And [G2532] went [G4198] Abimelech the [G3588] son [G5207] of Jerubbaal] into [G1519] Shechem to [G4314] the [G3588] brothers of the [G3588] his mother [G3384][G1473]. And [G2532] he spoke [G2980] to [G4314] them [G1473], and [G2532] to [G4314] all [G3956] the [G3588] kin [G4772] of the [G3588] house [G3624] father [G3962] of his mother's [G3384][G1473], saying [G3004],

Speak [G2980] indeed [G1211] into [G1722] the [G3588] ears [G3775] of all [G3956] the [G3588] men of Shechem, [saying], Which [is [G4169] best to you [G1473], the [G3588] to rule you [G1473] [for] seventy [G1440] men , all [G3956] sons [G5207] of Jerubbaal, or [G2228] to dominate [G2961] you [G1473] man [for] one [G1520]? And [G2532] you should remember [G3403] that [G3754] of your bone [G3747][G1473] and [G2532] of your flesh [G4561][G1473] I am [G1473].

And [G2532] spoke [G2980] concerning [G4012] him [G1473] the [G3588] brothers of the [G3588] his mother [G3384][G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] ears [G3775] of all [G3956] of the [G3588] men of Shechem all [G3956] the [G3588] words [G3056] these [G3778]. And [G2532] leaned [G2827] the [G3588]ir heart [G2588][G1473] after [G3694] Abimelech; for [G3754] they said [G2036], our brother [G1473] He is .

And [G2532] they gave [G1325] to him [G1473] seventy [G1440] [pieces of] silver from out of [G1537] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Baal-berith; and [G2532] hired [G3409] for [G1722] them [G1473] Abimelech men vain [G2756] and [G2532] distraught [G2284], and [G2532] they went [G4198] behind [G3694] him [G1473].

And [G2532] he entered [G1525] to [G1519] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473] at [G1519] Ophrah, and [G2532] he killed the [G3588] brothers of him [G1473], sons [G5207] of Jerubbaal, seventy [G1440] men upon [G1909] stone [G3037] one [G1520]. But [G2532] was left behind [G5275] Jotham son [G5207] of Jerubbaal the [G3588] younger [G3501], for [G3754] he was hidden [G2928].

And [G2532] came together [G4863] all [G3956] the [G3588] men of Shechem, and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Millo, and [G2532] they went [G4198] and [G2532] gave reign to the [G3588] Abimelech [as] king at [G4314] the [G3588] acorn tree of the [G3588] station [G4714], of the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] Shechem.

And [G2532] they announced the [G3588] to Jotham, and [G2532] he went [G4198], and [G2532] stood [G2476] on [G1722] the [G3588] top of the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] Gerizim, and [G2532] he lifted up [G1869] the [G3588] his voice [G5456][G1473], and [G2532] he called [G2564], and [G2532] he said [G2036] to them [G1473], Hear me [G1473] men of Shechem! and [G2532] will hear you [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316].

In going [G4198], went forth [G4198] the [G3588] trees [G3586] the [G3588] to anoint [G5548] for [G1909] themselves [G1438] a king . And [G2532] they said [G2036] to the [G3588] olive tree [G1636], You reign over [G1909] us [G1473]!

And [G2532] said [G2036] to them [G1473] the [G3588] olive tree [G1636], Allowing the [G3588] my fatness [G4096][G1473] which [G3739] in [G1722] me [G1473] glorified [G1392] the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] the [G3588] men , will I go [G4198] to rule over [G1909] the [G3588] trees [G3586]?

And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] trees [G3586] to the [G3588] fig-tree [G4808], Come [G1204], you reign over [G1909] us [G1473]!

And [G2532] said [G2036] to them [G1473] the [G3588] fig-tree [G4808], Allowing the [G3588] my sweetness [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] produce [G1081] my [G1473] the [G3588] good , should I go [G4198] to rule the [G3588] trees [G3586]?

And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] trees [G3586] to the [G3588] grapevine , Come [G1204], you reign [G1473] over [G1909] us [G1473]!

