Acts Chapter 27 -

1
And when [G5613][G1161] it was decided [G2919] for the [G3588] us to sail away [G1473] unto [G1519] the [G3588] Italy, they delivered up [G3860] the [G3588] both [G5037] Paul and [G2532] certain [G5100] other [G2087] prisoners [G1202] to a centurion [G1543], by name [G3686] Julius, of cohort [G4686] of Augustus.
2
And having set foot [G1910][G1161] in a boat [G4143] of Adramyttium, being about [G3195] to sail [G4126] the [G3588] along [G2596] the [G3588] Asia places [G5117], we embarked ; being with [G4862] us [G1473] Aristarchus a Macedonian of Thessalonica.
3
the [G3588] And [G5037] another [day [G2087] we led down [G2609] unto [G1519] Sidon. kindly [G5364] And [G5037] the [G3588] Julius the [G3588] treating Paul [G5530], permitted [him [G2010] to [G4314] the [G3588] [his] friends [G5384] going [G4198] care [G1958] to attain [G5177].
4
And from there [G2547] embarking , we sailed under [G5284] the [G3588] Cyprus, because of [G1223] the [G3588] [G3588] winds being adverse [G1727].
5
And the [G3588][G5037] open sea [G3989] the [G3588] along [G2596] the [G3588] Cilicia and [G2532] Pamphylia having sailed [G1277], we went down [G2718] unto [G1519] Myra the [G3588] of Lycia.
6
And there [G2546] having found [G2147] the [G3588] centurion [G1543] a boat [G4143] of Alexandria sailing [G4126] to [G1519] the [G3588] Italy, he boarded [G1688] us [G1473] onto [G1519] it [G1473].
7
in [G1722] a fit [amount [G2425] And [G1161] of days [G2250] sailing slowly [G1020], and [G2532] hardly [G3433] coming [G1096] near [G2596] the [G3588] Cnidus, not [G3361] allowing us further [G4330][G1473] the [G3588] wind , we sailed under [G5284] the [G3588] Crete, near [G2596] Salmone.
8
And hardly [G3433][G5037] sailing along [G3881] it [G1473], we came [G2064] to [G1519] a certain place [G5117][G5100] being called [G2564], Good [G2570] Harbors [G3040], near which [G3739][G1451] was a city [G4172] of Lasea.
9
And a fit amount [G2425][G1161] of time [G5550] having elapsed [G1230], and [G2532] being already [G2235] a dangerous [G2000] the [G3588] voyage [G4144], because [G1223] the [G3588] also [G2532] the [G3588] fasting [G3521] already [G2235] went by [G3928], Paul earnestly advised [G3867] the [G3588],
10
saying [G3004] to them [G1473], Men , I contemplate [G2334] that [G3754] with [G3326] damage [G5196] and [G2532] much [G4183] loss [G2209], not [G3756] only [G3440] of the [G3588] load of cargo [G5413] and [G2532] the [G3588] boat [G4143], but also [G2532] of the [G3588] our lives [G5590][G1473] about [G3195] is to be the [G3588] voyage [G4144].
11
But the [G3588][G1161] centurion [G1543] by the [G3588] navigator [G2942] and [G2532] the [G3588] shipmaster [G3490] was persuaded [G3982] rather [G3123] than [G2228] the [things] [G3588] by [G5259] the [G3588] Paul being said [G3004].
12
[being] unsuitable And [G1161] the [G3588] harbor [G3040] existing [G5224] for [G4314] wintering [G3915], the [G3588] more [G4183] they made [G5087] counsel [G1012] to embark from there [G2547], if by any means [G1513] they might be able [G1410], arriving [G2658] at [G1519] Phoenix, to pass the winter [G3914], a harbor [G3040] of the [G3588] Crete looking towards [G2596] southwest [G3047] and [G2532] towards [G2596] northwest [G5566].
13
And blowing gently [G5285][G1161] south [G3558], thinking [G1380] the [G3588] purpose [G4286] to have been reached [G2902], having lifted [off close by they sailed [G3881] the [G3588] Crete.
14
after [G3326] not [G3756] long [G4183] But [G1161] shot by [G2596] it [G1473] wind a stormy [G5189], the [G3588] being called [G2564] Euroclydon.
