2 Samuel Chapter 19 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] it was announced the [G3588] to Joab, saying [G3004], look [G2400], the [G3588] king weeps [G2799] and [G2532] mourns [G3996] over [G1909] Absalom.
2: And [G2532] became [G1096] the [G3588] deliverance [G4991] in [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565] for [G1519] mourning [G3997] to all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992]. For [G3754] heard the [G3588] people [G2992] [G1722] the [G3588] in that day [G2250][G1565], saying [G3004] that [G3754], frets [G3076] the [G3588] king for [G4012] the [G3588] son [G5207] of him [G1473].
3: And [G2532] stole away the [G3588] people [G2992] in [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565] the [G3588] to enter [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] city [G4172], as [G2531] steal away the [G3588] people [G2992] the [G3588] being shamed in [G1722] the [G3588]ir fleeing [G5343][G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] battle [G4171].
4: And [G2532] the [G3588] king hid [G2928] the [G3588] his face [G4383][G1473], and [G2532] cried out [G2896] the [G3588] king voice [G5456] [with] a great [G3173], saying [G3004], O my son [G5207][G1473], Absalom. Absalom, O my son [G5207][G1473].
5: And [G2532] Joab entered [G1525] to [G4314] the [G3588] king into [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3624], and [G2532] said [G2036], You disgraced [G2617][G1473] today [G4594] the [G3588] faces [G4383] of all [G3956] the [G3588] your servants [G3816][G1473], of the [G3588] [ones] delivering [G1295] the [G3588] your life [G5590][G1473] today [G4594], and [G2532] the [G3588] life [G5590] of the [G3588] your sons [G5207][G1473], and [G2532] of the [G3588] your daughters [G2364][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] life [G5590] of the [G3588] your wives [G1135][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] life [G5590] of the [G3588] your concubines [G1473],
6: the [G3588] to love the [G3588] [ones] detesting [G3404] you [G1473], and [G2532] to detest [G3404] the [G3588] [ones] loving you [G1473], that [G3754] you identify today [G4594] that [G3754] are nothing [G3756] to you [G1473] your rulers , nor [G3761] [your] servants [G3816]. For [G3754] I know [G1492] that [G3754] Absalom, if [G1487] he [were] alive [G2198] today [G4594], and [G2532] even all [G3956] we [G1473] had died , that [G3754] then [G5119] it would have been pleasing before [G1799] you [G1473].
7: And [G2532] now [G3568] arise ! go forth [G1831] and [G2532] speak [G2980] unto [G1909] the [G3588] heart [G2588] of the [G3588] your servants [G3816][G1473]! for [G3754] by [G1722] Boss '[G2962] I swear by an oath [G3660], that [G3754] unless [G1508] you [G1473] should go forth [G1607], in no way should remain [G3306] a man with [G3326] you [G1473] the [G3588] this night [G3571][G3778]. And [G2532] realize [G1921] this [G3778] in yourself [G4572]! that [G3754] evil [G2556] [will be upon] you [G1473] this [G3778] over [G5228] all [G3956] the [G3588] evil [G2556] the [G3588] coming upon [G1904] you [G1473] from [G1537] your youth [G3503][G1473] until [G2193] the [G3588] now [G3568].
8: And [G2532] rose up the [G3588] king , and [G2532] he sat down [G2523] at [G1909] the [G3588] gate [G4439]. And [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] announced , saying [G3004], look [G2400], the [G3588] king sits down [G2521] at [G1722] the [G3588] gate [G4439]. And [G2532] came [G3854] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] before [G1799] the [G3588] king . And [G2532] Israel fled [G5343], each [G1538] to [G1519] the [G3588] his tent [G4638][G1473].
9: And [G2532] were all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] arguing [G1252] among [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] tribes [G5443] of Israel, saying [G3004], the [G3588] King David rescued [G4506] us [G1473] from [G1537] hand [G5495] of all [G3956] the [G3588] our enemies [G2190][G1473], and [G2532] he [G1473] delivered [G1807] us [G1473] from [G1537] hand [G5495] of the [G3588] Philistines . And [G2532] now [G3568] he fled [G5343] from the [G3588] land '[G1093].
