Joshua Chapter 24 - | Early Church Bible

1: And [G2532] Joshua brought together [G4863] all [G3956] the [G3588] tribes [G5443] of Israel to [G1519] Shechem, and [G2532] he called together [G4779] the [G3588] elders [G4245] of Israel, and [G2532] the [G3588]ir rulers [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588]ir magistrates [G1348][G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588]ir scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613])[G1473]; and [G2532] they stood [G2476] before the [G3588] God '[G2316].
2: And [G2532] Joshua said [G2036] to [G4314] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992], Thus [G3592] says [G3004] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel, On the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river [G4215] dwelled [G2730] the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473] from the [G3588] beginning -- Terah the [G3588] father [G3962] of Abraham, and [G2532] the [G3588] father [G3962] of Nachor; and [G2532] they served [G3000] gods '[G2316] other [G2087].
3: And [G2532] I took [G2983] the [G3588] father [G3962] of us [G1473] the [G3588] Abraham from out of [G1537] the [G3588] other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river [G4215], and [G2532] I guided [G3594] him [G1473] in [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] land '[G1093] of Canaan, and [G2532] I multiplied [G4129] the [G3588] his seed [G4690][G1473].
4: And [G2532] I gave [G1325] to him [G1473] the [G3588] Isaac; and [G2532] I gave [G1325] [to the [G3588] Isaac the [G3588] Jacob and [G2532] the [G3588] Esau; and [G2532] I gave [G1325] [to the [G3588] Esau the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] the [G3588] Seir, for an inheritance [G2817] to him [G1473]; and [G2532] Jacob and [G2532] the [G3588] his sons [G5207][G1473] went down [G2597] into [G1519] Egypt.
5: And [G2532] I sent Moses and [G2532] Aaron, and [G2532] he struck [G3960] the [G3588] Egypt with [G1722] the things which [G3739] he did [G4160] among [G1722] them [G1473].
6: And [G2532] after [G3326] these [things] [G3778] he led [G1806] you [G1473], and [G2532] he led [G1806] the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473] from out of [G1537] Egypt. And [G2532] you entered [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] sea [G2281], and [G2532] pursued [G2614] the [G3588] Egyptians] after [G3694] the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473] with [G1722] chariots and [G2532] with [G1722] horses [G2462] into [G1519] the [G3588] sea [G2281] the [G3588] red [G2063].
7: And [G2532] we yelled to [G4314] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] he put [G1325] a cloud [G3507] and [G2532] dimness [G1105] between you [G1473] and [G2532] between the [G3588] Egyptians; and [G2532] he brought [G1863] upon [G1909] them [G1473] the [G3588] sea [G2281], and [G2532] it covered [G2572] them [G1473]; and [G2532] looked [at] [G1492] the [G3588] eyes [G3788] of you [G1473] as much as [G3745] BOSS did [G4160][G2962] in [G1722] land '[G1093] of Egypt; and [G2532] you were in [G1722] the [G3588] wilderness [G2048] days [G2250] many [G4183].
8: And [G2532] he conveyed ' you [G1473] into [G1519] land '[G1093] of Amorites the [G3588] dwelling [G2730] on the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] Jordan; and [G2532] they deployed against you [G1473]. And [G2532] delivered [G3860] them [G1473] Boss '[G2962] into [G1519] the [G3588] your hands [G5495][G1473], and [G2532] you inherited the [G3588]ir land '[G1093][G1473], and [G2532] you utterly destroyed [G1842] them [G1473] from face [G4383] of you [G1473].
9: And [G2532] Balak rose up , the [G3588] [son of the [G3588] Zippor, king of Moab, and [G2532] deployed [against the [G3588] Israel. And [G2532] sending , he called [G2564] the [G3588] Balaam son [G5207] of Beor to curse you [G1473].
10: And [G2532] did not [G3756] want [G2309] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] your God '[G2316][G1473] to destroy you [G1473], and [G2532] with blessings [G2129] he blessed [G2127] you [G1473], and [G2532] rescued [G1807] you [G1473] from [G1537] their hands [G5495][G1473].