15
being seized with force [G4884] And [G1161] the [G3588] boat [G4143], and [G2532] not [G3361] able [G1410] to tack into the [G3588] wind , giving up [G1929] we bore off [G5342].
16
small island [G3519] And [G1161] some [G5100] running under [G5295] being called [G2564] Clauda, hardly [G3433] we were able [G2480] control [G4031] to take [G1096] of the [G3588] skiff [G4627];
17
which [G3739] having taken up , helps they employed [G5530], undergirding [G5269] the [G3588] boat [G4143]; and fearing [G5399][G5037] lest [G3361] into [G1519] the [G3588] Syrtis they should fall off [G1601], letting down [G5465] the [G3588] rigging [G4632], thus [G3779] they were borne along [G5342].
18
And vehemently [G4971][G1161] with our being tossed by the storm [G5492][G1473], on the [G3588] next [day [G1836] an expulsion [of cargo [G1546] [was] made [G4160];
19
and [G2532] the [G3588] third [day [G5154] with our own hands the [G3588] rigging [G4631] of the [G3588] boat [G4143] we tossed out [G4495].
20
And neither [G3383][G1161] sun [G2246] nor [G3383] stars were appearing [G2014] for [G1909] many more [G4183] days [G2250], distress [G5494] and [G5037] no [G3756] small [G3641] was pressed upon [us [G1945], remaining [G3062] was removed [G4014] [and] all [G3956] hope [G1680] for the [G3588] us to be preserved [G4982][G1473].
21
And a long [G4183][G1161] lack of food existing [G5224], then [G5119] Paul standing [G2476] the [G3588] in [G1722] their midst [G3319][G1473] said [G2036], Indeed it behooved you [G1163][G3303], O [G5599] men , having yielded obedience [G3980] to me [G1473], to not [G3361] have embarked from the [G3588] Crete, so as to gain [G2770][G5037] the [G3588] this damage [G5196][G3778] and [G2532] the [G3588] loss [G2209].
22
And [G2532] at present [G3569] I earnestly advise [G3867] you [G1473] be cheerful [G2114]! cast off For [G1063] life [G5590] not one [G3762] will be of [G1537] you [G1473], except [G4133] the [G3588] boat [G4143].
23
For there stood beside [G3936][G1063] me [G1473] the [G3588] in this night [G3571][G3778] a word-conveyer (messenger) ' of the [G3588] God '[G2316], of whom [G3739] I am , and in whom [G3739][G2532] I serve [G3000],
24
saying [G3004], [Do] not [G3361] fear [G5399], Paul, Caesar you [G1473] must [G1163] stand before [G3936], and [G2532] look [G2400], has granted [G5483] to you [G1473] the [G3588] God '[G2316] all [G3956] the [G3588] [ones] sailing [G4126] with [G3326] you [G1473].
25
Therefore [G1352] be cheerful [G2114] men ! for I trust '[G4100][G1063] [in the [G3588] God '[G2316] that [G3754] so [G3779] it will be in [G2596] which [G3739] manner [G5158] it has been spoken [G2980] to me [G1473].
26
onto [G1519] island [G3520] But [G1161] a certain [G5100] we must [G1163][G1473] fall [G1601].
27
And when [G5613][G1161] fourteenth [G5065] night [G3571] came to pass [G1096], we being carried about [G1308][G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] Adriatic, towards [G2596] the middle [G3319] of the [G3588] night [G3571] suspected [G5282] the [G3588] seamen [G3492] neared [G4317] some [G5100] them [G1473] region [G5561].
28
And [G2532] having sounded [G1001], they found it [G2147] fathoms [G3712] twenty [G1501]; and a short [time] [G1024][G1161] having elapsed [G1339], and [G2532] again [G3825] having sounded [G1001], they found [it [G2147] fathoms [G3712] fifteen [G1178].
29
And fearing [G5399][G5037] perhaps [G3381] into [G1519] rough [G5138] places [G5117] they should fall [G1601], from out of [G1537] stern [G4403] they tossed [G4495] anchors four [G5064], vowing [G2172] day [G2250] to come [G1096].
