Acts Chapter 23 -

1
gazing upon And [G1161] the [G3588] Paul] the [G3588] sanhedrin [G4892], said [G2036], Men , brothers , I [G1473] in all [G3956] conscience [G4893] good have conducted myself in public [G4176] the [G3588] to God '[G2316] as far as this [G3778] the [G3588] day [G2250].
2
the [G3588] But [G1161] chief priest Ananias gave orders [G2004] to the [G3588] [ones] standing beside [G3936] him [G1473] to strike [G5180] of him '[G1473] the [G3588] mouth [G4750].
3
Then [G5119] the [G3588] Paul to [G4314] him [G1473] said [G2036], to beat [G5180] you [G1473] is about [G3195] the [G3588] God '[G2316], O wall [G5109] being whitewashed [G2867]. And [G2532] you [G1473], do you sit down [G2521] judging [G2919] me [G1473] according to [G2596] the [G3588] law [G3551], and [G2532] acting unlawfully [G3891] you bid [G2753] me [G1473] to be struck [G5180]?
4
And the [G3588] [ones] [G1161] standing beside [G3936] said [G2036], the [G3588] chief priest of the [G3588] God '[G2316] you revile [G3058]?
5
said [G5346] And [G5037] the [G3588] Paul], I did not [G3756] know [G1492] brothers that [G3754] he is chief priest ; for it has been written [G1125][G1063], A ruler of the [G3588] your people [G2992][G1473] you will not [G3756] speak [G2046] ill of [G2560].
6
having known [G1097] And [G1161] the [G3588] Paul] that [G3754] the [G3588] [one] [G1520] part [G3313] is of Sadducees, and the [G3588][G1161] other [G2087] of Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]), cried out [G2896] in [G1722] the [G3588] sanhedrin [G4892], Men , brothers , I [G1473] am a Pharisee [G5330] ("Separate One" [H6504]) , a son [G5207] of a Pharisee [G5330] ("Separate One" [H6504]); concerning [G4012] hope [G1680] and [G2532] a resurrection of dead [G3498] I [G1473] am judged [G2919].
7
And this [G3778][G1161] he [G1473] having said [G2980], there became [G1096] a faction [G4714] [between] the [G3588] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]) and [G2532] the [G3588] Sadducees, and [G2532] was split [G4977] the [G3588] multitude [G4128].
8
Sadducees indeed [G3303] For [G1063] say [G3004] there is no [G3361] resurrection , nor [G3366] word-conveyer (messenger) ', nor [G3383] wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151]; but the Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]) [G1161] acknowledge [G3670] the [G3588] both .
9
And there became [G1096][G1161] cry [G2906] a great [G3173]. And [G2532] having risen up , the [G3588] scholars (scribes) '[G1122] (soferim [H5613]) of the [G3588] part [G3313] of the [G3588] Pharisees [G5330] ("Separate Ones" [H6504]) disputed violently [G1264], saying [G3004], Nothing [G3762] bad [G2556] do we find [G2147] in [G1722] the [G3588] this man [G3778]; but if [G1487][G1161] also [G2532] a wind/spirit/breathing '[G4151] spoke [G2980] to him [G1473], or [G2228] a word-conveyer (messenger) ', we should not [G3361] fight against God [G2313].
10
a great [G4183] And [G1161] there being [G1096] faction [G4714], being cautious [G2125] the [G3588] commander [G5506], lest [G3361] Paul be pulled apart [G1288] the [G3588] by [G5259] them [G1473], bid [G2753] the [G3588] military [G4753] to go down [G2597] and [G2532] seize him [G1473] from out of [G1537] midst [G3319] of them [G1473], and to convey ' [him][G5037] unto [G1519] the [G3588] camp [G3925].
11
And the [G3588][G1161] following [G1966] night [G3571], standing by [G2186] him [G1473], the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] said [G2036], Take courage [G2293], Paul! for as [G5613][G1063] you testified [G1263] the [things] [G3588] concerning [G4012] me [G1473] in [G1519] Jerusalem, so [G3779] you [G1473] must [G1163] also [G2532] in [G1519] Rome testify [G3140].
12
And becoming [G1096][G1161] day [G2250], having made [G4160] some [G5100] of the [G3588] Jews] a confederacy [G4963], devoted themselves [G1438], saying [G3004] to neither [G3383] eat [G2068] nor [G3383] drink [G4095] until [G2193][G3739] they should kill the [G3588] Paul.
13
were And [G1161] more than [G4183] forty [G5062] the [G3588] [ones] this [G3778] the [G3588] conspiracy [G4945] making [G4160];
14
who [G3748] having come forward [G4334] to the [G3588] chief priests and [G2532] to the [G3588] elders [G4245], said [G2036], As an offering , we devoted ourselves [G1438] to not one [thing] [G3367] taste [G1089] until [G2193] of which [time] [G3739] we should kill the [G3588] Paul.
15
Now [G3568] then [G3767] you [G1473] reveal yourselves [G1718] to the [G3588] commander [G5506] with [G4862] the [G3588] sanhedrin [G4892], so that [G3704] tomorrow he should lead him [G1473][G2609] to [G4314] you [G1473], as [G5613] being about [G3195] to determine [G1231] more exactly the [things] [G3588] concerning [G4012] him [G1473]; and we [G1473][G1161], before [G4253] the [G3588] his approaching [G1448][G1473], are prepared [G2092] the [G3588] to do away with him [G1473].
16
having heard And [G1161] the [G3588] son [G5207] of the [G3588] sister of Paul] the [G3588] ambush [G1749], having come [G3854] and [G2532] entered [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] camp [G3925], reported [it the [G3588] to Paul.
