2 Chronicles Chapter 28 - | Early Church Bible

1: a son [G5207] twenty [G1501] and [G2532] five [G4002] years [old [G2094] Ahaz was in [G1722] the [G3588] his taking reign [G1473], and [G2532] sixteen years [G2094] he reigned in [G1722] Jerusalem. And [G2532] He did not do [G3756][G4160] the [G3588] upright [thing] before [G1799] Boss '[G2962] as [G5613] David the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473].
2: And [G2532] he went [G4198] according to [G2596] the [G3588] ways [G3598] of kings of Israel, [G2532] for [G1063] carved [images he made [G4160] to the [G3588] Baals.
3: And [G2532] he sacrificed [G2380] in [G1722] ravine [G5327] [of the] Son of Hinnom, and [G2532] led through [G1236] the [G3588] his children [G5043][G1473] in fire [G4442], according to [G2596] the [G3588] abominations of the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] which [G3739] BOSS removed [G1808][G2962] from face [G4383] of sons [G5207] of Israel.
4: And [G2532] he burned incense [G2370] upon [G1909] the [G3588] high [places [G5308], and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] roofs [G1430], and [G2532] underneath [G5270] every [G3956] tree [G3586] of woods .
5: And [G2532] delivered [G3860] him [G1473] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] his God '[G2316][G1473] into [G1223] hand [G5495] of king of Syria. And [G2532] he struck [G3960] among [G1722] him [G1473], and [G2532] he captured [for] captivity many [G4183] of [G1537] them [G1473], and [G2532] conveyed ' {them] unto [G1519] Damascus. And also [G2532][G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] hands [G5495] of king of Israel he delivered [G3860] him [G1473], and [G2532] he struck [G3960] in [G1722] him [G1473] calamity [G4127] a great [G3173].
6: And [G2532] killed Pekah son [G5207] of Remaliah king of Israel] in [G1722] Judah in [G1722] one [G1520] day [G2250] a hundred [G1540] and [G2532] twenty [G1501] thousand [G5505] men mighty [G1415] of strength [G2479], because [G1722] the [G3588]y left [G2641][G1473] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of the [G3588]ir fathers [G3962][G1473].
7: And [G2532] killed Zechri the [G3588] mighty [man [G1415] of the [G3588] Ephraim the [G3588] Maaseiah the [G3588] son [G5207] of the [G3588] king , and [G2532] the [G3588] Azrikam leader [G2233] of the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] Elkanah the [G3588] second [G1208] of the [G3588] king .
8: And [G2532] took captive the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] off the [G3588]ir brothers [G1473] two hundred [G1250] thousand [G5505] women [G1135], and [G2532] sons [G5207], and [G2532] daughters [G2364]; and [G2532] spoils [G4661] many [G4183] they despoiled of [G1537] them [G1473], and [G2532] they brought [G5342] the [G3588] spoils [G4661] to [G1519] Samaria.
9: And [G2532] was there [G1563] the [G3588] prophet [G4396] of the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] -- Oded [was the] name [G3686] to him [G1473]. And [G2532] he came forth [G1831] to [G1519] meet for the [G3588]ce [G1411] of the [G3588] [ones] coming [G2064] to [G1519] Samaria. And [G2532] he said [G2036] to them [G1473], look [G2400], anger [G3709] of Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473] [is] upon [G1909] Judah, and [G2532] he delivered [G3860] them [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] your hands [G5495][G1473]. But [G2532] you killed among [G1722] them [G1473] in [G1722] anger [G3709], and [G2532] unto [G2193] the [G3588] raised-places-above (skies) '[G3772] it came [G5348].
10: And [G2532] now [G3568] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Judah and [G2532] Jerusalem you [G1473] speak [G3004] to acquire for [G1519] menservants [G1401] and [G2532] maidservants [G1399]! not [G3756] look [G2400] I am with [G3326] you [G1473] to testify [G3140] [to the] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473], trespasses [are] with [G3326] you [G1473] against Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473].
11: And [G2532] now [G3568] hear me [G1473] and [G2532] return the [G3588] captivity which [G3739] you captured from the [G3588] your brothers [G1473]! for [G3754] anger [G3709] of rage [G2372] of Boss '[G2962] [is] upon [G1909] you [G1473].
12: And [G2532] rose up rulers off the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Ephraim] (Azariah the [G3588] [son of the [G3588] Johanan, and [G2532] Berechiah the [G3588] [son of the [G3588] Meshillemoth, and [G2532] Jehizkiah the [G3588] son of the [G3588] willum, and [G2532] Amasa the [G3588] [son of the [G3588] Hadlai) unto [G1909] the [G3588] [ones] coming [G2064] from the [G3588] war [G4171].
13: And [G2532] they said [G2036] to them [G1473], In no way should you bring [G1521] the [G3588] captivity here [G5602] to [G4314] us [G1473], for [G3754] in [G1519] the [G3588] trespassing against the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] upon [G1909] us [G1473] you [G1473] speak [G3004] to add [G4369] upon [G1909] the [G3588] sins of us [G1473], and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] our ignorance [G1473], for [G3754] [is] great [G4183] the [G3588] our sin [G1473], and [G2532] anger [G3709] of rage [G2372] of Boss '[G2962] [is] upon [G1909] the [G3588] Israel.