And [G2532] said [G2036] to them [G1473] the [G3588] grapevine , Allowing the [G3588] my wine [G3631][G1473], the [G3588] gladness [G2167] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], and [G2532] of the [G3588] [ones] of men , should I go [G4198] to rule over [G1909] the [G3588] trees [G3586]?

And [G2532] said [G2036] all [G3956] the [G3588] trees [G3586] to [G4314] the [G3588] white-thorn shrub , Come [G1204], You [G1473] reign over [G1909] us [G1473]!

And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] white-thorn shrub to [G4314] the [G3588] trees [G3586], If [G1487] in [G1722] truth you anoint [G5548] me [G1473] yourselves [G1473] the [G3588] to reign over [G1909] you [G1473], come [G1205] rely [G3982] in [G1722] the [G3588] my protection [G1473]; and [G2532] if not [G1508] may come forth [G1831] fire [G4442] from [G1537] the [G3588] white-thorn shrub , and [G2532] may it devour [G2719] the [G3588] cedars [G2748] of the [G3588] Lebanon.

And [G2532] now [G3568], if [G1487] in [G1722] truth and [G2532] in [G1722] soundness [G5047] you made [G4160] even [G2532] Abimelech reign the [G3588], and [G2532] if [G1487] well [G2573] you did [G4160] with [G3326] Jerubbaal, and [G2532] with [G3326] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473], and [G2532] if [G1487] according to [G2596] the [G3588] recompense of the [G3588] his hand [G5495][G1473] you did [G4160] to him [G1473],

as [G5613] waged war [G4170] the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473] for [G5228] you [G1473], and [G2532] tossed [G4495] his life [G5590][G1473] right opposite , and [G2532] rescued [G4506] you [G1473] from out of [G1537] hand [G5495] of Midian;
18
and [G2532] you [G1473] rose up [G1881] against [G1909] the [G3588] house [G3624] of the [G3588] father [G3962] of me [G1473] today [G4594], and [G2532] you killed the [G3588] his sons [G5207][G1473], seventy [G1440] men upon [G1909] stone [G3037] one [G1520]; and [G2532] you gave reign to the [G3588] Abimelech son [G5207] of the [G3588] his maidservant [G3814][G1473] over [G1909] the [G3588] men of Shechem, because [G3754] your brother [G1473] he is ;

and [G2532] if [G1487] in [G1722] truth and [G2532] perfection [G5047] you acted [G4160] with [G3326] Jerubbaal, and [G2532] the [G3588] his house [G3624][G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] this day [G2250][G3778], may you be glad [G2165] in [G1722] Abimelech, and [G2532] may he be glad [G2165] also [G2532] indeed [G1065] himself [G1473] in [G1722] you [G1473].

If not [G1487][G3361], may come forth [G1831] fire [G4442] from [G1537] Abimelech, and [G2532] devour [G2719] the [G3588] men of Shechem, and [G2532] the [G3588] house [G3624] Millo; and [G2532] may come forth [G1831] fire [G4442] from men of Shechem, and [G2532] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Millo, and [G2532] devour [G2719] the [G3588] Abimelech.

And [G2532] Jotham ran away and [G2532] fled [G5343], and [G2532] went [G4198] unto [G1519] Beer, and [G2532] dwelt [G2730] there [G1563] away from face [G4383] of Abimelech the [G3588] brother of him [G1473].

And [G2532] Abimelech ruled over [G1909] Israel three [G5140] years [G2094].

And [G2532] God sent [G1821] the [G3588][G2316] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] a bad [G4190] between Abimelech and [G2532] between the [G3588] men of Shechem; and [G2532] annulled [allegiance the [G3588] men of Shechem] with [G1722] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Abimelech;

so as the [G3588] to bring [G1863] the [G3588] injustice [done to] the [G3588] seventy [G1440] sons [G5207] of Jerubbaal, and [G2532] for the [G3588]ir blood [G1473] to be put [G2007] upon [G1909] Abimelech the [G3588]ir brother [G1473] the [G3588] [one] killing them [G1473]; and [G2532] upon [G1909] the [G3588] men of Shechem, of the [G3588] [ones] strengthening [G2729] the [G3588]ir hands [G5495][G1473] so as [G5620] to kill the [G3588] brothers of him [G1473].

