Nehemiah Chapter 5 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] was [G1096] the [G3588] cry [G2906] of the [G3588] people [G2992] and [G2532] their wives [G1135][G1473] great [G3173] against [G4314] the [G3588]ir brothers [G1473] of the [G3588] Jews.
2: And [G2532] there were some [G5100] saying [G3004], With [G1722] our sons [G5207][G1473] and [G2532] with [G1722] our daughters [G2364][G1473] we [are [G1473] many [G4183]; and [G2532] we will take [G2983] grain [G4621], and [G2532] will eat [G2068] and [G2532] will live [G2198].
3: And [G2532] there are some [G5100] saying [G3004], Our fields [G1473], and [G2532] our vineyards [G1473], and [G2532] our houses [G3614][G1473] we [G1473] mortgaged , and [G2532] we will take [G2983] grain [G4621] and [G2532] we will eat [G2068].
4: And [G2532] there are some [G5100] saying [G3004], We borrowed [G1155] money for [G1519] tribute [G5411] of the [G3588] king of our fields [G1473], and [G2532] our vineyards [G1473], and [G2532] our houses [G3614][G1473].
5: And [G2532] now [G3568] [is] as [G5613] flesh [G4561] of our brothers [G1473] our flesh [G4561][G1473]; as [G5613] their sons [G5207][G1473] our sons [G5207][G1473]; and [G2532] look [G2400], we [are [G1473] tyrannizing over [G2616] the [G3588] our sons [G5207][G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] our daughters [G2364][G1473] [selling them] for [G1519] servants [G1401], and [G2532] there are [some] off our daughters [G2364][G1473] being tyrannized already [G2616]; and [G2532] there is no [G3756] power [to redeem them [G1411] by our hands [G5495][G1473], for [G2532] our fields [G1473] and [G2532] our vineyards [G1473] [belong] to the [G3588] important ones [G1784].
6: And [G2532] I fretted [G3076] very much [G4970] as [G2531] I heard the [G3588]ir cry [G2906][G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] words [G3056] these [G3778].
7: And [G2532] took counsel [G1011] my heart [G2588][G1473] with [G1909] me [G1473], and [G2532] I did combat [G3164] against [G4314] the [G3588] important ones [G1784], and [G2532] the [G3588] rulers . And [G2532] I said [G2036] to them [G1473], will exact a man the [G3588] from his brother [G1473] what [G3739] you [G1473] do [G4160]? And [G2532] I put [G1325] upon [G1909] them [G1473] assembly [G1577] a great [G3173].
8: And [G2532] I said [G2036] to them [G1473], We [G1473] have acquired [G2932] the [G3588] our brothers [G1473] of the [G3588] Jews, of the [G3588] [ones] having been sold [G4453] to the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484], by [G1722] our voluntary [offerings [G1595][G1473]; and [G2532] do you [G1473] sell [G4453] the [G3588] your brothers [G1473]? Or [G2532] will they be sold [G4097] to us [G1473]? And [G2532] they were quiet [G2270], and [G2532] they did not [G3756] find [G2147] a word [G3056].
9: And [G2532] I said [G2036], [is] not good [G3756] the [G3588] word '[G3056] which [G3739] you [G1473] do [G4160]. not [G3756] thus [G3779] in [G1722] fear [G5401] of our God '[G2316][G1473] Should you go forth because off scorn [G3680] of the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] of the [G3588] our enemies [G2190][G1473]?
10: And also [G2532][G1065] I [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] my brothers [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] my acquaintances [G1110][G1473], put up [G5087] for them [G1473] money and [G2532] grain [G4621]; we abandoned [G1459] indeed [G1211] the [G3588] this exaction [G3778].
11: Return [G1994] indeed [G1211] to them [G1473], even [G5613] today [G4594], their fields [G1473], and [G2532] their vineyards [G1473], and [G2532] their olive groves [G1638][G1473], and [G2532] their houses [G3614][G1473], and [G2532] off the [G3588] money for the [G3588] grain [G4621], and [G2532] the [G3588] wine [G3631] and [G2532] the [G3588] olive oil [G1637] bring forth [G1627] to them [G1438]!