14: And [G2532] released the [G3588] warriors the [G3588] captivity and [G2532] the [G3588] spoils [G4661] before [G1726] the [G3588] rulers and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] assembly [G1577].
15: And [G2532] rose up men who [G3739] were called [G1941] by [G1722] name [G3686], and [G2532] they took hold of the [G3588] captivity . And [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] naked [G1131] they covered [G4016] from the [G3588] spoils [G4661], and [G2532] clothed [G1746] them [G1473], and [G2532] tied [sandals] upon them [G5265][G1473], and [G2532] gave [G1325] to them [G1473] the [G3588] to eat [G2068] and [G2532] to drink [G4095], and [G2532] to anoint . And [G2532] they assisted them [G1473] by [G1722] beasts of burden [G5268] for all [G3956] infirm . And [G2532] they placed [G2525] them [G1473] in [G1519] Jericho, the [G3588] city [G4172] of palms [G5404], with [G4314] their brothers [G1473]. And [G2532] they returned [G1994] to [G1519] Samaria.
16: In [G1722] the [G3588] that time [G2540][G1565] sent the [G3588] king Ahaz] to [G4314] the [G3588] king of Assyria the [G3588] to give help to him [G1473].
17: And [G2532] in [G1722] this [G3778] the [G3588] Edomites attacked [G2007] and [G2532] struck [G3960] in [G1722] Judah, and [G2532] they took captive a captivity .
18: And [G2532] the [G3588] Philistines attacked [G2007] against [G1909] the [G3588] cities [G4172] of the [G3588] plain [G3977], and [G2532] off south [G3047] of the [G3588] Judah, and [G2532] they took [G2983] the [G3588] Beth-shemesh, and [G2532] the [G3588] Ajalon, and [G2532] Gederoth, and [G2532] the [G3588] Shocho and [G2532] the [G3588] her towns [G2968][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] Timnah and [G2532] the [G3588] her towns [G2968][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] Gimzo and [G2532] the [G3588] her towns [G2968][G1473]. And [G2532] they dwelt [G2730] there [G1563].
19: For [G3754] BOSS humbled [G5013][G2962] the [G3588] Judah because of [G1223] the [G3588] Ahaz king of Judah, because he uncovered [nakedness in [G1722] the [G3588] Judah, and [G2532] he revolted in a defection from Boss '[G2962].
20: And [G2532] came [G2064] against [G1909] him [G1473] Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria], and [G2532] afflicted [G2346] him [G1473].
21: And [G2532] Ahaz took [G2983] the [things] [G3588] in [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] the [things] [G3588] in [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] king , and [G2532] of the [G3588] rulers , and [G2532] gave [G1325] to the [G3588] king of Assyria; but [G2532] not [G3756] for [G1519] a help to him [G1473] he was ,
22: but only the [G3588] to afflict [G2346] him [G1473]. And [G2532] he proceeded [G4369] the [G3588] to leave from Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] king Ahaz],
23: I will inquire [G1567] of the [G3588] gods '[G2316] of Damascus, the [G3588] [ones] beating [G5180] me [G1473]. And [G2532] he said [G2036], Because [G3754] the [G3588] gods '[G2316] of king of Syria strengthens [G2729] them [G1473], therefore [G5106] I will sacrifice [G2380] to them [G1473], and [G2532] they will assist me [G1473]. And [G2532] they [G1473] became [G1096] to him [G1473] as an [G1519] impediment , and [G2532] to all [G3956] Israel.
24: And [G2532] Ahaz removed the [G3588] items [G4632] of house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] he cut them in pieces [G2629][G1473], and [G2532] locked [G2808] the [G3588] doors [G2374] of house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962]. And [G2532] he made [G4160] for himself [G1438] altars [G2379] in [G1722] every [G3956] corner [G1137] in [G1722] Jerusalem,
25: and [G2532] in [G1722] every [G3956] city [G4172]; and [G2532] in [G1722] a city [G4172] of Judah he made [G4160] high [places [G5308] the [G3588] to burn incense [G2370] to alien gods '[G2316]. And [G2532] he provoked to anger [G3949] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of the [G3588] his fathers [G3962][G1473].
26: And [G2532] the [G3588] rest [G3062] of his words [G3056][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] his actions [G4234][G1473], the [G3588] first [G4413] and [G2532] last [G2078], look [G2400], [they are] written [G1125] upon [G1909] scroll of kings of Judah and [G2532] Israel.
27: And [G2532] Ahaz slept [G2837] with [G3326] the [G3588] his fathers [G3962][G1473], and [G2532] they entombed [him [G2290] in [G1722] city [G4172] of David; for [G3754] they did not bring [G3756][G5342] him [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] tombs [G5028] of the [G3588] kings of Israel. And [G2532] reigned Hezekiah son [G5207] of him [G1473] instead of him [G1473].