And [G2532] put [G5087] for him [G1473] the [G3588] men of Shechem] ones lying in wait [G1748] upon [G1909] the [G3588] top [G2776] of the [G3588] raised-places (mountains) '[G3735]. And [G2532] they kidnapped all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] going along [G1279] by [G1909] them [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] way [G3598]; and [G2532] it was reported the [G3588] to Abimelech.

And [G2532] came [G2064] Gaal son [G5207] of Ebed] and [G2532] the [G3588] brothers of him [G1473], and [G2532] they went [G3928] unto [G1519] Shechem; and [G2532] relied [G3982] in [G1722] him [G1473] the [G3588] men of Shechem].

And [G2532] they went forth [G1831] into [G1519] field , and [G2532] gathered the vintage [G5166] of the [G3588]ir vineyards [G1473], and [G2532] they treaded [G3961], and [G2532] they made [G4160] a dance [G5525], and [G2532] they entered [G1525] into [G1519] house [G3624] of their god [G2316][G1473], and [G2532] they ate [G2068] and [G2532] drank [G4095], and [G2532] they cursed [G2672] the [G3588] Abimelech.

And [G2532] said [G2036] Gaal son [G5207] of Ebed], Who [G5100] is Abimelech, and [G2532] who [G5100] is son [G5207] of Shechem, that [G3754] we will serve [G1398] to him [G1473]? [Is he] not [G3756] son [G5207] of Jerubbaal, and [G2532] Zebul his overseer [G1985][G1473], his manservant [G1401][G1473] with [G4862] the [G3588] men of Hamor, father [G3962] of Shechem? And [G2532] why [G5100] [is it] that [G3754] we will serve [G1398] to him [G1473] ourselves [G1473]?

And [G2532] if any should [G5100] give [G1325] the [G3588] this people [G2992][G3778] into [G1722] my hand [G5495][G1473], then [G2532] I will remove [G3179] the [G3588] Abimelech. And [G2532] I will say [G2046] to [G4314] Abimelech, Multiply [G4129] the [G3588] your force [G1411][G1473], and [G2532] come forth [G1831]!

And [G2532] heard Zebul the [G3588] ruler of the [G3588] city [G4172] the [G3588] words [G3056] of Gaal son [G5207] of Ebed, and [G2532] he was enraged [G2373] in anger [G3709].

And [G2532] he sent word-conveyers (messengers) ' to [G4314] Abimelech with [G3326] bribes [G1435], saying [G3004], look [G2400], Gaal son [G5207] of Ebed, and [G2532] the [G3588] brothers of him [G1473] have come [G3854] unto [G1519] Shechem; and [G2532] know [G1492], they assault the [G3588] city [G4172] against [G1909] you [G1473].

And [G2532] now [G3568] rise up at night [G3571], you [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] people [G2992] the [G3588] with [G3326] you [G1473], and [G2532] lie in wait [G1748] in the [G3588] field !

And [G2532] it will be in the morning [G4404], together with the [G3588] rising of the [G3588] sun [G2246], that [G2532] you will rise early [G3719] and [G2532] stretch out [G1614] against [G1909] the [G3588] city [G4172]. And [G2532] look [G2400], he [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] people [G2992] the [G3588] with [G3326] him [G1473] go forth [G1607] against [G4314] you [G1473], and [G2532] you will do [G4160] to him [G1473] just as [G2509] should find [opportunity [G2147] the [G3588] your hand [G5495][G1473].

And [G2532] Abimelech rose up , and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] the [G3588] with [G3326] him [G1473] at night [G3571], and [G2532] they laid in wait [G1748] at [G1909] Shechem -- four [G5064] companies .

And [G2532] came forth [G1831] Gaal son [G5207] of Ebed], and [G2532] he stood [G2476] at [G4314] the [G3588] door [G2374] of the [G3588] gate [G4439] of the [G3588] city [G4172]. And [G2532] Abimelech rose up , and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] the [G3588] with [G3326] him [G1473], from [G1537] the [G3588] ambush [G1749].