10: And [G2532] Absalom, whom [G3739] we anointed [G5548] over [G1909] us [G1473], died in [G1722] the [G3588] war [G4171]. And [G2532] now [G3568], why [G2444] are you [G1473] silent the [G3588] to return [G1994] the [G3588] king ? And [G2532] the [G3588] saying [G4487] by all [G3956] Israel came [G2064] to [G4314] the [G3588] king .
11: And [G2532] the [G3588] king David sent to [G4314] Zadok and [G2532] to [G4314] Abiathar the [G3588] priests [G2409], saying [G3004], Speak [G2980] to [G4314] the [G3588] elders [G4245] of Judah! saying [G3004], Why [G2444] have you become [G1096] last [G2078] the [G3588] to return [G1994] the [G3588] king to [G1519] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473]? And [G2532] the [G3588] word [G3056] of all [G3956] Israel came [G2064] to [G4314] the [G3588] king .
12: brothers my [G1473] You [are [G1473], of my bones [G3747][G1473] and [G2532] of my flesh [G4561]. Why [G2444] have you become [G1096] for [G1519] the [G3588] last ones [G2078] the [G3588] to return [G1994] the [G3588] king to [G1519] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473]?
13: And [G2532] [to the [G3588] Amasa you will say [G2046], Are not [G3780] of my bone [G3747][G1473] and [G2532] of my flesh [G4561][G1473] you [G1473]? And [G2532] now [G3568], thus [G3592] may do [G4160] to me [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] thus [G3592] add [more [G4369], if not [G1508] ruler of force [G1411] you will be before [G1799] me [G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250] instead of Joab.
14: And [G2532] he leaned [G2827] the [G3588] heart [G2588] of every [G3956] man of Judah, as [G5613] man one [G1520]. And [G2532] they sent to [G4314] the [G3588] king , saying [G3004], You return [G1994][G1473], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] your servants [G3816][G1473]!
15: And [G2532] returned [G1994] the [G3588] king , and [G2532] came [G2064] unto [G2193] the [G3588] Jordan. And [G2532] men of Judah came [G2064] to [G1519] Gilgal the [G3588] to go [G4198] to [G1519] meet the [G3588] king , the [G3588] to cause to pass over the [G3588] king the [G3588] Jordan.
16: And [G2532] hastened Shimei son [G5207] of Gera son [G5207] of the [G3588] Benjaminite from [G1537] Bahurim], and [G2532] he went down [G2597] with [G3326] the [G3588] men of Judah to [G1519] meet the [G3588] king David.
17: And [G2532] [there were] a thousand [G5507] men with [G3326] him [G1473] from [G1537] the [G3588] Benjamin, and [G2532] Ziba the [G3588] servant [G3808] of the [G3588] house [G3624] of Saul, and [G2532] fifteen sons [G5207] of him '[G1473], and [G2532] twenty [G1501] servants [G1401] of him '[G1473] with [G3326] him [G1473]. And [G2532] they went straight [G2720] unto [G1909] the [G3588] Jordan before [G1799] the [G3588] king .
18: And [G2532] he passed over [G1224] for the [G3588]d the [G3588] to arouse [G1825] the [G3588] household [G3624] of the [G3588] king , and [G2532] the [G3588] to do [G4160] the [G3588] upright [thing] in [G1722] his eyes [G3788][G1473]. And [G2532] Shimei son [G5207] of Gera fell [G4098] upon [G1909] his face [G4383][G1473] before [G1799] the [G3588] king , at his passing over [G1224][G1473] the [G3588] Jordan.
19: And [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] king , Let not [G3361] indeed [G1211] consider [G3049] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] [my] lawlessness ! and [G2532] remember not [G3361][G3403] as much as [G3745] did wrong the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] day [G2250] which [G3739] went forth [G1607] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king from [G1537] Jerusalem, the [G3588] to put it [G5087] for the [G3588] king upon [G1909] the [G3588] his heart [G2588][G1473]!
20: For [G3754] knows [G1097] the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473] that [G3754] I have sinned . And [G2532] look [G2400], I [G1473] have come [G3854] today [G4594] first [G4413] of all [G3956] of the [G3588] house [G3624] of Joseph the [G3588] to go down [G2597] myself [G1473] for [G1519] the [G3588] meeting of the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king .
21: And [G2532] answered Abishai son [G5207] of Zeruiah] and [G2532] said [G2036], For this [G3778] should not be put to death [G3756][G2289] Shimei], for [G3754] he cursed [G2672] the [G3588] [one] Anointed '[G5547] of Boss '[G2962]?
