2 Chronicles Chapter 25 - | Early Church Bible

1: A son [G5207] being twenty [G1501] and [G2532] five [G4002] years [old [G2094] [was] Amaziah in [G1722] the [G3588] his taking reign . And [G2532] twenty [G1501] and [G2532] nine [G1767] years [G2094] he reigned in [G1722] Jerusalem. And [G2532] name [G3686] of the [G3588] his mother [G3384][G1473] [was] Jehoaddan of [G1537] Jerusalem.
2: And [G2532] he did [G4160] the [G3588] upright [thing] before [G1799] Boss '[G2962], but not [G3756] with [G1722] heart [G2588] a full [G4134].
3: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] as [G5613] was placed [G2525] the [G3588] government ' in [G1722] his hand [G5495][G1473], that [G2532] he killed [G2289] the [G3588] his servants [G3816][G1473] -- the [G3588] [ones] murdering [G5407] the [G3588] king the [G3588] his father [G3962][G1473].
4: And [G2532] the [G3588]ir sons [G5207][G1473] [were] not [G3756] killed according to [G2596] the [G3588] covenant [G1242] of the [G3588] law [G3551] of Boss '[G2962], as [G2531] is written [G1125] in [G1722] law [G3551] of Moses, as [G5613] BOSS gave charge [G1781][G2962], saying [G3004], will not die [G3756] fathers [G3962] for [G5228] children [G5043], and [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] will not [G3756] die for [G5228] fathers [G3962], but only each [G1538] for the [G3588] his own [G1438] sin will die .
5: And [G2532] Amaziah gathered [G4863] the [G3588] house [G3624] of Judah, and [G2532] he established them [G1473] according to [G2596] houses [G3624] of their families [G3965][G1473] for [G1519] commanders of thousands [G5506], and [G2532] commanders of hundreds [G1543], in [G1722] all [G3956] Judah and [G2532] Benjamin. And [G2532] he numbered [G1980] them [G1473] from twenty years [old and [G2532] up [G1883]. And [G2532] he found [G2147] of them [G1473] three hundred [G5145] thousand [G5505] mighty ones [G1415] going forth [G1831] for [G1519] war [G4171], mighty ones [G1415] holding [G2902] spear and [G2532] shield [G2375].
6: And [G2532] he hired [G3409] from Israel a hundred [G1540] thousand [G5505] mighty ones [G1415] in strength [G2479] for a hundred [G1540] talents [G5007] of silver .
7: And [G2532] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316] came [G2064] to [G4314] him [G1473], saying [G3004], O king , let not go [G3361][G4198] with [G3326] you [G1473] force [G1411] of Israel]! for [G3754] not [G3756] is Boss '[G2962] with [G3326] Israel -- of any [G3956] of the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Ephraim.
8: For [G3754] if [G1437] you should undertake [G5274] the [G3588] to grow strong [G2729] by [G1722] these [G3778] in [G1722] the [G3588] battle [G4171], BOSS will put [you] to flight [G1473] before [G1726] the [G3588] enemies [G2190], for [G3754] there is strength [G2479] to the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] to help , and [G2532] to put to flight .
9: And [G2532] Amaziah said [G2036] to the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316], And [G2532] what [G5100] will I do [G4160] with the [G3588] hundred [G1540] talents [G5007] which [G3739] I gave [G1325] to for the [G3588]ce [G1411] of Israel? And [G2532] said [G2036] the [G3588] man of the [G3588] God '[G2316], It is with the [G3588] Boss '[G2962] to give [G1325] to you [G1473] more [G4183] of these [G3778].
10: And [G2532] Amaziah parted [G1316] for the [G3588]ce [G1411] the [G3588] coming [G2064] to [G4314] him [G1473] from Ephraim, to go forth to [G1519] the [G3588]ir place [G5117][G1473]. And [G2532] they were enraged [G2373] [in the [G3588]ir anger [G3709][G1473] exceedingly [G4970] over [G1909] Judah, and [G2532] returned [G1994] to [G1519] the [G3588]ir places [G5117][G1473] in [G1722] an anger [G3709] of rage [G2372].