11: And [G2532] you passed over [G1224] the [G3588] Jordan and [G2532] came [G3854] to [G1519] Jericho; and [G2532] waged war [G4170] against [G4314] you [G1473] the [G3588] [ones] dwelling [G2730] in Jericho], the [G3588] Amorite, and [G2532] the [G3588] Perizzite, and [G2532] the [G3588] Canaanite, and [G2532] the [G3588] Hittite, and [G2532] the [G3588] Girgashite, and [G2532] the [G3588] Hivite, and [G2532] the [G3588] Jebusite; and [G2532] he delivered [G3860] them [G1473] into [G1519] the [G3588] your hands [G5495][G1473].
12: And [G2532] he sent [G1821] in front [G4387] of you [G1473] the [G3588] swarm of wasps , and [G2532] it cast them out [G1544][G1473] from your presence [G4383][G1473] -- two [G1417] kings of the [G3588] Amorites; [but] not [G3756] by [G1722] the [G3588] your broadsword [G4501][G1473], nor [G3761] by [G1722] the [G3588] your bow [G5115][G1473].
13: And [G2532] he gave [G1325] to you [G1473] land '[G1093] upon [G1909] which [G3739] you did not [G3756] tire [by labor [G2872] upon [G1909][G1473]; and [G2532] [he gave] cities [G4172] which [G3739] you did not [G3756] build [G3618], but [G2532] you settled upon [G1909] them [G1473]; and [G2532] [he gave] vineyards and [G2532] olive groves [G1638] which [G3739] you did not [G3756] plant , [but] you [G1473] will eat from [them [G2068].
14: And [G2532] now [G3568] fear [G5399] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] serve [G3000] him [G1473] in [G1722] straightness [G2118] and [G2532] in [G1722] righteousness [G1343], and [G2532] remove [G4014] the [G3588] gods '[G2316] the [G3588] alien which [G3739] served [G3000] the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473] on [G1722] the [G3588] other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river [G4215], and [G2532] in [G1722] Egypt, and [G2532] serve [G3000] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962]!
15: But if it [is] not [G1490] pleasing to you [G1473] to serve [G3000] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962], choose [G1586] to [G1473] yourselves [G1473] today [G4594] whom [G5100] you should serve [G3000]! whether [G1535] to the [G3588] gods '[G2316] of the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473], to the [G3588] [ones] on [G1722] the [G3588] other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river [G4215], or whether [G1535] to the [G3588] gods '[G2316] of the [G3588] Amorites, in [G1722] which [G3739] you [G1473] dwell [G2730] upon [G1909] the [G3588]ir land '[G1093][G1473]. But I [G1473][G1161] and [G2532] the [G3588] my house [G3624][G1473], will serve [G3000] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962]!
16: And [G2532] responding the [G3588] people [G2992] said [G2036], May it not be [G3361][G1096] to us [G1473] to leave [G2641] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] so as [G5620] to serve [G3000] gods '[G2316] other [G2087].
17: Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473], he [G1473] led us [G1473] and [G2532] the [G3588] our fathers [G3962][G1473] from out of [G1537] land '[G1093] of Egypt, from [G1537] house [G3624] of slavery [G1397], and [G2532] as many as [G3745] he did [G4160] to us [G1473] the [G3588] signs [G4592] the [G3588]se great [G3173][G3778], and [G2532] guarded [G1314] us [G1473] in [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] way [G3598] which [G3739] we went [G4198] by [G1722] it [G1473], and [G2532] among [G1722] all [G3956] the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] which [G3739] we went [G3928] through [G1223] them [G1473].
18: And [G2532] BOSS cast out [G1544][G2962] all the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484], and [G2532] the [G3588] Amorite the [G3588] dwelling [G2730] in the [G3588] land '[G1093], from our face [G4383][G1473]. But also [G2532] we [G1473] will serve [G3000] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962], for this one [G3778][G1063] is the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473].
19: And [G2532] Joshua said [G2036] the [G3588] to [G4314] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992], In no way will you be able [G1410] to serve [G3000] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] (for [G3754] he is pure ', and [G2532] God '[G2316] is jealous [G2207], this one [G3778] will not [G3756] spare the [G3588] your violations of the law [G1473], and [G2532] the [G3588] your sins [G1473])
20: when [G2259] ever you should abandon [G1459] Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] should serve [G3000] gods '[G2316] alien . And [G2532] coming [G1904] he will afflict [G2559] you [G1473], and [G2532] will completely consume you [G1473], because good [G2095] he did [G4160] to you [G1473].
