Joshua Chapter 7 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] trespassed the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] a trespass , and [G2532] pilfered [G3557] from of the [G3588]fering for consumption . And [G2532] Achan took [G2983] (son [G5207] of Carmi, son [G5207] of Zabdi, son [G5207] of Zerah, from [G1537] the [G3588] tribe [G5443] of Judah) from of the [G3588]fering for consumption . And [G2532] was enraged [G2373] anger [G3709] of Boss '[G2962] with the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel.
2: And [G2532] Joshua sent men from Jericho unto [G1519] Ai, which [G3739] is by [G2596] Beth-aven, according to [G2596] east of Beth-el. And [G2532] he spoke [G2036] to [G4314] to them [G1473], saying [G3004], In going up , survey the [G3588] land '[G1093]! And [G2532] went up the [G3588] men and [G2532] surveyed the [G3588] Ai.
3: And [G2532] they returned to [G4314] Joshua, and [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473], Do not let [G3361] go up all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992], but about [G5616] two thousand [G1367] or [G2228] three thousand [G5153] men , let them go up ! And [G2532] let [them] capture the [G3588] city [G4172]! You should not [G3361] lead there [G1563] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992], few [G3641] for [G1063] they are .
4: And [G2532] went up from the [G3588] people [G2992] there [G1563] about [G5616] three thousand [G5153] men . And [G2532] they fled [G5343] from face [G4383] of men of Ai.
5: And [G2532] killed off them [G1473] men of Ai] about [G5613] thirty-six men , and [G2532] they pursued [G2614] them [G1473] from the [G3588] gate [G4439] until [G2193] they defeated [G4937] them [G1473]. And [G2532] they struck [G4141] them [G1473] by [G1909] the [G3588] incline . And [G2532] [was] terrified [G4422] the [G3588] heart [G2588] of the [G3588] people [G2992], and [G2532] it became [G1096] as [G5618] water [G5204].
6: And [G2532] Joshua tore [G1284] the [G3588] his garments [G2440][G1473], and [G2532] fell [G4098] upon [G1909] his face [G4383][G1473] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093] before [G1725] ark [G2787] of Boss '[G2962] until [G2193] evening [G2073], he [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] elders [G4245] of Israel. And [G2532] they put [G1911] dirt [G5522] upon [G1909] the [G3588]ir heads [G2776][G1473].
7: And [G2532] Joshua said [G2036], I beseech [G1189], O Boss '[G2962], O Boss '[G2962], why [G2444] in causing to pass over was caused to pass over the [G3588] servant [G3816] of you [G1473] the [G3588] this people [G2992][G3778] the [G3588] Jordan, to deliver [G3860] it [G1473] to the [G3588] Amorite to destroy us [G1473]? And [G2532] if [G1487] we stayed [G2650] and [G2532] were settled by [G3844] the [G3588] Jordan, what is it to me [G1722][G1473], O Boss '[G2962].
8: And [G2532] what [G5100] will I say [G2046] when [G1893] Israel turned [G3328] the back of the neck before the [G3588] its enemy [G2190][G1473]?
9: And [G2532] hearing , the [G3588] Canaanite and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in the [G3588] land '[G1093] will surround [G4033] us [G1473], and [G2532] will obliterate us [G1473] from the [G3588] land '[G1093]. And [G2532] what [G5100] will you do [G4160] the [G3588] name [G3686] for your [G1473] the [G3588] great [G3173]?
10: And [G2532] BOSS said [G2036][G2962] to [G4314] Joshua, Rise up ! Why [G2444] [do] you [G1473] [do] this [G3778] -- fall [G4098] upon [G1909] face [G4383] of you [G1473]?
11: have sinned the [G3588] people [G2992], and [G2532] violated [G3845] the [G3588] my covenant [G1242][G1473] which [G3739] I ordained [G1303] with [G4314] it [G1473]. For even [G2532][G1065] they took [G2983] from of the [G3588]fering for consumption , and [G2532] stealing [G2813] they lie [G5574], and [G2532] they cast for [G1519] the [G3588] items [G4632] themselves [G1473].
12: And [G2532] in no way will be able [G1410] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] to stand in [G2596] front of [G4383] the [G3588] its enemies [G2190][G1473]. the back of the neck They will turn [G1994] before [G1799] the [G3588]ir enemies [G2190][G1473], for [G3754] they were become [G1096] an offering for consumption . I will not [G3756] add [G4369] any longer [G2089] to be with [G3326] you [G1473], if [G1437] you should not [G3361] lift away [G1808] of the [G3588]fering for consumption from among [G1537] you [G1473] of them [G1473].
13: In rising up , purify the [G3588] people [G2992], and [G2532] tell [them [G2036] to be sanctified for [G1519] tomorrow ! For [G3754] thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel, Of the [G3588]fering devoted for consumption is among [G1722] you [G1473], O Israel; you will not [G3756] be able [G1410] to withstand before the [G3588] enemies [G2190] of you [G1473], until [G2193] whenever you should lift away [G1808] of the [G3588]fering for consumption from [G1537] you [G1473].