17
having called [G4341] And [G1161] the [G3588] Paul] one [G1520] of the [G3588] centurions [G1543], said [G5346], the [G3588] this young man [G3494][G3778] Take to [G4314] the [G3588] commander [G5506], for he has [G2192][G1063] something [G5100] to report to him [G1473]!
18
the [G3588]n indeed [G3303][G3767] having taken [G3880] him [G1473], he conveyed ' [him] to [G4314] the [G3588] commander [G5506], and [G2532] says [G5346], the [G3588] prisoner [G1198] Paul having called [G4341] me [G1473], asked [me [G2065] this [G3778] the [G3588] young man [G3494] to convey ' to [G4314] you [G1473], having [G2192] something [G5100] to say [G2980] to you [G1473].
19
having taken hold of [G1949] And [G1161] the [G3588] his hand [G5495][G1473] the [G3588] commander [G5506], and [G2532] having withdrawn in private [G2596][G2398] inquired [G4441], What [G5100] is it which [G3739] you have [G2192] to report to me [G1473]?
20
And he said [G2036][G1161] that [G3754], the [G3588] Jews agreed [G4934] the [G3588] to ask [G2065] you [G1473] that [G3704] tomorrow unto [G1519] the [G3588] sanhedrin [G4892] you should lead [G2609] the [G3588] Paul], as [G5613] being about [G3195] something [G5100] to more exactly inquire about [G4441] concerning [G4012] him [G1473].
21
You [G1473] then [G3767] should not [G3361] be persuaded [G3982] by them [G1473]; for they lie in wait for [G1748][G1063] him [G1473], of [G1537] them [G1473] men more than [G4183] forty [G5062], who [G3748] devoted themselves [G1438] to neither [G3383] eat [G2068] nor [G3383] drink [G4095] until [G2193] of which [time] [G3739] they should do away with him [G1473]; and [G2532] now [G3568] they are ready [G2092], waiting [G4327] the [G3588] from you [G1473] a promise [G1860].
22
Then the [G3588][G3303][G3767] commander [G5506] dismissed the [G3588] young man [G3494], exhorting, [saying [G3853], to no one [G3367] Divulge [G1583] that [G3754] these [things] [G3778] were revealed [G1718] to [G4314] me [G1473].
23
And [G2532] having called on [G4341] two [G1417] certain [G5100] the [G3588] centurions [G1543], he said [G2036], Prepare [G2090] soldiers [G4757] two hundred [G1250], that [G3704] they should go [G4198] unto [G2193] Caesarea, and [G2532] horsemen [G2460] seventy [G1440], and [G2532] spearmen [G1187] two hundred [G1250], from third [G5154] hour [G5610] of the [G3588] night [G3571];
24
beasts [G2934] and [G5037] present [G3936], that [G2443] Paul setting upon [one [G1913] the [G3588], they should deliver [him [G1295] to [G4314] Felix the [G3588] governor [G2232];
25
having written [G1125] a letter [G1992] containing [G4023] the [G3588] this impression [G5179][G3778].
26
Claudius Lysias to the [G3588] most excellent [G2903] governor [G2232] Felix, Hail [G5463]!
27
the [G3588] This man [G3778] having been seized [G4815] by [G5259] the [G3588] Jews, and [G2532] being about [G3195] to be done away with by [G5259] them [G1473], attending [G2186] with [G4862] the [G3588] military [G4753], I rescued [G1807] him [G1473], having learned [G3129] that [G3754] he is a Roman .
28
And wanting [G1014][G1161] to know [G1097] the [G3588] reason for [G1223] which [G3739] they accused [G1458] him [G1473], I led him down [G2609][G1473] unto [G1519] the [G3588]ir sanhedrin [G4892][G1473];
29
whom [G3739] I found [G2147] to be accused [G1458] concerning [G4012] matters [G2213] of the [G3588]ir law [G3551][G1473], no [G3367] but [G1161] worthy of death [G2288] or [G2228] bonds [G1199] indictment [G1462] having [G2192].
30
And having been indicated [G3377][G1161] to me [G1473] of a plot [G1917] against [G1519] the [G3588] man , being about [G3195] to be by [G5259] the [G3588] Jews, immediately [G1824] I sent forth [G3992] to [G4314] you [G1473], exhorting [G3853] also [G2532] the [G3588] accusers [G2725] to say [G3004] the [things] [G3588] against [G4314] him [G1473] unto [G1909] you [G1473]. Be in health [G4517]!
31
The [G3588][G3303] soldiers then [G3767][G4757], according to [G2596] the [thing] [G3588] being set in order [G1299] for them [G1473], having taken the [G3588] Paul, conveyed ' [him] through [G1223] the [G3588] night [G3571] unto [G1519] the [G3588] Antipatris.
32
And the [G3588][G1161] next day [G1887] they allowed [G1439] the [G3588] horsemen [G2460] to go [G4198] with [G4862] him [G1473], [and] they returned [G5290] unto [G1519] the [G3588] camp [G3925].
33
The ones who [G3748] having entered [G1525] into [G1519] the [G3588] Caesarea, and [G2532] having delivered the [G3588] letter [G1992] to the [G3588] governor [G2232], presented [G3936] also [G2532] the [G3588] Paul to him [G1473].
34
having read [it And [G1161] the [G3588] governor [G2232], and [G2532] having asked [G1905] of [G1537] what [G4169] jurisdiction [G1885] he is , and [G2532] having ascertained [G4441] that [he is [G3754] from Cilicia;
35
I will hold a hearing [G1251] for you [G1473], said he [G5346], whenever [G3752] also [G2532] the [G3588] your accusers [G2725][G1473] should come [G3854]. And he bid [G2753][G5037] him [G1473] in [G1722] the [G3588] praetorium [G4232] of Herod to be kept [G5442].