21: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] people [G2992] to [G4314] Joshua, No [G3780], but [to the] Boss '[G2962] we will serve [G3000].
22: And [G2532] Joshua said [G2036] to [G4314] the [G3588] people [G2992], You [are] witnesses [G3144][G1473] according to [G2596] yourselves [G1473] that [G3754] chose [G1586] you [G1473] yourselves [G1438] the [G3588] Boss '[G2962], to serve [G3000] him [G1473]. And [G2532] they said [G2036], [We are] witnesses [G3144].
23: And [G2532] now [G3568], remove [G4014] the [G3588] gods '[G2316] the [G3588] alien , the [G3588] [ones] among [G1722] you [G1473], and [G2532] straighten [G2116] the [G3588] heart [G2588] to [G4314] Boss '[G2962] God '[G2316] of Israel!
24: And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] people [G2992] to [G4314] Joshua, To Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473] we will serve [G3000], and [G2532] of the [G3588] his voice [G5456][G1473] we will hearken .
25: And [G2532] Joshua ordained [G1303] a covenant [G1242] with [G4314] the [G3588] people [G2992] in [G1722] the [G3588] that day [G2250][G1565]. And [G2532] he gave [G1325] to [them [G1473] law [G3551] and [G2532] judgment [G2920] in [G1722] Shechem.
26: And [G2532] Joshua wrote [G1125] the [G3588]se things [G4487][G3778] in [G1519] a scroll of law [G3551] of the [G3588] God '[G2316]. And [G2532] took [G2983] stone [G3037] a great [G3173] and [G2532] set [G2476] it [G1473] Joshua] there [G1563] under [G5259] the [G3588] terebinth tree the [G3588] before Boss '[G2962].
27: And [G2532] Joshua said [G2036] to [G4314] all [G3956] the [G3588] people [G2992], look [G2400], the [G3588] this stone [G3037][G3778] will be to you [G1473] for [G1519] a testimony [G3142]; for [G3754] it [G1473] has heard all [G3956] the [G3588] things being said [G3004] by [G5259] Boss '[G2962], as much as [G3745] he spoke [G2980] to [G4314] you [G1473] today [G4594]. And [G2532] this [G3778] will be in [G1722] you [G1473] for [G1519] a testimony [G3142] unto [G1909] last [G2078] of the [G3588] days [G2250], when [G2259] ever you should lie [G5574] [to the] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of you [G1473].
28: And [G2532] Joshua sent the [G3588] people [G2992] each [G1538] to [G1519] the [G3588] his place [G5117][G1473].
29: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] after [G3326] those [things] [G1565] died Joshua son [G5207] of Nun], a servant [G1401] of Boss '[G2962] who [G3739] [was] a hundred [G1540] ten [G1176] years [old [G2094].
30: And [G2532] they entombed [G2290] him [G1473] by [G4314] the [G3588] borders [G3725] of the [G3588] his inheritance [G2817][G1473] in [G1722] Timmnath-serah, in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] the [G3588] Ephraim, from north [G1005] of the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] of Gaash.
31: And [G2532] Israel served [G3000] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250] of Joshua, and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250] of the [G3588] elders [G4245], as many as [G3745] dragged on the [G3588] in time [G5550] after [G3326] Joshua, and [G2532] as many as [G3745] looked [at] [G1492] all the [G3588] works [G2041] of Boss '[G2962], as much as [G3745] he did [G4160] the [G3588] to Israel.
32: And [G2532] the [G3588] bones [G3747] of Joseph took up the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Israel] from out of [G1537] Egypt, and [G2532] they buried [them in [G1722] Shechem, in [G1722] the [G3588] portion [G3310] of the [G3588] field of which [G3739] Jacob acquired [G2932] from [G3844] the [G3588] Amorites the [G3588] dwelling [G2730] in [G1722] Shechem [for a] hundred [G1540] ewe-lambs , and [G2532] he gave [G1325] it [G1473] the [G3588] to Joseph for [G1722] a portion [G3310].
33: And [G2532] Eleazar the [G3588] son [G5207] of Aaron the [G3588] chief priest came to an end [G5053]; and [G2532] he was entombed [G2290] in [G1722] Gabath of Phinehas the [G3588] son [G5207] of him [G1473], which [G3739] he gave [G1325] to him [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] raised-place (mountain) '[G3735] Ephraim.