14: And [G2532] you will gather [G4863] all [G3956] in the morning [G4404] according to [G2596] your tribes [G5443][G1473]. And [G2532] it will be to the [G3588] tribe [G5443] which [G3739] ever BOSS shows [G1166][G2962], and [G2532] you will lead forward [G4317] according to [G2596] peoples [G1218]. And [G2532] the [G3588] people [G1218] which [G3739] ever BOSS shows [G1166][G2962] you will lead forward [G4317] according to [G2596] house [G3624]. And [G2532] the [G3588] house [G3624] which [G3739] ever BOSS shows [G1166][G2962], by [G2596] man you will lead forward [G4317].
15: And [G2532] who [G3739] ever should be pointed out [G1731] in [G1722] of the [G3588]fering for consumption , he will be burnt [G2545] by [G1722] the [G3588] fire [G4442] himself [G1473], and [G2532] all [G3956] as much as [G3745] is of him '[G1473]; for [G3754] he violated [G3845] the [G3588] covenant [G1242] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] that [G3754] he committed [G4160] a violation of the law in [G1722] Israel.
16: And [G2532] Joshua rose early [G3719] in the morning [G4404], and [G2532] he led forward [G4317] the [G3588] people [G2992] by [G2596] its tribe [G5443][G1473]. And [G2532] was made manifest the [G3588] tribe [G5443] of Judah].
17: And [G2532] were made manifest people [G1218] the [G3588] Zarhite]. And [G2532] he led forward [G4317] people [G1218] the [G3588] Zarhite] according to [G2596] man , and [G2532] Zabdi was made manifest .
18: And [G2532] he led forward [G4317] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473] by [G2596] man , and [G2532] was made manifest Achan son [G5207] of Carmi, son [G5207] of Zabdi, son [G5207] of Zerah of the [G3588] tribe [G5443] of Judah.
19: And [G2532] Joshua said [G2036] the [G3588] to Achan, O my son [G5207][G1473], today [G4594] give [G1325] indeed [G1211] glory [G1391] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] God '[G2316] of Israel, and [G2532] make [G1325] to him [G1473] the [G3588] acknowledgment , and [G2532] announce to me [G1473] what [G5100] you did [G4160]! and [G2532] you should not hide [it [G3361][G2928] from me [G1473].
20: And [G2532] Achan answered [to the [G3588] Joshua, and [G2532] said [G2036], Truly I [G1473] sinned before [G1726] Boss '[G2962] God '[G2316] of Israel, so [G3779] and [G2532] so [G3779] I have done [G4160].
21: I looked [at] [G1492] in [G1722] the [G3588] spoils [standing] bare colored [robe [G4164] one [G1520] goodly [G2570], and [G2532] two hundred [G1250] double-drachmas [G1323] of silver , and [G2532] wedge [G1100] of gold [G5552] one [G1520] -- fifty [G4004] double-drachmas [G1323] its scale weight [G1473]. And [G2532] I coveted [G1937] them [G1473], and [G2532] I took [G2983]. And [G2532] look [G2400], these [G3778] are hid [G2928] in [G1722] the [G3588] land '[G1093] in [G1722] the [G3588] my tent [G4633][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] silver is hid [G2928] underneath [G5270] them [G1473].
22: And [G2532] Joshua sent word-conveyers (messengers) ', and [G2532] they ran [G5143] to [G1519] the [G3588] tent [G4633] in [G1519] the [G3588] camp [G3925]; and [G2532] these [G3778] were being hid [G2928] in [G1519] the [G3588] his tent [G4633][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] silver underneath [G5270] them [G1473].
23: And [G2532] they brought [G1627] them [G1473] from [G1537] the [G3588] tent [G4633], and [G2532] brought [G5342] them [G1473] to [G4314] Joshua, and [G2532] to [G4314] all [G3956] elders [G4245] of Israel. And [G2532] they put [G5087] them [G1473] before [G1725] Boss '[G2962].
24: And [G2532] Joshua took [G2983] the [G3588] Achan son [G5207] of Zerah, and [G2532] the [G3588] silver , and [G2532] the [G3588] robe [G4749], and [G2532] the [G3588] wedge [G1100] the [G3588] gold [G5552], and [G2532] the [G3588] his sons [G5207][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his daughters [G2364][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his calves [G3448][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his beasts of burden [G5268][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his sheep [G4263][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his tent [G4633][G1473], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] possessions [G5224] of him [G1473], and [G2532] all [G3956] Israel with [G3326] him [G1473]. And [G2532] they led them [G1473] into [G1519] Emek Achor.
25: And [G2532] Joshua said [G2036], Why [G5100] did you annihilate [G3645] us [G1473] to utterly destroy [G1842] you [G1473] [for the] Boss '[G2962] even [G2505][G2532] today [G4594]? And [G2532] stoned [G3036] him [G1473] all [G3956] Israel] [with] stones [G3037], and [G2532] they burned [G2618] them [G1473] in [G1722] fire [G4442], and [G2532] they stoned [G3036] them [G1473] with [G1722] stones [G3037].
26: And [G2532] they set over [G2186] him [G1473] a heap stones [G3037] of great [G3173] until [G2193] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778]. And [G2532] BOSS ceased [G3973][G2962] the [G3588] rage [G2372] of the [G3588] anger [G3709]. Therefore [G1223] this [G3778] is name [G2028] of it [G1473] -- Emek Achor, unto [G2193] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778].
