Deuteronomy Chapter 4 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] now [G3568], O Israel, hear the [G3588] ordinances [G1345] and [G2532] the [G3588] judgments [G2917]! as many as [G3745] I [G1473] teach [G1321] you [G1473] today [G4594] to do [G4160], that [G2443] you should live [G2198] and [G2532] manifoldly multiply ; and [G2532] entering [G1525] should be heir [G2816] to the [G3588] land '[G1093] which [G3739] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473] gives [G1325] to you [G1473].
2: You will not add [G3756][G4369] to [G4314] the [G3588] saying [G4487] which [G3739] I [G1473] give charge [G1781] to you [G1473], and [G2532] you will not remove [G3756] from it [G1473]. Guard [G5442] the [G3588] commandments [G1785] of Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473]! as many as [G3745] I [G1473] give charge [G1781] to you [G1473] today [G4594].
3: the [G3588] Eyes [G3788] of you [G1473] have seen [G3708] all [G3956] as many [things] as [G3745] did [G4160] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473] to the [G3588] Baal-peor. For [G3754] every [G3956] man whoever [G3748] went [G4198] after [G3694] Baal-peor, obliterated him [G1473] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] your God '[G2316][G1473] from [G1537] you [G1473].
4: But you [G1473][G1161], the [G3588] [ones] joining with Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473], all live [G2198][G3956][G1722] the [G3588] today [G4594].
5: look [at] [G1492]! I have shown [G1166] to you [G1473] ordinances [G1345] and [G2532] judgments [G2920], as [G2505] gave charge [G1781] to me [G1473] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of me [G1473], the [G3588] to do [G4160] thus [G3779] for you [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] land '[G1093] into [G1519] which [G3739] you [G1473] enter [G1531] there [G1563] to inherit [G2816] it [G1473].
6: And [G2532] you will guard [G5442] and [G2532] will do [G4160]; for [G3754] this [G3778] the [G3588] [is] your wisdom [G4678][G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] your understanding [G4907][G1473] before [G1726] all [G3956] the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484], as many as [G3745] should [G1437] hear all [G3956] the [G3588]se ordinances [G1345][G3778]. Then [G2532] they will say [G2046], look [G2400], people [G2992] [is] a wise [G4680] and [G2532] intelligent [G1990] the [G3588] tradition-people (ethnic) '[G1484] the [G3588] this great [G3173][G3778].
7: For [G3754] what [G4169] tradition-people (ethnic) '[G1484] great [G3173] in which [G3739] there is to it [G1473] a God '[G2316] near [G1448] to them [G1473] as [G5613] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473] [is] in [G1722] all [things] [G3956] in which [G3739] we should call upon him [G1473][G1941]?
8: And [G2532] what [G4169] tradition-people (ethnic) '[G1484] great [G3173] in which [G3739] there is to it [G1473] ordinances [G1345] and [G2532] judgments [G2917] just [G1342] according to [G2596] all [G3956] the [G3588] this law [G3551][G3778], which [G3739] I [G1473] give [G1325] before [G1799] you [G1473] today [G4594]?
9: Take heed [G4337] to yourself [G4572], and [G2532] guard [G5442] the [G3588] your life [G5590][G1473] exceedingly [G4970]! You should not [G3361] forget [G1950] all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] which [G3739] have seen [G3708] the [G3588] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473], and [G2532] let them not leave [G3361] from the [G3588] your heart [G2588][G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250] of the [G3588] your life [G2222][G1473]! And [G2532] instruct [G4822] the [G3588] your sons [G5207][G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of the [G3588] your sons [G5207][G1473]!
10: [Specially the] day [G2250] which [G3739] you stood [G2476] in the presence of [G1799] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473] in [G1722] Horeb, in the [G3588] day [G2250] of the [G3588] assembly [G1577]; for [G3754] BOSS said [G2036][G2962] to [G4314] me [G1473], Hold an assembly to [G4314] me [G1473], the [G3588] people [G2992] and [G2532] let] hear the [G3588] my words [G4487][G1473]! so that [G3704] they should learn [G3129] to fear [G5399] me [G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250] which [G3739] they [G1473] live [G2198] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [that [G2532] the [G3588]ir sons [G5207][G1473] they should have taught [G1321].
11: And [G2532] you came forward [G4334] and [G2532] stood [G2476] under [G5259] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735]; and [G2532] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] burned [G2545] fire [G4442] unto [G2193] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] -- darkness [G4655], dimness [G1105], and [G2532] a storm [G2366].