30
And the [G3588][G1161] seamen [G3492] seeking [G2212] to flee [G5343] from [G1537] the [G3588] boat [G4143], and [G2532] having let down [G5465] the [G3588] skiff [G4627] into [G1519] the [G3588] sea [G2281], with an excuse [G4392] as [G5613] from [G1537] prow [G4408] to be about [G3195] anchors to stretch out [G1614],
31
Paul said [G2036] the [G3588] to the [G3588] centurion [G1543], and [G2532] to the [G3588] soldiers [G4757], If [G1437] these do not [G3361][G3778] stay [G3306] in [G1722] the [G3588] boat [G4143], you [G1473] to be preserved [G4982] will not [G3756] be able [G1410].
32
Then [G5119] the [G3588] soldiers [G4757] cut off the [G3588] lines [G4979] of the [G3588] skiff [G4627], and [G2532] allowed [G1439] it [G1473] to fall off [G1601].
33
And until [G1161][G3739] [was] about [G3195] day [G2250] to come [G1096], Paul appealed [G3870] for the [G3588] all to share [G3335] in nourishment [G5160], saying [G3004], [is the] fourteenth [G5065] Today [G4594] day [G2250] expecting [G4328] without eating you continue [G1300], nothing [G3367] having taken] to yourselves [G4355].
34
Therefore [G1352] I appeal to [G3870] you [G1473] to take [G4355] nourishment [G5160], for this [G3778][G1063] for [G4314] the [G3588] your [G5212] deliverance [G4991] exists [G5224]; not one [G3762] for [G1063] of yours [G1473] hair [G2359] from [G1537] the [G3588] [your] head [G2776] will fall [G4098].
35
And having said [G2036][G1161] these [things] [G3778], and [G2532] having taken [G2983] bread , he gave thanks [G2168] [to the [G3588] God '[G2316] before [G1799] all [G3956]; and [G2532] having broken [G2806] he began to eat [G2068].
36
cheerful [G2115] And [G1161] having become [G1096] all [G3956], also [G2532] they [G1473] took [G4355] nourishment [G5160].
37
And we were [G1161] in [G1722] the [G3588] boat [G4143], the [G3588] all [G3956] souls [G5590] two hundred [G1250] seventy [G1440] six [G1803].
38
And being satisfied [G2880][G1161] with nourishment [G5160], they lightened [G2893] the [G3588] boat [G4143], casting out [G1544] the [G3588] grain [G4621] into [G1519] the [G3588] sea [G2281].
39
And when [G3753][G1161] day [G2250] it became [G1096], the [G3588] land '[G1093] they did not [G3756] recognize [G1921]; bay [G2859] but [G1161] a certain [G5100] they contemplated [G2657] having [G2192] a shore , on [G1519] which [G3739] they consulted [G1011] if [G1487] they are able [G1410] to thrust [G1856] the [G3588] boat [G4143].
40
And [G2532] the [G3588] anchors having removed [G4014], they gave up [G1439] unto [G1519] the [G3588] sea [G2281], together unfastening the [G3588] tillers [G2202] of the [G3588] rudders [G4079]; and [G2532] having lifted up [G1869] the [G3588] mainsail to the [G3588] blow [G4154], they held [G2722] for [G1519] the [G3588] shore .
41
And having fallen [G4045][G1161] into [G1519] a place [G5117] between two seas [G1337], they ran aground [G2027] the [G3588] ship [G3491]. And [G2532] the [G3588][G3303] prow [G4408] having stuck [G2043], remained [G3306] unshaken , but the [G3588][G1161] stern [G4403] [was] loose [G3089] by [G5259] for the [G3588]ce of the [G3588] waves [G2949].
42
And the [G3588][G1161] soldiers [G4757] plan [G1012] was [G1096] that [G2443] the [G3588] prisoners [G1202] they should kill , lest [G3361] any [G5100] swimming [G1579], should have escaped [G1309].
43
But the [G3588][G1161] centurion [G1543] wanting [G1014] to save [G1295] the [G3588] Paul, restrained [G2967] them [G1473] of their the [G3588] will [G1013], and bid [G2753][G5037] the [G3588] [ones] able [G1410] to swim [G2860], having thrown [themselves off first [G4413], unto [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093] to exit [G1826];
44
and [G2532] the [G3588] rest [G3062], some indeed [G3739][G3303] upon [G1909] planks [G4548] and others [G3739][G1161] upon [G1909] some of the [things] [G5100] the [G3588] from the [G3588] boat [G4143]. And [G2532] so [G3779] it came to pass [G1096] all [G3956] came through safe [G1295] unto [G1909] the [G3588] land '[G1093].