And [G2532] saw [G1492] Gaal son [G5207] of Ebed] the [G3588] people [G2992]. And [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] Zebul, look [G2400], a people [G2992] coming [G2597] from the [G3588] tops of the [G3588] raised-places (mountains) '[G3735]. And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473] Zebul], the [G3588] shadow [G4639] of the [G3588] raised-places (mountains) '[G3735] you [G1473] see [G3708] as [G5613] men .

And [G2532] proceeded [G4369] still [G2089] Gaal the [G3588] to speak [G2980], and [G2532] said [G2036], look [G2400], a people [G2992] coming down [G2597] as [G2596] a sea [G2281] from the [part the [G3588] next to [G2192] the [G3588] navel of the [G3588] land '[G1093], and [G2532] company one [G1520] arrives [G3854] from way [G3598] of Oak of Seers .

And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] him [G1473] Zebul], Where [G4226] is the [G3588] your mouth [G4750][G1473], the [G3588] [one] saying [G3004], Who [G5100] is Abimelech, that [G3754] we will serve [G1398] him [G1473]? not [G3756] Is this [G3778] the [G3588] people [G2992] whom [G3739] you treated with contempt [G1847]? Go forth [G1831] indeed [G1211] now [G3568] and [G2532] wage war [G4170] with [G4314] him [G1473]!

And [G2532] Gaal went forth [G1831] from presence [G4383] of the [G3588] men of Shechem, and [G2532] he made war [G4170] against [G4314] Abimelech.
40
And [G2532] pursued [G2614] him [G1473] Abimelech], and [G2532] he fled [G5343] from his face [G4383][G1473], and [G2532] there fell [G4098] slain many [G4183] unto [G2193] the [G3588] doors [G2374] of the [G3588] city [G4172].

And [G2532] Abimelech sat down [G2523] in [G1722] Arumah, and [G2532] Zebul cast out [G1544] the [G3588] Gaal and [G2532] the [G3588] brothers of him [G1473], the [G3588] [so as] to not [G3361] live [G3611] in [G1722] Shechem.

And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in the [G3588] next day [G1887], and [G2532] came forth [G1831] the [G3588] people [G2992] into [G1519] the [G3588] plain , and [G2532] reported the [G3588] to Abimelech.

And [G2532] he took [G3880] the [G3588] people [G2992], and [G2532] he divided [G1244] them [G1473] into [G1519] three [G5140] companies , and [G2532] he laid in wait [G1748] in [G1722] field . And [G2532] he watched [G1492], and [G2532] look [G2400], a people [G2992] came forth [G1831] from out of [G1537] the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] he rose up [G1881] against [G1909] them [G1473] and [G2532] struck [G3960] them [G1473].

And [G2532] Abimelech and [G2532] companies , the [G3588] [ones] with [G3326] him [G1473], stretched out [G1614] and [G2532] stood [G2476] by [G3844] the [G3588] door [G2374] of the [G3588] gate [G4439] of the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] the [G3588] two [G1417] companies poured out [G1632] upon [G1909] all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] in [G1722] the [G3588] field , and [G2532] he struck [G3960] them [G1473].

And [G2532] Abimelech made war [G4170] against [G1722] the [G3588] city [G4172] entire [G3650] the [G3588] day [G2250] that [G1565]. And [G2532] they overtook [G2638] the [G3588] city [G4172], and [G2532] the [G3588] people [G2992] the [G3588] in [G1722] it [G1473] they killed ; and [G2532] he demolished [G2507] the [G3588] city [G4172] and [G2532] sowed [G4687] it [G1473] with salt .

And [G2532] heard all [G3956] the [G3588] men of the [G3588] tower [G4444] of Shechem], and [G2532] they entered [G1525] into [G1519] for the [G3588]tress [G3794] of house [G3624] of Bethel-berith.