12: And [G2532] spoke [G2980] Boss '[G2962] to [G4314] you [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] from [G1537] midst [G3319] of the [G3588] fire [G4442]. A voice [G5456] of utterances [G4487] you [G1473] heard , and [G2532] a representation [G3667] you did not [G3756] look [at] [G1492] -- but only a voice [G5456].
13: And [G2532] he announced to you [G1473] the [G3588] his covenant [G1242][G1473], which [G3739] he gave charge [G1781] to you [G1473] to observe [G4160] -- the [G3588] ten [G1176] discourses [G4487]; and [G2532] he wrote [G1125] them [G1473] upon [G1909] two [G1417] tablets [G4109] of stone [G3035].
14: And [G2532] to me [G1473] BOSS gave charge [G1781][G2962] in [G1722] the [G3588] that time [G2540][G1565] to teach [G1321] you [G1473] ordinances [G1345] and [G2532] judgments [G2920], for you to do [G4160][G1473] them [G1473] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093] into [G1519] which [G3739] you [G1473] enter [G1531] there [G1563] to inherit [G2816] it [G1473].
15: And [G2532] you will guard [G5442] exceedingly [G4970] the [G3588] your lives [G5590][G1473], that [G3754] you not [G3756] look [at] [G1492] any [G3956] representation [G3667] in [G1722] the [G3588] day [G2250] in which [G3739] spoke [G2980] Boss '[G2962] to [G4314] you [G1473] in [G1722] Horeb in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] from [G1537] midst [G3319] of the [G3588] fire [G4442].
16: Lest you should [G3361] act lawlessly , and [G2532] make [G4160] [to [G1473] yourselves [G1473] a carving representation [G3667], any [G3956] image [G1504], a representation [G3667] of a male or [G2228] female ;
17: a representation [G3667] of any [G3956] beast [G2934] of the [G3588] [ones] being upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093]; a representation [G3667] of any [G3956] bird [G3732] feathered which [G3739] flies [G4072] under [G5259] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772];
18: a representation [G3667] of any [G3956] reptile [G2062] which [G3739] crawls upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093]; a representation [G3667] of any [G3956] fish [G2486], as many as [G3745] are in [G1722] the [G3588] waters [G5204] underneath [G5270] the [G3588] land '[G1093].
19: And [G2532] lest at any time [G3379] looking up into [G1519] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], and [G2532] looking [at] [G1492] the [G3588] sun [G2246], and [G2532] the [G3588] moon [G4582], and [G2532] the [G3588] stars , and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] arrangement '[G2889] of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] wandering [G4105], you should do obeisance to [G4352] them [G1473], and [G2532] you should serve [G3000] them [G1473], which [G3739] bestowed Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] your God '[G2316][G1473] them [G1473] to all [G3956] the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] the [G3588] underneath [G5270] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772].
20: you [G1473] But [G1161] took [G2983] God '[G2316] the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] led [G1806] you [G1473] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] furnace [G2575] of the [G3588] iron [G4603], out of [G1537] Egypt, to be to him [G1473] people [G2992] a hereditary , as [G5613] in [G1722] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778].
21: And [G2532] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] was enraged [G2373] with me [G1473] on account of [G4012] the [things] [G3588] having been said [G3004] by [G5259] you [G1473]. And [G2532] he swore by an oath [G3660] that [G2443] I should not [G3361] pass over [G1224] the [G3588] this Jordan [G3778], and [G2532] that [G2443] I should not enter [G3361][G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] land '[G1093] the [G3588] good which [G3739] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473] gives [G1325] to you [G1473] by [G1722] lot [G2819].
22: For I [G1473][G1063] die in [G1722] the [G3588] this land '[G1093][G3778], and [G2532] I will not [G3756] pass over [G1224] the [G3588] this Jordan [G3778]. But you [G1473][G1161] will pass over [G1224] and [G2532] will inherit [G2816] the [G3588] land '[G1093] the [G3588] this good [G3778].
23: Take heed [G4337] to yourselves [G1473]! lest at any time [G3379] you should forget [G1950] the [G3588] covenant [G1242] of Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473], which [G3739] he ordained [G1303] with [G4314] you [G1473], and [G2532] you should make [G4160] to you [G1473] yourselves [G1438] a carving representation [G3667] of all [G3956] of which [G3739] gave orders [G4929] to you [not to do [G1473] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] your God '[G2316][G1473].
24: For [G3754] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473] fire [G4442] a consuming [G2654] is -- a God '[G2316] jealous [G2207].
