1: And looking [at] [G1492][G1161] the [G3588] crowds [G3793], he went up into [G1519] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735]. And [G2532] having sat himself down [G2523][G1473], there came forward [G4334] to him [G1473] the [G3588] trainees '[G3101] of him [G1473].
2: And [G2532] having opened the [G3588] mouth [G4750] of him [G1473], he taught [G1321] them [G1473], saying [G3004],
3: Blessed [G3107] [are] the [G3588] [ones] begging [G4434] for the [G3588] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151], for [G3754] of them [G1473] is the [G3588] government ' of the [G3588] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772].
4: Blessed [G3107] [are] the [G3588] [ones] mourning [G3996], for [G3754] they [G1473] will be comforted [G3870].
5: Blessed [G3107] [are] the [G3588] [ones] cooperative [G4239], for [G3754] they [G1473] will inherit [G2816] the [G3588] land '[G1093].
6: Blessed [G3107] [are] the [G3588] [ones] hungering [G3983] and [G2532] thirsting [G1372] for the [G3588] righteousness [G1343], for [G3754] they [G1473] will be filled [G5526].
7: Blessed [G3107] [are] the [G3588] compassionate [G1655], for [G3754] they [G1473] will be shown compassion [G1653].
8: Blessed [G3107] [are] the [G3588] clean [G2513] the [G3588] in heart [G2588], for [G3754] they [G1473] the [G3588] will see God '[G2316][G3708].
9: Blessed [G3107] [are] the [G3588] peacemakers [G1518], for [G3754] they [G1473] "sons [G5207] of God '[G2316]" will be called [G2564].
10: Blessed [G3107] [are] the [G3588] [ones] having been pursued [G1377] because of [G1752] righteousness [G1343], for [G3754] of them [G1473] is the [G3588] government ' of the [G3588] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772].
11: Blessed [G3107] are you whenever [G3752] they should berate [G3679] you [G1473], and [G2532] pursue [G1377], and [G2532] will say [G2036] every [G3956] wicked [G4190] saying [G4487] against [G2596] you [G1473] in lying [G5574], because of [G1752] me [G1473].
12: Rejoice [G5463] and [G2532] jump much , for [G3754] the [G3588] your wage [G3408][G1473] [is] great [G4183] in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772]! for so [G3779][G1063] they pursued [G1377] the [G3588] prophets [G4396] the [G3588] before [G4253] you [G1473].
13: You [G1473] are the [G3588] salt of the [G3588] land '[G1093]. But if [G1437][G1161] the [G3588] salt becomes insipid [G3471], by [G1722] what means [G5100] will it be salted ? For [G1519] nothing [G3762] it is strong for [G2480] any longer [G2089], unless [G1508] to be thrown outside [G1854], and [G2532] to be trampled upon [G2662] by [G5259] the [G3588] men .
14: You are [G1473] the [G3588] light [G5457] of the [G3588] arrangement '[G2889]. is not [G3756] able [G1410] A city [G4172] to hide [G2928] upon [G1883] a raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] being situated [G2749];
15: nor [G3761] do they burn [G2545] a lamp [G3088], and [G2532] put [G5087] it [G1473] under [G5259] the [G3588] bushel [G3426], but upon [G1909] the [G3588] lamp-stand [G3087]; and [G2532] it radiates [G2989] to all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3614].
16: So [G3779] let radiate [G2989] the [G3588] light [G5457][G1473] of your's [G1473] before [G1715] the [G3588] men , so that [G3704] they should look [at] [G1492] your [G1473] the [G3588] good [G2570] works [G2041], and [G2532] they should glorify [G1392] the [G3588] father [G3962] of us [G1473], the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772].
17: You should not [G3361] think [G3543] that [G3754] I came [G2064] to depose [G2647] the [G3588] law [G3551] or [G2228] the [G3588] prophets [G4396]. I came not [G3756][G2064] to depose [G2647], but to fulfill [G4137].
18: For amen [G1063] I say [G3004] to you [G1473], until [G2193] whenever will pass away [G3928] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] and [G2532] the [G3588] land '[G1093], iota [G2503] one [G1520] or [G2228] one [G1520] dot [G2762] in no way should pass [G3928] from the [G3588] law [G3551], until [G2193] whenever all [G3956] comes to pass [G1096].