12: And [G2532] they said [G2036], We will give it back , and [G2532] from [G3844] them [G1473] we will not [G3756] seek [G2212], we will do thus [G3779][G4160] as [G2531] you [G1473] say [G3004]. And [G2532] I called [G2564] the [G3588] priests [G2409], and [G2532] bound them by an oath [G3726][G1473] to do [G4160] as [G5613] the [G3588] this saying [G4487][G3778].
13: And [G2532] the [G3588] my wrap [G1473] I shook off [G1621], and [G2532] said [G2036], Thus [G3779] will shake off [G1621] the [G3588] God '[G2316] every [G3956] man who [G3739] does not [G3756] stand by [G2476] the [G3588] this word [G3056][G3778], of [G1537] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473], and [G2532] of [G1537] his toil [G2873][G1473]; and [G2532] he will be thus [G3779] shaken [G1621] and [G2532] empty [G2756]. And [G2532] said [G2036] all [G3956] the [G3588] assembly [G1577], Amen . And [G2532] they praised the [G3588] Boss '[G2962]. And [G2532] did [G4160] the [G3588] people [G2992] the [G3588] this thing [G4487][G3778].
14: And also [G2532][G1065] from the [G3588] day [G2250] which [G3739] he gave charge [G1781] to me [G1473] to be as [G1519] their ruler [G1473] in [G1722] land '[G1093] of Judah, from year [G2094] twentieth , and [G2532] until [G2193] year [G2094] thirtieth and [G2532] second [G1208] the [G3588] of Artaxerxes the [G3588] king , years [G2094] twelve [G1427], [that] even [G2532] I [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] my brothers [G1473] bread of the [G3588] my governing [G2231][G1473] did not [G3756] eat [G2068].
15: But the [G3588][G1161] rulers , the [G3588] [ones] before [G1715] me [G1473], oppressed upon [G1909] the [G3588] people [G2992], and [G2532] took [G2983] from [G3844] them [G1473] in [G1722] bread [loaves and [G2532] in [G1722] wine [G3631]; [and] last [G2078] money shekels of forty [G5062]. And also [G2532][G1065] the [G3588]ir servants [G3808][G1473] dominated [G2961] over [G1909] the [G3588] people [G2992]. But I [G2504] did not [G3756] do [G4160] so [G3779] because off countenance [G4383] of fear [G5401] of Boss '[G2962].
16: And [G2532] in [G1722] work [G2041] of the [G3588] wall [G5038] these [things] [G3778] I repaired [G2902]. fields [of land I did not [G3756] acquire [G2932], and [G2532] the [G3588] my servants [G3808][G1473] and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] gathering [G4863] [were] there [G1563] for [G1223] the [G3588] work [G2041].
17: And [G2532] the [G3588] Jews, and [G2532] the [G3588] rulers [were] a hundred [G1540] fifty [G4004] men , and [G2532] [the ones] coming [G2064] to [G4314] us [G1473] from the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] the [G3588] round about [G2945] us [G1473] [were] at [G1909] my table [G5132][G1473].
18: And [G2532] there was coming [G1096] in [G1519] day [G2250] one [G1520] -- calf [G3448] one [G1520], and [G2532] sheep [G4263] six [G1803] choice [G1588], and [G2532] a winter yearling ; [there] came [G1096] to me [G1473] also [G2532] in the midst of ten [G1176] days [G2250][G1722] all [G3956] wine [G3631] the [G3588] in multitude [G4128]. And [G2532] with [G4862] these [G3778] bread of the [G3588] my governing [G2231][G1473] I did not [G3756] seek [G2212], for [G3754] [was] heavy the [G3588] slavery [G1397] upon [G1909] the [G3588] this people [G2992][G3778].
19: Remember [G3403] me [G1473], O the [G3588] God '[G2316]! for [G1519] all good [G3956] as much as [G3745] I did [G4160] the [G3588] to this people [G2992][G3778].