25: And if [G1437][G1161] you should procreate [G1080] sons [G5207] and [G2532] sons [G5207] of the [G3588] your sons [G5207][G1473], and [G2532] you should pass time [G5549] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] you should act lawlessly , and [G2532] you should make [G4160] a carving representation [G3667] of any [thing] [G3956], and [G2532] you should do [G4160] the [G3588] wicked [thing] [G4190] in the presence of [G1799] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473] to provoke him to anger [G3949][G1473],
26: I call to testify [G1263] against you [G1473] today [G4594] the [G3588] both [G5037] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] and [G2532] the [G3588] land '[G1093], that [G3754] by destruction you will be destroyed from the [G3588] land '[G1093] in [G1519] which [G3739] you [G1473] pass over [G1224] the [G3588] Jordan there [G1563] to inherit [G2816] it [G1473]. You will not [G3780] delay long days [G2250] upon [G1909] it [G1473], but by obliteration you will be obliterated .
27: And [G2532] BOSS will disseminate [G1289][G2962] you [G1473] among [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484], and [G2532] there will be left [G2641] few [G3641] of you in number among [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] into [G1519] which [G3739] BOSS will bring [G1521][G2962] you [G1473] there [G1563].
28: And [G2532] you will serve [G3000] there [G1563] gods '[G2316] other [G2087], works [G2041] of hands [G5495] of man -- wood [G3586] and [G2532] stones [G3037], which [G3739] cannot [G3756] see [G3708], nor [G3761] hear , nor [G3761] eat [G2068], nor [G3761] smell .
29: And [G2532] you will seek after [G1567] there [G1563] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473], and [G2532] you will find [G2147] him [G1473] whenever [G3752] you should seek after [G1567] him [G1473] with [G1537] entire [G3650] the [G3588] heart [G2588] your [G1473], and [G2532] with [G1537] entire [G3650] the [G3588] soul [G5590] your [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] your affliction [G2347][G1473].
30: And [G2532] will find [G2147] you [G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] these [G3778] at [G1909] last [G2078] of the [G3588] days [G2250], and [G2532] you will turn [G1994] towards [G4314] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473], and [G2532] you will hearken [G1522] [to the [G3588] his voice [G5456][G1473].
31: For [G3754] God '[G2316] [is] pitying [G3629] and [G2532] compassionate [G1655] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] your God '[G2316][G1473]. He will not [G3756] abandon [G1459] you [G1473], nor in any way will he obliterate you [G1473]; he will not [G3756] forget [G1950] the [G3588] covenant [G1242] of the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473], which [G3739] he swore by an oath [G3660] to them [G1473].
32: Ask [G1905] days [G2250] former [G4387]! the [G3588] [ones] having taken place [G1096] prior [G4387] of you [G1473], from the [G3588] day [G2250] of which [G3739] God created [G2936] the [G3588][G2316] man upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] [one] extremity of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] unto [G2193] the [G3588] [other] extremity of the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772], if [G1487] [anything] has taken place [G1096] according to [G2596] the [G3588] thing [G4487] the [G3588] this great [G3173][G3778], if [G1487] was heard such [G5108];
33: if [G1487] has heard an tradition-people (ethnic) '[G1484] voice [G5456] of living God '[G2316][G2198] speaking [G2980] in [G1722] midst [G3319] of the [G3588] fire [G4442], in which [G3739] manner [G5158] you have heard [G1473] and [G2532] lived [G2198];
34: if [G1487] God tested [G3985] the [G3588][G2316], entering [G1525] to take [G2983] to himself [G1438] an tradition-people (ethnic) '[G1484] from out of [G1537] midst [G3319] of an tradition-people (ethnic) '[G1484], for [G1722] a test [G3986]; and [G2532] in [G1722] signs [G4592], and [G2532] in [G1722] miracles [G5059], and [G2532] by [G1722] war [G4171], and [G2532] by [G1722] hand [G5495] a fortified [G2900], and [G2532] with [G1722] arm [G1023] a high [G5308], and [G2532] in [G1722] visions [G3705] great [G3173], according to [G2596] all [G3956] as much as [G3745] did [G4160] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473] in [G1722] Egypt, in the presence of [G1799] your [G1473] seeing ;
35: so as [G5620] to see [G1492] yourself [G1473] that [G3754] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473], he [G1473] is God '[G2316], and [G2532] there not [G3756] is yet [one [G2089] besides [G4133] him [G1473].