22: And [G2532] David said [G2036], What [is it [G5100] to me [G1473] and [G2532] to you [G1473], sons [G5207] of Zeruiah, that [G3754] you become [G1096] to me [G1473] today [G4594] to [G1519] plot ? will [G1487] today [G4594] be put to death [G2289] any [G5100] man of [G1722] Israel], [no]. I do not know [G3756][G1492] that [G3754] today [G4594] I will reign [G1473] over [G1909] the [G3588] Israel.
23: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king to [G4314] Shimei, You will not die [G3756][G2289]. And [G2532] swore by an oath [G3660] to him [G1473] the [G3588] king .
24: And [G2532] Mephibosheth son [G5207] of Jonathan, son [G5207] of Saul went down [G2597] for [G1519] a meeting with the [G3588] king , and [G2532] attended not to [G3756][G2323] the [G3588] feet [G4228] of him [G1473], nor [G3761] prepared [G4160] the [G3588] his mustache [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his garments [G2440][G1473] he did not [G3756] wash [G4150] from the [G3588] day [G2250] which [G3739] went forth the [G3588] king until [G2193] the [G3588] day [G2250] which [G3739] he came [G3854] in [G1722] peace [G1515].
25: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] when [G3753] he entered [G1525] into [G1519] Jerusalem for [G1519] a meeting with the [G3588] king , that [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] the [G3588] king , Why [G5100] [is it] that [G3754] you did not go [G3756][G4198] with [G3326] me [G1473], Mephibosheth?
26: And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473] Mephibosheth], O my boss [G2962][G1473], O king , the [G3588] my servant [G1401][G1473] misled [G3884] me [G1473], for [G3754] said [G2036] the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473] to him [G1473], Saddle for me [G1473] the [G3588] donkey [G3688], for [G2532] I should mount [G1910] upon [G1909] it [G1473] and [G2532] go [G4198] with [G3326] the [G3588] king , for [G3754] [is] lame [G5560] the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473].
27: And [G2532] he used craft with [G1722] the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473] against [G4314] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king . But [G2532] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king [is] as [G5613] a word-conveyer (messenger) ' of God '[G2316], and [G2532] you do [G4160] [what is the [G3588] good in [G1722] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473]!
28: For [G3754] there was not [G3756] any [G3956] to the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473], but only men for death [G2288] [to the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king . And [G2532] you put [G5087] the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473][G1722] the [G3588] to eat [G2068] at [G1722] the [G3588] your table [G5132][G1473]. And [G2532] what [G5100] is there to me [G1473] still [G2089] reason [G1345], even [G2532] the [G3588] to cry out [G2896] still [G2089] to [G4314] the [G3588] king ?
29: And [G2532] said [G2036] to him [G1473] the [G3588] king , Why [G2444] do you still speak [G2980][G2089] the [G3588] your words [G3056][G1473]? I said [G2036], You [G1473] and [G2532] Ziba divide [G1244] the [G3588] field !
30: And [G2532] Mephibosheth said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] king , And [G2532] all the [things] [G3588][G3956] let him take [G2983] after [G3326] the [G3588] coming [G3854] of the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king in [G1722] peace [G1515] to [G1519] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473].
31: And [G2532] Barzillai the [G3588] Gileadite came down [G2597] from [G1537] Rogelim, and [G2532] passed over [G1224] with [G3326] the [G3588] king the [G3588] Jordan], the [G3588] to send him forward [G4311][G1473] from [G1537] the [G3588] Jordan.
32: And [G2532] Barzillai [was] old man [G4246] an exceedingly [G4970], a son [G5207] of eighty [G3589] years [G2094], and [G2532] he [G1473] nourished the [G3588] king during [G1722] the [G3588] his living [G3611][G1473] in [G1722] Mahanaim, for [G3754] man great [G3173] he was a very [G4970].
33: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king to [G4314] the [G3588] Barzillai, You [G1473] will pass over [G1224] with [G3326] me [G1473], and [G2532] I will nourish the [G3588] your old age [G1094][G1473] with [G3326] me [G1473] in [G1722] Jerusalem.