11: And [G2532] Amaziah grew strong [G2729], and [G2532] took to himself [G3880] the [G3588] his people [G2992][G1473], and [G2532] went [G4198] into [G1519] the [G3588] valley of the [G3588] salts , and [G2532] struck [G3960] there [G1563] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Seir -- ten [G1176] thousand [G5505].
12: And [G2532] ten [G1176] thousand [G5505] took alive [G2221] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of Judah], and [G2532] they brought [G5342] them [G1473] upon [G1909] the [G3588] tip of the [G3588] precipice [G2911], and [G2532] flung [G2630] them [G1473] from the [G3588] tip of the [G3588] precipice [G2911], and [G2532] all [G3956] were torn to pieces [G1284].
13: And [G2532] the [G3588] sons [G5207] of for the [G3588]ce [G1411], whom [G3739] Amaziah returned [so as the [G3588] to not [G3361] go [G4198] with [G3326] him [G1473] to [G1519] war [G4171], assailed [G2007] against [G1909] the [G3588] cities [G4172] of Judah from Samaria and [G2532] unto [G2193] Beth-horon. And [G2532] they struck [G3960] among [G1722] them [G1473] three [G5140] thousand [G5505], and [G2532] despoiled spoils [G4661] many [G4183].
14: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] after [G3326] the [G3588] coming [G2064] of Amaziah, having struck [G3960] the [G3588] Edomite, that [G2532] he brought [G5342] to [G4314] them [G1473] the [G3588] gods '[G2316] of sons [G5207] of Seir, and [G2532] he set [G2476] them [up [G1473] to himself [G1438] as [G1519] gods '[G2316]; and [G2532] before [G1726] them [G1473] he did obeisance [G4352], and [G2532] sacrificed to them [G1473][G2380].
15: And [G2532] came [G1096] anger [G3709] [of the] Boss '[G2962] against [G1909] Amaziah, and [G2532] he sent to him [G1473] a prophet [G4396], and [G2532] he said [G2036] to him [G1473], Why did [G5100] you seek [G2212] the [G3588] gods '[G2316] of the [G3588] people [G2992], the ones which [G3739] did not [G3756] rescue [G1807] the [G3588]ir own people [G2992][G1473] from [G1537] your hand [G5495][G1473]?
16: And [G2532] it came to pass [G1096] in [G1722] the [G3588] speaking [G2980] to him [G1473] by [G4314] him [G1473], that [G2532] he said [G2036] to him [G1473], Have [G3361] counselor [G4825] of the [G3588] king I appointed [G1325] you [G1473]? Take heed [G4337] to it [G1473]! that [G2443] they should not strike [G3361][G3960] you [G1473]. And [G2532] kept silent [G4623] the [G3588] prophet [G4396], and [G2532] said [G2036], I know [G1097] that [G3754] consulted [G1011] Boss '[G2962] the [G3588] to utterly destroy [G1311] you [G1473], for [G3754] he did [G4160] this [G3778], and [G2532] you did not [G3756] heed [G1873] the [G3588] my advice [G1473].
17: And [G2532] consulted [G1011] Amaziah king of Judah], and [G2532] sent to [G4314] Joash son [G5207] of Jehoahaz, son [G5207] of Jehu, king of Israel, saying [G3004], Come [G1204], for [G2532] we should see [each other's [G3708] faces [G4383].
18: And [G2532] sent Joash king of Israel] to [G4314] Amaziah king of Judah, saying [G3004], the [G3588] thorn-bush the [G3588] in [G1722] the [G3588] Lebanon sent to [G4314] the [G3588] cedar [G2748] the [G3588] in [G1722] the [G3588] Lebanon, saying [G3004], Give [G1325] the [G3588] daughter [G2364] of you [G1473] [to the [G3588] my son [G5207][G1473] for [G1519] a wife [G1135]; but [G2532], look [G2400], will come [G2064] the [G3588] wild beasts [G2342] of the [G3588] field the [G3588] in [G1722] the [G3588] Lebanon], and [G2532] came [G2064] the [G3588] wild beasts [G2342], and [G2532] they trampled [G2662] the [G3588] thorn-bush .