36: From out of [G1537] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] audible to you [G1473] he made [G4160] the [G3588] his voice [G5456][G1473], to correct [G3811] you [G1473]; and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093] he showed [G1166] you [G1473] the [G3588] fire [G4442] of him '[G1473] the [G3588] great [G3173]; and [G2532] the [G3588] his discourses [G4487][G1473] you heard from [G1537] midst [G3319] of the [G3588] fire [G4442].
37: [It is] on account of [G1223] the [G3588] his loving [G1473] the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473] that [G2532] he chose [G1586] the [G3588]ir seed [G4690][G1473] after [G3326] them [G1473] -- you [G1473]. And [G2532] he led [G1806] you [G1473] himself [G1473] by [G1722] the [G3588] strength [G2479] of him '[G1473] the [G3588] great [G3173] from out of [G1537] Egypt,
38: to utterly destroy [G1842] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] great [G3173] and [G2532] stronger] than [G2478] you [G1473] before [G4253] face [G4383] of you [G1473], to bring [G1521] you [G1473] [and] to give [G1325] to you [G1473] the [G3588]ir land '[G1093][G1473] to inherit [G2816] as [G2531] you have [G2192] today [G4594].
39: And [G2532] you will know [G1097] today [G4594], and [G2532] will turn [G1994] the [G3588] [your] mind [G1271], that [G3754] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473] -- he [G3778] [is] God '[G2316], in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-place-above (sky) '[G3772] upward , and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093] below [G2736]; and [G2532] [there] not [G3756] is any [G2089] besides [G4133] him [G1473].
40: And [G2532] you will guard [G5442] the [G3588] commandments [G1785] of him [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his ordinances [G1345][G1473], as many as [G3745] I [G1473] give charge [G1781] to you [G1473] today [G4594]; that [G2443] good [G2095] to you [G1473] it should be [G1096], and [G2532] [to the [G3588] your sons [G5207][G1473] after [G3326] you [G1473], so that [G3704] long-lived you should be [G1096] upon [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093], of which [G3739] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473] gives [G1325] to you [G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250].
41: Then [G5119] Moses separated three [G5140] cities [G4172] on the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] Jordan off east sun [G2246],
42: to flee [G5343] there [G1563] [for] the [G3588] man-killer who [G3739] ever should have slaughtered [G5407] the [G3588] neighbor [G4139] not [G3756] knowingly [G1492], and [G2532] this one [G3778] having not [G3756] detested [G3404] him [G1473] before [G4253] the [G3588] yesterday [G5504] and [G2532] the [G3588] third [day before [G5154]. And [G2532] he will take refuge [G2703] in [G1519] one [G1520] of the [G3588]se cities [G4172][G3778], and [G2532] he will live [G2198] --
43: the [G3588] Bezer in [G1722] the [G3588] wilderness [G2048], in [G1722] the [G3588] land '[G1093] in the [G3588] plain [G3977] of the [G3588] Reuben; and [G2532] the [G3588] Ramoth in [G1722] Gilead to of the [G3588] Gadites; and [G2532] the [G3588] Golon in [G1722] Bashan to the [G3588] Manassites.
44: This [is [G3778] the [G3588] law [G3551] which [G3739] Moses placed [G3908] before [G1799] sons [G5207] of Israel.
45: These are [G3778] the [G3588] testimonies [G3142], and [G2532] the [G3588] ordinances [G1345], and [G2532] the [G3588] judgments [G2917], as many as [G3745] Moses spoke [G2980] to the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel in [G1722] the [G3588] wilderness [G2048], in their coming forth [G1831][G1473] from [G1537] land '[G1093] of Egypt,
46: on [G1722] the [G3588] other side [G4008] of the [G3588] Jordan, in [G1722] ravine [G5327] near [G1451] house [G3624] of Peor, in [G1722] land '[G1093] of Sihon king of the [G3588] Amorites whom [G3739] dwelt [G2730] in [G1722] Heshbon, who [G3739] Moses struck [G3960], and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel, in their coming forth [G1831][G1473] from out of [G1537] land '[G1093] of Egypt.
47: And [G2532] they inherited [G2816] the [G3588] his land '[G1093][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of Og king of the [G3588] Bashan, two [G1417] kings of the [G3588] Amorites who [G3739] were on the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] Jordan, according to [G2596] rising of sun [G2246].
48: From Aroer, which [G3739] is upon [G1909] the [G3588] bank [G5491] of rushing stream [G5493] Arnon, and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] of the [G3588] Sion, which [G3739] is Hermon,
49: all [G3956] the [G3588] wilderness on the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] Jordan according to [G2596] rising of sun [G2246] by [G5259] Asedoth -- the [one] of the [G3588] dressed stone [G2991].