19: Who [G3739] ever [G1437] then [G3767] should untie [G3089] one [G1520] of the [G3588] commandments [G1785] of these [G3778] the [G3588] least [G1646], and [G2532] will teach [G1321] so [G3779] the [G3588] men , least [G1646] will be called [G2564] in [G1722] the [G3588] government ' of the [G3588] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772]. And who [G3739][G1161] ever should do [G4160] and [G2532] should teach [G1321], this one [G3778] great [G3173] will be called [G2564] in [G1722] the [G3588] government ' of the [G3588] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772].
20: For I say [G3004][G1063] to you [G1473], that [G3754] if [G1437] should not [G3361] abound [G4052] the [G3588] your righteousness [G1343][G1473] greater than [G4183] of the [G3588] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]) and [G2532] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]), in no way should you enter [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] government ' of the [G3588] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772].
21: You heard that [G3754] it was said [G4483] to the [G3588] ancients , You will not [G3756] murder [G5407]; and who [G3739][G1161] ever should murder [G5407], will be liable [G1777] to the [G3588] judgment [G2920].
22: But I [G1473][G1161] say [G3004] to you [G1473], that [G3754] all [G3956] the [G3588] provoking to anger [G3710] the [G3588] brother of him [G1473], in vain [G1500], will be liable [G1777] to the [G3588] judgment [G2920]. And who [G3739][G1161] ever should say [G2036] [to the [G3588] brother of him [G1473], Worthless [G4469]! will be liable [G1777] to the [G3588] sanhedrin [G4892]. And who [G3739][G1161] ever should say [G2036] O moron [G3474]! will be liable [G1777] for [G1519] the [G3588] Gehenna [G1067] of the [G3588] fire [G4442].
23: If [G1437] then [G3767] you should offer [G4374] the [G3588] your gift [offering [G1435][G1473] upon [G1909] the [G3588] altar [G2379], and [G2546] there [G1563] should remember [G3403] that [G3754] the [G3588] your brother [G1473] has [G2192] something [G5100] against [G2596] you [G1473],
24: leave there [G1563] the [G3588] your gift [offering [G1435][G1473] before [G1715] the [G3588] altar [G2379], and [G2532] go away [G5217]! first [G4412] to reconcile [G1259] with the [G3588] your brother [G1473], and [G2532] then [G5119] having come [G2064] offer [G4374] the [G3588] your gift [offering [G1435][G1473].
25: Be well-disposed towards [G2132] the [G3588] your opponent [G1473] quickly [G5036]! at [G2193] wherever [G3748] you are in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598] with [G3326] him [G1473], lest at any time [G3379] should deliver you up [G1473][G3860] the [G3588] opponent to the [G3588] judge [G2923], and [G2532] the [G3588] judge [G2923] should deliver you up [G1473][G3860] to of the [G3588]ficer [G5257], and [G2532] into [G1519] prison [G5438] he should throw [you .
26: Amen I say [G3004] to you [G1473], In no way should you come forth [G1831] from there [G1564], until [G2193] whenever you should deliver over the [G3588] last [G2078] quadrans [G2835].
27: You heard [G3754] that [G3754] it was said [G4483] to the [G3588] ancients , You will not commit adultery [G3756][G3431].
28: But I [G1473][G1161] say [G3004] to you [G1473] that [G3754], all [G3956] the [G3588] looking at a wife [G1135] for [G4314] the [G3588] lusting [G1937] her [G1473], already [G2235] committed adultery with [G3431] her [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] his heart [G2588][G1473].
29: And if [G1487][G1161] the [G3588] eye [G3788] your [G1473] the [G3588] right [G1188] causes you to stumble [G4624][G1473], take it out [G1807][G1473], and [G2532] throw [it from you [G1473]! for it is advantageous [G4851][G1063] to you [G1473] that [G2443] should be destroyed one [G1722] of the [G3588] your members [G3196][G1473], and [G2532] should not [G3361] entire [G3650] the [G3588] body [G4983] your [G1473] be thrown into [G1519] Gehenna [G1067].
30: And [G2532] if [G1487] the [G3588] your right [G1188][G1473] hand [G5495] causes you to stumble [G4624][G1473], cut it off [G1581][G1473], and [G2532] throw [it from you [G1473]! for it is advantageous [G4851][G1063] to you [G1473] that [G2443] should be destroyed one [G1520] of the [G3588] your members [G3196][G1473], and [G2532] should not [G3361] entire [G3650] the [G3588] body [G4983] your [G1473] be thrown into [G1519] Gehenna [G1067].
31: Also it was said [G4483][G1161] that [G3754], Who [G3739] ever should dismiss the [G3588] his wife [G1135][G1473], let him give [G1325] to her [G1473] a certificate of divorce .