19: You said [G2036], look [G2400], I struck [G3960] the [G3588] Edom; and [G2532] lifts you up [G1869][G1473] the [G3588] heart [G2588] your [G1473] the [G3588] heavy . Now [G3568] sit down [G2523] in [G1722] your house [G3624][G1473], for [G2532] why [G2444] do you unite [G4820] in [G1722] evil [G2549], and [G2532] you will fall [G4098][G1473], and [G2532] Judah with [G3326] you [G1473]?
20: But [G2532] hearkened not [G3756] Amaziah], for [G3754] by [G3844] Boss '[G2962] it was [G1096] the [G3588] to deliver [G3860] him [G1473] into [G1519] hands [G5495] of Joash, for [G3754] he inquired [G1567] of the [G3588] gods '[G2316] of the [G3588] Edomites.
21: And [G2532] went up Joash the [G3588] king of Israel]. And [G2532] they saw [G3708] one another , he [G1473] and [G2532] Amaziah king of Judah, in [G1722] Beth-shemesh, which [G3739] is of the [G3588] Judah.
22: And [G2532] Judah was put to flight before [G2596] face [G4383] of Israel; and [G2532] fled [G5343] each [G1538] unto [G1519] the [G3588] his tent [G4638][G1473].
23: And [G2532] the [G3588] Amaziah king of Judah was overtaken [G2638] by Joash king of Israel in [G1722] Beth-shemesh, and [G2532] he brought [G1521] him [G1473] to [G1519] Jerusalem, and [G2532] he tore down from of the [G3588] wall [G5038] of Jerusalem, from gate [G4439] of Ephraim unto [G2193] gate [G4439] of corner [G1137] -- four hundred [G5071] cubits [G4083].
24: And [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] gold [G5553], and [G2532] the [G3588] silver , and [G2532] all [G3956] the [G3588] items [G4632] the [G3588] being found [G2147] in [G1722] house [G3624] of Boss '[G2962], and [G2532] the [things] [G3588] with [G3844] the [G3588] Obed Edom, and [G2532] the [G3588] treasures [G2344] of house [G3624] of the [G3588] king , and [G2532] of the [things] [G3588] of sons [G5207] of the [G3588] alliances he took [G2983], and [G2532] he returned [G1994] to [G1519] Samaria.
25: And [G2532] lived [G2198] Amaziah the [G3588] [son of the [G3588] Joash king of Judah] after [G3326] the [G3588] dying of Joash the [G3588] [son of the [G3588] Jehoahaz king of Israel years [G2094] for fifteen [G1178].
26: And [G2532] the [G3588] rest [G3062] of words [G3056] of Amaziah, the [G3588] first [G4413] and [G2532] the [G3588] last [G2078], look [are they] not [G3756][G2400] written [G1125] upon [G1909] scroll of kings of Judah and [G2532] Israel?
27: And [G2532] at [G1722] the [G3588] time [G2540] when [G3739] Amaziah departed from the [G3588] Boss '[G2962], [G2532] they made an attempt against [G2007] him [G1473] in a conspiracy [G1936] in [G1722] Jerusalem, and [G2532] he fled [G5343] unto [G1519] Lachish; but [G2532] they sent after him [G1473] unto [G1519] Lachish, and [G2532] they killed him [G2289][G1473] there [G1563].
28: And [G2532] they took him [G1473] upon [G1909] the [G3588] horses [G2462], and [G2532] entombed [G2290] him [G1473] with [G3326] the [G3588] his fathers [G3962][G1473] in [G1722] city [G4172] of David.
