Ezra Chapter 4 -

1
And [G2532] heard the [G3588] [ones] afflicting [G2346] Judah and [G2532] Benjamin] that [G3754] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of the [G3588] resettlement were building [G3618] a house [G3624] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] God '[G2316] of Israel.
2
And [G2532] they approached [G1448] to [G4314] Zerubbabel, and [G2532] to [G4314] the [G3588] rulers of the [G3588] families [G3965], and [G2532] said [G2036] to them [G1473], We should build [G3618] with [G3326] you [G1473], for [G3754] as [G5613] you [G1473], we [also] inquire [G1567] [to the [G3588] your God '[G2316][G1473]; and [G2532] to him [G1473] we [G1473] sacrifice from days [G2250] of Esar-haddon king of Assyria, the [G3588] [one] bringing [G5342] us [G1473] here [G5602].
3
And [G2532] said [G2036] to [G4314] them [G1473] Zerubbabel], and [G2532] Jeshua, and [G2532] the [G3588] rest [G2645] of the [G3588] rulers of the [G3588] families [G3965] of the [G3588] Israel, [It is] not for us [G3756][G1473] and [G2532] you [G1473] the [G3588] to build [G3618] a house [G3624] [to the [G3588] our God '[G2316][G1473], for [G3754] we [G1473] ourselves [G1473] together [G1909] the [G3588][G1473] will build [G3618] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] God '[G2316] of Israel, as [G5613] gave charge [G1781] to us [G1473] Cyrus ["Boss" [G2962] the [G3588] king of Persians].
4
And [G2532] were the [G3588] people [G2992] of the [G3588] land '[G1093] enfeebling [G1590] the [G3588] hands [G5495] of the [G3588] people [G2992] of Judah, and [G2532] they impeded them [G1473] the [G3588] to build [G3618].
5
And [G2532] they were hiring [G3409] against [G1909] them [G1473] counselors [G4825] the [G3588] to efface the [G3588]ir counsel [G1012][G1473] all [G3956] the [G3588] days [G2250] of Cyrus ["Boss" [G2962] king of Persians, and [G2532] unto [G2193] government ' of Darius, the [G3588] king of Persians.
6
And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] government ' of Ahasuerus, and [G2532] in [G1722] beginning of his government '[G1473], they wrote [G1125] a letter [G1992] against [G1909] the ones living in [G3611] Judah and [G2532] Jerusalem.
7
And [G2532] in [G1722] the [G3588] days [G2250] of Artaxerxes wrote [G1125] in [G1722] peace [G1515] Mithridath], and [G2532] Tabeel, with [G4862] the [G3588] rest [G3062] of his fellow-servants [G4889][G1473] to [G4314] Artaxerxes king of Persians. wrote [G1125] the [G3588] tribute-gatherer the [G3588] writing [G1124] in Syrian and [G2532] being translated [G2059].
8
Rehum boss and [G2532] Shimshai the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]) wrote [G1125] letter [G1992] one [G1520] against [G2596] Jerusalem the [G3588] to Artaxerxes king , [saying],
9
Thus [G3592] judges [G2919] Rehum boss , and [G2532] Shimshai the [G3588] scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]), and [G2532] the [G3588] rest [G2645] of our fellow-servants [G4889][G1473], Dinaites, Apharsathchites, Tarpelites, Apharsites, Archevites, Babylonians, Susanchites, Dehavites, Elamites,
10
and [G2532] the [G3588] rest [G2645] of of the [G3588] tradition-peoples (ethnics) '[G1484] whom [G3739] resettled Asnapper the [G3588] great [G3173] and [G2532] the [G3588] esteemed [G5093], and [G2532] settled them [G1473] in [G1722] cities [G4172] of the [G3588] Samaria, and [G2532] the [G3588] rest [G2645] on the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river [G4215].
11
This [is [G1473] the [G3588] disposition [G1296] of the [G3588] letter [G1992] which [G3739] they sent to [G4314] him [G1473] -- To [G4314] Artaxerxes king . the [G3588] [By] your servants [G3816][G1473], men on the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river [G4215].
12
And [G2532] now [G3568] be made known [G1110] let it to the [G3588] king , that [G3754] the [G3588] Jews going up from you [G1473] to [G4314] us [G1473] came [G2064] into [G1519] Jerusalem the [G3588] city [G4172] defecting and [G2532] wicked [G4190], which [G3739] they are building [G3618]; and [G2532] the [G3588] walls [G5038] of it [G1473] are being readied [G2675], and [G2532] foundations [G2310] of it [G1473] they elevated .