32: But I [G1473][G1161] say [G3004] to you [G1473] that [G3754], Who [G3739] ever should dismiss the [G3588] his wife [G1135][G1473], except for [G3924] word '[G3056] of harlotry [G4202], makes [G4160] her [G1473] to commit adultery [G3429]. And [G2532] who [G3739] ever [G1437] a woman being divorced should marry [G1060] commits adultery [G3429].
33: Again [G3825], you heard that [G3754] it was said [G4483] to the [G3588] ancients , You will not [G3756] swear upon [G1964], but will render [G1161] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] your oaths [G3727][G1473].
34: But I [G1473][G1161] say [G3004] to you [G1473], Do not [G3361] swear by an oath [G3660] wholly [G3654]; nor [G3383] on [G1722] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], for [G3754] it is throne [G2362] of the [G3588] God '[G2316];
35: nor [G3383] on [G1722] the [G3588] land '[G1093], for [G3754] it is footstool [G5286] of the [G3588] his feet [G4228][G1473]; nor [G3383] on [G1519] Jerusalem, for [G3754] it is city [G4172] of the [G3588] great [G3173] king ;
36: nor [G3383] on [G1722] the [G3588] your head [G2776][G1473] should you swear by an oath [G3660], for [G3754] you are not [G3756] able [G1410] one [G1520] hair [G2359] white [G3022] or [G2228] black [G3189] to make [G4160].
37: But let be [G1161] the [G3588] your word [G3056][G1473] -- a yes [G3483], Yes [G3483]! a no [G3756], No [G3756]! but the [G3588][G1161] anything extra [G4053] than these [G3778] of [G1537] the [G3588] wicked one [G4190] is .
38: You heard that [G3754] it was said [G4483], An eye [G3788] for an eye [G3788], and [G2532] a tooth [G3599] for a tooth [G3599].
39: But I [G1473][G1161] say [G3004] to you [G1473], to not [G3361] oppose the [G3588] wicked one [G4190]. But whoever [G3748] slaps you [G1473][G4474] upon [G1909] the [G3588] your right [G1188][G1473] jaw [G4600], turn [G4762] to him [G1473] also [G2532] the [G3588] other !
40: And [G2532] to the [G3588] [one] wanting [G2309] to arbitrate against you [G1473][G2919], and [G2532] the [G3588] your garment [G5509][G1473] to take [G2983], leave to him [G1473] also [G2532] [your the [G3588] cloak [G2440]!
41: And [G2532] whoever [G3748] conscripts you [to go [G1473] mile [G3400] one [G1520], go [G5217] with [G3326] him [G1473] two [G1417]!
42: To the [G3588] [one] asking you [G1473], give [G1325]! And [G2532] the [G3588] [one] wanting [G2309] from you [G1473] to borrow [G1155], you should not [G3361] turn away .
43: You heard that [G3754] it was said [G4483], You will love the [G3588] your neighbor [G4139][G1473], and [G2532] you will detest [G3404] the [G3588] your enemy [G2190][G1473].
44: But I [G1473][G1161] say [G3004] to you [G1473], Love the [G3588] enemies [G2190] of you [G1473]! Bless [G2127] the [G3588] [ones] cursing [G2672] you [G1473]! well [G2573] Do [G4160] to the [G3588] [ones] detesting [G3404] you [G1473]! and [G2532] pray [G4336] for [G5228] the [G3588] [ones] threatening [G1908] you [G1473] and [G2532] pursuing [G1377] you [G1473]!
45: so that [G3704] you should become [G1096] sons [G5207] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of you [G1473], of the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772]. For [G3754] the [G3588] his sun [G2246][G1473] rises upon [G1909] wicked ones [G4190] and [G2532] good ones , and [G2532] it rains [G1026] upon [G1909] just [G1342] and [G2532] unjust .
46: For if [G1437][G1063] you should love the [G3588] [ones] loving you [G1473], what [G5100] wage [G3408] have you [G2192]? Do not [G3780] also [G2532] the [G3588] tax collectors [G5057] do the same the [G3588][G1473][G4160]?
47: And [G2532] if [G1437] you should greet the [G3588] your brothers [G1473] only [G3440], what [G5100] extra [G4053] do you do [G4160]? [Do] not [G3780] also [G2532] the [G3588] tax collectors [G5057] the [G3588] same [G1473] do [G4160]?
48: You will be then [G3767] yourselves [G1473] perfect [G5046], as [G5618] the [G3588] father [G3962] of us [G1473], the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772] is perfect [G5046].