34: And [G2532] Barzillai said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] king , How [many [G4214] [are] the [G3588] days [G2250] of years [G2094] of my life [G2222][G1473] that [G2443] I should go up with [G3326] the [G3588] king unto [G1519] Jerusalem?
35: a son [G5207] of eighty [G3589] years [G2094] I [G1473] am today [G4594]. Can [G3361] I know [G1097] between good and [G2532] between bad [G2556]? will [G1487] still taste [G1089][G2089] the [G3588] servant [G1401] your [G1473] what [G3739] I will eat [G2068] or [G2228] will drink, [no [G4095]. will [G1487] I hear still [G2089] voice [G5456] of singing [men and [G2532] singing [women], [no . Then [G2532] why [G2444] be [G1096] the [G3588] [should] your servant [G1401][G1473] a load [G5413] upon [G1909] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king ?
36: For [G3754] a little [G3641] will pass over [G1224] the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473] the [G3588] Jordan] with [G3326] the [G3588] king . And [G2532] why [G2444] the [G3588] [does] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king recompense to me [G1473] this [G3778] recompense ?
37: Return indeed [G1211] the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473]! and [G2532] I will die in [G1722] the [G3588] my city [G4172][G1473], by [G3844] the [G3588] burying-place [G5028] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473] and [G2532] of the [G3588] my mother [G3384][G1473]. And [G2532] look [G2400], the [G3588] your servant [G1401][G1473] Chimham the [G3588] my son [G5207] will pass over [G1224] with [G3326] the [G3588] my boss [G2962][G1473] the [G3588] king ; and [G2532] you will do [G4160] for him [G1473] the [G3588] pleasing [thing] before [G1799] you [G1473].
38: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king , with [G3326] me [G1473] Let pass over [G1224] Chimham], and I [G2504] will do [G4160] to him [G1473] the [G3588] pleasing [thing] before [G1799] you [G1473], and [G2532] what [G3778] ever you should give order [G2004] to me [G1473] I will do [G4160] for you [G1473].
39: And [G2532] passed over [G1224] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] the [G3588] Jordan, and [G2532] the [G3588] king was established [G2476], and [G2532] kissed [G2705] the [G3588] king the [G3588] Barzillai, and [G2532] blessed [G2127] him [G1473]; and [G2532] he returned [G1994] to [G1519] the [G3588] his people [G5117][G1473].
40: And [G2532] passed over [G1224] the [G3588] king into [G1519] Gilgal, and [G2532] Chimham passed over [G1224] with [G3326] him [G1473]. And [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] of Judah caused him to pass over [G1224][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] half [G2255] of the [G3588] people [G2992] of Israel.
41: And [G2532] look [G2400], every [G3956] man of Israel came [G3854] to [G4314] the [G3588] king . And [G2532] they said [G2036] to the [G3588] king , Why [is it [G5100] that [G3754] stole [G2813] you [G1473] the [G3588] our brothers [G1473] the [G3588] men of Judah], and [G2532] caused to pass over the [G3588] king and [G2532] the [G3588] his household [G3624][G1473] the [G3588] Jordan, and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] men of David with [G3326] him [G1473]?
42: And [G2532] answered men of Judah] to the [G3588] men of Israel, and [G2532] said [G2036], Because [G1360] is a near [relative [G1448] to us [G1473] the [G3588] king . And [G2532] why [G2444] [is] this [G3778] you are enraged [G2373] on account of [G4012] the [G3588] this word '[G3056][G3778]? Or [G2228] in eating [G2068] have we eaten any [G5100] food [G1035] from [G3844] the [G3588] king , or [G2228] a gift [G1390] given [G1325] to us [G1473]?
43: And [G2532] answered the [G3588] men of Israel] to [G4314] the [G3588] men of Judah, and [G2532] said [G2036], [There are] ten [G1176] hands to me [G1473][G5495] for [G1722] the [G3588] king , also [G2532] indeed [G1065] in [G1722] the [G3588] David I am over [G5228] you [G1473]. And [G2532] why [G5100] [is it] that [G3754] you insult [G5195] me [G1473], and [G2532] it was not [G3756][G1096] the [G3588] my word [G4487][G1473] first [G4387] the [G3588] to return [G1994] the [G3588] king to me [G1473]? And [G2532] was hardened [G4645] the [G3588] saying [G4487] of men of Judah] above [G5228] the [G3588] saying [G4487] of men of Israel.