And [G2532] it was announced the [G3588] to Abimelech that [G3754] were brought together [G4863] all [G3956] the [G3588] men of the [G3588] tower [G4444] of Shechem].

And [G2532] Abimelech went up into [G1519] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] Zalmon, he [G1473] and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992] the [G3588] with [G3326] him [G1473]. And [G2532] Abimelech took [G2983] the [G3588] axe in [G1722] the [G3588] his hand [G5495][G1473], and [G2532] he cut [G2875] a load [G5413] of wood [G3586], and [G2532] he took [G2983] it [G1473], and [G2532] put [it [G2007] upon [G1909] the [G3588] his shoulders [G5606][G1473]. And [G2532] he said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] people [G2992] the [G3588] with [G3326] him [G1473], What [G5100] you see [G1492] me [G1473] doing [G4160], quickly [G5030] you do [G4160] as [G5613] also [G2532] I [G1473]!

And [G2532] they felled [wood [G2875]. And [G2532] indeed [G1065] to them all [G3956][G1473] each [G1538] [was] a load [G5413]. And [G2532] they lifted , and [G2532] they went [G4198] after [G3694] Abimelech. And [G2532] they placed [the wood [G2007] at [G1909] for the [G3588]tress [G3794], and [G2532] they set fire to [G1909] them [G1473] at for the [G3588]tress [G3794] with [G1722] fire [G4442]. And [G2532] all [G3956] died , the [G3588] men of tower [G4444] of Shechem, about [G5616] a thousand [G5507] men and [G2532] women [G1135].

And [G2532] Abimelech went [G4198] unto [G1519] Thebez, and [G2532] besieged it [G1473], and [G2532] first took it [G1473].

And [G2532] tower [G4444] a strong [G2478] there was in [G1722] midst [G3319] of the [G3588] city [G4172]. And [G2532] fled [G5343] there [G1563] all [G3956] the [G3588] men , and [G2532] the [G3588] women [G1135], and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] leaders [G2233] of the [G3588] city [G4172]. And [G2532] they shut up [G1909] themselves [G1438], and [G2532] went up upon [G1909] the [G3588] roof [G1430] of the [G3588] tower [G4444].

And [G2532] Abimelech came [G2064] unto [G2193] the [G3588] tower [G4444], and [G2532] they subdued it by war [G1473]. And [G2532] Abimelech approached [G1448] unto [G2193] the [G3588] door [G2374] of the [G3588] tower [G4444] the [G3588] to burn [G1714] it [G1473] with [G1722] fire [G4442].

And [G2532] tossed [G4495] a woman [G1135] one [G1520] piece [G2801] of millstone [G3458] upon [G1909] the [G3588] head [G2776] of Abimelech, and [G2532] it fractured the [G3588] his skull [G2898][G1473].

And [G2532] he yelled out the [G3588] quickly [G5034] to [G4314] the [G3588] servant [G3808] the [G3588] lifting the [G3588] his weapons [G4632][G1473]. And [G2532] he said [G2036] to him [G1473], Unsheathe [G4685] the [G3588] my broadsword [G4501][G1473] and [G2532] kill [G2289] me [G1473]! lest at any time [G3379] they should say [G2036] that [G3754], A woman [G1135] killed him [G1473]. And [G2532] stabbed [G1574] him [G1473] the [G3588] his servant [G3808][G1473], and [G2532] he died .

And [G2532] saw [G1492] [each] man of Israel] that [G3754] Abimelech died , and [G2532] departed [each] man to [G1519] the [G3588] his place [G5117][G1473].

And [G2532] God returned [G1994] the [G3588][G2316] the [G3588] evil [G2549] of Abimelech, which [G3739] he did [G4160] to the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473], by killing the [G3588] seventy [G1440] brothers of him '[G1473].

And [G2532] all the [G3588] [G3588] evil [G2549] of men of Shechem, God returned [G1994] the [G3588][G2316] on [G1519] the [G3588]ir [own] head [G2776][G1473]. And [G2532] came [G1904] upon [G1909] them [G1473] the [G3588] curse [G2671] of Jotham the [G3588] son [G5207] of Jerubbaal.