13
Now [G3568] then [G3767] let it be made known [G1110] to the [G3588] king , that [G3754] if [G1437] the [G3588] that city [G4172][G1565] should be rebuilt , and [G2532] the [G3588] walls [G5038] of it [G1473] should be readied [G2675], [that] tributes [G5411], tolls [G4234], and [G2532] customs they will not give [G3756][G1325], and [G2532] this [G3778] to kings does evil [G2554]!
14
And [G2532] now [G3568] not [G3756] as [G2531] salt of the [G3588] temple [G3485] we salted , and [G2532] an indecency [concerning the] king it is not allowed [G3756][G1832] for us [G1473] to look at [G1492]. On account of [G1223] this [G3778] we sent forth [G3992] and [G2532] made known [G1107] to the [G3588] king ;
15
that [G2443] it should be examined [G1980] in [G1722] book of memoirs of the [G3588] your fathers [G3962][G1473]; and [G2532] you will find [G2147] in [G1722] the [G3588] book of the [G3588] memorial [G3422], and [G2532] will know [G1097] that [G3754] the [G3588] that city [G4172][G1565] city [G4172] [is] a defecting , and [G2532] one doing evil [G2554] to kings ; and [G2532] for places [G5561] and [G2532] 10> flights 11> for your [runaway] servants [G1401] it is [G1096] in [G1722] midst [G3319] of it [G1473] from time [G5550] of age (term) `. On account of [G1223] this [G3778], the [G3588] this city [G4172][G3778] was made desolate [G2049].
16
We make known [G1107] then [G3767] ourselves [G1473] to the [G3588] king , that [G3754] if [G1437] the [G3588] that city [G4172][G1565] should be built [G3618], and [G2532] the [G3588] its walls [G5038][G1473] should be readied [G2675] for [G4314] these [things] [G3778], a part [G3313] on [G1722] the [G3588] other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river [G4215] there will not be [G3756] to you [G1473].
17
[And this then is] the [G3588] word [G3056] which [G3739] sent the [G3588] king to [G4314] Rehum boss , and [G2532] Shimshai scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]), and [G2532] to the [G3588] rest [G2645] of their fellow-servants [G4889][G1473] of the [G3588] [ones] living [G3611] in [G1722] Samaria, and [G2532] the [G3588] rest [G2645] on the other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river, [saying [G4215], Peace [G1515]. And [G2532] says [the king [G5346],
18
The [G3588] tribute-gatherer whom [G3739] you sent to [G4314] us [G1473] was called [G2564] before [G1715] me [G1473].
19
And [G2532] by [G3844] me [G1473] was rendered [G5087] a decree [G1106], and [G2532] they examined [G1980] and [G2532] it was found [G2147] that [G3754] the [G3588] that city [G4172][G1565] from days [G2250] of age (term) ` against [G1909] kings lifts itself up [G1869], and [G2532] defections and [G2532] exiles take place [G1096] in [G1722] it [G1473].
20
And [G2532] kings strong [G2478] were [G1096] over [G1909] the [G3588] Jerusalem prevailing over all [G3956] of the [G3588] other side [G4008] of the [G3588] river [G4215]. And [G2532] tribute [G5411] [and] tolls [G4234] both [G5037] and [G2532] customs were given [G1325] to them [G1473].
21
And [G2532] now [G3568] establish [G5087] a decree [G1106] to cease work [G2673] the [G3588] men for those [G1565], so that [G2532] the [G3588] that city [G4172][G1565] will not [G3756] be built up [G3618] any more [G2089]!
22
So that [G3704] off the [G3588] decree [G1106] guarding [G5442] you were [you not be] remiss to do [G4160] concerning [G4012] this [G3778], lest at any time [G3379] should be multiplied [G4129] an extinction [of power for [G1519] an evil deed [to happen to] kings .
23
Then [G5119] the [G3588] tribute-gatherer of the [G3588] king Artaxerxes read in the presence of [G1799] Rehum boss , and [G2532] Shimshai scholar (scribe) '[G1122] (sofer [H5613]), and [G2532] his fellow-servants [G4889][G1473]. And [G2532] they went [G4198] [with] diligence [G4710] unto [G1519] Jerusalem and [G2532] to [G1722] Judah, and [G2532] they caused them to cease work [G2673][G1473] with [G1722] horses [G2462] and [G2532] a force [G1411].
24
Then [G5119] was idle the [G3588] work [G2041] of house [G3624] of the [G3588] God '[G2316], the [G3588] [one] in [G1722] Jerusalem. And [G2532] it was idle until [G2193] second [G1208] year [G2094] of the [G3588] government ' of Darius king of Persia.
