] will enter [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3624] and [G2532] will live [G2198]?
12: I will not enter [G3756][G1525]. And [G2532] I realized [G1921], and [G2532] look [G2400], the [G3588] God '[G2316] did not [G3756] send him [G1473], for [G3754] the [G3588] prophesy [G4394] [was] a word [G3056] against [G2596] me [G1473]. And [G2532] Tobiah and [G2532] Sanballat hired [G3409] him [G1473],
13: so that [G3704] I should fear [G5399], and [G2532] should do [G4160] thus [G3779], and [G2532] should sin , and [G2532] [that] I should become [G1096] to them [G1473] for [G1519] name [G3686] a bad [G4190], so as [G3704] to berate [G3679] me [G1473].
14: Remember [G3403], O the [G3588] God '[G2316] of me [G1473], the [G3588] Tobiah and [G2532] the [G3588] Sanballat! according to [G5613] the [G3588]ir actions [G4161][G1473] these [G3778], and [G2532] the [G3588] Noadiah the [G3588] prophet [G4396], and [G2532] to the [G3588] rest [G2645] of the [G3588] prophets [G4396] who [G3739] were throwing me into fear [G1473].
15: And [G2532] was finished [G5055] the [G3588] wall [G5038] fifth [G3991] and [G2532] twentieth of the [G3588] Elul month [G3376], in [G1519] fifty [G4004] two [G1417] days [G2250].
16: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] when [G2259] heard all [G3956] the [G3588] our enemies [G2190][G1473], that [G2532] feared [G5399] all [G3956] the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] the [G3588] round about [G2945] us [G1473], and [G2532] fell upon [G1968] fear [G5401] great [G3173] an exceedingly [G4970] [G1722] their eyes [G3788][G1473]. And [G2532] they knew [G1097] that [G3754] by [G3844] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of ours [G1473] was [G1096] perfected [G5048] the [G3588] work [G2041] this [G3778].
17: And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] those days [G2250][G1565] from many [G4183] important [men [G1784] of Judah letters [G1992] went [G4198] to [G4314] Tobiah, and [G2532] [those the [G3588] of Tobiah came [G2064] to [G4314] them [G1473].
18: For [G3754] many [G4183] in [G1722] Judah bound by an oath were to him [G1473], for [G3754] son-in-law he was the [G3588] of Shechaniah son [G5207] of Arah. And [G2532] Johanan son [G5207] of him [G1473] took [G2983] the [G3588] daughter [G2364] of Meshullam, son [G5207] of Berechiah for [G1519] wife [G1135].
19: And indeed [G2532][G1065] the [things] [G3588] being advantageous to him [G4851][G1473] he spoke [G3004] before [G1799] me [G1473]; and [G2532] my words [G3056][G1473] they were bringing [G1627] to him [G1473]. And [G2532] letters [G1992] sent Tobiah] to throw me into fear [G1473].
